Price for repair?

My ipod was accidently scopped up with a pile of clothes and washed and dried. i put it in rice and the screen came back and was showing all my music but now it is locked up just showing the apple sign. about how much would it cost to fix it or would i be better off buying a new one?

The price would depend on whether or not you had Apple do the job or a third party repair company.  Here are Apple's repair quotes.  They usually don't repair the device, but instead giving you a replacement one.

You can Google for third party repair services. However, with water damage, it's usually much better to just purchase a new iPod.

There's definitely something wrong with it. How much it takes to repair such problem? and how long time it takes?

Some iPad users have been able to revive their dropped iPad. Turn the iPad over and give it a HARD SLAP on the back. May take several slaps.
Apple's Limited Warranty http://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/ for iPad excludes coverage for damage resulting from accident, disassembly, unauthorized service and unauthorized modifications.

If you own an iPad that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, Apple will replace (Apple doesn't repair) your iPad with an iPad that is new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability for the Out-of-Warranty Service fee listed below. (The replacement will most likely be a refurbished iPad in a brown box, however, it has a new screen, back and battery.)

  • Price for ipod 5 screen repair on one year warantee

i was wondering if the prices for repair were different or if they were free if you still have the one year warantee? i have a cracked ipod 5 screen and i was wondering if that's covered by the warranty, especially since it's a stress fracture that didnt result in dropping it, etc.

Generally a cracked or broken screen is considered accidental damage so is not covered by the warranty.
You can make an appointment at your local apple store and have them quote you a price. The usual procedure is to exchange your device for a replacement after paying the service fee.

  • Cost price Problem for repair FG.

    hi,
    Business scierio-
Mat "A' Done GR aginst Production order, Now the Same FG undergone the repair, we use to do Creating New FG Mat "B" and making old FG (mat "A") as a component of Mat "B" .
Note- for every FG we having the BOM (universal).
Now the Problem is- Components used in Mat "A" having Valution is MAP (CP), but the FG Valuation is Standard price (Selling Price).
During issue of Mat "A" to floor the selling price get updating in the cost price GL account During repair process.
What should i do to get the actual Cost price for Mat B.
Is it require to change the valuation of the Old FG i,e Mat "A" in to actual Cost Price before issuing to floor?
    Waiting for reply
    Veera.

While creating cost estimate with Qty Structure, first BOM is exploded by the system & prices are picked up from material master as per this sequence.
Ideally, the 1st preference should  be - valuation according to price control in MM.
so that if a material is valued at MAP, it's MAP will be picked up for costing & if valued at Std Price, it's std price will be picked up.
In your case 1st it will check for Planned Price 1. If the system finds a value in the Planned price 1 field (costing view), this value is taken as the value for valuating the material & so on.

  • My brother purchased new ipad 4, 5 days ago and the sim tray stuck very first day. I gave it to jaipur service centre for repair and they are asking for 20000 Rs (price of ipad mini for just sim tray repair). What should i do?

    Dear All,
My brother just purchased an ipad4, 5 days ago and the very first day sim tray stuck. When i sent it to jaipur (rajasthan) service centre, they asked Rs 20,000 for repair and issuing new tray. This is the cost of new ipad mini, and they are giving me just one tray. It is also approx. half of the price of new ipad4. Even the new ipad is just 5 days old and should be repaired for free. If not free, is Rs 20,000 is fair?
Please tell me what should i do?
    Thanks!
    [email protected]

If the service center determined that the SIM socket was damaged by your brother, as would appear to be the case, and not due to a factory defect, they will charge for replacing the entire iPad, not just for the SIM tray. Apple at this time replaces the iPad for just about any problem, and charges a flat fee for doing so.
If this service center is one authorized by Apple, your brother can try calling Apple Support India at (91) 1800 4250 744 and discussing the situation with them. Ultimately, though, it is the technician's judgement as to what caused the problem, and Apple will usually take the word of the technician when it comes to determination of user-caused damage.

  • T400 - Video problems and a long wait for repair...

