Pertaining Watches thread in Post Upgrade Problems Forum

I have posted a question pertaining the watches, I'm not able to see the red indicator nor receiving e-mail.
Justin, sorry for the very late reply.
I didn't see your reply and now the threads are read only, so I had no other choice but to post here.
The threads I watch I am able to see them in the "Watches" in my Control Panel but I do not see the red indicator and I do not receive watches e-mail.

The watch e-mails have stopped since the first couple of days of the upgrade, back than I thought they were off, so I waited, but noticed no one was talking about it.
I checked my mailbox today and I saw a whole bunch of watch mails, some from Sunday 23 November and dated way back till 27 October, but none for this thread. It's weird, there are watch-mails for some threads and not for others.
Have you guys uploaded anything??
I haven't change the mail address from the control panel, at least not after the upgrade, but I might have edited that profile page to make sure of my handle, there were cases where the e-mail address was showing instead of the handle at post upgrade.
However I would want to change the e-mail where I receive the watch mails as soon as they start working.
oh! one more thing, I still don't see the red indicators for watches on thread list in the forums.

    Just a guess on my part, but I would suspect non-image files in this case.
    As Ted points out, that WAS possible early on, and then the capbility to attach non-image files, was actually retained by a certain few forums, though not for long. This change was coincidental with a major spam attack, and at least one disgruntled user attempting to attach some rather nasty "stuff." I do ot know if those events prompted the change, as I was not part of the decision making group, that initiated the change.
    Though 95% of the files that I wish to attach, ARE image files, there are times, where a TXT file would be ideal, say for a crash log, or similar. Now, I can convert that TXT to a PNG, but then one has to work with pixel x pixel dimensions, and some files, like those crash logs, can be rather long.
    Personally, I find the loss of the Attach File (was via a button at the bottom-left of the editing screen) to be a sad comment on the actions of some, on these forums, but then that just reflects life outside of the forums.

  • SBA 8.0 (Hor) to SBA 8.0 (Ver) Industry Application Post Upgrade Problem!

    I am testing out an upgrade from Siebel 8.0 (Horizontal) to Siebel 8.0 (Vertical) version.
    Post upgrade after GUI Fixes, i did a full compile of siebel_sia.srf!
    But, after i start my Siebel Services & try to access the Sales or High Tech Manufacturing Application, it doesnt come up.
    The log file for both says:
    "siebsrvr\log\SSEObjMgr_enu_0025_26214410.log 8.0 SIA [20405] ENU
    ObjMgrSRFLog     Error     1     00000006486b09f4:0     2008-07-02 13:33:39     (cdf.cpp (668)) SBL-DAT-00142: Could not open repository file 'd:\sia80\siebsrvr\objects\enu\siebel_sia.srf'.
    File does not exist or may be in use by another process.

    Any idea why this is happening? The SRF file exists on the correct location & i dont see any other application accessing the same.

    Double-check with Siebel Tools that is the same file.
    Check that the new Siebel application is shut down properly and has no "dangling" processes before restart.

    Hi,
    if we watch a forum via email option, for instance, PI forum, in 3 days, there were around 80 new posts and  400 replies
    what i am intersted is the new posts of the threads, so that i am able to check if it is relavant me.
    with watch forum by email option, i am getting so many mails.
    many thread reply mails, i am not really interested, so i need to delete the replies so that my mailbox doesn't get full.
    it would be better if an option is provided in the "Your wathches" page to watch just new threads.

    Good point.
    While we wait for development, here is a workaround: filter the mails with your mail program or web service and assign a tag "new thread" or similar.
    Works OK in Google Mail, my filter criteria is "subject:(-Re: -Thread)".

  • 10.4.6 Upgrade - post upgrade problems

    I have recently upgraded from 10.4.5 t 10.4.6. Since doing so, I have experienced several problems related to my internet connection etc. When Software Update runs, I always get a (-1001) timeout error and 'Software Update can't check for updates because of a network problem.' However, when I run network diagnostics, everything is normal. Similarly, I am having intermittent issues with my internet connection - sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. When it does work it runs very slowly and sometimes the pages half load and just hang. I have tried using my wireless internet connection with my Windows laptop and everything is fine. I assume the problem therefore is 10.4.6 as nothing else has changed. I am a very frustrated user at the moment. Has anyone any thoughts?

    Revert to a hardwire internet connection and see if that fixes the problem. If so, then do a search in these forums for "wireless" or "airport" problems.

  • Post upgrade problem activating technical chains

    After upgrade do version 7.01 I would like to collect and activate technical process chains.
    During this proces I got error "Shadow object 0PAK_...... cannot be expanded; chain is inconsistant" and not all Infopackages were collected.
    Any sugestion what is cause of this problem.

    Thanks for your reply.
    When activating the process chain, I have selected all infopackages that were collected automatically by the system (with the option "In the Data Flow Before"). I also tried to find these infopackages myself in the Business Content (in ISIP (Infopackage) object type), still no success.
    I also thought I could create these infopackages manually, but I have absolutely no idea on what they are expected to do: loading? From where to where? Activating data? Changing attributes? I don't know.
    In RSPC I can see these infopackages as a step in the chain, but only with their technical name which does not help me to find out what is the source and target of that loading.

