Pacman-key --edit-key without any TTY

Hi, I want to enable package signing on my vServer.
The problem is there is no TTY available.
# LANG=C pacman-key --edit-key 0x6AC6A4C2 ...
gpg: cannot open tty `/dev/tty': No such file or directory
==> ERROR: The key identified by 0x6AC6A4C2 could not be edited.
After adding "no-tty" to gpg.conf:
gpg: Sorry, no terminal at all requested - can't get input
==> ERROR: The key identified by 0x6AC6A4C2 could not be edited.
Please help me to solve this.
Thanks
- Radioactiveman

I have copied the gnupg directory from my PC to the server but that should be just a workaround.
Does nobody have an idea?

  • Sudden prompt for Bitlocker key without Any Hardware, Bios or Software Changes

    Hi
    My 3 Dell Windows 7 Enterprise laptops suddenly prompted me for a Bit locker key with out any changes made to them. I just wanted to find the root cause of the issue as I made no changes to the laptop. Looking at the Microsoft page for Bitlocker failures
    found nothing that might have caused the bitlocker recovery key prompt. One of the three laptops I had in my draw and haven't turned on for few months until yesterday.
    Only common thing between the laptops they were all encrypted about the same time a year ago and until now I have never been prompted for the bit locker recovery key.
    Looking through the system logs I found the two error messages below on all three laptops.

    Hi,
    Please update the BIOS to improve the stability for TPM.
    I also would like to suggest you disable and enable BitLocker again to reset the settings, which may waste you a little time.

  • FCC configuration in Sender File Channel Without any key field name

    Hi Everyone,
    We have below flat file generated from ECC using standard tcode.
    The flat file is fixed length file and first record is header record followed by line items.
    There is no key field name in the file name.
    Can we read the file and convert into xml without any key field name?
    I want to understand if the FCC configuration for above file can be done without key name or not.
    Thanks,
    Vertika

    Hello,
    AFAIK, using FCC i really doubt u can convert file into xml.
    So technically, there are two options either read each line one by one and then do conversions in ur mapping or write a custom module which will read ur input file and convert into xml.

  • [SOLVED] Pacman Key Signing Strange Activity

    Hi,
    I was just setting up the package verification system with pacman when I noticed it was doing something unusual.  When I ran:
    pacman-key --init
    instead of waiting for entropy, it just returned the prompt.  Next, when I ran:
    pacman-key --populate archlinux
    it seemed to go through the entire signing process itself, stating that they didn't need to be signed again (sorry for the vagueness as I can't fetch exactly what it said by redirecting it into a file or something).  The point is, usually I have to confirm each signature.
    Is this normal?
    Last edited by Mindstormscreator (2012-08-26 15:42:40)

    Does the contents of /etc/pacman.d/gnupg look normal? You could compare that directory with the one on the live media (diff -rq) to test that theory.
    When I set up package signing, I think I signed five master keys manually which I'd compared from two somewhat independent sources. After that, I don't remember having to *sign* any more signatures but only to confirm it was OK to import them. And now pacman seems to handle much of that automatically... But it is hard to imagine it would be meant to sign the master keys automatically since that would seem to undermine the point of having them in the first place.
    On a fresh install, too, the init should take longer because so little is going on. (Hence all the threads here about it hanging because people haven't read the instructions for creating entropy .)

  • [SOLVED] Can't sign key with pacman-key

    I've been reading and digging all over the place but I can't seem to find anything on this.
    1. I have created my own keys for signing packages that I want to put in a local repo so I don't have to compile the same package over and over on all my machines.
    2. I have imported said key using sudo pacman-key --add rdjack21.pgp
    3. Used sudo pacman-key --lsign rdjack21 I get this output:
      -> Locally signing key rdjack21...
    ==> ERROR: rdjack21 could not be locally signed.
    4. Ok so lets sudo pacman-key --edit rdjack21  output:
    gpg> sign
    pub  rsa2048/3D1B5544
         created: 2014-11-30  expires: never       usage: SC
         trust: ultimate      validity: ultimate

    Are you sure that you want to sign this key with your

    Really sign? (y/N) y
    gpg: signing failed: No pinentry
    gpg: signing failed: No pinentry
    gpg>
    5. To hack this and make pacman work with my local repo signed by the rdjack21 key I had to change the trust to ultimate but I do not like that solution. I would prefer to sign the key and move the trust back down to full which is where it should be.
    This is happening on all of my boxes not just one of them. I did find something on the web about "No pinentry" message above and the sugestion was to change the owner of the tty I'm using to be root for the signing to work but that did not work for me (su'ed to root first instead of running everything with sudo).
    While changeing the trust works that just feels wrong to me. I really should beable to sign the key.

