Portal adds nbsp; when rendering custom type

Hi,
We have created a custom item type with an associated function/procedure. In our region 'associated functions' is the only attribute that is displayed. Space around and between items is set to 0. Oracle Portal seems to allways render a space/blank (ampersand nbsp;) after the results of our render procedure. This causes an additional empty line between our items.
Can we prevent Portal from rendering this space/blank? Any suggestions?

I'm connecting from a .NET App to the cache server so I have to create the java version of my user-types, I compile this classes into a jar file and I send that in to the class path when the server starts:

What happen if I want to add a new custom type while the serer is still running ? Do I just have to replace the jar file ? is this going to be reflected on the server since it is already running.
If I have to stop the server then what should I take in to account to avoid data losing ?

Yes, using all the default out of the box Coherence POF support, you would need to restart the cluster to pick up any changes.
Do you really need the Java classes on the server side? Depending on what server side functionality you are using you might not actually need Java representations of the .Net classes. For example, if these are you entities that are being cached and you are never calling code that deserialises them, then there is no need for Java classes.
You could potentially write your own implementation of a POF Serializer (PofContext) that is used on the server side that can dynamically add and change classes.

I tried troubleshooting when I saw the another post and created with a new customer profile class, but still getting an error, though I created another profile like below and attached this to another existing customer it worked, but when I tried creating a new customer it is still giving me the error. I am Using Oracle Applications R12.1.1
Steps I followed in Creating a New customer Profile
==== Make sure the new Customer Profile class which you will create is in active state. Cross check below steps while defining a customer Profile class.. e.g. Name : DEFAULT (and it's active)

Step-2_ a) Open a customer ..*go to Bill to site details* --> Click on Profile Tab --> Under Profile Class field please include new profile class which is created by you (e.g DEFAULT) . b) Go to Profile Amounts Tab --> Click(Show) on Currency USD --> Verify the set up here as well I could see this.
When I tried creating an new Customer using the new profile, it's repeating the same error. Please help.

You get this error when profile class amounts are not set for all the currency. Go back to your profile and ensure that the profile amounts are set for all the currencies found, whether you are using it or not.

Hello! How do I set a customer's 'Customer Type' when they submit a form? In other words, I have a form on my website and if a user completes and submits that form, I would like that user to be given a specific Customer Type.

Premiere Elements 11 trial version for macMac computer photos uploaded to the timeline just finetrying to make a new title, streaming or in a framedouble clicked on the text in the box and nothing shows up when I type on my keyboard. I can delete the words that are there but not type in new ones. I selected the type and size, etc.

Forgive the questions if you have been there and done that, but I do not want to take anything for granted that might hinder a speedy resolution to your issue. Are you opening an already created title that is sitting on the Timeline in order to edit it in the Titler or are you trying to create a new Title (Default Text or other)? How to add default values when adding custom component to design view?

I have a set of custom components (usually) extending Spark components. But when adding our custom component onto design view, how can I define defult values (in AS3).
For example, s:Button has default label = 'Button' when added to application, or mx:DataGrid has 3 columns predefined, but when using custom components there are no predefined values like this.
I can put this values in constructor, but they are not visible in design time, only runtime.
Any ideas? Thanks

In design.xml having

Issue Resolved. For less than 50 records, client side filtering takes over. In that case the search help exit will not come into picture. Issue resolved by avoiding client side rendering.

How to use resStr() to set name of custom Type

OK say I create a copy of Action step type (from NI_Types.ini) and rename it Mycustomstep and put this in my own Type Palette, "MyCustTypes", folder(MyCustTypes.ini). The Step Type context menu shows "MyCustTypes | Action" instead of "MyCustTypes | Mycustomstep" nomenclature. When you look in Step Type Menu Editor everything looks the way I expect, MyCustType | Mycustomstep...
Thus to update the custom type with my own name I see the resStr() needs to be changed in my custom type properties. Not sure where to navigate to find the nomenclature using the Expression Browser for Default Step Name Expression, property menu. Since the ini is binary I can't read the ini directly...

Hello richjoh!
There are a couple places to "rename" your custom step type, and they
all affect different areas. To get a meaningful name in the .ini file,
you actually have to right click on the custom type and rename it. To
customize the name of the type as it appears in the insertion palette,
you must right click the custom step type, go to properties, and then
to Menu tab. Here, you can set the name of the step as it will appear
in the insertion palette (Item Name Expression) and select or create
which folder it will reside in (Group). Finally, if you change the
"Default Step Name Expression" on the General tab, you will be changing
the name of the step as it appears when you place the step into your
sequence.
For all of these entry fields, you can simply put a literal string.
You do not need to use the resStr() function. However, if you would
like to, you can find where these strings returned from the resStr()
function are defined in the
<teststand>/components/NI/language/english directory, and add
your own entries.

