Posting in Local ledger on different G/L accounts

I have set up the following depreciation area in OADB
1 US GAAP                                                                          real   G/L 1 ledger 0L     
2 LC Statutory GAAP                                                     real  G/L 3 ledger L1
3 Difference  US GAAP u2013 LC Statutory GAAP (01-02)             G/L 6  ledger L1
Area 3  is defined as Derived Depreciation Area As Real Area
Area 2 post only depreciation
With this setting it is possible to assign different G/L accounts for aquasition in AREA 2.  But during the posting the system don't look to it  and is using the g/l accounts from area 1
I have seen in other message that this is the correct setting to avoid forget dubble postings in the local Ledger
Is it possible and how is to set-up to use different G/L accounts for US and Local GAAP

Hi Paul, I had exactly the same problem and have the same setting and I even posted a message here, but nobody replied.
I couldn't find any solution to this, it looks like for the Ledger Approach will always use the same GL Accounts.
I just designed a workaround with the users, where basically after any acquisition that should use different GL Accounts (certain Assets Classes), we wipe out Area 2 (in your case) with a special transaction type that hits only that Area, then we create a new Assets in the rigth Asset Class and put the values back in Area 2, with another special transaction type.
I'll follow up this thread in case someone finds a solution.

    We have one Parallel Leder with fiscal year variant K4 and our Leading Leger is with V3. While carrying out AFAB for period 2 fiscal year 2010 (May 2009)(depreciation run), system gives error saying that 'Posting period 005/2009 is not open'.  Period 005/2009 is on the basis of K4, which cannot be opened as data migration is over.
    Request for  cause of the error message.

    Hi,
    Fiscal year Variants are different in the Leading and Non leading Ledger.  One V3 and the other K4.
    The error message comes only at the time of depreciation run.  In other postings, there are no errors.

  • Parallel ledger - posting in one ledger only - Open Item managed account

    Hello all,
    We have a requirement which necessitates posting some entries in one ledger only for the purpose of complying with more than one GAAP. (US GAAP and local GAAP).  However we understand that such postings cannot be made to GL accounts which are open item managed.
    Is there any workaround for this?  How do we get around this?

    Hi Sukumar,
    According to my understanding, directly postings to GLs is possible in case of 'Open Items Managed' GLs. To ensure parallel accounting with different GAAPs, you must have defined Leading & Non-leading Ledgers. You can pass entries directly to Non-Leading Ledgers to ensure compliance with the relevant A/cing stds.

  • Post freight cost to a different a GL account during 411-K for consignment PO Process

    We are planning to implement PO consignment for one of the client.
    The scenario is, client pays the freight cost to the supplier in advance upon receipt of consignment stock .When consignment stock is moved to own stock (411k), during the movement of the stock we need to create two accounting entries one for the material cost and the other for freight cost such that the freight can be adjusted with advance paid freight cost. Freight cost can be settled manually with another PO but the requirement is moving average price of the material should include the  cost of material  and freight cost .
    For an example if the material cost is $100(PB00) and freight cost is $10(FAR1 - 10%), during 411k it  should create  two entries one for material cost($100) and the other for freight cost($10) which can be adjusted manually.
    We tried by adding freight condition (FRA1) in consignment info record along with PB00 –Gross price and in this case during 411k it is summing both the prices($110) and posting to one GL account and the same settles during MRKO  but what we are looking for is how we can split this into $100 and $10 .
    I know standard SAP does not support this this during 411k.
    I want to know if there is any User exit, pricing procedure, routines, etc...  Or any other way that can be used to achieve this requirement. Appreciate more detailed answer

       As you know, currently the delivery cost are not supported in consignment and pipeline settlement. The system design is explained in the note: 208555 - MB11 Delivery costs for pipeline and consignment.
       If you want delivery cost in consignment, you have to go for development. There should be additional entry for delivery costs in RKWA table. I am not sure about the feasibility, but still would like to share the below points:
       For creating additional entry in the accounting document while doing MB1B / MB11, you may check the BADI AC_DOCUMENT.
       You may refer the note: 165647 - Documentation: Enhancement RMVKON00 (MM-IV) which explains some enhancements related to consignment settlement.

    In new G/L ledger we want to use for a Local ledger a different Exchange Rate Type then the standard M.  This is for local reporting to the goverment
    Is this possible and yes where I can make this setting?

    In T.Code: OB22 you can maintain another parallel currency say HARD Currency (40), and make this as identical to your local reporting currency... for this new currency you can maintain a different Exchange Rate Type

    Shipment cost document posting should happen to two different G/L Accounts based on Division of the Material.If suppose there are two divisions 10 & 20.While posting happening in shipment cost document the material belongs to 10 Division must post to one G/L Account and material belongs to 20 Division should post to another G/L Account.

