Prepare the Source System question (for Cloning)

Hi,
Could anybody tell me if during the phase:
# Prepare the Source System
Execute the following commands to prepare the source system for cloning.
1. Prepare the source system database tier for cloning
Log on to the source system as the ORACLE user and run the following commands:
cd <RDBMS ORACLE_HOME>/appsutil/scripts/<CONTEXT_NAME>
perl adpreclone.pl dbTier
the middle tier must be DOWN or is not important ? Do we need to be in maintenance mode too ?
Thanks,
Paul

ok, but if I add some space to a file in a tablespace
is not need to run pre-clone, right ? The same thing
if I copied the files in a place (for cloning) before
modifying the physical structure of the DB ... I can
use these files right (all the files was copied) ?- Changing the datafile/tablespace size after running preclone --> In this case you still need to run preclone again before copying files to the target node.
- Copying files before chaning the physical structure (after running preclone) --> In this case you do not have to run preclone again.

  • ADPRECLONE.PL PREPARE THE SOURCE SIDE EFFECT

we want to clone our production server (24/7) server and as far as we know that
when you Prepare the source system tiers for cloning it will chage things on it
like some profile option, workflow ...etc. so since its an prodction system i
would like to know what the perclone change exactly on my prodution system and
what can i do to prevent/recover those changes.

Hi, the first step in the cloning process with rapidclone contemplate run a preclone process in the source server, this process ago the following thing:
1.- Create on $COMMON_TOP, a directory called "clone", with a basic structure of executable, scripts, templates and java files.
2.- Later to the creation of the clone directory, the process picks up important information of your source system with which upgrades the necessary templates for the process adcfgclone that was carried out in in the target server.
The adpreclone process not affect your source system, and your can run this process with the application up and running.

  • Identify the Source System in CRM BADI

    Hi,
I need to write the code in ORDER_SAVE BADI in CRM based on the source system. For example, When i create the quotation in PCUI i need to validate few fields. Suppose i have created quotaton in R/3 and it gets transfer to CRM and i need validate few more fields.
How do i findout in BADI whether the source system is PCUI or R/3? I have checked the SYST table but no difference in both the case. Anyother way to findout this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Bala.c

    Hello Bala,
In the ORDERADM_H structure of the CRM_ORDER_READ or in the CRMD_ORDERADM_H table you find a field called LOGICAL_SYSTEM. In that field the RFC destination of the source system (source system = where the order/transaction was created) will be stored.
For PCUI this field will have the RFC destination of the CRM server itself.
For R/3 it will have the RFC destination of the R/3 system.
    Hope this helps,
    Reward points if useful!

  • Question about source system copy for BW

    Dear all,
I have a quick question about copying a source system for BW.
We have two clients in the source ERP:
    100 Customizing
    200 Testing
Our BW is only linked to client 200, so when we now delete client 200 and make a copy from 100 to 200, are we then still able to restore the source system connection so that our extraction will work, or will it fail, as in client 100 I have no BW related (except the cross-client-objects like datasource) information, that can be used for a possible restore of this connection.
What is the procedure in this case?
    Thanks,
    Andreas

Unfortunately, you will lose your source connection and need to create a new one in R/3.  You can use the same source system name in BW, but check the source system connection after the copy (SM59).  Also, I would "Restore" the source system (in BW, right-click on Source system in RSA1, and click "Restore") to insure the datasources get replicated from R/3 to BW.
Depending on how much you want your BW and R/3 systems to be in synch, you will need to rebuild all your data providers (cubes/ODS's) from your R/3 system.  This means deleting all the data and running the initializations from scratch.  At the very least, you will need to rebuild the delta queues.
Curious, if 100 is just for customizing, is there any data in it?  Are you just creating a new blank client 200?

  • How to change the source system for just a datasource

    Hi,
Our test/development BI system ( BI 7.0 Unicode ) is connected to our development system and to our test system, 1 BI system connected to 2 R/3 systems.
During some time, the test system won't be available so all datasources that point to the test system must be connected to the development system. In RSA1 is not possible to change the source system in a datasource: RSDS 057
'Creation of DataSources for SAP source system D30CLNT007 is not permitted' , same error trying to copy the datasource,.
Any idea about how to proceed ?
    Regards,
    Joan

    Hi,
If I try to repliclate metadata in the datasource, message RSAR 051 appears: 'error when opening an RFC connection'. This error is expected because the logical system pointed in the datasource does not exist.
Is not possible to change the source system in datasource ( in RSA1 ) because the field is always greyed, also if I try to copy the datasource the message RSDS 057 appears.
Any idea about how to proceed ?

