Package refuses to fail

I'm doing some maintenece on a package somebody else wrote. Somehow, this person has rigged the package to never fail. In a data flow task, I can see an OLE DB Source fail. It lights up red but the package keeps on trucking. As near as I can tell, I've
thrown every switch I can to prevent this from happening. Everything that looks like "fail package on failure" is set to true. Where else do I need to look to make sure the package actually dies when a componet fails?

Heh. Knowing how to reproduce it would fix the problem. Not sure what's making that happen in the first place.
You see how it's a loop in a loop?In the inner loop there is a task called Import Claim. In that task is an OLE DB Source. On Import Claim, there is an onerror event handler that just sets a flag indicating that there was a failure. That flag being set to
true no longer has any real impact on the package. It's an artifact that I don't want to remove because I can't be sure what else depends on it. The way I  have it set is if Import Claim fails it should go down the right path. Instead, the OLE
DB Source turns red then the OLE DB destination turns red but instead of erroring Import Claim, the package will continue to execute down the success path.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud Packager for macintosh fails

Adobe Creative Cloud Packager for macintosh fails.
The error log says "[ERROR] AdobePackageBuilder -  AdobePackageBuilder : SendPacket returned error : -1".
    I tried 4-5 times.
Everything is downloaded (took about 14 Gb).
I now have only 12Gb free space on my disk. Can that be the reason (will the packager need to make a copy of the downloaded stuff?).
When I am done, how do I reclaim the space eaten by the packager?
Seems like it is caching it at ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CCP, but will I manually have to delete that cache?
I cannot find a menu entrance for doing so.
Would be nice if the packager could use a mounted network disk as destination, but it seems not to discover these.
    /Peter Andersen

Wanted to join in and say this has been happening to me too. I wiped every adobe file I could find, and used the cleaner too. Started over from scratch in a brand new user account.
It's been about 7 days and I cannot get CCP to actually build a package. I've gotten a variety of messages but everything single time something fails. The new thing is that it says it fails on individual applications. So I disable them, and the error jumps to a new app. I can see that the .dmg's are fine and intact in ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CCP/
Given the amount of time this has cost me I really wish I had purchased CS6 Master Collection for every workstation. From my perspective, Creative Cloud has been nothing more then a giant waste of time and effort. It's genuinely bad product from an IT management perspective. Why push off the job of building and installer onto the customer? I should just be able to download the full Master Collection dmg, and then turn on and off the apps I want. Instead I am stuck with a workstation down, and everyone using CC trials to work.

  • Parent package shouldn't fail irrespective of that child package fails of success..

    Hi friends,
I have a small requirement here.
we have 10 child packages and one parent package. Calling the child packages from parent.
irrespective of that child package fails of success , parent package should pick the next package..
EX.. Parent package calling the 5th child package, due to some error it got failed. Now parent package shouldn't fail it will skip the 5th child package and  call the next 6th child package ...
if the child package success parent should have to call the next one..
if the child package fails parent package shouldn't fail and it calls the next child package..
How we can implement in this in ssis..

See how you can apply logic as discussed here
The key is to set propagate variable to false within OnError event handler
The logic would be like this with the only exception being you need to use execute package task inside loop

Contact Microsoft support and ask for help.  You've paid for the kit, so installation-time support is part of the expectations.  They'll probably suggest a Repair Permissions and a Verify Disk pass, both performed by booting the installation DVD and using Disk Utility from the Utilities menu item, and selecting those two repairs.

  • OSD TS Fails during package download - SendWinHttpRequest failed. 80072ee2.

    Hi there,
I have a SCCM 2012 R2 environment running on Windows Server 2012 on VMWare Workstation 10.0.1. My TS is deploying Win7x64 to another VM. I am using MDT integration and the first action after "Setup Winodws and ConfigMgr", and restarting from WinPE
to Win7, is "Use Microsoft Deployment Toolkit Package". It always downloads part of the package before it fails on a seemingly random file.
From the F8 prompt i am able to ping the MP/DP. From the MP/DP I am also able to download the file in question using Internet Explorer. From my viewpoint this looks like a transient network error, but I am open to any suggestions at this point. I have also
seen the TS run through without a hitch once, so it seems like it's not perfectly consistent.
Does anyone have any idea as to what could cause this? Where should I be looking? Any troubleshooting tips?

    - Recreated the entire task sequence and all accompanying packages (even bootimages and client)

  • Parent package are getting failed

    hi
i have parent package , which is calling child package using execute package task.
i have error handling in on of the data flow task in child package, so if error comes , the parent package still continue run for another files.
now the issue is , even if child package successful (with  handling error inside), the parent package is logging failed,
ideally, it should be success, as we already handling error ,when task gets failed in child package.
i tried to set propagate , on error to false, still getting error on parent package.
    how  to solve it

If a child package is failing, but handled then the parent will still fail.
Here is a workaround for that. You need to add an event handler on the Execute Package Task with Propagate set to False.

can any one please help me out for this one.ASAP...
       Thanks

    Hi Ychinnari,
Does the stored procedure have any input parameters? The issue may occur because of the incorrect parameters mapping between the SSIS package variables and the stored procedure input parameters. For an Execute SQL Task that executes a stored procedure which
has input parameters, the following rules apply:
Besides, pay more attention to the connection type you use in the Execute SQL Task. If you use ADO.NET connection type but use OleDb Data Provider or Odbc Data Provider, you should use the rule that applies to OLEDB or ODBC connection type in the above tables.
    Reference:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc280502.aspx
If the issue persists, please post more information about the Execute SQL Task settings as well as the full error message.