    Taking a clue post gnupg 2.1.0-4 upgrade breaks passphrase via STDIN I was able to solve the problem and I can now sign keys.
    The solution is add "pinentry-mode loopback" to /etc/pacman.d/gnupg/gpg.conf
    And create the file /etc/pacman.d/gnupg/gpg-agent.conf and put "allow-loopback-pinentry" in the file.
    Once that is done everythings works as expected!
    Marking this as solved.

  • Pacman-key wiki: Incorrect information

    Good Morning all
    The new pacman-key wiki has some misleading information within it, that should be corrected/clarified.
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pa … e_checking
    specifically
    Edit /etc/pacman.conf and uncomment the following line under [options]:
    SigLevel = Never
    try it. The repositories are below this line and therefore the parser takes the last invocation of the SigLevel (global) option at a local level and doesn't honour the setting. You also need to comment any 'SigLevel'  lines within the [core], [community] or [extra] repositories.
    It should be clarified because it causes confusion.
    Thanks

  • Lot size Key without splitting Quota

    Hi,
    Can any one explain me what is the use of Lot size Key without splitting Quota.
    We had created a lot size Key - XY with following seting:-
    1) Lotsize Proceed = P
    2) Lotsize indicator -K
    3) Scheduling =2
    4) No of periods = 1
    5) Splitting Quota = Not checked(blank)
    If we had configured this lot size key, what is the benefits of the above setting, What testing need to be done to know whether this lot size key is working perfectly after configuration?.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    If splitting quota indicator not set, then qouta arrangement is not used during planning wrt to selected lot size.
    Lot size procedure you selected, it is a periodic lot sizing procedure. Here the system groups several requirements within a time interval together to form a lot.
    Lot size indicator  Determines how the lot size is calculated for a certain lot-sizing procedure during material requirements planning. For your selection system creates lot size by refereing to planning calender defined in the system
    Scheduling -
    This indicator defines the time in the period the system is to create the availability date or the start date for the lot for period
    lot-sizing procedures.
    The availability date is the date on which the material, including the goods receipt processing time, is available again. In the MRP  list, the  availability date is equal to the MRP date.
    In in-house production, the start date is the order start date, in external procurement the start date is the release date.
    according to your selection - Availability date at period end
    No of periods - 1
    Run a complete MRP cycel  to check whether it is working properly or not.
    Post the results what you get.
    Regards,
    Pavan

  • Replacing a win8.1 key without activating it

    Hi,
    I'm working a laptop that have a bad key installed. (I'm assuming it was a flagged corporate key.) The owner of the laptop bought a legit key from a local retailer. I did a factory restore to reset everything on the system. Every time I try
    to activate windows I get error 0xc004009 (grace time expired). Fine, I try to enter the new key, I get an error that I can't change the key until windows is activated. (the new key is an upgrade key for 8.1 pro). I've tried the activation procedures with
    secure boot both on and off. I've called the activation number for offline activation and that didn't work. I've tried the different suggestions on this site and they didn't work. I don't want to go back the owner of the laptop and tell him that he has
    to spend another $100 to get a 8.1 premium key just to upgrade to 8.1 pro. Is there anything I can do to force windows to take the new key without activating the OEM key? Any help will be appreciated as I've have already spent several days on this.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    First, I have to say that we can't activate Windows 8.1 with an upgrade key for a OEM Windows 8.1 version. The activation method for retailed and that for OEM version are different. \

    Would you please let me know what the preinstalled Windows version is of this computer, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1?
    Do you have any recovery disc or partition with this computer? If so, the factory restore can be helpful without activation issue.

  • [SOLVED] [pacman] My 'pacman-key --init' issue

    pacman-key --init
    gpg: Generating pacman keychain master key...

    Well, I thought that I could resolve it using random bytes from RANDOM.ORG (http://www.random.org/, in particularly http://www.random.org/bytes/), a really useful website.
    Is it a good solution, or is it mandatory to generate random bytes using my PC? And in that case, how can I use random bytes generated from that site?

  • Will zeroizing and regenerating the Default-RSA-Key affect any other general purpose keys on my ASA 5545x?

