Photoshop Express 3.0 - Information on in app purchases, looks and borders

Thank you for using Photoshop Express. In our latest 3.0 version, we revamped the rendering engine in order to deliver great new effects, improved editing controls and a streamlined user experience. That means some things you were familiar with may not be available in this version.
In-app purchases have been renamedThe “Effects Pack” that you previously purchased has been renamed "Premium Looks Pack". You still have access to this Pack.
The “Camera Pack”, which provided Noise Reduction, is now called "Noise" and can be found in the Corrections slider menu.
Restoring in-app purchases. You do not have to initiate a re-purchase.
If you've previously purchased either of the packs above, they are still available to you by restoring your purchase, which is accessed in Settings.
Other changesPrevious Effects and Borders have been replaced with Looks, Premium Looks, and Borders. Some of the new looks replicate many of the most popular effects. We will be adding new borders, looks and sharpen controls in future releases.
We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration for future releases.  We value you as a customer, and hope you like the new borders and looks and continue to enjoy using Photoshop Express.

There was a big change in Photoshop Express 3.0 in the rendering engine. Many items that users accessed often were incorporated in the new release before it went out, but there are other features that had to be implemented differently due to the new rendering engine. Many of these items are on a roadmap for future versions. There are yet others that are more difficult to implement and require more research as to how they would be added. We have a survey out to offer users a way to give input as to which features they are most interested in. (https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DYGG2RH ) Feel free to give your input here.
New versions will be released shortly that will include the Sharpen tool and some of the features you have been requesting. We are also working on adding several additional looks and many symmetrical borders, similar to those you used in previous versions. These features will be added in the near future. We appreciate your patience.

This decision was driven by low usage numbers on the effects we were no longer capable of, which I apologize affected your workflows. We hope you like the premium looks that we developed which are free to you if you restore your purchases (settings menu). We also took the step to create brand new borders, which we will continue to add to as we go along. Again, I apologize that the features you used previously are no longer available. We hope you continue to use the product and give the new features a shot.

When i tried purchasing it again, it says "You have bought this purchase but it has not been downloaded yet. Press Ok to download it" So i pressed Ok and yet it still doesnt appear in the application. Please help me. It is still billed to me but doesnt appear in the application. There are 2 purchases that were billed but did not appear in the application. I'm being billed when i did not even get the purchase in the application.

    If your Dock icon for iPhoto is not working, go to Applications and try opening iPhoto from there.
    Then once the new iPhoto icon appears on the Dock, control click on it, select keep on Dock and drag the other old icon off the dock.

    I tried to purchase Roadsync 5 full version costing US$ 3.89. After I pressed 'Confirm' button, it displayed some error and was thrown back to app selection page once again. Unfortunately when I checked online balance, $ 3.89 has already been deducted from Mastercard.
    So I went to ovi.com -> support -> contact us page. That page has few mandatory fields including "Language". The dropdown combo box has no language options listed and hence I could not submit the issue.
    Anyone can tell me where to look for failed app store purchase and hope contact us page gets corrected soon.

  • EXPRESS: Why no raw support in Photoshop express from Revel?

    We just got back from a trip to Disneyland and I shot over 800 photos in raw format on my Canon camera. I uploaded the images using my iPad to Revel each night and tonight I am home and I opened Photoshop Express so I could send some photos to Walgreens and I see thumbnails of my images from Revel in PSE but when I try to open one, I get an error that Photoshop Express cannot open this file. I dug around some before I found a message from Patti on the forums that says that PSE does not support Raw Files. Come on guys, I am a premium subscriber and I have Raw support in Revel and yet PSE which has more editing options won't support the files. I wanted to tweak some and upload to walgreens to print and it's easier to do it from PSE than to have to use the camera roll and then Walgreens app. I also wanted to upload some to to Flickr which PSE support and Revel used to support but no longer does. What is going on Adobe? Why are all the cloud products so fragmented? I'm starting to consider just storing images on my NAS and using other apps to accomplish the tasks from my iPad because your cloud services are not making this easier.

    But InDesign has it as well and I think this is like the craziest omission I can think of and they have made some serious ones in the past.
    Hopefully the next version all the apps will have it and that in case there are any problems it will be done in the way so that it will not cause any unforeseen difficulties.

  • IPhoto for iOS or Adobe Photoshop Express?

    Hi! So... My dad is a photographer and he is going to use an iPad loaned by the company he is taking pictures for.
    Anyway.... Which app would you recommend for a photographer? As the iPad is going to be loaned out (or he will use my iPad 2) I don't know if it will be an iPad 1, 2, or possibly the new 3 considering the event is in April. I realize Photoshop Express or just the default photos app which does have a few edit tools will have to work if he gets the iPad 1.
    Recommendations are welcome!

    So what youre saying is the default photos app is better so he should just use that?
    For others reading: does the free mobile photoshop (express) work on iPad 1? I know adobe photoshop (touch) requires iPad 2.

