  • Adobe Form called from SAP Portal, not executing interface global init code

    Hello!
I have an adobe form called from both R/3 and SAP Portal and I need to show long text dinamically calculated.
The deal is at the SAP Portal execution, as scenario characteristics don't allow string definitions, I'm using 255 characters tables (QISR_TAB_TYPE), that I'm trying to convert inside form interface (Global init code).
The problem is that the interface global init code is being executed when the form is called from R/3, but it is not at SAP Portal.
Does anybody know how to manage this? It's kind of a problem that the BAdi method int_service_request_init doesn't allow types over 255 characters... and if it is not possible to access the form interface code section (maybe there's any way)... i need to find some code section where i can convert tables before the form context is filled!!
    Thanks a lot!!
    Regards,
    Diana.

  • Problem with page preview : transodification of  ':' and '/'

    Hello
we got a problem with page and iview preview on production system (7.01).
The preview fail with a simple message "Erreur d'exécution portail / Exception lors du traitement de la requête, envoyez l'ID de l'exception à votre administrateur du portail" ("Portal execution error / exception during request treatment, send exception Id to your portal administrator").
The user possess full admin role, as weel as autorisations onto the page. He can use the page when it's in the menu, but visualizing the page via preview fail.
after comparing the preview URL from production system against the preview URL from development, we spotted a difference :
on the dev portal, the URL is
    http://portal:port/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtmode/preview/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.company.directory.SpecificApp!2fcom.company.directory.LeaveRequest!2fcom.company.directory.Employee!2fcom.company.page.MyRequests?sap-config-mode=true
on the production portal, the preview URL is
    https://portal/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtmode/preview/prtroot/pcd!253aportal_content!252fcom.company.directory.SpecificApp$!252fcom.company.directory.LeaveRequest!252fcom.company.directory.Employee!252fcom.company.page.MyRequests?sap-config-mode=true
As you can see, the ":" are transcoded into !3a on dev, and !253a on prod (and the "/" are respectively transcoded into !2f and !252f)
the other difference is the use of an alias (http://portalprod/irj against http://portal:port/irj), and the use of a secured connexion (https).
does someone know where this problem could come from ?
    regards,
    Guillaume

    Hi Guillaume,
Could it be possible that there would be a SAP Web Dispatcher on the Production Portal and not on the dev portal.
You should use a tool like HTTPWATCH to see if you get HTTP redirects.

  • Start Tx Iview from URL works only in current IE Window.

    Hello,
We would like to send an URL via e-mail to link directly the user to a given SAP transaction (IW33), prefilled with the work order number.
The users are always logged on and authentified against the SAP Portal.

  • Order of execution of JPDK Portlets inside the same Portal Page

We have 2 Sample JPDK Portlets from the same provider on our page
    - A LoginPortlet that accepts the username and Password
    - A Welcome Bin Portlet that shows the logged in user's details
Once the user enters username and password in the LoginPortlet, we authenticate the user and set his username and other details in the 'ProviderSession'.
Further, in the Welcome Bin Portlet, we access the username and other details of the user from the 'ProviderSession' and display.
Though this solution seems to be working most of the time, we have an issue at times when the Welcome Bin Portlet executes before the LoginPortlet and hence is unable to fetch the userName and other details which are not yet set in the 'ProviderSession'. Hence, wanted to know if there is an execution order that we can enforce on the Portlets in a Portal Page, so that we can mandate that LoginPortlet Rendering shall happen before WelcomeBinPortlet Rendering.
Further, had it been a JSR168 Portlet, I understand that we could set the details over to the 'ProviderSession' in the 'ProcessAction' method of the LoginPortlet, which for sure gets executed before the Rendering of all the portlets. Is there a similar way or a hack while using JPDK?

The Private Event Submission sample portlet shows how to achieve this. It is part of the PDK download.