    Hi,
I'd just like to state my experience with Lenovo Customer Support for a video problem with my T400.  Bottom line, as of today, it's been around 27 business days that it's been with Lenovo, and 41 days total since it's failed on me, and nobody, including Lenovo Customer Support, seems to know what its status is exactly, except that they're waiting on a part which has no ETA.
In July 2009, I bought a T400, a 2764CTO version with the switchable graphics between the internal intel graphics and the ATI GPU.
All was well until February 1st, 2010, when the LCD sudden wouldn't work.  Well, it would work, but the screen was very very dim, even with the display maxed out on brightness.  You would have literally bring your nose to the screen in order to even make out any text or images - definitely unusable.  However, if you hooked up an external monitor via the video output, the T400 would display video output properly that way.  When I did this, I noticed that the switchable graphics option wasn't there any more - couldn't switch to the ATI GPU.  Based on this, I figured it must be a video card or LCD issue, or a combination of both.
So, I called Lenovo Customer Support (CS) at 1-800-565-3344, since I'm up here in Canada, and I initially was issued a case number of 41JRFSD, and I agreed to send it to a local Lenovo Repair Centre.  Oops, my bad, I made a mistake using the locator tool I was told to use at bplocator.lenovo.com, and thought the Centre was relatively close.  Not quite.  So, I called Lenovo CS again, and they issued me with a new case number, 40KWSYF, and said they'd send a box for return to depot.  And within 2 days, Feb 2nd or 3rd, I got a Purolator courier return box.  That's fast service!  Pleased, I put my T400 in according to instructions, and I sent it off.
Fast forward to about mid-February.  I called Lenovo CS, and apparently there was a delay - the depot needed a part that wasn't in stock. Fine, I know these things can happen - I'll wait.
Fast forward to March 1st.  I talk to a Lenovo CS rep, and it appears that the part needed has arrived, and they've put a rush order to get the computer back to me. Great!
Fast forward to March 8th, still no computer.  I talk to another Lenovo CS rep... strange, there's no update.  The issue gets escalated to the Depot managers.
Fast forward to March 12th.  Still no word on my T400's status.  An email fron CS has been sent to the depot.  Not even the CS reps know what's going on.  The rep I talk to figures there should be a response by the end of the day.
Fast forward to today, March 13th, 4:50pm Pacific Time.  I just finish talking to Lenovo CS, there's been no response from the depot.  Apparently there's a part that they're waiting on for repairs, but there's no ETA on it.  Is it the same part that I've waiting on all this time?  Is it a new one?  I don't know.
At this point, I've been told to send an email explaining my situation, and I've also been told to talk to Scott the next time I call CS on Monday after 3pm Eastern.  I have to stress that the Lenovo Customer Support Reps I've talked to have all been very sympathetic and have been courteous, helpful, and professional - something I appreciate from having worked in Customer Support myself.  But the bottom line remains: my computer's not back to me.
So, my questions to the community here: is my experience here typical?  Is there any hope of my seeing my computer back, or even at least just the hard drive?  I've used Lenovo computers for work for the past 7 years, and it was my good work experiences that led me to buying a Lenovo for home use.  However, it's been a while since I've been without my T400, and I was hoping to get my taxes done on the computer too, since they're due at the end of March.  I'll reserve judgement on Lenovo until I get my computer back, but at this point, all I can say is... I'm disappointed.
If you're reading this, I'll let you judge my experience for youself.  I'll update my case as it progresses.
    Thanks!
Moderator edit: Removed support contact private information, per the Community Rules.

    Hi all,
So, an update with some good news: my computer is finally back!
After a total of over 40 business days (just over 2 months) I finally have my T400 back at home, working again!
According to the spec sheets, the repair depot had to replace: the systemboard/planar, display/LCD panel, LCD cable, PC card, bluetooth, and the inverter.  BIOS/Embedded controller was also updated, along with the regular diagnostics to ensure everything was working properly.
I give Lenovo credit though: they got the final parts to repair the computer on Monday, April 5th, and shipped my computer back to me for the next day (today, April 6th).  That's fast service, once repaired!
However, my case spans over 4 screens of updates and repair depot orders of parts.
Also, it took me over 10 calls to Lenovo's Customer Service, plus an escalation to a higher-level manager after 1 month had passed, to get progress updates and ETAs for repair.
Lenovo called me only once to give me an update, and that was the manager whom my issue was escalated to: all the other times, I called Lenovo for an update.
The story doesn't end here, however:
In talking to Customer Support, they told me that Sales might be able to sell me an extended warranty at a discount, given the issues I had.  And indeed, after talking to Sales, they offered me a 1 year warranty extension at a price of just over $100 CDN, plus tax.  This is a sale price, compared to the regular retail of $129.  Unfortunately, they can't sell me just one month.
At this point, I refused their offer, and again escalated to a manager to request an extension of exactly 1 month on my existing warranty.  I figure 1 month delay in repairs, that's plausible - crap happens, and while most repairs take 5-10 business days, I can understand it can sometimes go higher.  Two months though....  My request for a warranty extension is being considered by the manager it was escalated to.
So, one last question for you folks reading this: am I being unreasonable, talking to Lenovo support one more time to request a 1 month extension of my warranty, given the length of time it's taken for repairs?  I'll post the response Lenovo will give me tomorrow, as they've said they'll do.
One thing for sure: Lenovo's response will definitely influence my choice of brand from whom to buy a new computer (and it will influence the choice of my friends who've heard my issues, and maybe yours too).  My particular repair problem may not come up often, but if it does happen to you, I'd be happy to know of your experience.
Thanks for sticking with me through the drama!

