Print Preview broken with Reader 9.3/Firefox 3.5.7?

Since updating to Firefox 3.5.7 and Reader 9.3, one of our users reports the print preview no longer works properly.  Trying to downgrade to Reader 9.2 or Firefox 3.5.6 produced similar results on my test workstation.
Computers in question are running Windows XP SP3.
Has anyone else encountered this issue?  Are there efforts to fix this functionality?
John

I do not use the method "renderPDFForm" (at least not explicitly), instead use the "renderXDPForm (...)".
I added the XDP form the zip (I forgot): download from here!
And the only parameter that you can tell this method over the "target" of the resulting PDF is "com.adobe.idp.services.PDFFormRenderSpec. "
/* Common to all generated PDF */
com.adobe.idp.services.PDFFormRenderSpec renderSpec= new com.adobe.idp.services.PDFFormRenderSpec();
renderSpec.setLinearizedPDF(true);
renderSpec.setLocale("es_ES");
renderSpec.setRenderAtClient(RenderAtClient.No);
renderSpec.setCacheEnabled(false);
renderSpec.setStandAlone(true);
/* Target version 8 o superior: Usede ONLY to generate "MyForm-ES-AcroVersion8.pdf" */
renderSpec.setAcrobatVersion(AcrobatVersion.Acrobat_8);
/* Target version 7.0.5 o superior: Usede ONLY to generate "MyForm-ES-AcroVersion7.pdf"  */
renderSpec.setAcrobatVersion(AcrobatVersion.Acrobat_7_0_5);
/* Target version 6 o superior: Usede ONLY to generate "MyForm-ES-AcroVersion6.pdf"  */
renderSpec.setAcrobatVersion(AcrobatVersion.Acrobat_6);
After this, process PDF forms resulting in Assembler.
I tried also NO explicitly assign the "AcroVersion" ... and in such cases, the resulting AcroVersion indicated corresponds to the time of design (Adobe Designer, File / Form Properties / Default / Target Version), and in such cases the resulting PDF, also displays the warning message.
I do not know if I answered your question.
Any idea?

  • Windows 7: Unable to print pdf documents with Reader 9.3.0

    I have the following problem.
    Right now we are on the way to deploy Windows 7 in our environment. Now i have come over a problem with Adobe Reader 9.3.0, Windows 7 and our older printer modells from HP (4000er and 4050er). With them I can't print out any pdf document because in reader 9.3.0 the default language level is set to "Level 3". If i change this drop down to "Level 2" I can print out the document without any problems.
    Question is: How can I permanently set this option to default to "Level 2" (see screenshot - this is found if you hit the advanced button in the printing dialog).
    Any help is apreciated...

    When using a 32-bit browser, the PDF document should open in the browser (using the Adobe Reader add-on).
    When using a 64-bit browser, it will ask you if you want to save the document, or open in Adobe Reader.
    If neither of these methods work, then it is the website that does not let you download the document (for whatever reason, e.g. server overload).
    Try if you can open this document: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83708/attachments/Acrobat_Reader_ReleaseNote_10.1.2.pdf

  • PDF printing is broken with  "Stopped Filter failed"

    This is really a "windows" kind of error, that i was not expecting to see in Mac,
    I have Timecapsul  wireless network, printer 7520 (HP) I bought it from Apple store,and macbook pro.
    everything works I have printer setup wirelessly etc ..  but for some reason I can not print from PDFs only
    again it only happens with PDF files, all other doc formats print fine.
    I have full licensed version of acrobat XI Pro.
    I tried reinstalling driver, removing adding printer etc ... nothing helps,
    my computer name in sharing is not empty, ... what else to try?
    now I am deciding should I contact HP Adobe, or Apple for tech support,
    this is so confusing ...