  • WISM 7.0.235.0 post-upgrade problem?

    I upgraded one of our WISM-1 modules from 7.0.98.0 to 7.0.235.0 last night.  For some reason, APs don't join with it unless I tell them specifically to do so.  We haven't specified primary & secondary controllers on purpose, allowing the APs to determine from DHCP & the controllers' responses and decide on one based on load.  This has always worked great for us.
    After upgrading, I couldn't get an AP to join the upgraded wism even after I specified the controller in the AP config.  So then I changed my 6506 load balancing to src-dst-mac since that is a known (although seldom seen) issue with APs joining a controller for the first time.  We usually keep it set at
    src-dst-mixed-ip-port.  That worked & the AP joined the upgraded wism.  Then I reset the load-balancing algorithm on the 6506, removed the specific controller from the AP's config, rebooted the AP, and all is fine.  I thought that solved it.  Not.
    Any other AP that I reboot tries to join the upgraded wism since it has only 1 AP connected, but it fails and the AP joins the other wism running 7.0.98.0.  Even if I change the load balancing algorithm to src-dst-mac, src-dst-ip, or src-mac, it won't join unless I specify the upgraded controller, which I don't want to do.  I can see the wism responding to the join requests, but the APs still end up on the other controller.  It soulds like the years-old load balancing algorithm issue, but that doesn't seem to be the whole answer this time.
    I hope this information makes sense to those that are aware of the issues I bring up.  Any ideas why the 7.0.235.0 wism isn't getting APs to join it successfully without my specifying that controller?  The config hasn't changed, except for what new or changed defaults exist.  I suspect it might have to do with one of those....  Or could it be the two different controller versions returning confusing and different responses to the initial query?

    We're not using the built-in DHCP service on the WISMs.
    A wise decision.
    I've upgrade our WiSM-1's to this version and we don't have any issues. 
    However, in the past, we use to host our DHCP server for the WAPs and the clients on a plain Linux box and we noticed that the Linux box took a painfully long, long time to dish out IP addresses to around 1k WAPs.  We later moved our DHCP server to InfoBlox and the problems go away. 
    Any other AP that I reboot tries to join the upgraded wism since it has only 1 AP connected, but it fails and the AP joins the other wism running 7.0.98.0. Even if I change the load balancing algorithm to src-dst-mac, src-dst-ip, or src-mac, it won't join unless I specify the upgraded controller, which I don't want to do. I can see the wism responding to the join requests, but the APs still end up on the other controller.     Never saw this problem at all. 

  • 7.6.2 post upgrade problems with some users only

    Having upgraded to itunes 7.6.2 I am getting some weird problems. My user account itunes seems to work fine, but if my daughter logs onto the machine itunes will not access the store homepage - it just hangs and eventually gives error -50. Exploring a little more and it can be persuaded to get onto the store, but only throught the search page and then not to the music store!
    Checking other accounts on the machine reveals the same pattern, one account works fine, the other does not.
    It may be relevant that the two accounts that do not work are both childrens accounts with parental controls enabled.

    Probably a firewall / parental control issue. If you temporarily disable parental controls, does everything work as it should?

  • 4s contacts post-upgrade problem

    So it might be my noob status as an Iphone user but I installed the update to my phone and now the contacts that were on my phone that I had synced from my Mac do not show up when they text and call.  So for example all the contacts on my phone (both from mac and ones entered) show up in the address book as normal; however, when one of the ones I added from my mac calls or texts it shows up as just their number as if they are not an existing contact.  I tried deleting all the contacts through sync on itunes and reloading them but that doesn't help the situation. What do I do? 

    I figured it out, it was my bad I had specified the path to include the apex directory which gets created when you unzip apex 3.1.
    So I specified the path as apex3.1/apex/ which is APEX_HOME/apex. Instead I needed to specify only the base directory which was apex3.1

  • Why can version 3.16.6 have problems displaying more than nine posts in a forum thread when IE7 does so with ease?

    In a forum that I have been using for the last several years, I posted a problem. When I tried to reply to post #9 in that thread, my post would not appear. I tried again and still my post did not appear.
    I then opened IE7, navigated to that forum and thread. IE7 displayed all 13 posts.
    I have no problems adding to long threads in other forums. If it helps you, I am including a link to the thread I'm having problems with.

    The slowness may be caused by background processing after the library update. Are you shooting RAW?
    Also, where is your iPhoto library stored? In your Pictures folder or on an external drive?
    How much free storage do you have on your system drive

    You may need to repair your iPhoto Library.
    Run the iPhoto library first aid tools and use the options "Repair permissions" and "Repair database".
    To launch the "First Aid Tools" hold down the options-command keys while double clicking your iPhoto Library.
    Then select "Repair Database". Repeat with "Repair Permissions". If this does not help, back up your iPhoto Library and use the option "rebuild".