  • Execution order of objects into a Portal page

    Hi, to all.
I have a portal page (Oracle Portal 10.1.4) with many Areas (Items and Portlets). Every area contains one or more components (java portlet, plsql portlet,
dynamic page, plsql item, html portlet and so on). Let say 5 areas and 10 objects.
What is the order of executions of the objects ?
Who is the first object executed?
Portal executed all the objects in the first area and then started with the second area?
Which is the first area? these at the top-left corner of the page?
    Thank.

8.3.1 Managed Portlet Execution per Page
The PPE(Paralel Page Engine) uses the concept of fetcher threads. These are threads within the PPE servlet which are used to service requests for portlet content. By default there are 25 fetcher threads within the PPE waiting to service requests. If a page has 26 portlets and that page is requested then 25 of the portlets will be requested in parallel and the 26th request will wait for the next available fetcher thread.
This serialization effect will ultimately slow down the portal performance as more requests are received. This degradation will affect the whole portal site, to combat this at a more granular page level OracleAS Portal introduces a feature called Managed Portlet Execution (MPE).
This feature provides a throttle effect similar to fetcher threads but on a per-page basis. If a page has 25 portlets 20 will run the other 5 will wait for free slots then they will run, in effect they'll be throttled.
MPE is set to 20 by default, but this is a configurable parameter allowing administrators to ensure that the performance of the whole site is not degraded by over-zealous page designers putting excessive quantities of portlets on one page.

And parallel means like "all at the sime time" isn't it?

  • In Decision task, Method defined after execution is not called from Portal

    Dear All,
In one of my scenarios, I am using a decision task for approval.
In that after the approval action is taken i am calling a BAPI to update business function.
I have called this BAPI in the Methods ( After Workitem Execution ) .
When I execute this task from the SAP Inbox ,  the method is getting called successfully and the BAPI is also executed successfully. But when I approve the task from portal this method is not getting called at all, and BAPI also fails.
Actually in the workitem display , I am using the standard FM SWU2_INPLACE_DECISION_PROCESS, will it have any impact when its used from Portal ?
Is there any common place that will be called from both SAP Inbox and Portal after the task execution , so that based on the decision taken , I can process the action at the same place.
    Advance thanks for your response.
    regards,
    Sabari Prabhu.

    Hello,
Unfortunately, that I know, there is no way to call your BAPI if you're using the standard decision JavaWD. In fact all that WD does is calling a WAPI to read the decision alternatives and then once the user has taken his decision it calls another WAPI to feedback the decision into the backend.
The blog mentionned by Pavan concerns only the secondary methods with amodal call, this is different from the before and after methods which are not supported and cannot help you for calling your BAPI. The so-called "Program exits" are not supported either.
The only alternatives I can see for you are:
    - Develop your own decision screen specific for your workflow and integrate there your BAPI call. This would also give you more flexibility to show your agents the information they need to take their decision. This is the way I usually go for now.
    - Change your UWL settings so that decisions are processed in a GUI screen instead of the JAVA WD screen. The main disadvantage is that you can do this either for all decision or for none of them. You can't just set that up for the decision in your specific workflow (or at least I haven't found how to do it).
To change the way decisons are processed in UWL you must first change the parameter "List of preview sections to hide" in your UWL iView to add value USERDECISION.
Then you must create a custom XML config file (or modify an existing one) in which you must customize each decision task used in your company individualy. To do that just take a standard config file and find the Item type entry for a standard decision task as an example. All you have to do is to recreate the same entry for each of the decision tasks you actually use and replace the defaultAction="viewDetail" parameter by defaultAction="launchSAPAction".
    Cheers,
    Patrick

  • How to manage Execution of APO-DP planning on portal ?

