Planning scenarios

Friends,
In  SAP documentation, i remember having read that the way sales orders or independent customer requirements consume PIR can be controlled by requirement class and type. then is it possible that even if i choose strategy 10, i can achieve the above result or is it applicable only for strategies 20/40/50??.
rgds.....kiran

Hi Inguva,
If you look at the configuration for demand management the you will realise that for each strategy, there is a requirement type attached to it and hence this straight away affect the MD04 screen.
For e.g. if you select the strategy 40 then the pp requirement type related to it is VSF and the sales requirement type is KSV.This means that the sales order values will consume the independent requirements entering in MD04.
if you select 10 as the strategy then PP requirement type is LSF and the sales requirement type is KSL.This means that the sales order will not consume the independent requirements.Infact independent requirement will be consumed only after PGI is done.

I am facing the following problem:
I have a Production lot planning scenario. I have done all customizing and master data maintenace as described in SAP Help for realizing the scenario with transfer posting to plant stock (req class 092).
However my PIRs wich are assigned to the specific production lot are not getting reduced after the transfer posting to plant stock. I need your help to resolve this problem.
Thank you in advance for your input.
    Best regards,
    Nikolay

    Hello Satyajit Kumar,
    Thanks for your reply.
The movement type that I use is 411 "Q" and the WBS is the correct one, but PIR still remains unreduced. Please advise.

  • Allow alphabetical to be inputted in key planning scenario (RM61L-PLSCN)

    Dear Expert,
As i know, now i can only input numeric /number for key code planning scenario in MS31. the challenge is how if I have used all the variant numbers as the system allows 3 characters only for planning scenario code.  The only way I can think is by using alphabetical  ( a -z). can we change the system setting to allow the alphabetical to be inputted in planning scenario code/ key?
    Thanks
    Pauline

    Hi Mario,
    Thanks for your reply,
How about if I add to 4 characters, means i can have up to 9999 scenarios with numeric. we have our own reasons to use all the 999 scenarios, example here:
    106 - for january 2006
    206 - for february 2006
    and so on...
    Thanks

  • Different planning strategy in defferent planning scenario

    Hi ,
Is anybody can explain me how can use different planning strategy in different planning scenario ?
    Thanks !

    Hello Denny
Planning strategies represent the business procedures for the planning of production quantities and dates. A wide range of production planning strategies are available in the SAP R/3 System, offering a large number of different options ranging from pure make-to-order production to make-to-stock production. Depending on the strategy you choose, you can:
Use sales orders and/or sales forecast values to create the demand program
Move the stocking level down to the assembly level so that final assembly is triggered by the incoming sales order
Carry out Demand Management specifically for the assembly
    <b>Choose a make-to-stock strategy, if:</b>
The materials are not segregated. In other words, they are not assigned to specific sales orders.
Costs need to be tracked at material level, and not at sales order level.
You should always use make-to-stock production if you produce stock independently of orders because you want to provide your customers immediately with goods from that stock later on. You might even want to produce goods without having sales orders, if you expect that there might be customer demand in the future. This means that make-to-stock strategies can support a very close customer-vendor relationship because your objective here is to provide your customers with goods from your stock as quickly as possible. Returns that have passed quality inspection and other unexpected goods receipts can be used for other sales orders.
This does not mean that you have unreasonably high stock levels. You can avoid them by doing one of the following:
Create a production plan in advance (in Demand Management) to plan your stock.
If you make use of this option, you may also want to decide whether sales orders exceeding your plan are to affect production or not.
Receive sales orders relatively early on (using scheduling agreements, for example).
    <b>Choose a make-to-order strategy, if:</b>
The materials are segregated. In other words, they are uniquely assigned to specific sales orders.
Costs must be tracked at sales order level and not on material level.
    reward if it is useful

  • Problems with planning scenarios

    Dear all
I've a huge problem with the scheduling of a project. I hope I can explain it properly.
I've created a project with some networks in it. The planning scenario is free scheduling and strict bottom up. I'm using the backward scheduling.
Some of the networks, which are connected with the "Main" Network now are not scheduled properly. For example I have an acitivity in the "Main" network which is connected with a FS relationship to an activity (this activity has set up a constraint earliest possible) of another network. When I'm carrying out the scheduling this activity is planned much later than the activity in the Main network. In some other similar networks the scheduling is carried out regurarly.
Now, when I'm changing the planning scenario to bottom up, canceling the start date in the network of concern and making a new scheduling of the whole project, the activity is placed in the right period. When I'm changing back the planning scenario and rescheduling the project once more, the activity is again postponed, even further in the future than before.
is somebody out there who is able to help me?
    many thanks

  • General Cost Center planning scenario

Good day house, I am wondering if the general cost center planning Best Practice scenario can be used for planning for fixed asset cost considering that only primary cost elements are included in the download for update.  Can this scenario serve this purpose? If yes, how considering that the cost elements for fixed assets are statistical?

    Hi,
You can plan on statistical cost elements exactly as you do on real one. Please, specify your question...

