PGI & Billing documents posted into different reporting periods

Hi guys
The problem
We have a situation where an Order was generated in January;
3 deliveries/ Post Goods Issued (PGI'd) were processed for this order - 2 in January and 1 in February;
And 1 billing document was created in February.
This has caused some problems in accounting in that Cost of sales and Revenue is posted into two different periods (i.e. January & February)
Customising
The billing relevance for this order type has been customised via 'Define item category' to 'B - Relevant for order-related billing - status acc.to order qty'
The order type is relevant for delivery; and
The billing quantity via Copying control: Delivery document to Billing document config is 'B - Delivery quantity less invoiced quantity'.
My question
Since delivery could cut across several reporting periods and has to be completed before an ORDER-RELATED billing is done. Are there any settings that could be customised in config such that Revenue will be posted along with the Cost of Sales at the point of PGI?

Can you please let me know whether the Actual GI Date in Delivery and Billing date differs in your case ??
In normal circumstances, your Actual GI Date will be your Invoice date in which case, I feel your question is answered.

  • Billing document posting to FI

    Dear All,
    For one of the rarely use sale material, one of our end user created sales order without maintaining Account Assignment Group for Material. Then create delivery, Billing & created excise invoice.
    Thus very obvious that this billing document was not automatically got posted in FI. We then maintain the account assignment group for Material & try to manual post it through VF02 but still it is not posting that billing document to FI.
    Now the Error is -
    Error in account determination: table T030K key 1000 MW1
    Message no. FF709
    Diagnosis
    In the chart of accounts to be posted to, no accounts are defined for the tax code you used.
    Procedure
    Contact your system administrator.
    Define the accounts to which a tax posting is to be made with the tax code entered in Customizing for taxes on sales/purchases.
    To do this, choose Maintain entries (F5).
    Reward points will definitely awarded for helping answers.

    hello, friend.
    when you configure account determination, you assign not only account assignment groups (customer, material) to GL accounts, you also need to make assignments for taxes, represented in SAP default by the posting key MWS.
    an example assignment in account determination, procedure 5 (General) would be as follow:
    Applic/Ty/Chart of Accts/Sales Org/Act Asg Grp/Act Asg Grp/Account key/GL accounts 
    V   KOFI   INT   1000   01   01   ERL   xxxxxx
    V   KOFI   INT   1000   01   01   ERS   xxxxxx
    V   KOFI   INT   1000   01   01   ERF   xxxxxx
    V   KOFI   INT   1000   01   01   MWS   xxxxxx
    please check if your tax condition type/s are included in your pricing procedure and have been defined in FI.

  • Different reporting period

    Hi Gurus,
    We would like to make reports on different periods than standard. Our reporting period is from the 26th of previous month to the 25th of this month, so e.g. for the month January 2009 we would like to show all the records from the 26th of December 2009 to the 25th of January 2009.

  • Accounting documents posted in different Co codes during PGI????

    Hi,
    While carrying out PGI for direct sales to customer, the inventory accounting and cost of goods are getting posted in two different company codes.
    From where is the company code picked up for these two postings.
    We have recently implemented CIN. Is it due to some setting in CIN?

    For inventory accounting, go to OBYC, click on Transaction BSX, give Chart of Accounts and execute so that you will see the respective G/L account would have been assigned there.

    One way to do it is to tile the workbooks within the same window (i.e Windows > tile horizontally) and then just drag and drop the worksheet into the other workbook (whilst holding down ctrl if you want to copy rather than move)

  • Intercompany document posted with different currencies

    Hi:
    I posted an intercompany document that created 2 currencies as the document currency.
    For eg: co code A = USD & Co code b = GBP
    When I posted the document in GBP, both companies had their respective currencies rather than just one currency i.e. GBP.

    We have all currencies set up in SAP. However I planned to use GBP only as my document currency, that created a USD document currency for the other company?

  • COPA billing documents - reverse and repost in different period

    At the end of the period accounting is required to reverse certain sales posted for the period and repost to the following period due to shipping terms and revenue recognition requirements. They currently do this in FI using a high level entry in FB50. How can we also reverse and repost the COPA billing documents to a different period?

    Hi,
    You should not be required to assign a profit center in OKB9 except for a few situations where the system does (can) not put profit center in the line item or you do not put profit center while posting.
    Therefore, if the the profit center is alreadt in line item then the OKB9 profit center will not be defaulted.
    Use of OKB9 for default profit center should be done sparingly.

