Phantom components planning

Hi,
Please suggest me on following scenario. i have been posting planning related questions from so long but still waiting for proper suggestions. here it follows,
This is make to order scenario by keeping components stock through planning.
I have a KMAT material K with phantom assemblies P1(assume red) and P2(assume blue) with their components PR1(semi or raw), PR2 respectively. initially they want to forecast KMAT material for that i suggested PS 89, but they do not want to do probability for characteristic values. so i suggested them plan components directly but they want to plan phantom assemblies so that they procure their components separately from vendors. if i use PS 59 for phantom assemblies it is generating planned orders which nobody wants to convert to prod orders. if i use PS 70 for phantom components it is always generating planned orders for quantity 1 as dependent requirement for phantom assembly.
So what planning stratgies do i need to use for all level materials, if any SO comes for KMAT material K, P1 P2 PIRs should consume so PIRs of components PR1, PR2. they do not want to forecast for PR1 or PR2, they want to forecast P1, P2 should generate dependent requirements in order to procure separately. if i use PS 70 for P1, again its component PR1 is always generating planned order for quantity 1 as dependent requirement of P1. please suggest me if anybody faced similar scenarios.
Thanks in advance.

You have fallen into the trap of allowing the client to pre-define the solution, and then make unreasonable and illogical demands as to how this preselected solution should work.  You are much better off asking the client to list his business requirements, in greater and greater detail, until you find the best match between his requirements and one of the many Standard Solutions.
For instance, Configurable material is not a requirement, it is a solution.  Phantom BOMs are not a requirement, they are a solution.  First find out why the client thinks he needs all of these features to run his business.
I won't make a suggestion, and then have you tell me why it won't work, and then I respond, and so forth and so on. If it were my client, I woul tell him that there is no standard solution.  If he wants all of his predefined requirements to be met, then I would tell him the only options are for him to revisit and relax his requirements, or face the expense of a customized solution.

  • Phantom in Planning

    Hi,
I have a scenario. I am doing a planning for a dialysis centers which represented as a plant. Demand is enter at the treatment level and run MRP for the components to be purchase. Bills of material is created for the treatment material.
The question is by loading the forecast at the treatment level, when MRP run, can it propose only the child component to purchase without any proposal for the treatment material.
    Any input on this?
What is the Phantom in Planning= 60? Can this be applied in this case.
    Regards
    Bee Lee

    Hi Prasobh,
I have indicated for the treament material with the Procurement Type: E and Special Procurement Type: 50 in the MRP View 2.
Treatment BOM is created with the required components. The individual/collective is set to 2 in the MRP View 4.
In the MRP View 3, is there a strategy to be set? If yes, what is the strategy to be set in this case. Currently I am setting the Strategy to "59".
Therefore, when I run MRP, there is a proposal of planned order because of the Procurement Type: E, but the components level, the proposal is planned order instead of Purchase Requisition as the Procurement Type: F. Is this correct way for proposal based on the setting.
But for treatment for dialysis center, there is no conversion of the planned order.
There is no other way where the treatment material dont get the proposal when the MRP run?
    Appreciate your reply

  • Phantom Assembly Planned Order in APO

Sub : Incorrect quantity and Bucket for component in scenario of Phantom Assembly
    Hi Gents,
I am using the Optimizer planning run for a scenario with Phantom assembly.
The master data has been used below
    Material u2013 862700 (Finished goods)
1091895 (Phantom assembly maintained for above FG)
    Location - 8501
    Planning Book - ZAL_SNP_PB_BG
    Data View - ZAL_SNP_DV_BGF
    Optimizer profile - ZAL_OPT_01
I have entered a demand for above FG on 22.02.2012 and running a optimizer by selecting both FG and Phantom assembly. As a result the optimizer has created the planned order for FG from 18th to 22nd Dec. 2012. The advancement of the planned order is due to production capacity constraint.  When i analysed System has created  planned order for phantom assembly in last two buckets of the planning book and heneceforth  the component requirement it is appearing only on last 2 buckets of the planning book. The date for this dependent demand is 28th and 29th Feb.2012 and the quantity is also wrong for the components as per the BOM.
The result I am expecting as system should create the planned order and dependent demand for the component maintain below phantom assembly should be same FG planed order date and quantity of component should also give the right requirement as per the BOM.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Rajesh patil

    HI Ipsita,
Did you try running it form SE38.
SE38 because in SE37 it is not necessary to give all the parameters..
But in SE38 you need to pass all the values required & Check form there.
Also you can check the details in PLAF-Table.
    Thanks & regards,