  • Clarify on this Cost Center Planning Scenario

    Folks,
Would appreciate inputs for the following scenario that I am attempting in overhead planning
In the planning layout I need to enter proposed budget for the various cost elements
The cost element is master data; the requirement is against the cost element I would require another column which is the cost element description; description is maintained in the text table; description is not identified as an attribute in the cost element characteristic
How can I add description along with the cost element code
    1. Do clarify whether this is feasible only if the description is identified as an attribute
    Thanks for your time
    Regards
    Ramesh

    Hi Ramesh,
For getting the cost element description alongwith the code, go to Change Layout
    1. In the layout you would be having Cost Element as the Lead column on the first screen, select the type of text you would like to be displayed for the Cost element here i.e. Short, Medium, long
    2. Continue and go to the second screen of the layout.
    3. Go to the Lead columns tab here.
    4. Select the Display option here for "cost element" here as Key/Name and you will be able to see the description alongwith the cost element code
    Hope it helps.
    Cheers

  • Typical Planning Scenario

    Hello
My client have the following scenario
    1) They wait to produce the orders till the orders are accumulated and full capacity of workcenter is reached, then they execute the orders in a single or multiple joborder.
for Ex.    xxxx10 material   50000 qty,      yyyy10  material   50000  qty,
                  xxxx11 material   35000 qty,      yyyy11  material     5000  qty,
                  xxxx12 material   25000 qty      yyyy12  material     5000  qty,
                  xxxx13 material     2500 qty,      yyyy13  material     5000  qty,
                 xxxx14 material     3500  qty,      yyyy14  material     3500  qty,
                 xxxx15 material     5000  qty      yyyy15  material     5000  qty,
Then they plan such a way that the production is continued with a product mix of different material so a min joborder quantity is maintained in each joborder.
can anyone please suggest a better scenario to map the requirement as client is very particular and want to run this scenario as this suits their requirement.
    regds

    Hi,
You can Use capacity planning for this, Capacity evaluation should help you.
You can check the capacity available against work center and capacity occupied.
You can then also see precisely the no,. of orders and Which orders are getting planned against this work Center.

  • Planning scenarios being used for SAP implementation at Foundry?

    Hi,
Please share information on SAP Implementation at Foundry. Which scenario is most suitable? Foundry consists of various depts like Sand division, Core Shop, Melting Shop, Moulding Line, Fettling operation etc. How we can make use of SAP to control overall rejection at Foundry. What is the configuration etc..??

    Hi,
u can use discreate manufacturing scenoria for core manufaturing.
    My suggestion is as follows,
1.define the finished core as core assembly.
    2. since demand of core is decided from the demand of mold, u can define core assembly as bom item of Mold(under Mold BOM header).
3.by doing this, during the MRP, systems gives procurements proposals for core assembly if there is no stock avalibale.
4.so we ccan create seperate production order, and we can confirm yield and rejection qty.
5.after production u can enter the rejection qty while conforing production order.
letme know  if u have any futher doubt..
    regards

  • SNP Capacity plaaning scenario with planning products

    Hello APO Experts,
I have come across a capacity planning scenario in metal industry.
Suppose the machine is producing sheets of thickness ranging 2mm thickness to 8mm thickness. There are three groups as shown below P, Q, R,
These individual product orders are loaded on Resource: W100
Groups                                                          Limited Capacity In Tons          Individual products   Planning product
    Group P: Less than 2 mm                                      75                          a1, a2, a3, a4, a5                       P
    Group Q: From 2mm to 4 mm                               100                           b1, b2, b3, b4, b5                     Q
    Group R: From 4mm to 8mm                                 325                         c1, c2, c3, c4, c5                        R
The total sheets produced in one day 500.tons  All the groups should be producced on daily basis in the sequence of P,Q,R. Limiting the capacity given above. In SNP planning , I would to limit the capacity based on the basis of planning products.
The planned orders will be coming for Individual products that are a1, a2, a3, a4.
In SNP planning run, the quantity of Individual orders should be sum up at the group level.
For Group P : a1, a2, a3 u2026. Sum up and the quantity should be checked for Capacity of 75 tons order quantity.
For Group Q : b1, b2, b3u2026. Sum up and the quantity should be checked for capacity of 100 tons order quantity.
Like wise for Group R : c1, c2, c3u2026. Sum up and the quantity should be checked for capacity of 300 tons order quantity.
I want to use the planning product concept to model this scenario. P will be the planning product for a1,a2,a3....
Q will be the planning product for b1,b2,b3....
Following master data created : Material master , BOM , routing for individual products. Material master for planning product. Planning product updated in the material master of individual products in MRP view.
Please let me know , your suggestions for use of planning product scenario with capacity check on product group level.
    Waiting for your reply.
    Regards,

    Ravindra,
So, you are saying you are unconcerned about consumption of independent demand, and unconcerned about performing ATP against a forecast, which are the main feature of a planning product?  You are only interested in how your supply elements and capacity consumption is aggregated/disaggregated?  If this is the case, I don't understand why you would wish to use Planning materials.  Based on what little you have told us of your requirements, I would think that Product Hierarchies would be more suitable......

  • CM38 considering orders of operative planning on the simulative scenario

    Dear friends,
I'm trying to use the T-code CM38 to analise the capacity load of one LTP planning, but this transaction is taking into account some production orders of the operative planning.
I already checked in T-code MS32 to be sure that my planning scenario is not considering the "receipts", and all those options is not flagged.
I'm using the profile SAPPLAN01 or YBLTP01 to analise the capacity on CM38.
How can I see only the capacity load of simulation orders (my LTP scenario orders) in this transaction? Is it possible?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rodrigo

    Dear Rodrigo,
In CM38,under detailed settings check whether this planning scenario is mentioned before entering into the capacity details.
