Patch installation issue on ACS 5.1

Hi,
I have one ACS server (5.1) in the Dev environment. I am trying to install the patch 5-1-0-44-6 before upgrading to 5.3. When I try to install the patch, the server doesn't do anything, after few hours, I dodn't see any changes on the server. Here is my version info:
Cisco ACS VERSION INFORMATION
Version : 5.1.0.44
Internal Build ID : B.2347.EVAL
If anybody experinced the same problem or know how to solve this issue, please share.
Thanks!

I have managed to bind the certificate now. I went to check the link given to me by the CA and found two certificates, one in PKCS#7 and X509 format. I tried the X509 format and the ACS successfully binded it.
It works but I want to know how it all works.PKCS#7 includes the Intermediate CA while X509 doesn't. The X509 certificate comes with a message stating that Intermediate CA needs to be installed seperately. I have found it and can install it, but what is it used for? I also found the CA certificate. So there is three certificate, CA, Intermediate CA and X509. How does it all come together, or does anyone have a link on a good guide on how it works?
I am trying to configure wireless authentication using PEAP-MSCHAPv2 using Cisco WLC, ACS as RADIUS server and Windows AD as the database. Is there anything I need to know about certificates in this deployment?

  • ACS SE 4.1.1.23 patch 5 issue with users

HI There, I am facing very weired issue with ACS SE 4.1.1.23 patch 5. I am trying to add users in ACS it is added successfully but I can not see these users when I click list all users.
But I can see users are increasing in groups when I add users..but when I do list all users it say there are no users defined. and I tried to login with newly created users from devices  ....I am able to login with those new users.....
also when I go to that particular group in which I added new users....and say list users in group...I get message from ACS saying that "can not read users from group" ....
what could be issue any one has any idea....customer complained that he was unable to login to devices...with the users created on ACS...when I saw there was no users in database....then I added 2-3 users by looking at old passed and failed authentication... but I dont know how users got deleted automatically...even I tried to see appliance audit logs...could not see any thing which indicates someone deleted users...
please help me to solve this issue..
    Thanks

Issue resolved. The CRL that was being parsed from the cert was one level higher than the CRL that needed to be checked. The User CRL was ppointing to the Intermediate CA's CRL. I had to manually change the URL from this:
    http://DOMAINvmsp.DOMAIN.xxxx-xx.edu/pkipub/DOMAIN%20Intermediate%20CA%201.crl
    to this:
    http://DOMAINvmsp.DOMAIN.xxxx-xx.edu/pkipub/DOMAIN%20User%20CA%201.crl

  • Patch installation EP 6.0 SP9 issues

    Hi ,
During the installation of EP which has been installed as follows
    -Oracle 9.2.0.6
-SAP Web AS 6.4 SR1 . (Only central instance and the database instance
    with no seperate dialog instances)
    -EP 6.0 SP9 SR1
    -KMC
The SAP note 766765 mentioned in the guide "EP60SP9Install_SR1_v5.pdf"
asks me to install the patch for KMC which later on directs me to
"NW_SP_STACK09_109.pdf" the support package guide for SP09 .
In the section "2 Support Package Stack 09" under the heading "2.1 List
of Required Support Packages" of this guide it gives me a list of support
packages . I have downloaded the required packages for the technical
scenario "SAP enterprise portal" . They are for Web AS , Portal
paltformand KMC and I assume that I have to install all of them . Now I
    go to the
section "4.4 SAP Web AS Java" which is on page 62 of the guide .Here
under the section "4.4.2 Preparation" it says the following
" If Portal Platform and Knowledge Management and Collaboration (KMC) are
running on your Web AS Java, apply KMC Patch 2 for SAP NetWeaver '04
Support Package Stack 05 before patching this Web AS Java. For more
    information, see SAP Note 772515.
While typically patches are included in the next support package, in this
case you must install Patch 2 for KMC prior to applying the Support
Package Stack to Web AS Java. "
ISSUE 1 : When I check for the SAP note 772515, the service marketplace
says "Note 772515 is not released." Now I am stuck with the
installationas I don't know where to find the KMC Patch 2 and secondly
what relevantinformation I will be missing about this patch( let's say Ifind the
patch myself ) , if I intend to ignore the inexistance of SAP note 772515 .
In the section "4.4.2 Preparation" of the support package stack guide
SP09 under the heading "Windows only" it says in the "Action"
"Make sure that SAP MMC and the Microsoft Service Management Console
    are not running."
ISSUE 2 : If this is what I do then I cannot install the patch because
during the intial information capture with SAPINST it validates the
userpwd for the user DDIC . For this it needs to establish the RFC
conectionwhich it cannot , as the MMC is down . Similarily it does for
    the J2EE
engine parameters and this will not happen again as the MMC is down .
Now I am not sure if I keep the MMC running and start with the patch
installation , what damage will I cause to the already installed system
I need your help in the above mentioned issues asap as the delay in the
installation will effect the delivery schedule of the project .