  • Planning strategy 59

    Hi All,
    I have a query on strategy 59.
I create PIR for phantom assembly & run MRP. Requirements for components are generated. Components are produced.
Sales order for finished material is entered. MRP Run for finished material. Planned order for finished material converted to process order & brought to stock. PGI is dine against SO of finished material.
My query is that after these steps although the SO for finished material vanishes, the dep req. still appear for phantom assembly & does not disappear. Also PIR of phantom assembly though appear to be reduced, but if we look at it in display/change mode original qty is there, so in actual terms PIR is not consumed but is anly allocated.
    Any pointers on this?
    regards,
    Mohit

    Hello,
    For Planning Strategy 59,
please check the following master data to be set up for Phantom Material:
u2022     Strategy group 59 on the MRP screen.
u2022     Set the indicator for assembly planning, the Mixed MRP indicator, to 1 on the MRP screen.
u2022     Consumption parameters (Consumption mode, Bwd consumption, Fwd consumption on the MRP screen) to allow for consumption of planned independent requirements.
u2022     Set the Special procurement field on the MRP screen to 50 (phantom assembly)
u2022     If you are using this strategy in a make-to-stock environment, you must set the Individual/coll. indicator is set to 2 on the MRP screen.
BOM must be maintained for the finished products and for the phantom assembly.
You also must set the Backflush field to 1 (2 may also be possible) on the MRP screen of the material masters for the components of the phantom assembly.
And assign the special procurement indicator 60(Phantom in Planning)

  • Phantom Assembly order

    Hi
I am working on a scenario where I have to collect dependent requirement of two material under one material. BOM of this materials is same but different physical properties so different matrial code. i am trying with phantom material ...so that i collect requirement for this materials ...club together and make the order for it. is it possible to make production order for phantom material. please suggest any other possible solution for this.
    regards
    Rajesh

    Dear Mr.Rajesh,
    Go thorugh this.
<b>I hope you will not be facing any problem with your scenario.</b>
    Also
Check with the setting in SPRO - Production - Basic Data -BOM - Item Data -
    DefineExplosion types.
    <b>Indicator: phantom assembly off</b>
This indicator controls the explosion of a phantom assembly in BOM explosion functions.
    <b>Use</b>
Explosion of phantom assembly in standard SAP system
If a special procurement key for a phantom assembly is entered in the material master (MRP 2 detail screen) of the header material of a phantom assembly:
Dependent requirements for the superior assembly are transferred directly to the components of the phantom assembly
Planned orders or purchase requisitions are generated for the components of the phantom assembly
If the explosion type determines that the standard explosion for a phantom
assembly is switched off, dependent requirements are generated for the header
materials of phantom assemblies, as well as the components.
    If useful reward points.
    Regards
    Mangal

  • What are phantom materials and assembly... how are they taken care during M

    Hello Gurus
what are phantom materials and phantom assembly... how are they taken care during MRP run

    Hi
Phantom assembly is the logical assemble. You have to define special procurement type in mateiral master as 50 to make the item as phantom.
When you make the item as phantom when running mrp BOM will explode for the phantom <b>ONLY child materials requirements will be generated</b>.For phantom assembly planned order will not be generated.
A phantom assembly is a logical grouping of materials. A phantom assembly is usually created within engineering, in order to describe a number of components easily and manage them as a whole. The components in a phantom assembly are placed immediately into the superior assembly. As opposed to this, components in an assembly are first assembled to produce the header material. After this the header material is placed into the superior assembly.
Example: The phantom assembly "set of wheels" contains the components "front wheel" and "rear wheel". The front and rear wheels are placed immediately into the "bicycle" assembly. The "light" assembly contains the materials "bulb" and "reflector". The light components are first assembled and then the light is attached to the bicycle.

  • LTP Planning for Subcontracting Purchase Order

    Hi All,
I am doing LTP run for the Finished Material.
Finished Material is having few open subcontracting Purchase order's.
When I take the LTP run  in MS02, system is considering the Open PO's and adjusting (netting) it with the Planned independent requirements of finished material. This is ok.
But the planning is not creating depending procurement proposals for the child items.
It is subcontracting PO of finished material, system suppose to create the dependent requirements.
In the MRP run it is working fine in MD02. But not working in LTP planning run in MS02 Transaction.

