Password expiry warning message

Hi Security experts,
Is it possible to get an a pop-up warning message similar like windows/lotus notes like password expiry before couple of days in GUI/Portal.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Pavan

Hi,
there is a user exit SUSR0001 that is called right after dialog logon (no RFC, no web) which can be used to display a pop up message. Good question is if it's called also for business client. I assume that it's not but I can't test it right now.
Cheers

  • Unable to raise password expiry warning exception in OID using JAVA API

    Hi,
    We are maintaing the user information for our application in OID(9.2). During logon, it is required that a warning is given to the user according to the value set in "Password Expiration Warning" parameter.
    A pl/sql program (using DBMS_LDAP/DBMS_LDAP_UTL packages) written to test password expiry raises the PWD_EXPIRE_WARN exception as expected. However we are unable to simulate the same using the JAVA APIs.
    We did try some thing like the following:
    public class SampleExpire {
    public static void main(String argv[])
    throws NamingException {
    // Create InitialDirContext
    InitialDirContext ctx = ConnectionUtil.getDefaultDirCtx( "TCS-UUODC4",
    "4032",
    "cn=orcladmin",
    "welc0me" );
    System.out.println("Hello");
    // Create User Objects
    User myuser = null,
    try {
    // Create User using a subscriber DN and the User DN
    myuser = new User ( ctx,
    Util.IDTYPE_DN,
    "uid=C100013, ou=People, o=UUSD",
    Util.IDTYPE_DN,
    "ou=People, o=UUSD",
    false );
    catch ( UtilException e ) {
    * Exception encountered in User object constructor
    System.out.println("User creation failed");
    // Authenticate User
    try {
    myuser.authenticateUser(ctx,User.CREDTYPE_PASSWD,"Z100013");
    catch ( UtilException e ) {
    * Authenticate fails
    System.out.println("Authentication failed");
    } // End of SampleExpire.java
    The authenticate user does not raise any exception.
    Am I missing something ?

    Hi,
    did you manage to solve this problem? Please let me know

  • Changing the password warning message

    The password component of our credit card statement comprises of upper case alphabets only. However, if i enter an incorrect password, it gives us a warning message that "Please make sure your caps lock is not on by mistake". This is an incorrect message for us since the password works only with the upper case in our scenario. Please help in changing this warning message while trying to open the PDF. Am also attaching the screen shot.

    This is just a general 'incorrect password' warning, with a suggestion for a very common mistake.  I don't think the checking mechanism actually checks for upper/lower case characters.

  • Warning message of password expire

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement. When user password is going expire in 5 days, there should be warning message when user logs into portal  which says "your password is going expire in 5 days, please change".
    How achieve this functionality in portal, please advice.
    Thanks,
    Santosh.

    You can call ABAP RFC to get expiration date. You can create portal application using Netweaver Developer Studio.
    File->New->Other->Portal Application->Create a Portal Application Project
    Then right click on the left side project name Create a New Application Object.
    Here you can write code.

  • Warning message in ITS MOBILE

    Hello,
    In ITS Mobile after entering user name and password it takes me to LM00 transaction.
    But before LM00 transaction is displayed I get 4 warning messages. I need to press OK/Close for each message. The same warning message appears when I move between transaction in the RF Menu also. I don't get any warning message if I test the same in the internet explorer in desktop.
    Below is the warning message displayed:
    Warning message u2018Microsoft Jscript runtime error, Line:304, Character:1, Error: Object doesnu2019t support this property or method, Source :(Null)u2019
    I use handheld MC9090 with Windows Mobile 5.
    Regards,
    Karthik

    Hello Karthik,
    Is the logon screen the ITSmobile logon screen?  It sounds like your system is configured to use the standard logon, which would result in a javascript error on some mobile browsers.  Please go to SICF and make sure that your service's settings are the same as for the itsmobile00 service.

  • Need to convert Error message to Warning message in MIGO

    Hi Guys,
                   I need a warning message instead of error message in MIGO.
    For example if a material is having shell life expiry when i am doing GR,if I dont enter the Manufacturing date.Its gives a error meesage.
    The error message is in program MM07MMHD, MESSAGE e018(12).
    In configuration when i press F4 its has only one value 'E'.
    So how to change this to warning (W) instead of 'E'.
    Thanks,
    Prasad.

    Hello,
    Check the message in these T.Code and change category from E to W.
    OPJB for production messages
    OBA5 for CO messages
    OMT4 for material master messages
    OMCQ Batch and quantity related.
    Also you can check SE91 for this.