    Hi Deepak,
    > I need your help in the above mentioned issues
    > asap as the delay in the installation will effect
    > the delivery schedule of the project .
If that is so, please open an OSS message to SAP. There is no guaranteed answering time in SDN.

  • Forms 10g Installation issue on windows 7 Professional service pack 1

    hi
I am trying to install oracle forms 10g  64 bit windows 7 Professional service pack 1 ..
Below are 2 files that i am using ..
    ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip (626,122,752 bytes)
    ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip (236,880,881 bytes)
But it failed but the error is ..
Checking operating system version: must be 4.0, 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2.    Actual 6.1     Failed <<<<
just wondering if there are any workaround ..

Christian is right - Forms 10g R2 (version 10.1.2.0.2) is not certified for installation on Windows 7.  You must apply a Forms 10g R2 patch to bring the version to 10.1.2.3.0 for it to be certified.  You must have a My Oracle Support account to obtain the patch.
Now, to your question - is there a workaround; the answer is yes.  There are known issues with this installer.  I'll list them and their workaround.
    1.  The Oracle installer checks for a specific set of Windows versions rather than check for a minimum Windows version.
Workaround:  Right-click the Installer and select Properties.  Click the Compatibility tab and click the checkbox: Run this program in compatibility mode for:  Windows XP SP3).
    2.  The Oracle Installer can't detect Windows Managed Virtual Memory (VM).
Workaround:  You must temporarily change the Virtual Memory settings and specify specific Initial and Maximum sizes.  See this Microsoft article for more information on changing VM settings.  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/change-the-size-of-virtual-memory
This change will require you to restart your computer.  After you have successfully installed Oracle Forms 10g, you can restore the original VM settings.
    3.  The Oracle installer MUST be installed as an "Administrator".
Workaround:  Windows 7 uses "Least privileged user" so you must right-click the Installer and select the Compatibility tab.  Click the "Run this program as an administrator" checkbox.
    4.  Not a Oracle installer issue, but you will have to install the 32-bit version of the Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE) (1.6.0 - not 1.7.0) because Oracle Forms is a 32-bit application so it will not be able to use the 64-bit JRE.
Run the Oracle installer and it should now install succesfully.

  • Every PATCH installation fails after installing Windows Updates

    Hello,
I want to report an issue which I think is a Windows bug introduced by one of the Windows updates (unfortunately I wasn't able to find out which one of them).
    Here is the test case:
    1. install a fresh copy of Windows on a test machine
    2. install all available Windows Updates (so the system is up to date)
    3. create a sample MSI installer which only installs some dummy files (let's say Product Version 1.0.0) and host it on a web server
    4. install the MSI from the online location using a command line like this:
    msiexec /i http://server/share/package.msi
    5. create a .MSP patch (e.g. v1.0.1) which only adds a new file to v1.0.0
    6. install the v1.0.1 patch
RESULT: the patch installation fails with the following error message: "The filename , directory name , or volume label syntax is incorrect"
    NOTES:
    1. the issue was replicated on Windows 7 and 8 machines UP TO DATE
    2. the issue is not replicated on a fresh installation of Windows without Updates applied
Is there anyone aware of what could cause this error? Once again the patch installation fails only on Windows machines with the latest Updates installed.

    Hi,
I am using SCCM 2007 R3 at client site, Since from Jan 2015 and for Feb 2015 also i am facing a problem in Windows 7 32bit OS Patch installation failure on Client PC. I am creating a bundle for Windows 7 OS Patch's and targeting these monthly patches to
windows 7 Collection having X86 and X64 bit OS.
From All the Deployed Patches only X64 bit Win 7 PC's are getting successfully Update.
BUT on all X86(32Bit) win 7 OS there was Installation Failed Error. The UPDATES are getting successfully downloaded in CACHE folder on client PC's but while installation they are getting failed. I have tried reinstalling SCCM Client on PC but problem persists.
Checked number of forum's and done WUA re-installtion  as well, Tried downloading new patches for win7 32 bit and deployed again, but no +ve result. WSUS reconfigured and reinstalled and approved all patches again, again no solution.
Updates for all other OS's Like Win 8, 8.1 Server 2003,2008 and 2012 for X86 and C64 all working fine.
Updateshandler.log Giving :---- Update execution failed.

