Printing Envelope using Word Perfect

Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless -
Operating Sys - Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
envelope feed is centered in the paper tray.  Word Perfect will print envelopes only if fed down the right side of the paper tray.  HP claims there is a problem with Word Perfect and Corel claims the problem is in the print driver. I've never had a printer before that would work with only Microsoft Word. I've never had this problem before purchasing this printer.

Hi,
Here are the steps for printing in word perfect :
Printing envelopes in Word Perfect
In WordPerfect, the Print Driver and Envelope Format Settings must match for the envelope to print properly. The Following steps show how to set up envelope printing in WordPerfect 7.0; other versions of WordPerfect follow similar if not identical routines.
Set the Print Driver settings in the Printer Folder to print in Landscape mode. In Windows 95 and 98, right-click the print driver icon and select Properties. Then go to the Paper section. In Windows NT, double click the print driver icon and go to Document Defaults under Printer. Go to the Features section and make the change.
From within WordPerfect, click Format and Envelopes.
Go to Envelope definitions to select the size.
To verify the settings, or if the desired envelope size is not present, click Create New Definition.
Check the list of available envelope sizes; if the desired envelope size is not present, select the last choice: User Defined Size.
Make sure the font orientation is set to Rotated and paper feed is set to Short Edge.
Print a test envelope to make sure all of the settings are correct. These settings will be the default the next time you enter WordPerfect’s envelope wizard.

  • Printing envelopes using Word: I draw a blank

The scenario: I write a letter, then highlight the address of the recipient and go to Tools/envelopes.
The new document window opens, showing what the envelope will look like. It automatically opens up to the "Page layout view" (the lower lefthand corner). But if I try the other two views (Normal view and Outline view), both are blank.
Then, when I hit preview, the envelope shows up as blank. Needless to say, when I hit print, the envelope emerges blank.

Open System Preferences, choose Printers and Scanners, and you can change the default paper size, which includes different Envelope sizes. My HP printer has the image for the direction of the envelope. I have the OfficeJet 4630, and am currently using the Yosemite defaulted drivers after updating.
    an after note here:
I had issues with my printer at first as well after installing Yosemite but deleted my old HP utilities, then allowed Apple default HP driver in, then re-downloaded HP drivers, and this worked for me in all formats, including printing envelopes.

  • I am attempting to print a number of DL size envelopes using Word 2010 and Excel2010 on a HP Officej

I am attempting to print a number of DL size envelopes using Word 2010 and Excel 2010 on a HP Officejet 6500A Plus printer in Operating system Windows 7. Using the mail merge facility the printer reports a paper mismatch. Word does not appear to have envelope DL size in its list of paper sizes only something called envelope #10. The Print driver software when I run out of stationery asks me to load more stationery and hit the OK button.
    Questions
    1. How do I add envelope DL size to Word 2010
    2. Where is the Officejet 6500A Plus OK button
    3. Has this problem been experienced by others

  • Anybody use Word Perfect?  How does 'Pages' compare?

For anyone who wants to cut to the quick, just read the question....the last paragraph.
I need some comfort. It's probably normal to get frustrated with a new Word Processing program like 'Pages' after only 2 days of using it so I'm willing to be patient, but I have a general question, which actually appears in the Title of this post.
I've used Word Perfect on my non-Mac computers for 20 years and although the program is without equal in it's sophistication and ease of use (IMO), I do believe it caused some big problems for other programs on my computer (incompatibility problems with other software). I've wanted an iMac for a long time just to get rid of all the problem I had with those other computers, thinking I'd be rid of WordPerfect, which I blamed for many of the problems. I wanted a fresh, clean start, so I sure don't want to mess up my 2 day-old iMac by loading up a word-processor like WordPerfect again....that'll just mess everything up again.
But I have mixed emotions. After my past experience with Word Perfect, it's just hard for me to believe that the WP people actually got rid of all their bugs, and wouldn't inadvertently stick them all into an Apple product. I'm paranoid, I know. I'm asking this question because word-processing is the most important thing to me in using a computer and I found WordPerfect to be perfect, as a word-processor, that is.
I'm certainly willing to give 'Pages' a fair try, and hope it works out for me. But, is there anyone here who uses WordPerfect on their Mac (and with which OS) and does it cause you any problems? Also, in your opinion how does it compare with 'Pages'?