    FAQ: Why does the noise reduction tool work differently  in Photoshop Express 3.0.1 than in the previous version?
    The range of the noise reduction tool in the previous version was wider than the the range of the tool in version 3.0.1 When it was used at the outer limits, it would cause images to lose detail and would degrade their quality. The new version balances the amount of noise reduced while still preserving image quality.
    FAQ: Why does my image automatically zoom in when I use the sharpen and noise reduction tools in Photoshop Express 3.0.1?
    Both the sharpen tool and the noise reduction tool can best be adjusted while viewing  the details of the image close up. It allows you to see the changes being made by the tool more clearly and allows for a much more precise adjustment. If you prefer not to use this feature, the zoom can be turned off in the settings panel.
    FAQ: How can I achieve a larger range of sharpen or noise reduction as in the previous version of Photoshop Express?
    While the features are not designed for uses outside of the ranges provided, you can achieve similar results by applying the maximum value for the tool,saving the image to your camera roll, and repeating the process.

    I don't think there was ever anything wrong with your iMac. It should have more than enough power even in its basic configuration. (I am assuming that the Hard Drive is not more than 75% full or fragmented. Either of those situations could cause dropped frames).
    There could be a fault with FCE and the first thing to try is to trash the preferences properly like this:-

    One thing is certain - throwing money at it will not effect a cure. You do not need a more powerful computer or another FCE. If it is not working OK it is because there is something in either your Mac or FCE that needs "adjusting".
    You could also go to FCE HD>System Settings>Memory & Cache and ensure the Application setting is at 100%.

    The icons across the bottom of the screen are:
    Cverlapping circles icon- Looks/Premium looks
    Crop icon-  Crop (also straighten, rotate, flip)
    Correction Sliders icon-  Contrast, noise, clarity, exposure, highlights, shadows, temperature, tint, vibrance
    Eye icon-  Red eye Fix
    Border icon-  Borders
    Image Corrections:
    Instead of selecting the sun icon as you did before for exposure, brightness, contrast, hue/saturation, and tint/temperature, you can now use the corrections sliders for contrast, noise, clarity, exposure, highlights, shadows, temperature, tint, and vibrance. The corrections sliders are the third icon on the bottom. You can also get photos from and save photos to Adobe Revel, our sharing and storage service.
    Here is an explanation as to how most of the previous adjustment options can be accomplished with options in version 3.0:
    White balance can be accomplished by a combination of tint and temperature changes.
    Brightness, is accomplished using contrast, exposure, shadows and highlights.
    Noise reduction is now in the corrections slider area
    Contrast is a choice in the corrections slider area.
    Hue can be modified by changing tint and temperature, choices in the corrections slider area.
    Saturation -similar results can be accomplished by vibrance, except vibrance will preserve the skin tones and saturated colors.
    Sharpen- Sharpen is not currently available in  version 3.0. You can try clarity for now, which is somewhat similar.

    it also does the model.setValueAt allright....but this triggers a tableChanged event and it goes back up - this is also fine. However, when it now comes back to the this.selectedIndex = , this again returns the index of the original selection and not a -1 (for values not in the ComboBox list). This makes it go into an infinite loop and gives me a StackOverflowError.

  • Can I move in-app purchases from one iPad to another?

    Yes you can restore from the backup of the iPad 1. You will be restoring all this information here. I made "in-App Purchases" bold and larger so that it will stand out. The "settings" of the new iPad as you are thinking about it would really be the new features - the settings of any iPad are what the iOS does on the device.
    You will have to sync your media back to the iPad - your apps, music, photos, movies, books, TV shows - but all of the information below will be restored to the new iPad when you restore from the backup. I copied this information below from this link.

    iTunes will back up the following information
    Contacts* and Contact Favorites (regularly sync contacts to a computer or cloud service such as iCloud to back them up).

    * Your contacts are part of the backup to preserve recent calls and favorites lists. Back up your contacts to a supported personal information manager (PIM), iCloud, or another cloud-based service to avoid any potential contact data loss. 
    I have restored form backups several times - last night actually was the most recent. All of my settings were restored and I lost nothing. I have never made in app purchases, but they are listed in the information abaove. If you do the restore properly, you should be fine.

    I bought and downloaded pinball acade from itunes in the last year.  I bought all in app puchases possible ( all pinball machines). Downloading them to my itouch an ipad as necessary.  Sometimes they would crash and I would simply reload them.  I bought a new iphones this week and while putting this app on my
    new phone (with in app puchases) I noticed my balance on my Itunes account was going down faster than my gas tank.  They were charging me again  I contacted Apple and Itunes and they told me it was not there problem and I needed to contact Pinballarcade.com.  That is like buying a washing machine from Sears and after having problems, they tell me to contact Kenmore.  I have bought thousands in music and apps over the years.  I will start switching to other services in the future.  I also have an occupation that allows me to interact with the public.  Whenever the opportunity allows,  I will tell them of my experiences.
    I did try to contact pinballarcade.com, but the website is not working, and I am running out of patience.

    The Same thing happened to me! I lost about 15 Tables from all first 3 seasons and I contacted their shoddy support email, and got a response saying that I should do this that and the other thing and I followed their advice only to get the same result....All of those table are still only available to me if I purchase them!  I am so upset, I think I lost about $60.00 in purchases for which I have all my receipts for....Anyone know an answer?  No snarky replies please, what do you have to gain from that..I'm sure we've all been screwed by in-app purchases before and you know what a shock it is.  Thanks in Advance!