  • 'Error Occured in the Source System' for Non SAP system

    Hi Gurus,
We have an Info Package which is getting the data from the Source System 'DOCP' and it has failed due to 'Error Occured in the Source System'.Since the source system is Non SAP system there is no option 'Replicate Data Sources'.So,First I activated the transfer rules by the program and ran the package again .But again the same error occured.
Please suggest me how to proceed for this error for Non SAP Systems?

    Hi,
Check the RFC connection in SM59 and reactivate the source system again.

  • No Hierarchies for this InfoSource in the Source System

    Hello All,
I want to find out how to get my hierarchy back in Bex (Query Designer).  We just got a new BW system.  The hierarchy was loading fine in the old system but unable to see it in the new system.  I have done the following and still no luck:
    Replicated the Datasource
    Replicated the Source System
Maintain Hierarchies shows no hierarchies and when I click on create hierarchy (No values when you click on Hierarchy Name).  Whereas I get hierarchy  values in the old system.
In the Infopackage, click on Hierarchy Selection => Available Hierarchies from OLTP, I get "There are no Hierarchies for this InfoSource in the Source System".
Is there anything am missing?  My suspicion is may be the Hierarchies need to be maintained in ECC first and then I should replicate again and then load the hierarchy.
    Any suggestion would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Recca

    Thanks Sai and RDS.
@ Sai:  Yes, the Datasource is present in BW as 3.x version which I assume is ok.  It is also present in active version in ECC in RSA6.  There is nothing to load for the hierarchy because when you click on the InfoPackage the "Hierarchy Selection" and then "Available Hierarchies from OLTP", in other to refresh the list, I get "There are no Hierarchies for this InfoSource in the Source System".
@ RDS:  Yes, the connection of BW to the ECC Source System is good....checked out ok.  There is nothing to load for the hierarchy because when you click on "Hierarchy Selection" and then "Available Hierarchies from OLTP", in other to refresh the list, I get "There are no Hierarchies for this InfoSource in the Source System".
Besides RSA6 to check the datasource in active version in ECC, do you have a T-Code to check where these following Hierarchies are maintained in ECC?  I need to compare it from the old system with the new system.
    1.  Fund
    2.  Fund Center
    3.  Commitment Item

  • Why should the source system config be open for restore?

    Good day everyone,
Every time I do source system restore, I have to open the IMG in the source system. Could someone please explain or provide me with an SAP link that explains the necessity for this step. It is causing me a lot of troubles in production systems.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for your response.
Funny thing though my has not ran that hot.
Wither watching Videos or play a game like Fallout 3 everything on the laptop is always cool to my touch on the top.
Except sometimes by the vent where the fan and exchaust are it maybe lukewarm, I've had other laptops run much hotter.
But Thanks for the input, I think I'll go ahead and turn it back on though.

  • Trans struc is not available for InfoSource ZF_GLER in the source system

    Hello Experts,
    I am facing an issue:
While trying to load data in the data target(ODS) from the data source ZF_GLER i am getting an error message :
Error message from the source system
    Diagnosis
An error occurred in the source system.
    System Response
Caller 09 contains an error message.
    Further analysis:
The error occurred in Service API .
    Refer to the error message.
    Procedure
How you remove the error depends on the error message.
    Note
If the source system is a Client Workstation, then it is possible that the file that you wanted to load was being edited at the time of the data request. Make sure that the file is in the specified directory, that it is not being processed at the moment, and restart the request.
The error message states that:       No transfer structure is available for InfoSource ZF_GLER in the source system
For this I activated the data source in se38> RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL.
After this I tried to load data again I am getting the same error.
    Pls provide me the solution
    Thanks in Advance,
    Amit

    Hi,
This is a Time stamp error
You need to Replicate the respective Data source from the corresponding source system first then Activate the Transfer Rules and load again
If you are in Production system you cannot activate transfer rules directly
Go to SE38 --> run the Program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL --> mention the infosource and click execute. this will activate the transfer rules and try to reload.