    Hi All,
I have found one BAdi u201CMD_CHANGE_MRP_DATAu201D  for showing up Subcon requirements in MS04 for child materials.
This BADI "MD_CHANGE_MRP_DATA" requires to implement using method "CONSIDER_RESB".
But implementation of this BADI using method "CONSIDER_RESB" will open up Dependent requirements/reservations of phantoms in phantom assembly planning and other reservations also.
How I can implement this BADI for specific Subcon requirements or Specific MRP element??

  • How to assign status profile to components in service order

    Hi,
For my business requirement, I want to assign status to individual components planned in the service order. Even though there is a status button on the component tab, there is no config where I can assign the status profile. We can only assign status profile to the order header and the operations and not to components level.
As SAP has provided the status button in the component tab, I am hoping that there is a way to assign the status to the parts planned.
    Your help is much appreciated.
    Regards,

    hi all,
It will be helpful if you give any useful tips on maintaining status for the component level in the service order.

  • Reg. Component list of planned order

    Hi All,
My requirement is i need a simple components list of planned order similar to COOIS - Component list, but not with all information.
Only I need the list of components planned order wise with component number, quantity, Sloc, Header material number, Production line and Production start and end dates.
To achieve this I am going for Z report development, I found the BAPI-BAPI_PLANNEDORDER_GET_DETAIL has all information what I need.My question is does this BAPI is fetching the values of component from the reservation table against that planned order number.Meaning does this BAPI output of Components and RESB output for that planned order will be same?
    Regards,
    MBN.

    Hi
Yes both results are the same if you check the RESB table with reference to the planned order number for which you have fetched data from BAPI BAPI_PLANNEDORDER_GET_DETAIL, both are the quantities are same, Also you can see the same in MD12/MD13, but when you check the RESB table only input as one of the component assigned in Planned order , then the quantities will differ,
The result will be the same only in case when you execute the data from table RESB with respect to the planned order number( given input in BAPI).

  • Phantoms in Production Order

    Hi all
I am using phantom components in my BOM. example BOM for  material M1 has component P1 as phantom. BOM for P1 has C1 as component. When I create a Production order for M1 the phantom component appears in the component screen along with component C1. Is there a way the phantom P1 does not appear on the screen and only component C1 appears on the screen.
    thanks a bunch

    Hi,
You can make use of the "Filter" on the Component overview screen. You can configure one of the existing Filters to show the components where Phantom item value = space. For this use transaction COF1. Now the only catch is that the user will have to choose this filter till it can configured as default somewhere. For now you can check this out.
    Thanks,
    Anup.
Please reward if you find the answer helpful.

  • Any known issues with Essbase 64 bit and other components as 32 bit

    Hi Everyone,
Are there any known issues with 64 bit Essbase and other components (Planning, EAS, Provider services, EAS, Workspace and Reporting) in 32 bit?
    Version is EPM 11.1.1.3
The reason for choosing ESSBASE 64 bit is of course performance. We decided to stick to 32 bit for the web applications due to some known issues and bitter experiences in past in this version with 64 bit web deployments.
OS is Windows 2003 Server (64 bit for the ESSBASE server and 32/64 bit for the application server)
    Thanks,
    Sayantan

Hyperion 32-bit Web Apps are fully compatible with Essbase 64-bit. Same with 32-bit Essbase client.

  • Question about project plan value and  availability control

    dear expert:
I had built a project, and with CJ30, Allocated budget is 10000, in one of  WBS element.
I created  a network and internal activities,
when I  assiged a material component (Res + PR) and system can be saved even if the total plan cost value is crossing the budget value.(There is no PR created, now. )
But, Budget checking is showing error message that budget is exceeded when I created any external service activity and crossing the budget value.(There is also no PR created, now. )
My question is: what is the difference of the two plan value? Why one is relevant to the budget, and the other is not?
Note:1) the tolerance limit with ++ (all activity groups), usage say 100% & action 3 (error) to the budget profile. The budget prifile is considered with only overall budget.
2)In tables COSP, "value types" are all 01 (plan), but VRGNG field values are different, components plan is: KPPE
    Service activities are: KPPP
3)in CJ30 u2013 Extras>> Availability Control>> Analysis. I could see the following in red colour, these values system not considering into account.
Entries in this color make no contribution to the assigned value!
    V: Value type not relevant ( Act./Plan/Stat.Act./Stat.Plan/Commt)
    D: Delivery

    R: Revenue cost element
C: Cost element is exempt cost element
M: Minimum from actual + commitment and plan per order value update

    Hi,
Its not per item category. If  N or L sytem will check the budget if in your system if proper GL's are maintained in OBYC settings BSX and GBB > VBR nad cost elelemtns are created for them. for this you have to cosult with your MM / CO consultant.
PS is highly inteergratd with CO and all values are updated per cost elements. If values are not updated in cost elements then budget chek wil not happen.
In you case for material values may be updated in cost elements due to improper OBYC setting so budget check was not done.
Chekc your OBYC setting and try to create material PR system will check for the budget.
    Check and confirm.

