Pie Chart Available Attributes

Hi All,
I am trying to create a Pie Chart.
Query looks something like this -
select count(column_a), column_a from table_a
group by target_type
When I drop this Business Component on to the jsff page --> Select Graph --> Pie Chart --> Create Pie graph Dialogue Box
The list of Available attributes is empty.
Please help me out here.
Thanks
Chitrangada

Hello Marco,
I think I've found the cause.
That was not because of "order by" clause, but because of the length of column data used in the legend section.
When the column data for legend is longer than 38 chars, this SVG chart becomes blank in my case.

  • No data in Active sessions pie-chart and availability is 0%

    Hi All,
    Does anyone know why my Enterprise Manager cosole in Oracle 10g installed on windows xp professional is not showing any data? Availabilty is always 0% for the instance ORCL and the active sessions pie-chart is always showing 0.01 since May 17,2005.
    Can anyone tell me how to configure EM so that instance ORCL and the active sessions start showing data again?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Kindly activate the data request. Post that, Under "request available for reporting" a symbol will appear which means that the data has been moved to Active table and is available for reporting at further levels.
    And you can then check for contents in the active table of the DSo, you should get the records.
    Change log: Contains the change history for the delta update from the DataStore object into other data targets, such as DataStore objects or InfoCubes. It makes sense in case of delta uploads.

  • How do I link to a table from a slice of a pie chart?

    My project manager is after me to add a feature to a pie chart built on one of my tables. The code that selects from the table for the pie chart is this:
    select 'http://apexdevapp1.ci.raleigh.nc.us:7777',activity_type,count(ID) total FROM eba_ver2_cust_activity
    where ACTIVITY_DATE BETWEEN NVL(TRIM(:P23_START_DATE), '01-JAN-2001') AND NVL(TRIM(:P23_END_DATE),
    '31-DEC-2099')
    group by activity_type,'http://apexdevapp1.ci.raleigh.nc.us:7777';
    She wants to be able to click on a slice of the pie ("activity_type") and link to another page showing a report limited to that activity_type, selected from the same table. I know how to link from one interactive report to another, but I don't know how to do it from a slice of a pie chart. Does anybody know how?
    I'd appreciate some guidance on this.

  • To collect small slices into a secondary, callout pie chart in SSRS 2005

    Hi Guys,
    There exists a property in pie chart in SSRS-2008 which can consolidate the small slices on pie chart. But I am unable to find the same property in SSRS-2005.
    Is this property only available in SSRS-2008 ? If yes how can we achieve the same functionality in SSRS-2005 Pie Chart ?

    Hello,
    Based on my research, the CollectedStyle property that collect small slices into one signal slice or a secondary, callout pie chart is available from Reporting Services 2008. So it is not supported in Reporting Services 2005.
    For example, you are using the query below to return the SECTION and DIVISION fields as the chart fields: SELECT SECTION , DIVISION FROM TEMP, and you want to collect small slice COUNT(DIVISION) smaller than 5 as the callout pie chart. To work around this
    issue, we can create two charts on the surface, one as the big and collected slices chart, another one as the secondary, callout pie chart. For more details, please refer to the following steps:
    We can use the query with some conditions like below to return the fields for the main chart:
    SELECT CASE
       WHEN COUNT(DIVISION) <= 5 THEN 'Other'
       WHEN COUNT(DIVISION) >5 THEN SECTION
       END  AS SECTION, COUNT(DIVISION) AS DIVISION
     FROM TEMP
    GROUP BY SECTION, DIVISION
    We can use the query like below to return the fields for the callout pie chart:
    SELECT CASE
          WHEN COUNT(DIVISION) <= 5 THEN SECTION
       END  AS SECTION, CASE
          WHEN COUNT(DIVISION) <=5 THEN COUNT( DIVISION)
       END  AS DIVISION
     FROM TEMP
    GROUP BY SECTION, DIVISION

  • Pie Chart Labels - 5's turn into 6's at 100% zoom on screen but print OK

    I have a really odd problem; an application I developed that is changing the numerals on the labels of a pie chart.
    All 5's change to 6's.  This problem is occuring on multiple end user workstations.  It only displays incorrectly at 100% zoom level on the screen.  If they change the zoom level, or print the report, the numbers appear correct.
    I've put a screenshot in a photobucket in case anyone wants to see.  One is a .png and one is a (larger) .bmp.
    http://s1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc493/fohlinedata/
    Adding to the problem is that I'm unable to reproduce the issue, either on my dev. machine or on a test machine.
    The application was developed with VS 2005, and the setup program was created using the 2005 SP1 msm.
    I've tried searching to no avail, and I'm hoping someone has an idea on this one!

    Hello,
    That is very strange. I think it has to do with either Microsoft's USP10 or GDIPlus dll's.
    Try changing screen resolution or screen size and possibly the DPI settings to see if it corrects the problem.
    They may wan to update their Video card drivers also.
    What version of CR are you using? It may be resolved in some service or fix pack. The charting dll is from a third party so you may want to use [Modules |https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip]to verify they are all using the same runtime files also.

    Usually when I give show data labels "always" option , that displays the % on top of the pie or side to the pie but >Iam trying to get the % value ON the pie By dedault you don't have this, by changing the pie.pcxml we can achieve this.
    It is in the folder <OracleBI_home>\web\app\res\s_oracle10\popbin
    But the changes you do will affect all the pie charts as whole. Before do the changes take the backup of pie.pcxml.
    In the pie.pcxml, Goto -> DataLabels tag, by default the value would be Position='OutWithLeader'
    Change that attribute to, Position='Inside'
    After the changes save and restart javahost and presentation server.
    This will do.
    If you don't want the pcxml change, create your new pcxml file and point it.
    I am wondering to know is there >any way we can show the actual value instead of percentage in PIE view . Change the setting as bifacts said.