    Thanks for your reply, We are working on the STO scenario and the client requirement is if the material is in 10 Division it should post to one G/L account and if the division is 20 it should post to another G/L account in shipment cost document.
    Normally postings in shipment cost document postings will occur mainly by the Item category and Valuation class based on the shipment cost document type.In standard we can do this by providing two shipment cost document type and two valuation classes and two item categories.
    I want to know whether it is possible with a single shipment cost document type.

    i have a plant A which has materials of supplies type and plant B having materials of parts type.Both the plants are having same valuation group code whereby during inventory posting both the plants will hit the same G/L accounts.Now i am moving the data from plant A to B whereby during inventory posting i need to hit different G/L accounts for both the materials..Can we achieve that??

    Valuation Grouping Code is same for both plants means valuation is done at company code level . In this case only one G/L account is defined per valuation class .Hence it is not possible to define different G/L accounts in this case

    can you clarify what you are expecting by way of Group Ledger and secondary local ledger with an example.
    TBB1 will be supported for posting at two level @ Customer Level and GL Level. This can be performed for multiple valuation area if required.

    In our project we are facing to a big issue with different currencies in the PO conditions.
    An example of the situation in the PO is the following (but should be different currencies, not always the same currency for the same condition):
        - the condition for price is in GBP
        - the condition for transport is in USD
        - the condition for "custom" is in EUR
    For each condition, we have a different vendor. We work in France, so we have also the PAM activated.
    Our requirement:
        - we need to keep the original amount in currency for the GR (so in this case to have 3 postings due to the currency in the header of FI posting) because due to the big amount of currencies in the company, we need to follow exchange rate at the end of the month
        - we need to enter the invoice in the currency of the condition
    Today when we have a GR, the system, even if we have 3 vendors, create only one global posting by translating the different condition to the PO currency (here in GBP). In fact, when the PO is created, the condition is immediatly converted.
    Does anyone have a solution to do that ? Apparently in IS-OIL solution, this kind of posting is possible. But no information is available in OSS about this point.

  • Double Posting in Parallel Ledger

    Hello Gurus
    We have Non-US company codes and have various depreciation areas assigned to it. Area 01 is main assigned to leading ledger 0L and area 30 is USGAAP assigned to L1 ( parallel Ledger). Area 01 Post real time and Area 30 is "Area post APC Directly and Depreciation.
    Everything was working fine. Area 01 and L1 were getting correct postings. Recently due to client requirement for treatment of their Composite assets, we make certain adjustments in area 30 and area 01 differently. Like area 01 does not get any posting and area 30 get some adjustment posting and we do through Z transaction types. To achieve this we had to run periodic posting and thus assigned ZA document type to company codes of Mexico.
    With this what is now happening is
    When we post 10000 MXN to asset, Area 01 gets 10000 but area 30 which is L1 gets 20000.
    To resolve this issue we tried various options like, If we
    Assign Area post depreciation only to area 30 then it works fine but then our treatment of composite does not work
    If we assign area post APC and depreciation on periodic basis, then it again doubles but doubles when we run ASKBN.
    Please advise. It is real serious issue here.

    now I am astonished. Ok, I do not know your Support tickets, and I don´t know which bad OSS notes you mean. But your statement that you always get double postings is not correct if you follow the guideline how to set up your scenario with 2 different ledger (groups).
    The documentation can be found in the SAP Help Portal here: Parallel Accounting in Asset Accounting  .
    There you find the link to the chapter "Parallel Ledgers in Asset Accounting", which contains detailed information and configuration steps to fulfill this requirement.
    If you want to post 2 areas to G/L to different ledger groups, then the official SAP proposal is to use the so called "Ledger Scenario". In that scenario your alternative valuation does only post depreciation to G/L, so that you do not get double postings. If you have valuation differences, which appear automatically through different APC amounts or different value adjustments at retirement, then a derived depreciation area will post these differences ledger specific to your alternative valuation.
    I admit that this scenario is not the most convenient, but it will provide the full functionality of parallel valuation at ledger (group) level.
    The only real big limitation existing is that you can not really use different fiscal year variants within the valuation areas. But the basic requirement under which this thread was opened should work without problems.

    vendor reconcillation account is not connected to gr/ir account. gr/ir account comes from obyc WRX . so check what is account maintained in wrx in obyc. also check whether it was changed after gr was done.

