  • Self Registration Privacy Policy Issue in IE8

We are using Sun Identity Manager 8.x. We face a strange issue with IE browser 8. The privacy policy page is getting displayed twice. Instead of going to the actual self reg page, it displays the same page once again. Eventually users have to accept it twice. This issue happens only in IE 8 and it works fine in previous versions. Has anyone faced this problem?
    Thanks,

Having issues agreeing to "iTunes Terms of Service & Privacy Policy" after upgrading to IOS 4.2.1. I had done this previously when it came out and am just now having this issue. I just want to agree to it but cannot find the menu buttons. I did not purchase my iPad (16g Wi-Fi) new. I just registered it w/ apple recently. I DO NOT KNOW anything about the previous owners.....I hope this isn't an jacked iPad or something. Any help or insight would rule.

I need to recover the lost purchases I made from media group. I had all of the new testament.
    Advisor [4:53 p.m.]:
Thank you for this information, I understand that you are missing some purchases. I do want to apologize for this inconvenience. I will be more then happy to look into  this for you.

Would you be able to provide your Apple ID? This is the email used to sign into the iTunes store.

    yes
    Advisor [5:02 p.m.]:
Unfortunately, audiobooks and ringtones are the only items on the iTunes store unavailable for re-download through iTunes in the Cloud. What I can go ahead and do is try and re-add these audiobooks back to your download queue for re-download. Please note if they have been removed or modified on the iTunes store they may not be available for re-download. Would this be okay?
    Customer [5:03 p.m.]:
    yes thank you!
    Advisor [5:03 p.m.]:
    Excellent, one moment please.
    Advisor [5:05 p.m.]:
I apologize but after reviewing your account, it looks like we have already issued 3 exceptions for you to re-download your audiobooks in the past. Back on 02/23/2013. I apologize but we will be unable to do another exception for you.
    Customer [5:06 p.m.]:
that down load did include the new books of the bible that I had.
    Customer [5:07 p.m.]:
that down load did not have the new testament books of the bible that I had
    Advisor [5:07 p.m.]:
While reviewing the notes, this was issued to add all available audiobooks bought on your account. I again apologize but I will be unable to issue another exception to you. As the previous advisor did inform you to make sure to back up your files.
    Customer [5:08 p.m.]:
the other advisor did not down load the new testament books. The advisor did not restore all of the books that I had originally brought.
    Advisor [5:10 p.m.]:
While looking closer, the books that you are missing are no longer available to be re-downloaded. This is the reason why they were not added back to your download queue when he issued them. Unfortunately, as we do not handle the content on the iTunes store you will need to get in contact with the publisher of the content as they were the ones two remove or modify these books on the iTunes store. If you would like I can provide a link to their support site.
    Customer [5:11 p.m.]:
yes they are I saw them.
    Advisor [5:11 p.m.]:
They may have been modified by the content owner. This will be the reason why they were not added. As Apple does not control 3rd party content on the iTunes store. You will need to get in contact with them as we are unable to re-add this content back to your download queue.
    Customer [5:12 p.m.]:
it is I just looked at it in the itunes store
    Customer [5:13 p.m.]:
the material is still the same. The store does have it.
    Advisor [5:13 p.m.]:
Machelle, if the items have been modified since you bought them, they will be unavailable for us to issue them back to you. You will need to get in contact with the providers for these books as they are the content owners and we do not have access to issue these back to you.
    Customer [5:14 p.m.]:
the are still the same bible books that I purchased at the store.
    Customer [5:14 p.m.]:
The audio books are the same. When I buy it again nothing will be different.
    Advisor [5:14 p.m.]:
Machelle, I understand this. This is what our records are showing. When the previous advisor tried to re-issue them to you they were unable to as they have been modified on the iTunes store.
    Advisor [5:15 p.m.]:
In order to receive further support for this issue you will need to get in contact with Media Group as they are the content providers for these audiobooks.
    Customer [5:15 p.m.]:
I will buy them from another source. Don't say they have changed. The books are the same books I brought. They are at the store.
    Advisor [5:16 p.m.]:
Machelle, Apple does not handle the content for 3rd party publishers on the iTune