  • If I take my Iphone 5c to the apple store to be fixed with the service charge of $269, if they can't fix it do they replace the phone? Or will I have to pay retail price for a new phone?

I have a water damaged iphone 5c. I was thinking about taking it to the Apple store and paying the 269 dollar service charge for them to attempt to fix it. My question is: If they can't fix it, will they replace my phone for that $269 dollars, or will I have to pay full retail price for a new phone?

They do not repair at all.
    The replace.
The $269 is for a replacement.

  • My ipone 5c screen broke what is best place for repair and cost?

My iphone 5c has a broken screen, where can I get it replaced and the price for that?

I guess as I haven't had a lot of issues with previous phones (only had to have a phone looked at for a hardware issue once), I'm trying to gauge whether the risk is worth it or not, which is why I posed the question here. What's the likelihood of something happening to my phone's hardware? But then how to I justify the higher price for getting it repaired by an Apple licensed service provider?
I know you guys can't necessarily answer those questions, but that's my contemplation right now.
    Thanks.

  • Delivery related billing for repair order

    Hi sdn,
Could you please explain how to do the delivery related billing for repair orders.
Earlier we my client was using order related billing for repair orders. Instead of that he wants delivery related billling.
We have done all configuratin settings
While doing the delivery the system is going to termination.
In earlier process IRPA IRRP IRRE IRAL item categories are determining in the repair order.
IRPA is relavent for price and billing
IRRE and IRRP relavant for returns delivery
IRAL item category relavant for delivery and not relavan for pricing
We changed the config settings for IRPA item category .we changed the IRPA item category relavan for delivery
When enter the VL01n the syetem is terminating program.
Due to this include L1PWF46 system going to terminate
Please advice how i will change the process into delivery related billing instead of order related billing.

I have done all configuration settings which were related to delivery related billing but still the program was terminated. This process related repair and service.

  • Sending Spare part for repairing via subcontracting

    Hi All,
Our business practice includes to send any spare part(i.e Motor) for
repairing purpose outside the plant premises on the subcontracting
    challan.
But this particular spare part (of ERSA material type) has ALREADY got
issued and NO stock exists under this material code for sending it
    outside.
So currently we are creating the new material code (which is non valuated
in nature)and generating the stock(via movement type 501) of the same for
sending it outside by using the custom movement type 941 (copy of 541
    movement type).
For the above excercise to happen, everytime it is very tedious excercise
to create the non valuated material code. it implies every repairable
material code is having 2 material codes one is valuated and 2nd one is
non valuated, which gives lot of confusion to users.
Please suggest some way out for this issue.
    Thanks & Regards
    Nitin

    Hi
I hope you can use Split caluation here.  Create two valuation type Valuated and Non - Valuated. Carry out the necessary config for split valuation.  while Creating material master for valuation type valuated maintain MAP in accounting view and for valuation type Non-valuated maintain standard price 0.  This may be useful for you

  • Mm issue:-how to deal with  gds sent for repairs and again issued for consm

The main problem is that if something come for repairing it increase the stock for one period and decrease the R and M for that period. And when after 4 months when goods are received after repairing it disturbs the R and M expense in another period.  And this also disturbs the valuation of the material.
Any one can suggest how to deal with the repairs done to materials without affecting the valuation price of  original material.
my points is how everyone in india is dealing with goods sent for repairs outside their company.
what all entries are generated from first receipt of goods in company till  good sent for consumption after received from vendor who repaired the goods.
    all a/c and mm entries

what we have decided that we would have 2 valuation type
    1. sap-domestic :- normal stock
    2. sap-use/repair :- repaired items.
All the goods should be received using sap-domestic valuation. from here goods are sent to shop floor. when ever repair is required goods are received in stock thru sap-use-repair at value zero and not moving price specific to sap-use/repair valuation.
so till goods that require repair and that already repaired are kept in stock, they are kept at 2 different values one is zero and other is moving price specific to valuation type sap-use/repair.
now goods are sent for repair at zero value but when these goods are received after repair then value of repair will affect the moving price of valution sap-use/rep.
so this will solve our problem that goods should be received from shop floor to stock for repair at value zero.
how can we achieve this that goods received from shop floor to stock for repair is received at zero value and not moving price specific to valuation sap-use/rep. where we will have do setting in this vaution type or wherever required.
pls send some suggestions on it