  • Turn off ATP for a Storage Location

    Hi,
I want to turn off ATP for a Storage Location.
I am aware of a setting on IMG where we can have this done but not able to find the right node.
Can someone help me with it?
availability check NOT TO CHECK the stock at the storage location level
    Thanks,
    Mike

Availability checks can be triggered either automatically or manually:
The availability of components in an order can be checked automatically during order creation and/or order release. You specify in CustomizingOPJK per order type and plant whether the availability should be checked automatically. In addition, an automatic availability check can be carried out when the order is saved.
You can always trigger a manual availability check
The checking scope is defined via the Checking Group (in the material master) and the valid Checking Rule (in Customizing).
    They define:
Which MRP elements are taken into account in the check
Which inventory categories are taken into account
Whether the replenishment lead time is taken into account
Whether the check is also to be carried out at storage location level
In Customizing (checking control) you specify which quantity is used to check the availability of a material. You can choose between the following:
Availability Check Against Planned Independent Requirements
In the check against planned independent requirements, the system only checks the open planned independent requirement quantities created for the components. This means that the ATP quantity is not included in this availability check nor are receipts or stocks.
This type of availability check is most useful:
if assembly planning or phantom assembly planning is used to plan the components
if quick statements about the availability situation are required and the results from this check are precise enough
The system uses the open planned independent requirements quantity at component level to determine a committed quantity and this quantity is copied to the planned order header in the Committed quantity field. As opposed to the availability check according to ATP logic, however, the committed quantity is not recorded in the dependent requirements. The planned independent requirements of the components are not consumed by the committed quantity but by the complete dependent requirements quantity. In availability checks that follow, the system can only commit quantities for the amount of planned independent requirements that have not yet been consumed.
In the availability check against planned independent requirements, the following dates/quantities are not calculated:
    overall commitment date
    partial commitment date/quantity
    ATP quantity
In the check according to ATP logic, the system checks whether the dependent requirements of each component are covered by specific receipt and issue elements or by stock. This check is carried out dynamically, that is, each time you carry out the check, the system recalculates the current situation. If a quantity can be committed for the requirement date, the system enters precisely this quantity as the committed quantity in the dependent requirements and the ATP quantity for the components is reduced by the committed quantity. Therefore, in the next availability check, dependent requirements can only be committed for the amount of the remaining ATP quantity.

  • Purchase requisitions are not created for Component by MRP

    Hi,
I have created planned orders for assy. When I run the MRP the purchase requisitions are not created by  MRP for the components. If I check the planned order the components tab is showing all the raw materials list as per the BOM. The master data tab shows the BOM,Routing,Production version etc. But when I run the MRP the components planned orders/purchase requisitions are not created.  There is no stocks available for the components in the plant, still the purchase requisition are not created by MRP.
I have tried in both transactions MD01 and MD02.
I could notice one thing. Supoose if I enter 31.12.2009 is the order finish date, the system creates exception mesage 10- Rescheduling in with proposed date 01.12.2009.  Why the system is propsoing rescheduling in with date 01.12.2009 which past date.
    Please sugest.
    thanks and regards
    Murugesan

    Hi,
I am using MRP type PD  for assy and components. There is no planned orders for assy.
If I run MD02 the planned orders created for assy and purchase requisition are created for raw materials. But if I run MRP in MD01 neither  the planned orders nor the purchase requisitions created.
I tried the Control keys NETCH,NEUPL but still the planned order and purchase requisitions are not created if I run using MD01.
    Please suggest.

  • CKM3 - Material Price Analysis

    Hi Experts,
I want to know is there any standard report that cover like CKM3 but the view is per plant not one by one material. We have thousand of material product that have to controlled.
    thanks for any reply

    Hi,
CKM3 has several views like Price Determination Structure, Price History, Cost Components, Plan/Actual Comparison.
    Your requirement is not clear?
You can get some of the details of CKM3 in t-code: S_P99_41000062: Material List: Prices and Inventory Values. This report you can be execute at Plant Level.
I could not find any other reports. However, you can develop Z* reports. You can check the data in below tables:
MBEW, KEKO, KEPH. CKMLCR, CKMLHD, CKMLKEKO & CKMLKEPH.
    Thanks & Regards,