  • No code page has been assigned for the language b in the source system

    Hi Gurus,
I have triggered a full infopackage to load data from a non-unicode R/3 system (4.6) to a Unicode SAP BI (7.0) system.
But the load failed with the error " Invalid language "b" for structure alignment of record "3685"
But when i trigger a delta infopackage the IP status ends in green but no data is pulled.
This looks like a typical issue.
Please help me to resolve the issue.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Warm Regards,

    Hi Prasanth,
I have done all the BW configurations possible, but data is not at all loaded in the BW system.
The BW System is an Unicode one, where as the R/3 system is not an unicode one.
Data is not even loaded until PSA.
How can i maintain the language B in the source system? By running the RSCPINST and adding B to the corresponding table?
    Thanks Much!

  • Customized delta data source for deleting data record in the source system.

    Hello Gurus,
there is a customized delta data source,  how to implement delta function for deleting data record in the source system?
I mean if there is record deleted in the source sytem, how to notify SAP BW system for this deleting change by this customized delta
    data source?
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
when ever record deleted we need to write the code to insert the record in  Z table load this records into BW in a cube with similar structure.while loading into this cube multiply the Keyfigure by -1.
add this cube in the Multi Provider. The union of the records in the orginal cube and the cube having deleted records will result in zero vale and will not be displayed in report .

    Question,
    Hi Team,
I have issues during loading attribute data from R/3 source system to BI,
    I go to the path
Data Warehousing Workbench - Modeling window. In the DataSources view, my application component Group ##. On my DataSource i Create Info Package and save it,
Later I select the following options
    Full Update = select
On the Processing tab page, select only PSA.
On the Schedule tab page, choose Start Data Load Immediately and start the data load.
Till here everything is in active version and saved, and connection to the source system is active and working fine.
However when I do loading I received following messages, what I observed in Monitor window,
    Data was requested OK
    Request still running
    Diagnosis
No errors found. The current process has probably not finished yet.
    System Response
The ALE inbox of BI is identical to the ALE outbox of the source system
    or
the maximum wait time for this request has not yet been exceeded
    or
the background job has not yet finished in the source system.
    Current status
No Idocs arrived from the source system.
When I go to detail tab, under transfer section, I receive the following message
Data Package 1 : arrived in BW ; Processing : Selected number does not agree with transferred n
But when I actually go to PSA maintain section and select data and no of records, I can see the that data is loaded into PSA section,
But when I chose to run the transformation I donu2019t get data here,

  • New Source System Client for BW

    Hi All,
Currently we have R/3 QAS Clint 102 connected to BW QAS. We want to get rid of this Client 102 and connect a new QAS Client 100 (same server but different Client) to BW QAS. I created a new Source System (QAS100) in BW QAS and did a restore.
My question: How do I get all the Source system dependent Objects like InfoSurces, InfoPackages etc for the new Client 100 in BW QAS? Please help me and I promse to generously reward points.
    Thanks, very much in advance.

  • DW Side Work When the Sourcing System Gets Refreshed

    Dear colleagues,
We currently have an ECC 6 Client as the sourcing system feeding data into our QAS BW 3.5 environment (basically Master data and very little transaction data at the moment). Due to the Master Data inconsistency of the sourcing client, it is decided to rebuild the ECC client plus complete Master Data reloading.
So, as a Basis person with limited BW knowledge, I am a little bit nervous from the BW side in terms of the procedure how to rebuild our QAS BW system. Here I have following questions for your experts:
    1. Is there any standard procedure out there that I can follow in such a circumstance that I don’t think is unique to us.
    2. I believe I have to reload all the Master data once this has been done from the ECC side, do I have to delete all the Master data that have already been loaded into the BW and how should I do that?
    3. With the very limited transaction data, will they be gone if I rerun the INIT process or I have to do things differently?
    Thanks and regards,
    Joshua Z.

    Hi,
    Not very sure about Refresh.
But this is what we follow when you go for an SP upgrade or maintenance on source.
As a standard procedure its better to drain all the deltas before going ahead. As a first step I think you will stop all transactions in ECC. Once done Start pulling delta loads repeatedly till it fetches zero records. then reschedule your V3 Jobs to a future date.
    Then perform all this activities.
I dont think you have to delete MD as its overwritten the next time you load.
Is there a need for init if the previous init is still there?
Even in case you do I dont think you will lose any data. You always have an option of full repair to load any data from R3.
