Presets in different folders MUST have unique name? WHY?

You cannot have the same name on a preset, even though they reside in separate folders. At the filesystem level they are in different directories.
OS file systems allow you to have the same file name as long as it is NOT in the same folder.
To get around this, you must make each preset name different by one char, even though they are in different folders both in LR and on the OS FS.
Why is this important to me?
When shooting youth baseball, I would like to have five different folders of presets that represent a certain time of the day, as great preset for noon does not work for a picture take at 5pm in the evening..
So 5 folders, 9a-12p, 12p-3p, 3p-5p, so on..
Each folder would have 10-15 presets for quick develop settings based on where on the field I am shooting.
Open up a game shot in the morning, open the preset folder of 9a-12p, the presets are the same name, but adjusted for the time of the day..
.*Sigh*.

In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or Mountain Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

  • How can I rename all the images in different folders into a same name ?

    I need to rename all the jpgs in my music folders into "cover.jpg" so my mp3 player will recognize them as album covers, I've tried to use Automator but couldn't find a proper way to do it.
    Could anybody give me a hint about this? BTW I've kept only one picture in a single folder.
    Thanks~~

    I haven't tested this so maybe make a small folder to test on. In Automater create the following workflow
    Ask for Finder Items
    Get Folder Contents (Repeat for each subfolder found)
    Filter Finder Items (set Kind is image)
    Rename Finder Items
    You may need to play with the last one a little but I think Name Single Item should do the trick. This does assume there is only one image file in each folder. I did something similar to change the case of a bunch of random files over multiple directories.

  • Itunes installs with many folders of the same name,why?

    I have uninstalled and installed 3 times.  Each time it loads with many folders on left column with the same name.  What is resolution?

    Do you mean playlist folders or playlists? Reinstalling iTunes does not rebuild the library so it won't tidy up the structure of your library. Recent builds of iTunes have imported any m3u playlists found when scanning the media folders which can cause problems if you've previously generated playlists for all your albums with other software, though in this case the playlists would have different names.
    Have you subscribed to iTunes Match? There is a bug that can sometimes create hundreds of duplicate empty playlists. I've two scripts which might help you clean up: KillEmptyPlaylists and KillTopLevelPlaylists. This post describes a technique for resetting iTunes Match to stop it happening again.

  • Unique Names???

    I think it's rather silly that the names of some objects in the Discoverer Administrator edition need to be 'globally unique'.
    e.g. Item Classes must have unique names even across separate Business Areas. i.e. uniqueness is enforced per EUL.
    If I don't adhere to this then the interface automatically suffixes names with sequential numbers. Yuk.
    Any known workarounds?
    Thanks,
    Peter Verhoeven.

    Thanks a lot,
    I'll try to check it, but I am not sure if these BAPIs are the answer, because if you could change the unique name of the properties Key and Name with the BAPIs, surely you could do this with the RSA1 transaction, and I didn't see that option yet.
    Many thanks.

  • Messaging Server: mail and mailalternativeaddress attributes must be unique

    Email addresses for a given User Directory must have unique mail
    and mailalternativeaddress
    attributes.
    <P>
    Messaging Server uses the following two attributes to search for email
    addresses in the User Directory:<BR>
    <P>
    <OL>
    <LI>mail
    <LI>mailalternativeaddress
    </OL>
    <P>
    Each email address in the User Directory must have unique entries for these
    two attributes. If a given email address appears twice in the User Directory,
    the Messaging Server will display an error message and will not deliver the
    email to either address. In the case where a user wants email that is
    addressed to one email address to go to other email addresses as well (e.g., if
    a user has multiple accounts), you would need to create a group for that user
    and add the other email addresses to the group.
    <P>
    <B>Additional Notes:</B>
    <P>
    <UL>
    <LI>Administration Server 3.x and 4.x have various mechanisms for
    reducing the likelihood of user error when creating email accounts.
    <P>
    <LI>Administrators of Directory Server 4.x servers should also be aware that
    the mail and
    mailalternativeaddress
    attributes must be unique to prevent collisions between those two attributes.
    <P>
    The uid uniqueness plugin maintains uniqueness within attributes, but not across attributes.
    Using this feature for both attributes cannot fully prevent address collisions.
    <BR><P>
    For example, a user could theoretically enter duplicate values for the
    mail and
    mailalternativeaddress attributes:
    <BR>
    <P>
    mail: [email protected]
    <BR>
    <P>
    mailalternativeaddress: [email protected]
    <P>
    Although the server would initially accept this value for both attributes, it
    will post an error message later when it processes an email addressed to this
    address.
    </UL>