  • Error in posting to a ledger using sapfgubt

    Hi experts,
    May I ask your help regarding the dump error I get when posting to a ledger using the sap standard program sapfgubt. Below is my code.
    loop at itab.
    move correspoding fields of itab to sidata.
    perform e10_ext_table(sapfgubt) using ' ' ' ' 'X' sidata.
    endloop.
    perform f80_set_end_docnr(sapfgubt).
    perform f40_update(sapfgubt) using 'X' ' '.
    commit work.
    The error happens inside the "commit work" statement. It calls another sap standard program SAPLGLIU. The error specifically happens under the include program "LGLIUF11" when it inserts the entries into the ledger.
    The error says runtime errors: "SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC" and Except.: "CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB".
    It is saying that the record already exists with the same key even if it doesn't exist in the ledger yet.
    I was able to find a partial solution by adding a number per document line. Now it posts to the ledger successfully but there are times also that it fails to post and the program still dumps.
    Is there an OSS for this? do I need to add something.
    Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

    I have a problem, and I hope someone will help me.
    Is there any way to make posting in local currency on account with foreign currency as the account currency?
    The reason why I'm asking this, is that I have to make corrections to currency valuation.
    This is the situation: they made foreign currency valuation for last period of previous fiscal year. Instead without reversing, they made it with reversing, on the first day of 1. period in the new fiscal year. After this, they made reversing (fb08) of reversing document created by valuation program. Of course, after all, they have wrong valuation for every next period.
    I have to make corrections in 3. period (1. and 2. are closed).
    This is my idea: I want to make valuation for date 31.12.2006. with postings in 3. period, without reversing, and than, to make posting of valuated amount, but with opposite sign mark (if the valuation was 1000EUR debit, I'll make 1000EUR credit). I want to have effect of reversing, without running fb08.
    Balance for the 3. period will be 0, but every next valuation will be ok (it will valuate difference for 31.12.2006., not difference for document posting date).
    If anybody have idea how to make posting on foreign currency account, or the other way to make correction of valuation, I'll be grateful.

    Create one FI documents with multiple line items as per the following example. In this case you need to enter amount in both local currency and in document currency fields-
    If you want to post credit of USD 5.00
    Line 1: Local currency  Dr. USD 5; Doc currency =x
    Line 2: Local currency  Cr. USD 10; Doc currency =x
    Net impact in local currency is Cr USD 5 and doc currency is nil.

  • Post unplanned delivery cost to different freight G/L Accounts

    Hi,
    Regarding the freight costs the business process is at  the time Purchase Order creation, the company does not know what is the freight costs that is going to be charged by the vendor. The freight charges will be known when the vendor sends the Invoice. The purchase order contains the materials to be drop shipped by vendor directly to customer or cross dock delivery to company premises.
    The business requirement is when the MIRO invoice is posted, user will enter the freight charges at the document header level and that value needs to be split among the PO Line items and needs to be posted to separate Freight Cost G/L Accounts based on the account assignment category. For drop ship items the freight cost to be posted to one G/L Account and for cross dock items it needs to be posted to a different G/L Account. Later on this freight cost to be applied to customer invoice for charging the customer with the vendor freight cost.
    The solution option we have considered is to define two statistical freight condition types at PO Level (one to be triggered for Drop ship materials and the other to be for Cross dock items), in the pricing procedure assign two different Account keys to these condition types. At MIRO users enters the freight cost as unplanned delivery cost, write the code in a user exit to split this value among the freight line items of the MIRO invoice. As separate Account keys are assigned to the condition types the values can be posted to separate G/Ls. To bring these values to customer invoice we will develop a custom routine in SD pricing procedure.
    Request the experts to let me know if there is any simple way to map this requirement.

    As at the time of the PO you do not know the freight costs and you want to post the freight costs in the MIRO as unplanned delivery costs . and there is no way you have to post as unplanned .
    Here your requirements are 1. Post to separate GL accounts and 2. distribution among line items .
    However both of your requirements are given with sap standard functionality with the below sap  link .
    Logistics Invoice Verification (MM-IV-LIV) - SAP Library
    check spro--mm--liv--incoming invoice ---configure how unplanned delivery costs are treated .
    at the same time when you maintain the condition type for frieght iN PO , they will become the planned delivery costs . if this come in to picture FR/IR account will come into the pictute at GR and IR .
    i think your requirement will be partially met . and the coding part may become fuzzy rather to go with the standard.

    Have you considered defining Wage types for each of these expenses and assigning them to Symbolic expenses. The Symbolic expenses can then be assigned to GL Accounts in PRT3.
    When the users create the expense, they will assign a Wage type to it and it should then determine the account...