I was an avid WP user (DOS, AtariST, and Mac versions) for years and I was a beta tester for the Atari and Mac versions. I was never all that impressed with the Windows versions. When the program was sold to Novel support and quality became uneven and after Novel sold it to Corel, well, let's let sleeping dogs lie, eh?
Pages isn't WP - it is a consumer word processor and desktop publishing program. Still it is quite powerful and easy to use...once you accept its conventions. That is a sticking point for a lot of people. With OS X, Apple has taken the toolbar and adapted it to its own purpose. Unlike some programs that attempt to put every command in toolbars, Apple prefers to target a smaller number and allow the user some ability to custom it. Apple has also adopted the idea of palettes - one palette actually. The inspector. In OS X the inspector is used to take commands that might be buried in the menu hierarchy and puts them out front. With Pages, like many OS X programs, getting to know the Inspector is key to using Pages.
As I said, Pages isn't WP or MS Word. That's good and bad. The good is that the program is cleaner and easier to learn. It also means that lots of features you might consider important are missing. You should have a demo version of iWork on your new iMac and you have 30 days to use it before you have to decide to keep it or ditch it.

  • Printing envelope using address in letter

Is there a method to print an envelope using the addressee in a letter typed in Pages? I know in Word you could highlight the addressee and print the envelope.
    Thanks in advance.

In the user guide chapter 11 it says: This chapter tells you how to use contact information stored
in Address Book and vCards to personalize letters, envelopes,
    and other Pages documents.
You can get the Pages user guide if you click on Help in the menu. Select Pages User Guide.

  • How do I print envelopes using Address Book?

I am having trouble getting envelopes to print properly from Address Book in Lion.  I have specified size #10 envelpes.  When I print them, the text printed on successive envelopes moves further and further down the page until the address drops off of one envelop and is then printed at the top of the next envelope.  If I print to PDF, I see the same behavior.  I have an HP OfficeJet 7600 printer.
Also, when I switched to size #9 envelopes without making any other changes, the envelopes were printed as though I had switched from portrait to landscape.
Can anyone tell me how to fix these problems?  I am so disappointed because what looked like a really quick and easy way to print envelopes has now taken hours and I only have 3 remotely satisfactory envelopes printed and no hope of getting more other then to do them one by one.

I have a similar problem too. I might be mistaken, but I think it creeped in when I "upgraded" to Lion and the foobarred the addressbook and who knows what else. It used to work just fine.
I have had luck printing envelopes with the Ambrosia widget. Very nice and free, Give it a try.

  • Photo Smart 2610 will not Print Labels from Word Perfect

Nothing happens - no error message - no documents showing up in queue......Nothing at all happens, as if no print command was sent. All other printing is fine.

Hmm, if all of our settings point to the proper tray lets try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03275041&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on. Let us know the results.
    Best of Luck!

  • Can I convert a PDF to Word Perfect?

I use Word Perfect x7 in court transcripts and I need to know if I can convert a PDF file to Word Perfect or is there anyway to get it to word perfect so I can proof and print after corrections made.

Well, it worked. I had to change  a few places on the title page but that was all.
Well, apparently Corel thinks I am dumb.  I have a newer desk top computer and a very old laptop.  Started having to use word perfect x7 when my typist was forced to get a new computer. It came with Windows 8 so she could not use the older version of word perfect.  So, needless to say, I had no choice but get word perfect x7 as well. (even though I was told the older version X5 of word perfect would convert her files on x7 with no problem.  NOT
after getting x7, another typist tried using x5, it didnt work either on my desktop.  Error came up and it would not let me even open the file stating "application not found".
I try it on my OLD, OLD laptop and I can open it, proof it, BUT can't print it.  My laptop too old for my printers apparently.  (doesn't even have a disc drive).  So I had to save it on a stick and print it using my desktop.
I got a 6 page to do list from Corel of things to try that did not work and then they left me hanging (since thursday of last week).
UUUUGGGGHHHH!.  I have been in here all day trying to get stuff done.  Crazy!
Thanks again.  It worked.  So happy

  • Return Address on Printing Envelopes

Hi, thought I'd try the built-in envelope printing feature in Address Book and found another anomaly. The return address will combine your address and the spouse entry - OK. But, I've found that it also adds in the father entry. Interestingly, it doesn't add in the brother or mother entry.
This generates the same anomaly if you select your own name to print an envelope, adding not only your spouse's entry, but your father's name as well.
I guess it's back to struggling with Word to print envelopes, but it would be nice if Apple would clean-up/debug printing envelopes within the Address Book. It's so unlike Apple to mess up something so simple.