  • How identify closed accounting period to restrict creation of billing document in sap

    I have a requirement to identify the  closed  periods in sap based on this we need to restrict the creation of billing document .
    Actually we are working for  Brazil  client, there we have notafiscal   which created along with billing document.we are maintaining  periods monthly basis.
    When the periods are closed  accounting document not created and billing document is created  this is working fine . But over scenario along with billing document notafiscal number is also created which  is causing the problem. This notafiscal should not be created without a accounting  document.
    so my client wants to restrict creation of billing document also when these monthly periods are closed.
    Please suggest me a solution.

  • Posting date to accounting for billing document

    Dear Experts
    In SD cycle, we have created billing document in first quarter. As per our customization settings the billing document was created with Posting block.
    Now today i.e. in second quarter we want to release this billing document to accounting without opening the posting period for FI/CO. i.e. we want to release the billing document to accounting in current period. How to manage this??
    Also I have another query, Billing document created in first Quarter is having one exchange rate (e.g. EXQ1). Let say current exchange rate is EXQ2.
    Now when we release the same billing document today i.e. in second quarter, which exchange rate will be applicable to that billing document EXQ1 or EXQ2 ??

    Dear Prashant
    It is Posting Date only.  You dont find this field in invoice but you can see in accounting document.  The table is BKPF - Field Name BUDAT.  Once you apply the user exit ZXVVFU01 and click on the green flag in VF02, system will propose to input a date.  Whatever date you enter here, it will be updated in the above field.  Of course, you cannot input a date here for which FI period is closed.
    Take the help of ABABer and give this logic.  He will fulfill your requirement.

  • Documents posted wrong posting periods

    hi,
    we are using sap 4.7e version.our fiscal year is april to march.we posted 7 billing documents on 01.03.2007 .but 6 accounting documents posted to 13 th period.one document posted to 12 th period. we are unable to identify the problem how it happend .all posting and document dates are on 01.03.2007. could any body give solution to this probelm.

    Normally the system always takes the posting period based on posting date.
    You can enter in the special periods only by actually selecting the posting date of last posting period and manually selecting the posting period as the special period of 13-16.
    There could be two possibilities for the issues:
    Someone must have manually changed the posting period in billing document header (field VBRK-POPER) to 13 while the posting date is 1.3.07.
    OR
    Based on certain parameters, a user exit is triggered to change the posting period to a special period 13.

    Now, as your requirement goes I can suggest you something on this as below:
    Presuming you are doing delivery related billing as of now, then you need to maintain copy control between your delivery type to different billing types. Then while doing VF01 you need to manually select the billing type depending upon your country. Same thing will be applicable for order related billing as well.

  • Inversion documents when using the special Periods with FYV K4

    Hello All,
                I have posted some documents in Period 12 and they are not inverting in period1. we are using the FYV as K4 which is 12 periods plus 4 special periods. My business requirement is whatever the documents posted in Period12 to Period 16, they need to be inverted in Period1.
                I have tried all different combinations and permitation by changing the consolidation frequency, Document types and tasks. But there is no use and SAP also replied back as per the below. So please help if you have any information regarding this issue.

    As you know I am using the FYV as K4(12 periods + 4 special Periods)
    Created the Consolidation Frequencies.
    1.     100 u2013 1-13 Periods
    2.     200 u2013 only period 13
    3.     300 u2013 1-12 Periods
    Created the following Period Category groups and period categories.
    1.     Period Group 100
    Period Category 10 u2013 1-12 periods
    2.     Period Group 200
                    Period category 20 u2013 only Period 13
    Assigned the Consolidation Frequency 100 (1-13 periods) to the Version combinations.
    I have created 2 tasks with one method and one Flexible Upload

    Referring to your message if it is not possible in Money Market, is it possible in Loans Management.  The requirement is exactly same.  Here the requirement is mainly to meet the reporting requirements. 
    Out of the total long term loan, the portion which is filling due within a period of one year need to be identified as current liability which is payable within one year and it is not about reclassification or something of that nature.  This is the reason I was trying to ask you the postings, how it can happen? 
    The initial posting has gone to Long term liability GL account based on the account determination.  Out of the total loan borrowed, the portion of installments which are becoming due within one year need to be shown as current liabililty/current maturity.  Can you please post if this can be handled with standard functionality.

    I am trying to invoice manual and periodic bill document together for a particular period.However,when i run EASIBI,the manual bill document does not get picked up and only the periodic bill doc gets invoiced.
    Is this a config issue or while creating data we should keep certain things in mind?

    maybe you check into help.sap.com (they have an example for a manual bill).
    there it is also stated that you should - Call Transaction EA16 Create manual billing, and enter a contract number and a key date. If you set the Joint invoice indicator, the document can only be invoiced jointly with an automatic document.
    I wonder, whether the manual bill document is released and ready to be picked up or it is the correct posting period?