When I add a material only Purchase Type = "Reservation for network" is possible. On solution can be fill out the fields Account Assignment Category and Consumption Posting, but I don't know what fields in the table BAPI_NETWORK_COMP_ADD (I_COMPONENTS_ADD) I must to use.

Changing animation frame rate when rendering in photoshop does not change the length of the video?

I made a walk cycle animation in Photoshop CS6 and want to render it into a quicktime format. I'd like it to be 12 fps, but when I rendered it at 12 fps the video seemed to be missing frames, and the video was 3 seconds long. I have 98 frames to my animation; doing the math, at 12 fps it should be 8 seconds long. Not 3.
I was confused and for curiosity's sake I rendered the video at 6 fps, trying to really slow it down. The video ended up being STILL 3 seconds long and only maybe 20 frames. I was missing literally 70 frames. I'm so upset with this rendering thing, I could chuck my computer at the wall.
Does anybody know of a solution to this?
edit: If it means anything, I've tried rendering it straight from the frame view and the timeline view. Each time I render it I have the timeline frame rate match the rendering frame rate as well.

Changing the frame rate should not change the length of a video timeline. It should just change the number of frames that are rendered. To change the length of a video you need to change the length of the video timeline. If you increase the length of the timeline and there is audio I'm quite sure there will be a problem with it, The Video part will most likely be better then the sound. The required number of extra frames can be generated however the video may look like slow motion. If you decrease the length the motion will speed up. The length of a video is normally done be editing video clips which are trimmed and stitched together to get the desired duration. Not normally done by altering the duration of a clip.
The duration a of Frame animation is the sum of the times each frame is displayed. In a frame animation the length of time a frame is displayed can be varied it not a normal motion picture video. To have a smooth frame animation you need a sufficient number of frames that are different from each other to show smooth motion. You can use Photoshop Frame animation tween feature to have Photoshop manufacture frames to help with a smoothing the animation. Once you have a frame animation the length with the motion you want you can have Photoshop convert it to a video timeline and render a normal motion picture video. It will not have audio but you can add audio to it.

How to add support for new file type.

Using the ESDK, I would like to add support for new file type ( a new extension). this new extension will function like any other non visual code editor but will have specific syntax highlighting, code folding and explorer.
I am trying ot figure out if I need to create a new editor or use existing JDeveloper code editor and add support for new file type. Does anyone have a high level outline on how to do this using the ESDK that is specifically targeted at adding new file type support for a text based code editor?
I have looked at the Samples and keep going in multipe directions. It would be cool if there was an example that was how add syntax higlighting for new file type.

Brian, thank you. I looked at this extension and it answered a lot of questions for me. I was going in the right direction but needed a little help and bost of confidence, this is just what I needed. I created the LanguageSupport, LanguageModel, Addin, Node and TextDocument that are specific to the new file type. I was getting hung up on how to hook this into the JDevelpoer editor. I keep thinking I have to create a custom editor but it looks like I don't have to and it looks like I can associate this file support with the editor framwork, for version 10.1.3.2, with the following in the Addin Initilize() method.

Procedure for custom type

I found from the replies by Jerry(PM) about the example procedure for custom type in the url

Basically i am trying to create a custom type image with border, height and width resized than the one loaded into the portal. so after creating the attributes, what all should i pass as parameters to the pl/sql procedure? i saw in one example item_id and i don't know what that is and how it should be passed.?

You are passing p_itemid as a parameter for attribute itemid. i assume it is a number. but my question is what is being passed in that. if we have a attribute as itemid, then the user using that custom item type, has to type in something right. what will they type in the itemid. why do we need itemid?
I am trying to create a custom item type for image with width and height. so i can have those two attributes created and then added to the custom item type called cust_image and then in the procedure, i can call a procedure and pass only width and height right. do i have to pass itemid too?my question is in that case what will be there in itemid and why is it being passed?

List definition custom type ID or SharePoint base type ID ?

I have successfully created list definitions using a custom type value in the elements.xml as well as by leaving the type value at the Visual Studio default of 101 (for a custom document library).
Leaving the type value as 101 seems to work as long as the definition is in a feature on its own (so that the type is unique within that feature).
I have found articles that suggest that all list definitions should be given a unique type value (conventionally above 10000) and other articles that seem to suggest using the SharePoint built-in list types is valid.
Is the choice of type based upon whether I need to be able to differentiate my lists in the future or are there other technical reasons for preferring one method over the other ?
Thank you in advance for your advice as I hope it will prevent me choosing a wrong strategy (or picking up bad habits).

3. Create list definition declaratively, each in their own feature. (Since I wanted to be able to deploy views as well as allowing users to select lists of my custom 'type' to create adhoc, I thought I needed to create list definitions.)
Note : This is the bit my question was referring to and currently I am using type id 101 instead of the custom type 100042 as I wanted them to be detected as document libraries by various third party
products.