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Select
    /var/log ▹ cups ▹ error_log
    from the hierarchical list on the left side of the Console window. If you don't see that list, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the time of the last failed printing attempt. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
    If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
    When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
    Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

  • Epson E-Web Print toolbar works with IE but not Firefox 28 on Windows 8 PC

    Seems like the Epson E-Web Print toolbar stopped working after the update for Firefox 27. Switched to Internet Explorer and the toolbar works fine.

    This from Epson's support site isn't very promising:
    <blockquote>Q: EPSON E-Web Print does not work since I upgraded to Windows 8.1. Why does this happen?<br><br>
    A: '''EPSON E-Web Print is no longer supported by Epson.'''<br><br>

    What did it do? Maybe there's a good substitute.

  • Embedded PDF blank with Reader X and Firefox in protected mode

    Lately I've noticed that for certain PDFs (those served in a web page) in Firefox 4.0b10, that the page is simply blank.  There's nothing but the normal Firefox background.  Acrord32.exe never runs.  If I kill the plugin-container.exe process it simply says the Adobe plugin crashed and asks if I want to reload.  If do I get the same blank page again.
    I have to go and turn off protected mode, kill the plugin-container.exe process again and then the PDF will load.  This problem seems to occur with PDF files that load solely in the plugin-container.exe and don't launch acrord32.exe.   They also have the old Reader 9 style toolbar at the top of the page instead of the floating toolbar in the middle of the page.

    Your log file shows you to be running v10.1.0.534. Could you please update to the latest version which is v10.1.1 and then try again. You can get it from here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/direct/
    Also, has a rule been created in the BeyondTrust Software application you appear to be using to allow Reader X to open in Protected Mode? That application might be interfering with the way Reader X operates. There's a demo on their site which might help: http://www.beyondtrust.com/Products/PowerBroker-Desktops-Windows-Edition/Product-Demo/

  • Printing (or print preview) a Pie Flash Chart in Firefox doesn't work

    Hi,
    my page with four flash chart in firefox doesn't work.
    In IE is OK.
    Firefox 2.0.0.0
    Application Express 3.0.1.00.08
    Any Help?
    Thanks in advance

    Are you printing from the Flash right-click menu or through Firefox? I don't think Firefox prints Flash regions when you print the entire page.

  • Print PDF issues with Reader 11.0.03

    I upgraded to Reader 11.0.03 and can no longer print any .pdf files in Mac OS 10.8.4 I get the print dialog box, but when attempting to print get a pop-up “The document could not be printed” and then “there were no pages selected to print”.

    Once it goes to the Print Dialogue box, you've essentially left Reader and are working in Mountain Lion. This may be a Reader setting, but when you installed Reader XI it retained all the preferences from X, so it's unlikely that the install alone did this.
    You can try a "clean install":
    Download a trial of AppZapper.
    Use it to remove Reader XI and all preferences and .plist files.
    Download and reinstall Reader XI and see if it changes.
    If it doesn't it's most likely in your printer settings.

  • Lost my preview Thumbnails with Reader DC update

    And as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so I would really like them back.

    Thanks a lot Adobe. You want us to PDF everything, but you're not prepared fix something you broke. That's really useful for those of us that have folders full of PDF's and now have to click on each one individually to see the preview, unless you want to open up and use Bridge. So kind of you to let us pay for this privilege as well!

  • Print issue with ebay and latest Firefox

    Just gone to the latest Firefox 37.0.01 and it is not printing ebay invoices/labels correctly - I print multiple invoices at a time and it prints out every other one - it only shows every other one in print Preview.
    reverting back to an earlier firefox fixes this problem
    Any fixes for the latest version?

    It might have to do with a compatibility change, however I have found some alternative solutions from other forums. I would imagine it would vary on the printer.
    A
    Click "FILE" in the upper let corner
    Go to : "PAGE SETUP"
    Go to : 'MARGINS & HEADER / FOOTER" and adjust them.
    B.
    Try to download any available printer drivers available for the printer.