    I have an ASA 5545x that is a production device for receiving all AnyConnect VPN traffic for our organization. We purchased and installed a Comodo certificate to create the trust level necessary for our employees to connect. I'm attempting to enable SSH on the device for management purposes, but the current <Default-RSA-Key> does not allow me to initiate a valid SSH session. I have encountered this issue on other ASAs within our organization, and it hasn't been an issue to simply zeroize the current key and regenerate it to restore the ability to SSH to the devices. Where the snag comes in is that this 5545x is the only ASA that has a key installed that wasn't self signed. With that in mind, I have a few questions about whether 3rd-party signed keys are dependent on the self-signed keys on the device. I intend to zeroize both the <Default-RSA-Key> and the <Default-RSA-Key>.server certificates if they will not affect my VPN-associated Comodo key.
    Does the Comodo key depend on other keys existing on the ASA?
    Am I free to zeroize only the <Default-RSA-Key> without affecting the VPN associated Comodo key?
    Here is the result of the command "show crypto key mypubkey rsa" :
    Key pair was generated at: 12:02:29 CDT Aug 19 2014
    Key name: <Default-RSA-Key>
     Usage: General Purpose Key

     Key Data:

    Thank you to any and all that assist me in understanding how the ASA handles certificate keys.

    As long as the Comodo-signed certificate is bound to the my.comodo.key private key (i.e. you used that key when generating the certificate signing request), you should be fine to zeroize the Default-RSA-Key. The latter should ideally only be used for ssh access.

  • Generating a Primary Key WITHOUT using a Sequence Number

    Hi Everyone:
    I am trying to generate a primary key without using a sequence number or row count. What the user wants is the maximum value of the highest primary key already in the row set plus 1.
    For example, this is a Oracle Table (eg. named BatchSubmit) used to initiate batch job submission, and the primary key is an integer named "Runcard_Number". If there are 4 rows in this table and the Runcard_Numbers are 2, 6, 8 & 12, then the next generated Runcard_Number would be 13.
    I have looked throughout this forum and see how to generate numbers using a DBSequence, but the user does not want that. The numbers mean something to them, and they don't want them randomly assigned other than the max in the rowset plus 1. To do it in SQL it would be - select max(Runcard_Number) + 1 from BatchSubmit;
    I have been looking at using a hasnext loop and moving the maximum value to the new Runcard_Number, but I am very new to JHeadstart/JDev and I do not know where to put this. I am assuming the BatchSubmitImpl.java, but I'm not sure where to put it or which method to utilize
    I would appreciate any assistance.

    Mary you're in luck, 'cause, I've been playing with the same thing, these days and found that..
    You can do that in two ways (that I know):
    - by calling a stored function that does max+1 (you can look it up in Dev's guide for Forms&4GLDevs 10g chapter 25.5 Invoking Stored Procedures and Functions)
    - by calling hardcoded or dinamicaly written statement, that does the same
    public Number callStatement(String stmt)
    Number id = new Number(0);
    Row idRow = getDBTransaction().createViewObjectFromQueryStmt(stmt).next();
    if(idRow != null)
    Object o = idRow.getAttribute(0);
    if(o != null)
    if(o instanceof Number)
    id = (Number)o;
    else
    throw new JboException("Conversion error!");
    return id;
    You should call it in
    protected void doDML(int operation, TransactionEvent transactionEvent)
    switch (operation)
    case DML_INSERT:
    // call here
    super.doDML(operation, transactionEvent);
    break;
    case DML_UPDATE:
    super.doDML(operation, transactionEvent);
    break;
    case DML_DELETE:
    super.doDML(operation, transactionEvent);
    break;
    Enjoy!

    Whoa... I was googling around and no one seems to have encountered this problem before. I had JUST chrooted into the environment to install:
    I was following this pretty carefully as far as I can tell:
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/In … ting_Linux
    Any guesses? I tried following the tips on dbus etc. None of these tips seemed helpful cuz none of those files exist. This is just the bootstrap installer.
    Thanks, Oh MySQL !!

  • Pacman-key

    The tone and remarks concerning pacman-key in the wiki indicate PGP signing is upcoming(although not yet default).
    Not really needing such a system if I utilize pacman for upgrades regularly, I find it not a welcome change.
    I wonder, for example, if a custom raid boot is utilized not utilizing user but only root will not accept the pacman-key system.
    This seems to violate the KISS principle as well making the system more complex and subject to interface whammies not yet envisioned.
    Attempting to upgrade this date resulted in no package upgrade w/o pacman-key.
    If I try to upgrade w/o pacman-key included...... what then?
    Can I disregard pacman-key and run ---Syuf....to upgrade?  Am I shut off from upgrades w/o pacman-key?