    What does “I overwrote the information in Accounts” mean? What exactly did you do? More info, please.
    Deleting a mail account (which i not the same as overwritting the account information) causes all your mail stored in that account’s mailboxes to be removed from the computer as well, and you you were warned that this would happen by an alert similar to this for Mail 2.x (I don’t know what the exact wording is in Mac OS X 10.3):
    Remove Account
    Are you sure you want to remove the <AccountType> account "<AccountName>"?
    This will permanently delete the account setup information, mailboxes, and messages from your computer. Messages stored on the mail server will not be affected.For IMAP-type accounts, this is not a problem because mail is stored on the server. If you deleted a POP account, however, your mail has certainly been wiped out from the computer, not just moved somewhere.
    To prevent that from happening, you should have moved your mail to custom “On My Mac” mailboxes instead of leaving it in the account’s mailboxes. Actually, using the account’s Inbox and Sent mailboxes for archiving purposes is a bad idea regardless — see Overstuffed mailbox is unexpectedly empty.
    If the POP account was configured to leave the messages on the server for some time, setting up the account again would cause any messages still on the server to be downloaded again, just like for IMAP accounts, but this would only work for received mail that has not yet been removed from the server.
    If the messages are not on the server and you don’t have a backup (which you should have made before doing something like that), you may try to salvage as many deleted mbox files as possible with a data recovery tool such as Data Rescue II or FileSalvage (the files to be recovered would be different in the case of Mail 2.x). Stop using your computer right now if you want to try that, as anything you do with the computer may cause the deleted files to be overwritten.

  • Streaming files with different folders

    Hi
    i am new to FMS4 and i am having a problem playing some files with different folders.
    i have different folders in C:\media3\feeds
    in that directory i have folder "1", "2" and "3"
    other words C:\media3\feeds\1
    C:\media3\feeds\2
    C:\media3\feeds\3
    in config folder i changed fms.ini
    VOD_DIR = C:\media3\feeds\
    and
    VOD_COMMON_DIR = C:\media3\feeds\
    i only got the f4v files to work in C:\media3\feeds\ which link is rtmp://localhost/vod/mp4:testfile.f4v
    so i tired to have some folders in C:\media3\feeds\ like mention above
    i tried to put <Streams>/;<C:\media3\feeds\1</Streams> in Applications.xml file in the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 4\applications\vod
    and used rtmp://localhost/vod/1/mp4:testfile.f4v
    here is piece of the App file
    <Application>
    <StreamManager>
    <VirtualDirectory>
          <!-- Specifies application specific virtual directory mapping for recorded streams.   -->
    <Streams>/;${VOD_COMMON_DIR}</Streams>
    <Streams>/;${VOD_DIR}</Streams>
    <Streams>/;<C:\media3\feeds\1</Streams>
    <Streams>/;<C:\media3\feeds\2</Streams>
    </VirtualDirectory>
    nothing worked
    can some one help me with this??

    If you are using
    VOD_DIR = C:\media3\feeds\ or VOD_COMMON_DIR = C:\media3\feeds\
    and having files in folder "1" which is under "C:\media3\feeds\"
    then you URI should be rtmp://localhost/vod/mp4:1/testfile.f4v (where testfile.f4v is present under C:\media3\feeds\1)
    If you are using
    <Streams>/;C:\media3\feeds\1</Streams>
    <Streams>/;C:\media3\feeds\2</Streams>
    Then your URI should be rtmp://localhost/vod/mp4:testfile.f4v  (where testfile.f4v is present under C:\media3\feeds\1 or C:\media3\feeds\2)
    Also please note in your configuration which you have specified
    <Streams>/;<C:\media3\feeds\1</Streams><Streams>/;<C:\media3\feeds\2</Streams>
     please remove "<" in "<C:\media3\feeds\1" and "<C:\media3\feeds\2"

  • NetBoot unique names

    I see it's been asked before how to have netboot clients have unique names, but I don't see this answer. In the Sharing Prefs of System Image Utility there is an option to spec a File Path for a file. They don't get any more detailed, but I did find this after searching apple.com:
    Note: Alternatively, type the path to a tab-delimited .txt or .rtf file that has a list of MAC addresses and their corresponding computer names and local hostnames. Each client will get the name that corresponds to its MAC address in the specified file.
    But no more info. Does anybody have the exact formatting required for such a file?
    thanks

  • LPX sounds slightly different while running LP9 projects. Why?

    I opened a project that I have ongoing from LP9 onto LPX.
    The sounds are mostly the same when I press play. It has all the same exact settings, plug-ins, instruments, channel strips, fader settings, etc.
    But it sounds different...
    It sounds significantly different and I have no idea why. I'm baffled.
    I can also see that even though the settings for absolutely everything are EXACTLY the same as they were on LP9, some tracks sound louder than others and as such makes the song unbalanced and sound poorly mixed.
    The faders are exactly where they were in LP9, but when playing it in LPX, some tracks are clipping well into the red and sound way too loud. Some sounds are brighter or sound less filtered than it did in 9 and even the compressor's effects sound different even though the settings are absolutely identical.
    What gives???
    Anyone else have this issue?
    I can mix the whole thing again through LPX now, but that'll be a pain in the butt since I did all of that on LP9 already and it sounds perfect there.
    If you don't have the answer, at least let me know if you experienced this too so I know I didn't have a fluke install (it doesn't appear to be a bad install at all, it all went quite smoothly actually).
    Anyway, thanks in advance.

