Print Widget in Landscape?

I'm using the print widget in Captivate 4 but it only prints in portrait.  I need it to print in landscape without the user having to change printer settings (and without cutting off the full slide).  My projects are typically based off of PowerPoint imports.  Any suggestions?  Or does someone have a different print widget that will print in landscape?  Thanks.

The solution I found is this:
Don't use the print widget in Captivate 8. It simply does not work the way it should be able to work.  Unless you are capable of scripting in Actionscript 2.0 and have access to an older version of Captivate, there is no way to get around this bug.
The problem I discovered is that Captivate 8 will only allow you to use Actionscript 3.0 in Flash; you can open the widget in Flash, but you MUST open it through Captivate first if you intend to use it in Captivate.  So, once you open the widget for adjustments through Captivate, it automatically chooses AS 3.0 as the scripting language to use, no other choice is available.  IF you have Captivate 7 or lower, however, it allows you to script in AS 2.0.  I do not, so I cannot assist you in scripting the widget.
What I ended up doing was, I made my own certifcate in Photoshop, saved it as a .PNG, and added it to the last page. Using the internal coding of Captivate I told the program to only go to that slide upon success of the quiz.
To Print:  go to Window > Skin Editor.  On the left are check boxes for playbar choices - check off 'Show Playback Control,' and then choose your theme. From the dropdown, choose "print."  If you don't want anything else on the playbar, then check those items off; Choose where you want the playbar to show (I chose bottom and bottom center). See below:
You can see the icons on the bottom, in the center.  The icon to the left is the Print button.  This works well, though you may have to make print choices from your local print dialog.  I have to tell it to print landscape, for instance, otherwise it prints portait and too small.  But this does work, and it solves the issue of non-working print widgets.

  • Captivate 8 print widget does not print in landscape; prints full resolution of project and not just the certificate?

    I am new to Captivate and am tasked with learning how to use Captivate 8.  I need to add a certificate of completion to the end of my project and have many questions for which I cannot find any answers! Please, if anyone can answer these:
    1) I do not want the certificate to be printed until the score of the quiz reaches a specific minimum - for example, you need a score of 80% or better to print a certificate.  How do I do this with the print widget?
    2) I want the certificate to print out without the slide background and without the project's resolution - in other words, I only want the certificate image (with added text box for name) to print, IN LANDSCAPE, without the user having to make all the adjustments on their end (choosing landscape over portrait with their printer).  How is this accomplised?
    3) I want a date entered on the certificate - how do I add this specific element?
    Without a certificate widget and the use of Flash with this version, I am confused as to how exactly Captivate provides the ability to print certificates?  I do not know HTML5, and am spotty with Javascript.  Why would a feature such as certificates and the ability to print them be such a clandestine thing?  No tutorials, no clear advice on how exactly to achieve this widely popular feature of training material development.  Seems to me that it should be MUCH easier to accomplish, but I'm stumped at this point.

    Any suggestions?

    Centering an entire page's worth of content is pretty simple, but not as simple as adding align:center to the css of every element.
    You likely need to remove a bunch of stuff from your css if that's what you were trying. Seeing the page is going to be the best way to tell you how to fix it.
    Many people will use a container like <div id="wrapper"> to center their page, so that's what I'll use in the example. Here is the css that would go in your page's <style> tags, or in your external .css file...
    #wrapper {
         width:950px;
         margin:0 auto;
    Then in the html...
    <body>
    <div id="wrapper">
         all of your page's content
    </div>
    </body>
    What this does is creates a 950 pixel wide wrapper around all of your content (the pixel amount isn't as important as the fact that there is a width that is less than 100%). The browser then sets the left and right margin to the same setting using all of the available horizontal space by setting the left and right margins to auto. Basically, if the browser viewport is wider than the wrapper div (anything more than 950 pixels in this example), the left and right margin will split that remaining amount between themselves and center your content.