  • Using a mac. will not print...no image with print preview ...why no print image?

    why no image when use print preview nor with print function? using a mac

    Hello my friend,
    When troubleshooting we look to see if the problem is local or global.  Again, you may very well know this so apologies.  Anyway, if you haven't already, then please create another account on your Mac.  You should do this anyway, actually everybody should.  (The Tim knows).  So test to see if the problem exists in the other account as well.  I name the extra account maint and make it an admin account.  If you find that it prints normally with the maint account, that is good, because it just means that one or more of your local account preferences are munged in the primary account.  Global on the other hand is a bit more work to solve.  If that's the case you can try reinstalling the operating system.  In most cases that will overwrite the low level culprit and put you back in the sweet zone.  Let me know how it goes, it's an interesting problem.  I like those.  Especially when they aren't mine.  ;-)
    I have been supporting Ma cs for a very very long time.  If IICX rings a bell.  Anyway, just reinstalling the OS over the top is pretty quick.  However, we techs like to find the little sucker that's causing the problem and we can spend many hours scouring to locate it.  It's a challenge to us not to let the computer get the better of us.  Win.  But the reality of it is often a simple OS reinstall will get you back in the game.  Beyond that is a hardware problem concern.  To me from what you describe it sounds software to me.  So don't worry too much about that at this point.
    Peace, Tim

  • With these changes I can only print a page the print preview capability has been taken away I use it all the time when wanting to print something from a website

    When I was in a website and I wanted to print a page there use to be in the upper left hand corner of my screen a tab that said 'FIREFOX', I could click on that tab and I had several options, one was 'print' and 'print preview'. I use the print preview button all the time to see what the page would look like when I was printing and how many pages there were. I could then choose to print all or some of an article and adjust it to what I wanted to print. I no longer have that tab in the upper right hand corner. Now in the upper right hand corner is a tab for 'open menu', however in that menu is only a 'print' button. There is no option for 'print preview' and therefore I cannot adjust what I want to print. I also could adjust the margins, etc. from a view tab, that too I cannot find. I really hope there options are still available and how do I find them, where are they located?

    In my updated firefox, the print button does NOT open print preview first.
    How can I access print preview function?

  • Adobe Reader Print Preview

    Hello,
    Our buisness program has a built in Fax program that uses Windows Fax and Scan, when I send our priclist to  243 companies each week a print preview from Adobe Reader pops up each time. How can this preview be turned OFF?

    That depends upon the fax software, not Reader.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 - Print Preview is not available

    I have a new HP Officejet Pro 8600 AIO printer that I purchased last week. I hooked it up to print in a network environment. I have thee window xp systems and three windows 7 systems printing to it with no issues.I am very happy with it. Yesterday my wife told me that when she printed she missed the print preview that our former printer had. I thought I would easily get into the HP 8600 printer program and setup the print preview option. To my surprise after checking in numerous areas and online, I found out that it looks like the option has been left out or not provided for the printer by HP. I realize the MS Office and many other programs have their own print preview however when being online with Google Chrome or Internet Explorer, you quickly realize that the option to select the pages you want to print and not print could save alot of wasted paper and ink. Someone please tell me that a print preview software option is in the works for this otherwise great printer! I can not imagine leaving this out of the printing software package provided.

    Since HP isn't answering me on the 'Print Preview' being available soon or which HP printers software actally HAVE the 'print preview' function enabled... I did some searching and I found a partial answer to the 'print preview' delema.  The web site http://www.obviousidea.com/windows-software/greencloud-printer/
    has a free program called GreenCloudPrinter which, in a nut shell, will install a printer? called GreenCloud which set itself up as the default printer and any file that is sent to the printer gets directed to the GreenCloud device which will then bring up a 'print preview' screen with options to remove blank pages and or print or not print the preview!  And a lot of other functions too.  Works great and it's free.  You do have to register it and a registration code is emailed to you to unlock the program. I hope that helps you out... worked for me.