    No, there is a bug...

  • Each swatch group MUST have a unique name

    If swatches do not have a unique name, the search engine will
    find all 10 swatches called "autumn" or "vanilla copy". Naming each
    swatch set as uniquely as possible is key to making each swatchset
    an "individual" and easy to locate.

    Unique tags also make the search process simple if used
    correctly.

  • Images with same name in different folders being swapped

    I've been out at a printers freelancing and using CS6 for the first time. I've a 64 page document with a large number of images (100+) that have been given various treatments and held in folders named to identify them.
    originals: sweden.jpg, germany.jpg, india.jpg…etc
    saturated: sweden.jpg, germany.jpg, india.jpg…etc
    greyscale: sweden.jpg, germany.jpg, india.jpg…etc
    and so on. The document contains differnt combinations of these pictures, all in all I've about 1,000 image links in the document.
    I opened up my document this morning and found for some reason the links to the images were broken - no idea why as no folders seem to have been moved but when I relinked to one of them - say a greyscale image - they ALL linked to the wrong set - the "saturated" ones. Looking at the image path in the links panel I see that's what's happened, ALL the link paths to ALL the images say "saturated", never mind the fact they're greyscale in the document.
    So is this a known issue? At the moment I can't find any solution but to relink manually over a thousand images, which, lets face it, is a bit of a disaster for me and the job deadline.
    I've used indesign for years and never come across anything even CLOSE to this sort of behaviour.

    InDesign has a feature that will automatically search for other missing links when you fix a missing link. When you relinked the first of your grayscale images, you may have accidentally relinked to the saturated image. When this happened it searched the directory that the newly re-linked file was in for all the other missing files. Since your image names all matched up to images in that directory, they all got re-linked.
    This auto-relink feature can be toggled in the relink dialog:
    If you have a backup of your file, you can revert to that version, and try to relink your images from that one. In the future you should make sure that images all have unique identifiers, it is bad practice to have images with identical names.

    This is no string http in your procedure. Then again the error message points to a line 47 outside a stored procedure. I can't tell it is outside, since there is no procedure name.
    But I see that you have this piece of dynamic SQL:
    SET @sql = ' EXEC msdb.dbo.sp_send_dbmail @profile_name = ''DBA_mail_test''
    ,@recipients = ''' + isnull(@recipients1,'''') + ''',@subject = ''' + isnull(@mailheader,'''') + ''',
    @body = ''' +isnull(@tableHTML,'''')+ ''',
    @body_format = ''HTML'''
     Exec(@sql)
    Why is this dynamic SQL at all? Why not just make plain call to sp_send_dbmail?
     EXEC msdb.dbo.sp_send_dbmail @profile_name = 'DBA_mail_test'
    ,@recipients = @recipients1, @subject = @mailheader, @body = @tableHTML

    Hi,
    Foreign key columns are frequently used in join criteria when the data from related tables is combined in queries by matching the column or columns in the FOREIGN KEY constraint of one table with the primary or unique key column or columns in the other table.
    For more information about the foreign key constraint, please refer to this link:

  • Importing files of the same name in *different* folders?

    Yes, yes, we all know about the RAW+JPEG and whatever else argument.
    But why should I be prevented from importing identical files that are stored in different folders? Who cares if they are in the library twice?
    I haven't figured out if it's just a name issue (don't think so) or if the files have to be truly identical.
    I *think*, but am not sure, that you can import separate files of the same name but that are actually different images. Can anyone verify?

    Bob,
    It appears that you can import duplicate named files by unchecking the "ignore Duplicates' box--the first time you import files (or a file) from a folder. But, if you go back to that folder to use 'import' to update, then the import takes place immediately bypassing the screen with the "ignore Dulicates' box on it--I presume it assumes that you would not want to change any of the original settings for an import from a given folder.
    The point is you had better leave it unchecked always if you want duplicates ingested intially or later on reimport.

  • Can I have unique decision table name in the BRF Plus System?

    Hi All,
    In BRF Plus , we can create more than one decision table with the same name in the same application or across different applications.
    We have a requirement were in we have to setup a framework so that we don't have duplicate decision name or any expression name across system. We need to maintain unique name.
    One way is to control this by having particular naming conventions but still there will be room for errors.
    Is there are way to activate the unique name for decision table name across or within application?
    Thanks.

    Hi Sainath
    Carsten is of course always correct.  That said I can understand the desire - if only to avoid confusion for business users.  Sounds like a good use case for the new DSM deployment approval workflow perhaps? But in the short term either application exits or custom programs are the most likely solutions
    Hope that helps
    Jocelyn
