Performance Manager running, but collecting no data

I have configured PM on my Fabric Manager server and verified that the service is running. However, when I look at the PM reports, all the graphs are blank.
The logs contain quite a few of the following errors:
WARNING 2006/03/23 12:51:23 PM PMStat database error: NPort 10000000c9371482 not found in fabric discovery, performance data is not updated in database
Any help in debugging this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

So let me understand better, you have a Brocade switch in this VSAN, you are running this VSAN in interop mode 2 or 3 ?
You should be able to Create collections for the ISL's and devices on the MDS side, flows can not be created for devices from/to Brocade but can be created to and from FC devices in the MDS part of the VSAN

  • How do I perform a trigger that collect the data for every rising edge continuously and then automatically put the data in a .xls file??

I need to collect the data for every rising edge a trigger perfoms. So far I could collect the data but it seems that it only collect the data in the start of triggering, but not continuously. I also want to put the data in an excel spreadsheet and automatically add new set of data when the next rising edge occur. Please help.
    thanks a lot.

LabWindows/CVI actually ships with a comprehensive set of examples for just about every area of programming you can use it in, including triggered analog data acquisition and ActiveX control of Microsoft Excel for data logging. Go to the following two directories on your computer to find respective examples for the two areas you are inquiring about:
    1) C:\MeasurementStudio\CVI\samples\DAQ\Ai\DAQsingleBufExtTrig.PRJ
    2) C:\MeasurementStudio\CVI\samples\activex\excel\excel2000dem.prj
Just make sure to study the examples carefully so that you fully understand the processes followed for triggered analog acquisition and the process of launching an ActiveX automation server for control, and then you should be able to merge the concepts shown in both of the example
s to make the application you desire.

  • Object Manager running but will not display

The problem I'm having is that Im having problems displaying the object

The web top show that it is running but I'm not getting a display. I have
tried from a client pc and from the server itself.
I have also tried using the native client, this has the same problem.
    Any ideas?

after making changes to SSH config, you need to restart sshd.
Also see if disabling Xsecurity on the EE server helps.
         $ tarantella config edit --security-xsecurity 0

  • Performance manager collection

The majority of the host end device data is collected but there are hosts that there is no data just n/a in the following fields:
Avg. Rx/sec Avg. Tx/sec (Rx+Tx)/sec Peak Tx/sec Peak Tx/sec Errors Discards all have n/a entries. How do I enable the collection for these hosts.

Performance Manager does not collect statistics on nonmanageable and non-MDS switches. Loop devices (FL/NL) are not collected.
One year's worth of data for two variables (Rx and Tx bytes) requires a round-robin database (rrd) file size of 76 K. If errors and discards are also collected, the rrd file size becomes 110 K. The default internal values are as follows:
•600 samples of 5 minutes (2 days and 2 hours)
    •700 samples of 30 minutes (12.5 days)
    •775 samples of 2 hours (50 days)
    •300 samples of 1 day
A 1000-port SAN requires 110 MB for a year's worth of historical data that includes errors and discards. If there were 20 switches in this SAN with equal distribution of fabric ports, about two to three SNMP packets per switch would be sent every 5 minutes for a total of about 100 request or response SNMP packets required to monitor the data.
Because of their variable counter requests, flows are more difficult to predict storage space requirements for. But in general you can expect that, each extra flow adds another 76 KB.

Hi John, From the output you shared it looks like you using Performance Advisor and want to share a graph of a 7-mode system.  The instructions link you shared is from Performance Manager which is for Clustered Data ONTAP only.  In the Performance Advisor there is unfortunately no way to share a link.  You can 'save as' to png as you probably already saw, or you can use the dfm CLI to generate the same and email, perhaps as a daily report.  There is also a data collector that will post to the NetApp ToolChest that submits data to Graphite with dashboards in Grafana.  This solution would allow sharing of a URL like you desire.  If you want more info on this let me know. Kind Regards,Chris MaddenStorage Architect, NetApp

  • Performance Manager LUN latency

Hello,Can you tell me if I can see LUN layer latency in OnCommand Performance Manager ? I can see the LUNs on volume but performance data seems to be gathered only on Volume level. Can I see it also on LUN level? And another question - is there any way to disable performance alerts until certain latency? F.e. I don't want to see alerts for 5ms latency especially as they are logged as critical. It really makes no sense so for the moment I have disabled all performance alerts.