  • Business package instructor/tutor failed at import

We get a business package instructor/tutor for  LSO and try to import it via system administration->import package.
However it failed. Could you share your experience about how to handle this?   Thanks!

    Hi Linda,
Your business package should be in .SCA or .SDA file format.
This format files can not be imported through System Admin, You need to do the import using SDM.
First start your SDM and then deploy the file. This should work. If you still face problem, please provide the error message.

  • Distribute Package to DistributionPoint failed - TotalFileSizes failed

    Hi,
I've some troubles by distributing (migrated) Packages to some Distribution Points.
In PkgXferMgr.log i can see the following Messages:
    CContentDefinition::TotalFileSizes failed; 0x80070003
    CSendFileAction::SendFiles failed; 0x80070003
Sending failed. Failure count = 50, Restart time = 4/24/2014 7:11:54 AM Eastern Daylight Time
I know, that the ErrorCode means "The system cannot find the path specified." but i've already double checked that the Path is correct and the PrimarySite Server Computeraccount have access to it.
And the package work fine on other Distribution Points.
    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply
Yes, i've also checked the file path (77 characters) and there are also no subfolder with long filepath.
And the strange thing is, that the same packages work on other Distribution Points. There are only 4-5 DPs and ~10 Pkgs effected.

  • Package from AUR failed to install after doing many steps, how to rm?

How can I see what files have been left on my hard drive after a package failed to install. I can't pacman -Rsu the package because it didnt install, but now i got some other packages that i don't need then. and probably some other stuff while the package was being extracted..
How can i prevent from leaving a messy trail?

Yeah gen2ly, i was using yaourt to get a package from AUR.
I was able to uninstall the extra packages that were uninstalled, but is it possible that when the PKGBUILD failed that it left some random files somewhere? That's what I trully want to know. The other dependancies i have already removed.
Hey thanks for the info on unzip, Runiq! unzip works miracles!!!! I installed it, and now the front end "File Roller" AKA "Archive Manager" in Gnome can suddenly handle .zip files! It's awesome! no need for p7zip or xarchiver.
Every newbie or windows transferee should know about it!
But anyways, is it possible the failed PKGBUILD left files somewhere?

  • AppV 5 HF5 packages using /appve fail for regular users on Win 7

    Hello,
I've been struggling with some App-V packages that fail to start on Win 7 machines provided trough Xendesktop.
All packages in question make use of locally installed Internet Explorer 9 and /appve switch  :
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"  /appvve:D89030F5-436B-4A82-A104-A5E5E8089824_6C521CD6-5116-4587-B9E8-E386075F7A79
All other streamed apps can be started fine (the ones not using /appve switch)
If I run this package as  a regular user I always get an error that "Internet Explorer has stopped working" and a error message in the application log:

If I start the application on the same machine using a domain account user the app starts fine.
Internet explorer works fine for the regular users.
On a machine running  Windows server 2008 R2 the same user can start the packages without any problems.
I've been looking at the permissions needed but can't seem to get to the end of this...
Has anyone seen the issue or has any clue what I can do?
    Thanks!

It looks like some others have had issues with the /appvve switch in Citrix environments too:

I wonder if you've approached Citrix about this? I would assume it's something about the way Citrix pass the command

  • [SOLVED]package integrity check fails

I recently ran a pacman -Syu so it downloaded all the files I wanted but when it went to install the packages, the integrity check failed at opera, the error I got was: http://pastebin.com/m447d9848
my questions are, what is the problem? how can I fix it? Is the package corrupted, if so how can I delete it? will deleting the package fix it? thank you for your help
Last edited by MONODA (2008-06-24 06:10:34)

Well,  it isn't the package integrety that is failing.  You just have file conflicts on your system.
Now to fixing them.  Most of these are to do with opera9.50.  Did you previously install opera 9.50 on your system without using pacman?  You should be safe doing a "pacman -Sf opera" to get rid of this.  I would do a "pacman -Qo <file>" on a few of those files to check nothing owns them first, just to be really safe.  You can do the same thing with shared-mime-info.
The /usr/local/share/man issue is a bit more compllicated.  Check what files you have in that directory.  I would move them all to a temporary directory, install the filesystem package, then move them back.  The filesystem package now symlinks /usr/local/man and /usr/local/share/man

  • [SOLVED] Building VCS packages from AUR fails

    Hello,
Whenever I try to build a git or svn package from AUR, build fails with the error in a clean chroot enviroment:

When the build starts, makepkg actually downloads source files properly. Any clues?

Trilby wrote:How many packages has this happened with?  Can you give an example of one that produces this error?  If the download proceeds when the build starts, it sounds like the PKGBUILD is outdated and is manually grabbing the source in the build function (in pacman<4.0 style).

  • Standard Inport Package is getting failed at Convert Data Task

    Hi All,
When running standard import package on any application, it's getting failed at Convert Data Task.
Do any body faced similar kind of issue, please let me know what might be the cause or any solution to the above issue would be appreciated.

    Hi,
The format of dimension members in the external file is different from the BPC internal format. Check your conversion file. The problem is with your conversion file.
    For example:
In the external file Time dimension values is given as Jan, Feb, Mar etc..
In BPC asume you are maintaining time dimension members as 2008.Jan, 2008.Feb etc.
Then you should define this in conversion file. Jan should be replaced by 2008.Jan when it enter BPC application. Also, the values you define in the Internal format should be maintained as master data (dimension members).