    Hi all,
See the scenario is like this :-
-There is a planning area, in that planning area there are planning books.
-If I select a particular one it is giving me screen which is proper.
-On that screen I have two drop down selection fields which are the main concern of this issue(take them as group and subgroup).
-So if I do selection from subgroup first it is showing me details of subgroups.
-But after this selection if I go to group selection it is wiping the subgroup selection and only givin info about groups. It is not showing hierarchy as Group->Subgroup-> Data.
-I want the above execution (<u><b>Group->Subgroup->Data</b></u>)after going 1st to subgroup and then to group will this is possible???
Its urgent If anyone has idea about how to manage the execution of DP planning books please revert back.
note- it is working properly on backend but it is showing this problem on portal screen.
Should I go for new transaction iview for that???
    Regards,
    Aditya

    Dear Vijay,
I doubt if there is any standard settings or configuration is there for this functionality. What i can suggest is either you add seperate key-figures for displaying total of all the periods and write macros to populate key-figure values in it. The second option is initiallize the key-figures for an extra bucket which is really required by the business and populate the total in that extra period by writing macro. By second method there will not be extra key figure required. Apart from writing macros you can use BAPIs for reading the key-figure and adding it and finally populating the key figure values in the key-figure but this is not required as macro is sufficient for populating the key-figure in both the cases.
Please let me know if you think any other better way of doing it.

  • Adhoc Query Execution / Portal Authentication

    Hi there,
When executing an adhoc query via the query designer I am asked to authenticate via the portal before the query is executed.
Is this the way it should work in netweaver 2004s ?  Or do we have a communication problem between portal & BW?
My portal consultant wasnt really able to give me any ideas.
    thanks

    Hi,
You have any Idea on the User Administration mapping done in the Portal Iview?
I guess the Single Sign On done is not proper (SSO).You can achive this in the User Administration Properties of the System Created in Portal for BW. Portal Consultant will be the best person who can solve this.Else you can get the help of Basis who takes care the SSO.

  • Execution of BW Reports Through Enterprise Portal

    Hello Everybody,
Our BW system is version 3.5 based on WEBAS kernel 6.40 and our Enterprise Portal system is based on standalone J2EE Engine 6.40 with the version being EP 6.0 . I want that the BW reports to be executed through Enterprise Portal. Is this possible in our scenario bcoz our EP system is standalone Java based and no ABAP instance.
When i went through the installation guide, it says to set up a BW system in EP and define its WEBAS parameters.I have defined the WEBAS parameters and checked then for consistency but the connection test for WEBAS fails.
Follwing Result is displayed after testing the connection :
SAP Web AS Connection - Jan 1, 1970 11:38:11 AM
      Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Check that the system object defines an SAP system
    2. Validate the following parameters: wap.WAS.protocol; wap.WAS.hostname
    3. Check the HTTP/S connection to the defined backend application
      Results
    1. The system object represents an SAP system.
    2. The following parameters are valid: wap.WAS.protocol (http) ; wap.WAS.hostname (bwtest:8000)
    3. HTTP/S connection failed. Make sure the protocol, host name, and user mapping are correctly defined
Kindly please help what aliases should be set here,wt else should be done to solve this problem.Iam facing this problem since many days, your help would be a gr8 support.
    Thanks,
    Somya

    Hi Somya
u should enter follwoing in profile parameter
icm/host_name_full -> bwtest.dscl.com  now if ur os is
win2000/2003 server on the bw host make a entry for this in the host file
    c:\winnt(or windows)\system32\drivers\etc
edit the host file with notepad and make the following entry
    ip of bwhost<tab>bwtest<tab>bwtest.dscl.com
this is necessary, now also make this entry in host file where u can run the portal from client and as well as portal server
now check following entry in the portal server for the bw system
    <b>Connector</b>
Application Host ->bwtest.dscl.com or ip address of bw host
SAP Client-> client number for bw
SAP System Number-> bw system number
    Server Port -> 32<system number of bw system> i.e 3200
    System Type -> SAP_BW
    <b>Web Application Server(WAS)</b>
    WAS Host Name ---> <b>bwtest.dscl.com :port number</b>
    above is must (FQDN)
(u can get this port number by smicm->goto->services
check the port for http service)
    WAS Path ---> /sap/bw/bex
    WAS Protocol ---> http
after make this setting u have to map the portal user with bw system user
if u want to test this connection u have to map the portal administrator user with bw user having sufficient authorization
if u have any doubt revert me back
