Period Rate & Historical Rate?

Dear all,
1) To define "Period Rate" is for translation purpose, am I right?
2) I define a new responsibility for a company only allow them to entering GL, if I need to performing translation, I need to enter historical rates only for owner’s equity accounts ( I mean the balance) only for the first month, no need afterwards?
Please advice,
Amy

Dear Jogendra,
I have followings question from your reply:
1) Why the historical rates should be defined for all
the periods if it is different in different periods? When we run translation, historical rate defined for code combinations looks for immediate period in which the rate is defined. So,if the historical rates are not same from one period to another due to business reason and the rates are not defined in the immediately preceding period then the code combination would look for earliest period available for translation. So,we should define for all the period.
>
2) What is your meaning of "Other rates defined for a
code combination"? What rates I need to define in
code combination?Other rates means period rates defined for a period for all the code combinations other than owner's equity accounts.
Except in case of historical rates for owner's equity, there is no need to defined any rate for each code combination.
Best Regards,
Amy

  • Translating equity at the historic rate (BPC 7.5 NW)

    Hello,
For group reporting purposes, our accounting policy is to state our consolidated equity at historic rates. That means that net assets of all subsidiaries are translated to GBP at the closing rate and the income statememt of all non-GBP subsidiaries are translated at the yearly average rate. The equity for all non-GBP is not re-translated but the difference between the equity at the closing rate and the equity at the historic rate is posted to FCTR in reserves.
Anyone has any idea how to implement this in BPC?
    Thank you.

    Hello,
Thanks for your response. I would really appreciate if you could expand on your comment above, as the rule needs to do several things:
-The opening balance of equity (in any particular BPC account code) needs to be at the previous period's closing rate.
-The movement during the period in the account needs to be at the average rate.
-FCTR needs to be calculated, which is the difference between the LC at closing rate, less the amounts mentioned above. But the FX will be posted to a different account.
    Thank you very much again.

0FISCPER3 to date is not possible.Instead use posting date in your query.

  • Currency Translation at Historical Rates

    Hi,
We wish to translate Retained Earnings, Equity and Investment FS Items at historical rates. I wish to understand the following -
    1) For equity and investment line items the system should refer the Additional Financial Data for GC value. However in our case we found that the same does not happen everything (even though parameters such as profit center, partner profit center and partner unit match)..
    2) I wish to understand how the system translates retained earnings.
We are implementing SEM-BCS at a client site and hence we wish to migrate historical data.
    Regards,
    Shibu

    1) Can you please provide a detailed example of AFD vs. Totals and the resulting translations, as well as how translation is configured for the example, for us to assess what is actually occuring?
    2) Because there are many options with respect to transaltion in BCS it would be helpful for us to know how retained earnings should be translated in order to provide suggestions. For US GAAP, it is typical to translate RE on a periodic basis at the month's avg. rate in order to coincide with the corresponding earnings/losses.

  • Translating ACCOUNT at Historical Rate

    Hi all,
Can someone please help because there does not seem to be anything in the documentation regarding this or I must be missing it?
I have several ACCOUNTs that need to be translated at historical rates.  In other words, users will enter the Local Currency amounts and the corresponding Translated Currency amounts for these ACCOUNTs in an input template.  However, the translated currency amounts get re-translated at some other exchange rates when I run the FX Restatement package.
I need to tell the application to ignore re-translating the translated currency amounts for these certain ACCOUNTs and just leave the translated currency amounts entered by the users alone as they are.  Can this be done in SAP BPC?
    Thank you.
    Regards.