    1. We have tried downloading patch again & again . Try to push them trough SCCM targeting win7 collection having x-86 & x-64 bit OS.
    2. Tried manual installation of . Cab files also on 10 win 7 x-86 PC's but all failing with error code.0x800706f7. This code shows The stub received bad data. In both cases (manual & SCCM )
    3. Even tried downloading .MSU files for same KB article that also not getting installed
    4. Monitored Windowsupdate.log & DISM.log & CBS.log
Handler Fatal: CBS called error with 0x800706f7
warning exit code=0x00000000; call error code=0x80240022
    5. Tried renaming windir/Softwaredeployment folder to windir/Softwaredeployment.log & run SFC /Scannow
0x800706F7 -2147023113 RPC_X_Bad_Stub_Data This can occur after a control selfupdate that has not fully completed and requires a reboot. The controls may need to be reregistered.
This seems related to a problem within Windows, and ConfigMgr is not at fault - Windows has a severe issue which is affecting the servicing stack.

  • Toshiba Video Player v5.3.49.124_A-patch installation

    Hi
I'm trying to install an update to Toshiba Video Player released on February 15th 2015 - version 5.3.49.124_A patch. The problem is, as soon as I try to install it its says that its extracting the file and then an error message appears, "Unable to create file, error 120." Please help in trying to resolve the above error.
    Thank You,
    Inayat

Hmmmm.... as I can see you don't have original factory settings anymore. In the past I have always installed updates on original OS version and cannot say if Win update is the reason for described issue.
But original player version is still installed on your machine and works properly, right?
I mean if everything is OK I think patch installation is not so necessary.

  • Lightroom 4.2 Installation Issue

Leaving this around in case anyone else has the same problem -- Solution found -- Windows installer issues / registry issues -- used the Microsoft Fix it tool (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651#reso3) to correct.  4.2 install ran fine.
I've read through the posts in the Lightroom forum regarding  LR 4.2 install issues. I will list here the things I've done to try to get the install to work:
    1) Downloaded the installation software twice.
    2) Ran the setup program in admin user mode.
    3) Ran the install in admin user mode.
    4) Get the following error in a Windows Installer window:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi' in the box below.
    Use source:
    c:\Users\RMJF\AppData\Local\Temp\{...}
What I have found (after displaying hidden AppData folder):
The location where the .msi file resides is different from the one defaulting in the above window.
I select this alternate path, but still cannot complete the installation.
Furthermore, when I cancel the install, I get this error:
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2 64-bit Installer Info
Error 1714. The older version of Adobe Photoshop Lightoom 4.2 64-bit cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group
I have been running LR since the beginning of time and most recently LR 4.1, so there is no 4.2 installed.
Also, I tried to fix the install of 4.1 via the programs in Control Panel. I cannot repair it and get this error:
The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.
All versions (except the 1.0 version) were downloaded and installed from the Adobe LR site.
    So, looking for suggestions.
Seems like there are some missing files from the 4.1 version that are hindering the install of 4.2???
All quite frustrating.  Hope you can get me to a speedy solution.
(System info:  Windows Vista 64-bit Home, SP 2, 20 GB of disk space to spare!  Also, I have set the install program to be allowed by the anti-virus program. I have run a registry clean-up, as well.  No other apps are running during the install.)

  • NWDS installation issue - "Please wait... completing the install"

    Hi all,
I got the same "Problem" each time I update my NWDS.
[Re: NWDS installation issue.|Re: NWDS installation issue.]
After the installation, when I start the NWDS I get always the message:
    "Please wait... completing the install"
If I create a new Workspace this really solves the problem but I don't like to create every time a new workspace after an update and copy all my projects back to this new workspace.
Is there no other solution around? I think I'm not the only one who has this troubles, am I?
    Regards,

    Hi all,
I solved this problem by myself. So for everyone who is interested in how to solve this problem:
Just delete the folder .config in
    \workspace\.metadata\
During the next start of NWDS this folder will be created and everything will work as excpected!