    Given so many posts about problems, is upgrading to OS X maverick worth it?
    I am content using Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.8.  But my most recent Garmin GPS map updates returned a message that stated, "Mac OSX 10.6 is an older OSX version that is no longer compatible with modern software. We will be ending support for this operating system soon.  To continue using Garmin Express, please upgrade your operating system."
    As others have noted, you don't hear from the users who have installed this upgrade successfully. I've read about problems installing the upgrade and then incompatibilities with other applications once it is installed. Would appreciate your experience and thoughts.  Thanks.

    There are several excellent suggestions here.
    What I did was clone my Snow Leopard drive to a second hard drive, then installed Mavericks on the clone.
    I now have a working Snow Leopard drive as well as a Mavericks drive. I bounce back and forth between them.
    I have symlinks set up so all my documents created on the Mavericks drive go to the Snow Leopard drive, but I have copies of all my applications on both drives. It just seemed easier...
    I had to disable App Nap in both Quickeys and Keyboard Maestro, but they both seem to work well, and neither is the latest version. (Well, Quickeys is the latest version, but it's not a recent version.)
    I only check email in Snow Leopard, never in Mavericks, so my Inbox is not scattered over both systems.
    The Mavericks disk takes longer to boot, and it does occasionally seem sluggish, but it's not a deal-breaker. Like many, I have some legacy software I use, so I don't want to commit to Mavericks full time. But it's nice being able to use both.
    I do like using Safari in full-screen mode, but that's the only program I use full-screen for.

  • Graphic Upgrade Problem with K430 desktop - Unresolved!

    Xmas 2012 I purchased a Lenovo IdeaCentre K430 Desktop from PC world.
    PC World said it would be upgradable if I need to upgrade it.
    The system is:
    Intel Core i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
    16.0 GB DDR3
    1.8 TB Hardrive
    Windows 8
    Geforce GT 640
    I recently purchased Crysis 3 and its not running very well, so I brought a Geforce GTX 660.
    However when I installed and rebooted the PC, I was greated with a blank flashing screen?
    other people have simular problems on the GeForce forums.
    I have since took the card back PLUS 3 MORE for a refund, and very dissapointed that I can't upgrade this PC.
    CAN SOMEONE AT LENOVO PLEASE REPLY WITH A LIST OF 'MODERN/LATEST GRAPHIC CARDS, THAT ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THIS MODEL STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX?
    CHANGING THE BIOS SETTINGS DOES NOT WORK FOR ME!
    It's been almost 2 years and I've still not found a compatible card, so much for the Ultimate Upgradable PC!

  • Ipod Touch 3.0 Upgrade problems

    Hi there;
    I've found a few similar problems out there on the forum, but none that contain a solution that has helped.
    Basically I tried to upgrade my 2nd generation ipod touch from software version 2.2 to the new 3.0. On my main box pc, on which I have used Itunes for ages, I first upgraded to Itunes 8.2.0.23 and then I was further prompted to upgrade my ipod software to version 3.0.
    The download went fine, but on installing the upgrade the ipod locked on the Apple screen (no progress bar) and I was presented with a window saying the update had failed. When going back to Itunes I was told that my ipod was in recovery mode and needed to be restored. After a further long period staring at an Apple, I get an error saying the Ipod could not be restored (code 1603).
    After repeated attempts I decided to use my laptop, which has never had itunes installed as it's only a week old. I installed Itunes, started it and connected the Ipod. Again it said it was in recovery mode, so I asked it to restore it. Interestingly it downloaded v2.2 and restored successfully, although it was blanked back to purchase state. It then told me about the 3.0 upgrade, so (stupidly) figuring that this was a new state ipod on a different machine with a clean, new install of Itunes, I thought ok!
    Same result, locks on the Apple screen and eventually tells me the update failed. Now when I restore on the laptop, I believe it's trying to restore the newly downloaded 3.0 instead of the (working) 2.2 and it fails with the error above.
    I'm pretty confident that I can use a 3rd pc to restore back to 2.2, but why oh why is this being so problematic? Is 3.0 broken for some ipods out there?
    I've tried a few solutions I've found, such as restarting the Apple Mobile Service, and using a different machine is like reinstalling/using different usb's (didn't work anyway as I've tried 2 ports on the laptop now), holding down the power/standby buttons to hard reset it. I'm about to create a new user on Vista32 HP to see if I can get it to restore.
    What's going on?!

    Btw:m I did pay for the update through Itunes of course. The new laptop install recognised that I'd paid already and downloaded without a further purchase.

    RESOLVED
    Typically, within 1/2 hour of posting my problem, I tried a random solution and it randomly worked. After quitting itunes, disconnecting the ipod (stuck permanently on the Apple screen after the last update failure, so I held down the power/stby buttons to turn it off). I then dug into the following folder where itunes keeps its update downloads...
    c:\users\((username))\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
    ... and moved the two update files (one for 2.2 and another for 3.0) to the recycle bin. I ran iTunes, turned on the ipod with a hard reset by using the power/stby buttons together (to get the screen with the usb connector pointing to iTunes), then connected it. Got the screen saying about Recovery mode and needing to restore ... so I restored, got the window saying about 3.0... it downloaded and installed (progress bar and everything) successfully.
    Farce complete. I don't think I'll update again!!!
    I hope this possibly helps others out there, if they encounter this freakish seemingly rare problem.