    Hi Joost,
    Thanks for the tips.
I suppose that the values I specify in the dimension prompts in FX Restatement SSIS package will define or delimit the scope that the stored proc SPRUNCONVERSION will process, in terms of which dimension members to process.
If you don't mind, just a few more things to cement my understanding.
Is the parameters list for SPCONVERSION fixed in terms of the dimension types I can pass into the stored proc? Also, must I specify the dimesions in a particular order (e.g. can %CATEGORY_SET% be placed before %APP%) or can I enter any parameters in any order that I like?  Does this also hold true for all other stored procedures?  Is there any official documentation on this?
Secondly, the FX Restatement SSIS package asks users to select the value of 3 dimensions: CATEGORY, ENTITY and TIME, which I select using a drop down list.  I guess other dimensions not specifically asked for will be taken from the Current View settings.
However, the SPRUNCONVERSION is written as:
    *RUN_STORED_PROCEDURE=SPRUNCONVERSION('%APP%','%CATEGORY_SET%','','GLOBAL','%SCOPETABLE%','%LOGTABLE%')
In contrast to the FX Restatement SSIS package, the member for TIME and ENTITY is not specifically fed into SPRUNCONVERSION.  May I know how I should reconcile this or should I not be bothering about this in the first place?
    Thank you very much.
    Regards.

    Hi,
to continue to above suggetions, if you are not having authorisation in prod, then you close the period in quality server with new request and transport it to production. This is with the help of basis guy. make sure that the quality system is updated with production.

  • Exchange rate fetched while calculating depreciation is historical rate

    Hello All,
    Following is the issue:
As part of depreciation process, SAP posts amount in local and group currency. SAP while converting local currency depreciation value into group currency (USD) isnu2019t able to pick up right foreign currency rate i.e average rate for that month. Instead SAP chooses historical exchange rate which existed at the time of capitalization and converts the depreciation value.
Exchange rates for both historical and average are maintained in OB08.
I would like to know whether any more configuration is required or should i do a debug and understand why historical rate is fetched instead of Average rate
    Appreciate an early reply
    Best regards,
    Sundar

    Hello Srinu,
Does ECC 6.0 allows any tweaking in configuration or in the depreciation program to fetch average exchange rate for depreciation?
    Appreciate your time!

  • Best practice to Load FX rates to Rate Application in SAP BPC 7.5 NW

    Hi,
What is the best practice/approach to load FX rates to Rate Application in SAP BPC 7.5 NW? Is it from ECC or BW?
    Thanks,
    Rushi

    I have seen both cases.
    1) Rates coming as a flat file from external system, treasury department, and ECC and BPC both loads in to respective systems in batch.
    2) ECC pushes rate info to BW and data in turn get pushed to BPC along with other scheduled process chains.
How are rates entering your ECC?

  • Error - Enter rate/USD rate type

    Hi
    We are with SRM 7.0
Getting below error while going for shop. any  inputs please ?
" Enter rate / USD rate type M for 23.11.2011 in the system settings "
    Thanks
    Nag

    Hello,
System tries to convert a currency amount in USD, but you do not have exchange rate type 'M' (which is used by default in function modules CONVERT_TO_XXX_CURRENCY ) for USD in SRM table TCURV (exchange rate types for currency translation).
This table can be maintained using SPRO:
SAP implementation guide > SAP Web Application Server > General Settings > CUrrencies > Check Exchange Rate Types
Nevertheless, before maintaining this table directly in SRM, check if this entry exists in same table, but in your R/3 backend. If yes, do a new data replication for customing object DNL_CUST_BASIS3 using middleware.
If also your backend table TCURV is not filled-in with this entry, you should have same problem in R/3: ask to consultant to make necessary in R/3, then do a replication by middleware.
    Regards.
    Laurent.

  • How to set the Codec, Frame rate, Bit rate, and Resolution for iMovie 10.0.5

To upload a video to Vimeo, I need to be able to set the codec, frame rate, bit rate and resolution to make sure the file is compressed to under 500 MB. Where in iMovie 10.0.5 am I given the option to adjust these settings?
    Thank you!

Another question is in continuous mode, NI DAQmx uses Samples per channel to determine the buffer size. But according to the website you specified, it says if the acquisition is continuous (sample mode on the DAQmx Timing.vi is set to Continuous Samples), NI-DAQmx will allocate a buffer according to the following table. And for sample rate between 100 - 10,000 S/s, the buffer size is 10 kS. So if I set the sample rate to be 5000 S/s, and set the Samples per channel to be 20000, then what exactly the buffer size is? 20 kS or 10 kS?
    Thanks.