  • Labels in Pie Charts

    Hi,
    I have two questions about the behavior of labels in pie charts:
    Question 1:
    When I format pie chart labels as 'NameandValue', the result in the label pie chart always appears as 'Value' and then 'Name', how can I change this?
    Question 2:
    I have several pie charts, that overlap labels, how can I customize charts in order for that never to occur?

    In order to achieve that you will need to change the pcxml files controlling the pie chart (since the chart is actually produced by the Corda engine)
    They are in
    \\OracleBI\web\app\res\s_oracle10\popbin
    and for oc4j in:
    \\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res\s_oracle10\popbin
    I don't have all the variables available off the top of my head, but John posted a quite exhaustive list:

    Hi Kai,
    If I want to create a bar chart with DP that looks as follows:
    <b><u>Material       Total</u></b>
             A                    5
             B                   10
             C                     7
             D                    4
    Overall result           26
    Then How do I get the labels A, B, C, D in the Y axis  as the name of the "category" and also all the series represented in diffrent color say 5 (red), 10(yellow), 7 (blue), 4(green). I am not able to get these two criteria met?
    what I am able to achieve is either
    1. (A, B, C, D )are shows as the name of the category in the Y-axis, and (total) on X-axis-- then it will have only one series (ie total)....Hence cannot give different colors for the bar representing the category A,B,C,D
    (or)
    2.  (material) shown as the name of the category on Y-axis and (total) on X-axis and the series will have (A, B, C, D) in different colors but the name of the series will be shown anywhere inside the bar and not as the name of the category....b'cos the name of the category will be (material)
    so how do i get the ......labels A, B, C, D in the Y axis  as name of the "category" (instead of material)  and also all the series represented in different color say 5 (red), 10(yellow), 7 (blue), 4(green).
    Please let me know if this is possible with the chart wizard in 3.x or 7.0 WAD. I tried and so far no luck!
    Earlier in 3.0B it was possible by right clicking every data point to change it's color.
    Thankyou,

  • Regarding Pie Chart Display

    Hi this is Prasad,
                             I want to display a pie chart with the associated results from the query template.It is working fine if I have any values in the database.I want to Display the Text 'No Data is Found' if i dont have data in the database.Is it possible to display like this.Can anyone help on this.
    Thanks,
    Prasad.

    The 'No Data Available' message only displays when a fatal error occurs but not 0 rows (not desirable in this case).  How about adding the UpdateEvent in your PARAM tags and in the corresponding function doing something like this:
    var myApplet = document.APPLETNAME;
    var myChart = myApplet.getChartObject();
    if (parseInt(myChart.getNumberOfDataPoints(1)) > 0) {
       myChart.setTitle("You have pie slices");
    } else {
       myChart.setTitle("No Records Found");
    myApplet.setUpdateEventEnabled(false);
    myApplet.updateChart(false);
    myApplet.setUpdateEventEnabled(true);
    This should allow you to use standard stuff and not incorporate monkey business with hidden/visible divs and/or additional applets just for running separate queries.

  • Collected Tooltip does not display in SSRS 2008 or SSRS 2008 R2 on a pie chart

    I've tried everything I can think of, but setting the Custom Property "Collected Tooltip" for a pie chart where there is data that will be "collected" into an "Other" slice doesn't appear to work.  I am using SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 R2,
    and neither one seems to display the collected tooltip.   I have no difficulty getting a tooltip to appear for all the other slices in the pie, using the series tooltip property.    I've searched this forum as well as Google, and the
    only things I managed to find with any reference was one page that shows you where all those custom attributes are and how to use them.    Is there a bug here, or am I doing something wrong?

  • Interactive Bar/pie chart and line graph, data from excel/text file -urgent

    Hi,
    I have a huge data in excell sheet which keeps updating every month. Data basically consists of service provider and there respective subscribers from various regions of the country over the years. The requirement is to give the viewers an interactive page where in they can make various combinations and can compare, cross examine data according to thier choice.
    We want the pie chart / bar graph or line graph to be created on the fly according to the combination made by the user.
    The site is hosted on a red hat linux server. how can a connection to the excel spreadsheet be made or is it possible to read from the text file if the entire data is exported to a text file.
    Is there any ready made tool/code available which can be customised according to the need.
    Thanx in advance

    I certainly wouldn't pay for the graphing package at the previous link. check out http://www.object-refinery.com/jfreechart/ for a free, open-source, much better looking graphing package.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    To set the slices of your pie chart to "exploded" upon page load, the setting of 'exploded="True"' would need to be applied to each point of the data component of the chart XML. So you would need to replace the substitution string #DATA# with the customised data containing this new attribute. For example:
    <data><series><point name="ADAMS" y="1100" exploded="True"/></series></data>
    How you choose to do so is up to you, but I've outlined one possible option on my sample application, https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:117, which uses PL/SQL to generate the data XML with the new attribute. As you'll see in the AnyChart online User's Guide, specifically in section Pie and Donut Chart, they've referred to a series level attribute <series exploded="True" />,but this option currently doesn't appear to be working.  I've contacted AnyChart regarding this behaviour, and will hopefully receive clarification on whether or not the documented series level attribute works.  In the meantime, applying the attribute to each point of the data series will provide the behaviour you're looking for.
    I hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Hilary