    1.) Individual password policy setup in directory server to lockout accounts after 3 failed login attempts.
    2.) Account lockout option enabled in Access Manager to lockout accounts after 3 failed login attempts.
    The issue that I face is the following:
    After, 3 consecutive failed login attempts and from the fourth login attempt,
    the Access manager does not give
    any error/warning messages on the browser, but redirects the user back to the login screen as the
    account is locked/inactive.
    This is sort of annoying as the user is confused as to why he is being redirected to the
    login screen.
    This issue is very much reproducible as below:
    1.) Create an individual password policy to lockout user after 3 failed login attempts and assign it to the specific user.
    2.) configure access manager to lock the account after 3 failed login attempts.
    3.) on attempting to login on the fourth attempt (correct or incorrect) the user is redirected to the login screen without any warning.
    Is this a known issue in Access Manager ?
    Can we configure the Access Manager so that a warning message is provided to the user after the account is locked.
    Thanks,

    This option has been set and we do get a warning after the second failed login attempt.
    When a failed login occurs the third time consecutively the user account is locked and a warning is shown.
    However, now if the user tries to login (say fourth time with the correct/incorrect password) he is redirected back to the login screen without any warning or error messages.
    This seems to be annoying as the user is redirected back to the login screen continuously without any messages.
    I am able to reproduce this problem on my test box and was wondering
    if this is a known issue.
    Thanks,

  • AnyConnect VPN Warning Message

    Hi
    I have setup AnyConnect VPN and all works fine apart from the warning messages appearing about the server being Untrusted.
    I am not too good with certificates so any help will be much appreciated. When I open anyconnect client and click connect, the warning appears then so I click continue anyway to carry on. Then after entering username//password the warning appears a second time and again i click continue and carry on.
    We had a wildcard certificate so I installed in on the asa in the CA certificates section, Now the 2nd warning has gone but the first one still appears.
    Any ideas???
    Thanks

    You can simply accept the self-signed certificate the first time you are presented with that message and direct AnyConnect to always trust such certificates.
    If you don't want to do that, you need to make your clients automatically trust this certificate from your ASA. You can do that several ways. You mentioned using a 3rd party vendor - that ends up being the method of using a vendor in the trusted root Certificate Authority (CA) list. If you don't use one of the 3rd party ones, you will need to push out the trust via some software deployment method - e.g. a GPO for Windows clients in a managed AD setup or via pre-deploying with yet another 3rd party tool like LANdesk.
    If you don't have an internal CA or AD-managed infrastructure for your clients then just telling users to click "always trust" is the path of least resistance (although the least secure).

  • Office 2010 BEx warning message  Worksheet BExReporsitory Sheet is protecte

    Hi gurus,

    We are on Fronend Patch 201. There the issue occures. I thought it was a bug in FEP 201 maybe so i upgraded to FEP 401 but the warnbing message persists. Can anyone help or give me a hint?
    I dont want it to do it for all IP-Layouts seperately with surrpress messages.
    Why does this happen?
    Thanks and regards,
    Murat

    Hi Murat,
    Please take a look at SAP Note 1498919.
    This Note contains the limitations with Office 2010 and BEX but also contains workarounds for using Office 2010.
    Hope this helps!
    Kind regards,

  • How can I disable the low ink warning messages.

    How can I disable the low ink warning messages.  The Photosmart Plus B210 printer is connected wirelessly to my Mac over a home network..

    Open up a terminal (use spotlight to search for 'terminal')
    Find the process ID of the HP Device monitor by doing
    ps -eo pid,command | grep "HP Device Monitor"
    The process id will be the number that is printed. Sometimes you may see two results, the correct result to use should print "/Library/Printers/hp/hpio/HP Device Monitor.app/Contents/MacOS/HP Device Monitor"
    Then using the number you got from the first step, run the following command.
    sudo kill -9 <pid>; sudo rm -rf "/Library/Printers/hp/hpio/HP Device Monitor.app/Contents/MacOS/HP Device Monitor"
    You will be prompted for your admin password.
    Below is an example of when I ran it:
    John-MacBook-Pro:~ john$ ps -eo pid,command | grep "HP Device Monitor"
    90509   /Library/Printers/hp/hpio/HP Device Monitor.app/Contents/MacOS/HP Device Monitor
    90513 grep "HP Device Monitor"
    John-MacBook-Pro:~ john$ sudo kill -9 90509; sudo rm -rf "/Library/Printers/hp/hpio/HP Device Monitor.app/Contents/MacOS/HP Device Monitor"

  • Prime Infra 2.0 : Warning message eval license even if permanent license is installed