The whole point of trying to create list definitions was that this seemed to be the only way for me to provide customized views for users at list creation time. If it wasn't for that then I think I could have created all of
these elements programmatically instead.
(I could not figure out how to create a list definition programmatically).
Please let me know what I should or shouldn't be doing in this deployment chain.

IMovie audio issues. Fine in timeline, but when rendering to iTunes or Media Browser, audio from certain portions of movie files are heard in places where it shouldn't be !

iMovie 11 audio issues. Fine in timeline, but when rendering to iTunes or Media Browser, audio from certain portions of movie files are heard in places where it shouldn't be !
I have created a project where I have a montage of photos and video clips edited together with music under. Some audio portions of the video files are being muted in some areas and those portions are being heard in another part of the project. This is not for all video clips only certain ones.
The project plays fine in the timeline, but when I render the project thru iTunes or Media Browser, this is when the project goes corrupt.
I tried detaching the Audio from the video clips and this somewhat worked, but the original problem still exists with certain audio still being heard where it's not supposed to be.

I have a fix - or rather, a workaround.
WARNING: It is lengthy, but still far better than starting a new project from scratch.
I had this same issue and none of my transitions/clips were at custom speeds, nor did I have anything else weird going on. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do within iMovie to fix this, at least there wasn't for me. iMovie is BY FAR the buggiest software I have ever used and if you haven't already spent hours slaving away on a project, you are so much better off using just about anything else to edit your video.
...But let's assume you have already spent many hours working on your project and you don't want to start all over. Well then, you have at least one option.
It's a pain in the neck, but it's infinitely better than restarting your project from scratch.
This will require:
A software called Soundflower (which is free) and some kind of audio editing software (I use Logic, but really any should work).
1.) You're going to need to export your video with the messed up audio. Typically if you're audio is messing up, you're video is at least usually working just fine (at least it always does for me).
2.) You're going to need to open that video in your audio software and import only the audio. If your software doesn't give you this option, then you're going to need to record the audio from your video using the audio software and Soundflower. You can find tutorials on how to do this, but it's honestly pretty straightforward once you start playing around with you Mac's audio I/O settings. Remember to have your computer's volume all the way up when doing this.
3.) Watch/listen to your video and make notes of where the audio errors occur. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND writing down times too, as they will be extremely helpful later.
4.) Now were going to rip some working audio from the iMovie project itself. Go back into your iMovie project and only play back audio while in the edit window for this step. Do NOT play your project back in full screen.
This part is key: if you try to play back your project from the beginning the audio will usually still mess up. So, what you're gonna have to do is go back on your edit window timeline right before these errors occur and play that specific clip back while recording this working audio with Soundflower and your audio software. Essentially we're only recording the parts of the audio where these errors occur, so try to do this in order if you can. Try to leave several seconds of audio in before the error - that way we can use it as reference when we construct our new audio track.
5.) Now in your audio software you should have your original error-filled audio track and the new clips that we just captured. This part can be painstaking if you're not familiar with audio editing softwares, but as you'll learn, it's really not that hard.
You're going to look at your original audio track and compare it to your new working audio clips. You should be able to notice where those new clips are supposed to go by looking at the identical (or close to identical) waveform shapes in your original audio track. The two should correspond with one another. If you don't understand what I mean right now, you will when you start playing around with the audio. This is why marking times is very important.
Take your new clips and split them up if you haven't already, that way you can drag them around and edit them separately from one another. Essentially your going to line these new clips up with original and then replace the original parts with new ones.
We need to get this as precise as possible, so start off by getting them as close as you can with your naked eye, and then use a zoom tool to zoom in as much as possible so that you can get them lined up PERFECTLY, or at least extremely close. In some softwares you can just drag these new clips on top of the old track, but most of the time you will need to actually cut out the old piece and replace it with the new one. In doing this, zoom in and make sure that you are NOT cutting out a bigger space than your new clip will fill - otherwise you will have small gaps in your audio.
VERY IMPORTANT: Also make sure that this new audio track starts at the EXACT SAME time as your original - otherwise your new audio will be out of sync.
I know this part can really suck if you're not used to audio editing, but at this point, there is little other choice.
6.) Once you are done with this, export your newly pieced together audio track.
7.) Now open iMovie and create a NEW project. Re-import the video that you exported earlier that has the messed up audio. This might take a while, so just be patient.
8.) Then right click the clip and select "Detach Audio". This will do just that - allowing you to edit the audio separately from the video. Now delete this audio.
9.) Now, import the new, perfect audio track that we just made and make sure that it starts at the start of the project. Make sure it's in sync and that everything works.
Now just export your new video with the working audio and you should be done. Since we have given iMovie the audio with no editing actually being done in iMovie, it does not have to generate its own audio now and you should have absolutely no errors now - unless there is some that you forgot to take out earlier.
YOU'RE FINALLY DONE!!!
I know this entire process *****, but if you're that far into your project, there is little else that you can do. Now you've learned your lesson:
DON'T USE IMOVIE EVER AGAIN.