    The Universal Crossword Print Widget has been discontinued, and there will be no new content. However, you can still receive the Universal Crossword printable by subscribing on your HP web-enabled printer’s front panel, or by visiting HPConnected.com (in the U.S.) or ePrintCenter.com (elsewhere). Note: You will need an HP web-enabled printer to subscribe.

    Hi 57055:
    First of all, there is no charge of any kind for the Universal Crossword widget or any of the content. Any charges you are seeing are not for this application or for the crossword - if you are seeing charges and think they are for this application, something is wrong. You should look into having those charges cancelled if you do not know what they are for.
    Please run through the uninstall and reinstall steps one more time. The uninstall steps are very important - just deleting the icon, for instance, does NOT uninstall the program.
    So, first, uninstall. Follow the steps here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/ePrint-Print-Apps-Mobile-Printing-and-ePrintCenter/How-do-I-un-install-...
    Then reinstall, following the steps at the top of this thread (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/ePrint-Print-Apps-Mobile-Printing-and-ePrintCenter/How-do-I-install-the...)

  • Printing 2-up landscape pages in proper sequence

    I'm printing a 44-page pdf document to pdf file.
    To reduce length of printed version, printing 2-up landscape, auto-rotated and centered.
    If I send to file, then open, pages print in 2-1, 4-3, 6-5 sequence.
    If I send to file with pages 2-up landscape in reverse order, pages print from 44 down to 1, but all pages are correctly sequenced, i.e., odds on the left and evens on the right.
    What settings should I use to get pages sequenced 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 etc., reading from the front of the document?
    Jeff's in BAD need of help!

    Sounds like your ad is 8.5 x 11, with a full bleed.  Set up a document in InDesign for 12 x 18, and then place your InDesign files into the 12 x 18 document, keeping in mind that if the ad acutally does bleed, you want to select bleed bounding box in the place options.  You also need to arrange the 12 x18 document for a gutter.

    Set the printer properties to landscape. Also, there may be an issue with auto-rotate.

  • Problem : Sapscript prints Portrait - need Landscape -- Print driver ?

    Hello everybody,
    my SAPScript Form prints portrait (rotated Landscape). I need ist in Landscape. All Settings in the Form are correct. We use an EPSON FX2180 and the devicetype SWIN with access method "S". Anyone an idea where else I can configure the Page format ? Thx in advance.

    Check this,it may be helpful to solve your issue...
    goto SPAD , select full adminstration
    click in device types(tab)
    click device types, double click your printer device from the list (Ex, SWIN),
    CLICK "FORMATS", goto your page format and double click on it, if printer initialization is active double click on it and comment all the code by placing # in the beginning... as this is the place where it overrides printer settings...
    Close the thread once your question is answered.

    user is trying to print billing Document
    How to change printing format from landscape to protraite from SAP level
    Thanks in advacne.

    Hi,
    Check the attributes of the smartforms or sapscripts.
    You can give the option for landscape or potrait format.
    For sapscript, the option is available in the basic settings tab.
    For smartforms, the option is available in the output options in the page window.

  • Problem with Print Window in Landscape

    Hi,
      I am using "Print Window" menu option of LabVIEW to print Visible area of Front Panel. When I select printer setting for Portrait printing, the print is fine and same as visible on screen. However when I change printer setting to Landscape, the lower portion of screen(on print out) is cut. Also screen is displaced on print. This abnormal behaviour also changes if I change margins but it never vanishes.
        I have tried changing "Tools >> Options >> Printing" to Bitmap from LabVIEW. This corrects the problem but now the print resolution is extremely poor.
       I am using screen resolution of 1024x768 on LCD monitor. The screenshots of two situations are attached. Please help me getting out of this trouble. I am using LabVIEW 8.6 initially installed in Evaluation mode and now working in Base Licensed mode. However the results are same.
    Thanks & Regards

    I am also having a similar problem printing a VI.  I'd like to print out some barcodes but some of them are printing with poor resolution.  It prints out a few of the control using full resolution true type, and the others are in screen resolution.  I'm using LV8.5 but I think I've seen this problem in other new versions.
    A printout in pdf is attached.
    Thanks,