  • Performance Manager graphs "export" via url

Hi, I am using performance manager (I think).... when I do a Help->About->Configuration I get this : Application name: NetApp Management Console Version: 3.3 Build number: 3.3.0.7209 Installation directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\NetApp\Management Console Java VM OS Architecture: x86 OS Name: Windows Server 2008 R2 OS Version: 6.1 Java VM Name: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM Java Version: 1.6.0_29 Java Vendor: Sun Microsystems Inc. However, I want *others* to be able to see that graph, too - not necessarily admins (ie, management types). I don't want them to have to log into the app to see it, either. In some docs I've seen an option called "copy link to page", which seems like EXACTLY what I'd like to do - copy the link to the page I'm looking at, and then send that link to the others that I want to be able to see it.  (see https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1552961/html/GUID-E000CFC4-C568-4181-AAB5-790BF331FD6C.html). However, that option does not show up under my "Actions" pulldown, like the link above says it should. Does anyone know where to find this option, and/or how to acomplish the same thing ? I was thinking there must be a "standard" url that points to these types of graphs, but can't find any reference to that, though.     Thanks,      John

  • Performance Manager  and Data Gatherer

    Hello,
I am looking for some basic info (I think). I have been using the EM Console - standalone for some time now but would like to use the diagnostic pack and Performance Manager. Can this be used in a standalone configuration or do I need to buy Enterprise Manager? If it works in a standalone configuration and I do not need to buy it, could you point me in the direction of documentation on how to start the data gatherer on my 9i database on AIX 5?
    Thanks,

you have to find the keyword to see...
i suggest you to uninstall businessobjects and install again(else it's very hard to add the performance management program).
while you install, check the install performance management also(you have to have the keyword).

  • Pre-Populate Data in HRMS Performance Management

    Hi experts !
My question may be a bit basic as I am not an expert on HRMS but if anyone one can give me a hint , will really appreciate the help.
Our customer is using the performance management module (appraisals) for capturing the annual reports of employees. Moreover, the assignment history is also being captured. My question is regarding a use case. If an employee has performed her duties under a specific supervisor, her annual report is also suppoed to be written by that specific supervisor even if at the time of annual report e.g 1 Jan of each year, she has moved to the other department.  Moreover, based on the nature of job, a group of employees have a specific appraisal form which we have customized.
My question is that is it possible in the standard performance management module that it automatically populates the dates an employee had performed under that specific supervisor and based on the job of the employee, the relevant form is also selected.
I hope my question makes a bit of sense and is answerable.
    Really appreciate your response.

  • Performance manager-collection,flow

Hi, in the collection wizard I can't find port-channel interfaces ( ISLs ). But in the real-time monitoring I can monitor all ISLs and port-channels. How can I collect history of port-channels? I have also IVR configured and I am not able to setup flows for IVR source and destination. I don't see the devices in the flow wizard. I see only devices within a single VSAN. How can I do that? Thanks in advance for Your Help.

I opened a TAC case and the answer is:
Customer can create a collection with the performance manager for ISLs,
host, storage and the flows, not for the port channels. (Port channels
are not supported) The wizard is not able to be used for the the flow
creation for the IVR devices since the flow is created within a VSAN.
    Unfortunately this is as designed.
I think it's really a very big problem when You can't monitor port-channels and IVR flows!!! That does mean this features are not usable in production environment where monitoring is a must!!! Why is this not written in the documentation on the first page with bold. It's really frustrating. Thanks for Your help.
