Please help! I synced my iphone 5 with itunes and it deleted all the current information I had on it and restored all info from my iphone 4. Can I recover the info I already had on my iphone 5?

I have had my Iphone 5 for a little while now and today I connected it to Itunes to download a movie to my phone. I thought I had to restore the phone so I restored it back to my iphone 4. I deleted all the new ringtones I just bought and I lost all photos and notes I had on my iphone 5. Is there a way to unsync?? Is there a way to recover what I lost. I downloaded wondershare but I can't recover from an Iphone 5 and I hadn't synced the iphone 5 with itunes until today but again i restored it back to iphone 4 data.

It can not do that all by itself.
When you plugged it in, iTunes said 'Oh goody! You got a new phone! Would you like to make it just like your old phone?'...
You explicitly said 'Yes'.
You can't undo that.
No backup of the current state of the new phone was made. It was wiped and the last backup of your old phone was restored to it.
Anything you had on the new phone is gone.

iOS device backups are stored in your iTunes library.
Move your iTunes library to an external drive.

When you open iTunes and plug in iPhone (iPod) to computer, it appear in the left bar. Then just simply right click on you iPhone (iPod) and choose Transfer Purchases, this should copy your purchased items to your computer.

• HT1212 Please help! My Ipod wont connect to Itunes and has a thing I have never seen on the screen before.

When I plug in my Ipod touch it has a symbol on it saying connect to Itunes. When I connect it to Itunes it says I need to unlock my Ipod before I can connect to Itunes but my Ipod touch wont even let me put a code in, it just has that symbol. I tried uninstalling Itunes and restarting the computer then installing Itunes again but nothing changed. I have never heard of this before so I don't know what to do!

iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

• HT1386 I synced my new phone with iTunes and half of the songs only play for first 2 mins even though they show the time of the full track

Only half the songs synced completely on my iPhone the others play only first couple of minutes then stop playing. They show on iTunes and the phone that they are fully downloaded. How can I fix this without buying all the songs again?

• Itunes update 10 deleted all info and library.

updated iphone to 4.2.1 and it cleared all my sms and contacts like a new phone. i updated itunes and it cleared my itunes folder like an empty library, with no apps or anything. just have the names of albums and songs but no artwork.
Called apple and they said nothing they can do sorry for the inconvienence. There must of been a problem with the installation. over 20gb of music and 2 years worth of texts and contacts.
There must be another way of finding them? other than checking previous backup date as thats deleted as well. appreciate all help, thanks

Hmm, you probably should have restored the iPhone from the backup immediately after upgrading to 4.2.1. if it didn't have the content you expected. Not an area I have too much experience with but I recall the restore worked fine the one time I've used it.
As to the "disappearing library" on upgrading iTunes that does seem to happen from time to time, although it should just be the library file that has been damaged, not your media files. You should have a *Previous iTunes Libraries* folder with a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename *iTunes Library* as *iTunes Library (Empty)* and then rename the recovered file as *iTunes Library*. Start iTunes. If all goes well your library will be restored.

• Please Help me sync my IPhone and Ipad to Outlook 2011 calendar

I am unable to sync my calendar on my iPhone correctly and it will not sync at all on my iPad. I don't want or need to use iCal or iSync (I think) because I am using Exchange 2007 I believe. I can retrieve email, and the calendar loads, but the meetings are not at the right times (e.g., a 3:30 PM meeting is in the AM and my first meeting of the morning does not show up at 9:00 but shows up as an all day event). The outlook calendar on my desktop is OK.

• I stuffed around with itunes and now I cant see my device when I connect...Please help??

Please help I am a total spaz with itunes! lol I can't see my device in itunes..

Hello there chester,
It sounds like your iPhone is no longer recognized in iTunes when you plug it in. I recommend the steps from the following article to help troubleshoot what you are seeing:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538
This is an overview of the troubleshooting to be done:
1. Update iTunes
2. Check the USB cable
3. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
4. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service
5. Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed
6. Check for third-party software conflicts
If the issue persists, I would next try uninstalling iTunes and all its associated softwares with either of the following articles depending on your version of Windows. Note: this will not affect your iTunes Library.
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows XP

or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

• Every time I sync my Iphone 5c(with ios 8) to Itunes, it 1. deletes all of my purchased music 2. deletes all of my album artwork 3. replaces all of my deleted songs. please help! this is driving me crazy!

Every time I sync my Iphone 5c(with ios 8) to Itunes, it 1. deletes all of my purchased music 2. deletes all of my album artwork 3. replaces all of my deleted songs. please help! this is driving me crazy! It syncs 100+ songs, when I only want to sync 1! I'm running Itunes 11.3.1.2

After having experienced similar problems and having it back to work, I have a few suggestions:
- Try to find out if the syncing stops at a particular track or song. That might - out of the blue - have gotten corrupted in one way or another. Since that song will not be on the iPod, iTunes will try over and over to put it on and crash in one way or another;
- reformat the iPod as described in the iTunes 9 crash-thread. It takes time (at first it seems to do nothing, but that is because the green bar is moving with very small steps);

• Trying to sync iPhone 4 with itunes and get an error message PLEASE help

I am currently using and iPhone 4. This morning I had synced my iPhone with itunes and it was working fine. I came home and wanted to add some music and such to it and all of a sudden i will plug it in to itunes and i,t looks like its going gets to step 2 of 6 (which is the back up process) and then an error message comes up saying itunes has stopped working, my only option to do is exit the window..
Any ideas why this would be the case? its really frustrating me. I am also not the most computer savvy.
Thanks

Try reinstalling iTunes http://www.apple.com/itunes/
If that doesn't help, if you are using a Windows based computer, could be your anti virus software or your firewall that's preventing the sync.
