Please help....my nano doesnt play music...

When i choose a song that I want to play, it doesnt play it. INstead, it skips to the song after it and then the song after that and then the song after that and so on. But the songs never play. It just skips and skips. What do I do? I need help...

Try the 5 R's one by one, especially Reset and Restore, see if they help. These are the main starting points for most problems and tend to solve a good few too lol

If you are working out with this divide and running it will shake to shuffel and you can go under playlist and add new play list and make that way and you can put them in any order and you can turn off shake to shuffel and the settings under music

Ipod doesnt play music when connected to usb port

ipod nano wont play music through the usb port. My Iphone and another nano works on the same port. Cabe is good.
The song is displayed and I can switch to other songs but no output.

My 6th gen doesnt play music HELP ?

so i bought a nano (6th gen) a month ago. i havent droped it or anything its bein on my wrist pretty much everyday & i use it on the daily. but it wont play music anymore, wich upsets me because i JUST got it last month its only bein like 3 weeks & im already having problems? when i press play it wont start. i go to the last screen were you control what part of the song you want to here & i move it to the middle & it goes back to 0:00 & then the song switches while i do that PLEASE help .
i updated my itunes & made shure the program was up to date as well

My nano stops playing music

i got a problem:
i go out of the house and want to hear some music with my ipod nano. i can hear about 2 minutes and after it stops playing music like hitting the play button (down on the clickwheel ^^).
i tried nearly everything and im very desperate!!! and YES i had the 'HOLD' button on! ^^

And please know that I'm VERY computer illiterate and VERY frustrated right now. I've searched through dozens of answers to this questions and don't understand any of them. I don't know what a file is or what a folder is and I don't know how to "find" my iTunes folder. I have about 100 albums on iTunes and want to transfer them over to my laptop. I bought an external hard drive today don't know how to use it and the manual is useless.
I've looked at countless posts on here and most of them are riddled with terminology I don't understand. When you tell me to "find" my iTUNES folder...I don't know what that means or how to do that.
Please help me and keep in mind that you'll need to explain everything NOT LIKE I'M A 3 YEAR OLD....3 YEAR OLDS KNOW HOW TO DO THIS CRAP! Talk to me like a very, very computer illiterate adult. The PC(where the music is now)runs Windows XP and the laptop(where I want the music to be) is running Windows Vista

Ok. Update. I think I have my iTunes library on my external drive. Now, I need to know how to get it onto my laptop. When I "import" into iTunes, it only lets me bring over one album at a time. Even then, when I unplug the external drive, it says that the file cannot be found and won't play. However, if the external drive is plugged in, it will play the album.

Please help - Ipod freezes when playing any video

Hi
I only got my ipod video a day ago and it wont play any video files. Everytime i go to play a video it freezes and just shows a black screen. I have tried downloading a music video from the itunes store and this wont work either. When i first got it i did play one video, im not sure if this was before i updated the firmware though?
I cannot figure out how to reset the firmware if this is what i need to do?
I would really appreciate some advice.

I just got my iPod like two months ago and it wouldn't play any video podcast until I downloaded the new iTunes software. Now it plays some video podcasts but not all. I tried to watch some new podcasts I had downloaded from iTunes and it would play some of it then just freeze and make these wierd sounds. I tried again and it totally froze where I couldn't do anything, not even turn it off. It stayed that way until the battery was completely drained then it turned itself off later that night. The next morning I charged it up and it worked fine but I still can't watch those podcasts. Please help, cause this thing is pretty much brand new and for the amount of money I spent on it I don't want it to start giving me problems after only two months.

Please help - itunes/nano issues

So I recieved my new ipod nano today, downloaded itunes onto my laptop (Windows 8) no problem. Then tried to sign into the store to retrieve previously downloaded music and it just says 'store currently unavailable please try again later'. However, when I sign into the store using my daughters ID, I can do so no problem. My own ID is working on my tablet to access the store, however as this does not have a USB port I am unable to sync music to it via this. Please help, this is so frustrating!