    Thanks for the reply.
I went into Address Book (no option to create a new Address Book record in Mail that I could find) and created a new record with just my name and home address. I marked this as My Card (I guessed this is what you meant by make this my home address). I selected Print from File menu in another Address Book record. I clicked on Label tab in Envelopes option, selected my home address. I could see no option to select a different return address, although I did see the other font and color options.
By creating a simpler, duplicate record for myself, I can certainly fake out Address Book and print an envelope. But that's not my point. I could as simply use another application (Word or a dedicated envelopes application, for example) and work through its quirks as well. My point is if Apple is going to allow multiple addresses and names of family members in an Address Book record, I should be able to use them. I've already learned how to waste 20 minutes configuring Word to print an envelope. In an Apple database designed specifically for Addresses, with a selection to print envelopes, it should be no more difficult than selecting specific addresses, envelope dimensions, and print orientation to get it right the first time with no fuss. Being able to modify font sizes, color, drag a graphic on the envelope for customization would be nice, but the fundamentals need to work first.
I posted this question here to find out if anyone else has experienced my issue, confirming this bug in the Address Book, or more hopefully pointing out that I completely missed some not-so-obvious selection that was causing my printing layout problem. Since no one has, I guess the bug stands.
I'm disappointed because when I saw this functionality pointed out today in an online article, I thought I now had a way to stop having to refigure out how to print envelopes in Word three or four times a year when I need to send out a birthday card. It was when I went to try this Address Book feature out that I found it appending my father's name to my return address.
I guess I feel let down. It's a minor issue, and I can certainly create a temporary address to work around it, but it's disappointing that I have to.

  • Default color when printing envelopes on Photosmart 309g

When I print envelopes using Microsoft Word, the color of the letters is green. I have tried changing the color selection  from automatic to black in the  Word program but the color still comes out green. Printing of the Word document does default to black when automatic is selected for the color.

    Hi cpolizzi,
    Welcome to the HP forums!
I'm sorry to hear you've been having issues printing envelopes with your Photosmart 7520, but I would be happy to have a look into this and make some suggestions.
The first thing I will suggest is that you have a look through this Printing an envelope page from Microsoft that explains how to properly set up the program to print the envelope, including changing print settings.
This How to print to envelopes in Microsoft Word 2013 video below also shows a few things to check as well.

  • Solution for printing Envelopes from iMac Pages FYI

    Hello All,
About once a year I have tried to print envelops using Pages. I have been a mac user for 20 plus years, but have also been using windows with Word for just as long.
I try this once a year at TAX time to print my envelops and usually just give up, fire up Parrallels and use Word LOL.
I searched this site and there is no honest to God, Apple Written Solution for this problem with Pages.
You simply cannot print envelops from Pages to an Hp Laserjet printer as the orientation of the envelope will be WRONG at least with SOME printers, although a very common printer.
I am using Pages '09 version 4.3 and an iMac 27 inch running OS X 10.8.3 using an HP Laserjet 3200m connected via the network.
When you create an envelop it looks fine on the screen but when you print it it expects the envelop to be loaded horizontally as opposed to vertically.  So you can't print a standard size envelop from Pages.
I found this solution first posted by Ryan K. in 2009 and it is achieved.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1970267?start=0&tstart=0
There is a discussion which follows his post and HIS method does work and is easy....
Just use Preview from the print dialog (it opens your envelop in Preview) the print from Preview and the orientation will be correct.
I read their discussion after his post but there is a lot of circular apple speak but no resolution.
    Just use the Preview Program.....
(also I have a wide format Epson Photo Printer, and I have tried to use that for envelops and you can't. It gives an error.)
    Just My 2 Cents.

(off to mail my IRS check.....LOL...)