  • Enter rate / EUR rate type M - Replace item with MDM 3.0 catalog item

    Hello,
Up on importing a requested item with an MDM 3.0 catalog item via the 'replace with calog item' functionality we're getting the following error:
Enter rate / EUR rate type M for dd.mm.yyyy in system settings
The from and to currency are both EUR. I first of all don't get it why anything related to exchange rates is happening here.
Edit: I've investigated the problem a little more and it seems like the MDM currency mapping is not correctly set-up. The currency value maintained in MDM seems not to be taken into account when importing to SRM.
Anybody knows how to (pre-)view the OCI mappings from MDM > SRM?
    Kind regards,
    Tim

    Hi Masa,
I knew and had already checked that place. But what I actually ment is how can i see the MDM filling for f.e. NEW_ITEM-CURRENCY. I would like to know whether MDM is actually providing the NEW_ITEM-CURRENCY.
The field NEW_ITEM-CURRENCY for our repository is mapped with Price Information-Currency. This should suffice but it isn't.
I've tested the following: defaulting my users Local Currency to USD instead of EUR in the PPOMA_BBP attribute -> add MDM catalogi item in SC -> Currency is USD. While MDM currency is EUR. It's not mapped/read..
The field Price Information-Currency in MDM Data Manager contains as far as i can see value: EUR.
    Thanks for your help.
    Kind regards,

  • Enter rate  / USD rate type M for 21.04.2011 in the system settings - MIRO

    Hi Gurus,
We have created a new PO doc type as Stage Payment and FI team has created the new Invoice Doc type as  Stage Payment Invoice. After this we have created the PO with new doc type SP and posted the GR.
When we are trying to post the Invoice with KU document type we are receiving the error message as u201CEnter rate / USD rate type M for 21.04.2011 in the system settingsu201D.
We have verified the entry on OB08, the entry is maintained for the currency type NOK to USD and also the entry is available in OBBS with 1:1 ratio.
Also there is no validation available in OB28 .
Please suggest me how to fix this issue.
    Thanks
    Sada

    Hi Jürgen
    Thanks for the update.
When we are debugging MIRO ,we are getting  the value of  I_WAERS = blank and  I_HSWAE = NOK, because of that reason we are getting the error SG 105 with Enter rate as blank.
Please suggest me how to fix this issue.

  • Historical Rates for Non Leading Ledgers.

    HI Team,
We are using ECC 6.0 and we have New GL & parallel ledgers in our system. We are facing some issues while running Depreciation.
For Company code (CC is XXXX and currency is CHF and Group Currency is USD) we are using 01 (Book Depreciation) and 15 Tax deprecation for XX ledger (Non Leading Ledger) with 3 (area post Depreciation only).
While running the Depreciation for Dep. Area 01 it is taking the Historical Exchange rates posting Dep in group currency but whereas Dep 15 is taking the current day exchange rates due to that we are getting balance when comparing the OL ledger with XX Non leading ledger.
Can you please check and let us know how system can consider the Historical Exchanges rates for Non leading ledgers
    Thanks
    DB

    HI Hugo Segovia,
      Thanks for your response.
The below chat is the current configuration in our system
Dep.Area     Name Of the Dep.Area                     Real Dep Area                    Posting to G/L                        Target Ledger Group
1     Book Depreciation                 Yes                                    1.Area Post in Real Time                Leading Ledger  XX
15     Tax Dep Area                  Yes                                  3.Area Post Depreciation only    Non Leading Ledger  XY
32                 Book Depreciation in Group Currency     Yes     0.Area Does Not post
As per your suggestion I have to modify the Dep.Area 32 from Area does not post to Area post in Depreciation area and I should assign Non Lading ledger  XY to Dep.Area 32.
In this case the amount which is posted in Non leading ledger will be duplicate as it will be posted as per Dep .Area 15 and Dep.Area 32 also. How can I control this?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Thanks
    DB