You can use whatever tool you prefer - for someone already using emacs, emacs is a natural choice. Simple, easy to use online tools exist e.g. http://schneegans.de/sv/
Just upload the file in question ('Validate by file upload' option) and click 'Validate':

  • Seeking some clarification of the default Privacy policy link

We have just got a warning from Microsoft stating an app has the following problem:
The privacy policy link did not resolve to a functional webpage..
I checked the privacy policy link and found it points to the app's store page, not privacy statement page.  I guess this is a problem.  Here is the strange part:
I handle privacy policy in exactly the same way for all our apps - adding a Privacy statement to the Settings pane.  All apps' settings panes are handled the same way. However, this app has the extra Privacy policy link. Other apps do not.  I do
not know how to get rid of it.
Out of curiosity, I started checking other apps to see if they have the same issue.  To my surprise, the Weather app by Microsoft has exactly the same issue - it has a privacy statement link that works correctly, and a privacy policy link pointing to
the app's store page.  The following is the screen capture of the Weather app's Settings pane:
Could anyone offer a tip on how to handle this and shed some light on why some apps have the extra Privacy policy link and others do not?

  • Privacy/Security Issues when calling Geek Squad for repairs

I am extremely concerned about a call I received after scheduling an appt with the Geek Squad last night.   I received a call from 800-845-6565 from a VERY persisent person advising that they were from the Geek Squad and that I need to access my computer because they were alerted that my computer had a virus.  I told them that I was having TV issues not computers.  Again, this person was very persistent about me accessing my computer to which I hung up on them.   To my surprise when I googled this "800", the ongoing list of complaints that people have written about regarding receiving these calls and they all have happened after someone has had interaction with the Geek Squad. My greatest concern is, how did this person get my cellphone number from the Geek Squad?  This obviously a fradulent business and can only imagine if a naive person would actually believe them and give access to their computer.  Makes me wonder how secure all my info is with the Geek Squad.  This call literally happened 5 minutes after I hung up with the Geek Squad. HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN???  I'm extremely leary now of using the Geek Squad now that I have purchased their 5 year warranty plan.

    Hello marken0913-
I can absolutely understand your concern, especially after receiving such a suspicious call right after speaking to Geek Squad. If this happened to me I would feel the same way, especially with the kind of privacy concerns we have in this day in age.
It’s important to understand that reputable tech companies (like Geek Squad, Microsoft, and other recognized and reputable tech companies) will not scan computers remotely without permission from the owner. They will not call computer users unless they are already working with them on a support issue initiated by you. In this case you called us about a TV and not a computer, we would not call you about your computer.
In this instance, you were 100% correct in your handling of the call, and regrettably some people do fall prey to these scams. With that said, I can assure you that your private information was not released by Geek Squad as we take your privacy very seriously. For more information you can view our Privacy Policy here. It is my firm belief that the timing of the phone call was entirely coincidental.
Going forward, we do have a few precautions we recommend taking in these instances. Never provide credit card or banking information to someone on an unsolicited call. Never give remote access to your computer to any technician unless they can confirm they are a legitimate member of a computer support company with which you have an existing support agreement for the product they’re calling about. Change your password and make sure your anti-virus software is fully up to date.
Finally, when in doubt, hang up and call the company back at their publically listed telephone number. You can usually find contact information on their website. Our phone number for Geek Squad is (800) 433-5778, or you can contact Best Buy at (888) 237-8289.
     Sincerely,

  • How to get Privacy Policy value for each userprofile in sharepoint 2010?

In userprofile application, we have defined Privacy Policy of mobilephone feild as optional, so every user has option to choose visibility scope of this property to "Everyone/My Manager/my colegues/Only Me" .
Now I am trying to get mobilephone value and their selected visibility option for each user.
I am able to get mobilephone value but I could not get "what each user has chosen as their visibility scope"?