I cannot get my ipod nano to work. I just got it and im not particularly good with technology but im sure it shouldnt be this hard. When i turn it on i get the folder with exclaimation mark msg - so as the website says i tried to restore it to factory settings. BUT when i do this on my computer, it comes up with "Update version invalid" what is this? I have itunes 7 (the new one??). I'm so confused, can anyone help? a step-by-step guide would be MUCH appreciated but any input would be great.

The iPod is designed to sync to one computer as it copies the music to a special file for the iPod OS and software to play.
You can enable "disk mode" and use that to transfer any file back and forth, but the iPod won't play music files stored in the "disk mode" portion you set in iTunes Preferences with the ipod plugged in.
Basically the software you used to transfer the music out of the "special file" back into iTunes is not authorized, it's a "hack". So Apple routinely disables the hacks because of agreements to protect the music from piracy.
Another thing is the music you got from your friend may indeed by ACC/"Fairplay" copy protected music bought from the iTunes Music Store, unless your computer is one of the five authorized, it won't play.
Also because you hooked your iPod to your friends PC, the "ownership" might have changed and Apple may have employed something that your iPod is no longer recognized as yours.
What you probably have to do is use the iPod software to "reset" your iPod, clear out everything in the process and just hook it to your computer.
If you want to transfer uncopy protected, non-copy righted "free" music to your computer from another computer, enable the iPod's "disk mode" and set a size to balance between the music in your "special file" and the needs of what you intend to transfer.
Once you get home, transfer the music files into your iTunes, then you can copy them to the "special file" so the iPod can play them.
It's a bit complicated, but's it's designed to prevent mass theft of music (so the artists will provide their music online) and keep the benefit of syncing/playlists in line.

Please Help with Shuffle not playing Podcasts in Playlist order

Hi wanted to find out if others are going thru the same thing concerning PODCASTS. When I download a podcast and I put it into a playlist the podcasts should be able to be played in a sequential order as long as the number column is "clicked" so it plays 1,2,3 and so on. Well thats not happening....UGHHH when I sync my 2G shuffle now after 7.2 upgrade it decides it wants to put an episode of one type of podcast then another episode from another podcasts.. as if it is in random mode... But asure you I have the random/shuffle turned off both on the itunes and the shuffle itself. and everytime I go to sync it I can see the little circle updates syncing out of order and the sync window shows them being copied out of order... And so it syncs it to the order it comes up in the window. I cant get it to stop doing this. I have even tried unistalling 7.2 and quicktime and downgrading to 7.1.1.5 and it still is doing the same thing. Anybody please help this is very irritating... Thanks for your time....

I am trying to auto sort podcasts in a smart playlist.
Click in tethe h very first column and drag the podcasts in the order you want.
Right click on the playlist name and *Copy to play order*.

Very frastrated. Please HELP! SX712 problem copying music from latptop to IC recorder

It worked before. I haven't used it for a while. Now, I wasted hours to try to solve this problem to no avail.
When I connected my SX712 IC Recorder to my laptop, I could see 3 folders: MUSIC, PODCAST and VOICE and one file: capability_01.
I copied a bunch of MP4 files to the MUSIC folder and then disconnected the IC Recorder from the laptop.
On the IC Recorder, I pressed the "folder" button. Only MUSIC and BOOKS were shown next to the Conversation icon. The Conversation icon was the only icon showing on the left panel. There was no MUSIC or PODCAST icons or any of the files that I copied over which were visible to me when the IC Recorder was connected to the laptop.
What did I do wrong?

Hi Mimi! The ICD-SX712 Digital Voice Recorder only supports MP3, WMA, AAC-LC and PCM files. MP4 files are not supported.

No, I have not tried any backup tools. I havent restored my ipod back to factory settings yet and then sync everything back on it. I am kind of scared too because I dont want to lose anything. I have just been hoping some new apple software update will come out because I know several people have had problems when updating to the newest version available.

Ok. So I sent a video from premiere pro to encore using dynamic link. Then I created a menu in encore and dragged video to play button I created for the dvd. However, when I burn the dvd, the menu is not a part of the DVD. I do not know why this happens when I use a dynamic linked video. It does not happen when I use other videos. Please help. You need to set the menu to be first play.
If you create a timeline before you add a menu, the timeline becomes first play. If you set the end action of the timeline to the menu, it will eventually get there, but that does not appear to be what you want.