    Hi,
    Customer has installed PI 2.0 with a eval license.
    Since we have installed the permanent license, he stills have a warning message that says "The license for Lifecycle and Assurance features will expire in 50 days ..."
    If we go to Administration-> License -> Sumary-> License, we can see something like that:
    Serial Number
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Lifecycle
    97% (1 of 100 devices used)
    -- Evaluation 50 days remaining
    Assurance
    0% (0 of 100 devices used)
    -- Evaluation 50 days remaining
    Collector
    0% (Limit: 20 000; Avg: 0 fps)
    -- Evaluation 50 days remaining
    I would like to be sure that when evaluation license will expire, the permanent license will work.
    Many thanks, Elisabeth

    This is covered by bug ID: CSCul20922 - PI 2.0 shows evalution license  after restore, wont apply new licensing and CSCuj32554    After migration to PI 2.0 old licenses are not detected.
    Workarounds for PI 2.0 are:
    Become root on the PI 2.0 system
    If you have not enabled root from the admin login, type root_enable and provide a password for root. Press enter and confirm the password.
    To become root from the admin login, type root, press enter and provide the password.
    You should get the ade# prompt. Continue with the instructions below...
    cd /opt/CSCOlumos/licenses
    mkdir old
    mv *.lic ./old
    mv restored.cfg ./old
    run the script /opt/CSCOlumos/bin/license_post_restore.sh if it is restored server.
    From the UI, login as root and install the licenses from this interface, BASE first, then remaining licenses
    Logout for licenses to take effect
    Login to verify licenses are installed.
    Lastly from the CLI, rm -rf /opt/CSCOlumos/licenses/old
    Exit root login by typing exit, should return the Admin prompt.
    If you have issues or unsure about performing the workaround, open a TAC case for assistance.

  • Cannot remove warning message from screen

    I work remotely and use Outlook Web App to access my emails.
    Everything works fine other than I always get this warning message:
    which I cannot remove as the 'Continue' option is unresponsive to clicks.
    Anyone have any ideas how to cure this??
    Many thanks.

    The server has a self-signed certificate, which means that the people in charge of it don't know how to do their job. That's not a problem I can help you with. However, the warning dialog should not be unresponsive.
    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • Email warning message...does this mean my bt email...

    I had a spate of these email warning messages (oddly enough AFTER bt had prompted me to change my password).  Then I had a complaint from a friend about receiving emails - purportedly from me - promoting some website.  Ran a virus scan.  All quiet.
    I've just got another one.
    "This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
    A message that you sent has not yet been delivered to one or more of its
    recipients after more than 48 hours on the queue on lserver.vanessacox.com"
    which is different from the previous message, which was:
    "This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
    A message that you sent has not yet been delivered to one or more of its
    recipients after more than 48 hours on the queue on mercury.anticlown.com"
    Does this mean my account has been hacked twice now??  Or what?  And what should I do about it?
    Help?
    Thanks.
    **Here today....blonde tomorrow**

    The email that you had "from BT", areyou sure it was from BT. Did you click on links within the email to change your passwrod. If you did it was possible that the email was a phishing email and that by doing the password change you gave the hackers access to your email account and all you contacts details.
    You should have a read through this link and follow the instructions and check that there is no forwarding email addresses set up etc. Change your password and security questions.
    http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/39411/?s_intcid=con_L1:Technical help:L2:Email or security:sab:locked
    The hacker will now have your contacts details and can use them at will and spoof your email address which will make any emails they send appear as though they have come from you. There is not much you can do about that now other than start using a new email address and tell your contacts to delete any emails that come from your hacked address.

  • Red warning message flashes at top?

    I've been noticing some really weird stuff with my iPhone 4 lately and I'm wondering if my phone is compromised in some way.
    1.  On a phone call once my phone just dialied out on its own while I was talking, and I started to hear a message saying "this caller is not receiving calls now" or something similar, but I was still on my original call. It wasn't put on hold or anything, I just saw the call out appear on my screen and I had to hang it up.
    2.  When ending a call, I sometimes see a red bar lower at the top, looks like it might be a warning message or something, but it flashes by so quickly I can't see any text it rolls back up before anything shows.
    Does this mean my phone is being surveiled or something? (Ex. husband is known for hiring private investigators to follow me, so that's why I'm so concerned).
    I was thinking of making a backup and then restoring the phone, but I'm afraid that if I do the backup, it won't make a difference when I add all my stuff back in.. or worse yet, I'm not sure if it would compromise my computer too.
    thanks~

    1 sounds like issues with the proximity sensor and your ear/cheek is touching something when the screen should be asleep. If you have a case and/or screen protector on the phone, remove them and see if it behaves better. They can interfere with the proximity sensor depending on the design.
    2 Nothing to worry about. Probably the other party ending the call at the same time and the phone was going to let you know the call was terminated, but oh... never mind... you hung up too... If the phone is not jailbroken, it's virtually impossible for your ex to be using it to track you. The only exception would be if you have find my iphone set up and he knows the password... If there's a chance of that, change it.