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to get Privacy Policy value for each userprofile in sharepoint 2010.
You need to use RunWithElevatedPrivileges method to impersonate user.
To get the get mobilephone policy, you can use user["CellPhone "].Privacy.

  • Access policy issues and daylight savings

I have the WRVS4400N. I have purchased a few Linksys routers in the past and have been happy with their operation. The wireless access however, was mediocre until I purchased this model. This model has great a great wireless connection. I like the fact that I can make many changes to the settings on the router without having to reboot the router. The performance of this router in combination with the cable modem has been excellent. It far outperforms the equipment that it replaced. I will normally pick a linksys product over another brand.
I am having 2 intermittent issues that are really causing me grief and an additional couple of annoying issues. I need help in fixing these issues. I have confirmed that I have the latest firmware version.
    1) Some computers do not have connection to the internet. As if the security policy is confused about the time or connection. I really think this is a security policy issue, but I will let you decide.
    2) There are some computers that I allow a 24/7 connection to the internet. For the rest I don’t want them to have access between the hours of 12a-6a. I have found that the connection doesn’t always shut-off. I have kids and do not want them to have access during those hours. I never had problems with my previous linksys router.
    3) I am unable to set an access policy that spans the 5 min between 11:55p and 12a. In my previous linksys router I could.
    4) The new daylight savings schedule is not part of my current firmware. This really threw off my security policies.
I have found that if I reboot or if I simply goto the security policy screen and click on save settings it seems to correct itself. But, I shouldn’t have to babysit it to make sure that it’s working correctly. When I am out of town I need to know that my security policies will continue to work while I am away.
    Here’s my set up:
    1) I have a linksys cable modem that connects me to the internet through my cable provider.
    2) I have the linksys wireless (WRVS4400N) router that connects to the cable modem.
    3) I have a 3Com Superstack II switch as the backbone of my network which connects to the router.
    4) I have several devices connected to this router: computers, xbox, vonage phone line.

This is EXACTLY what my router is doing...
    2) Access restrictions do not work, PERIOD...."ALLOW" will disable internet access for the entire subnet (regardless of the rule), and "DENY" will prevent uploading of file attachments to hotmail, myspace, facebook etc....for every computer on the subnet.

  • Adobe Flash Player Privacy Policy is written in Arabic. Can someone fix the link on the website?

Why can't I find the privacy policy for Adobe Flash in English on the website? I don't read Arabic.

That's what I see when I go to http://wwwimages.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/legal/licenses-terms/pdf/Flash%20Player_14 .0.pdf (using Firefox 30.0 on Windows 7 with the Adobe Reader 11.0.07 plugin):
The PDF plugin automatically opens the English bookmark.

  • Privacy Policy and Personal Data Storage

"By using this product, you consent to the storage of your IM, voicemail, and video message communications as described above...Your instant messaging (IM), voicemail, and video message content (collectively “messages”) may be stored by Skype (a) to convey and synchronize your messages and (b) to enable you to retrieve the messages and history where possible. Depending on the message type, messages are generally stored by Skype for a maximum of between 30 and 90 days unless otherwise permitted or required by law. This storage facilitates delivery of messages when a user is offline and to help sync messages between user devices."
In regards to the Privacy Policy above it seems that even if I delete my chat hisotory from my computer I have already consented to have my "messages" stored by skype for a maximum of 30 and 90 days. Also, what does skype mean by "video message content"? Are these video messages? There are no options I see to control your message storage outside your computer.

DITTO.  I'm gone too.  I sugest everyone read the new terms, in particular: 3.3 Information Stored on Your Mobile DeviceWith your permission, we may collect information stored on your mobile device, such as contacts, photos, or media files. Local law may require that you seek the consent of your contacts to provide their personal information to Spotify, which may use that information for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy. “If you don’t agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, then please don’t use the Service.” – Spotify So,  since I can't not give Spotify permission, I'll not be using the "service" anymore, they simply don't need access to my contacts or photos , that's is way too invasive and just plain creepy.
