Prob. Objects with same x,y,z coordinates appear at different positions

Hello,
I am having a problem where I have multiple objects with the same x,y,z coordinates but they appear at different positions on the screen. Could this have anything to do with scaling as I scale different types of objects differently. Also, I am using the simple Universe class and the objects that have the problem are added to the Universe when the program is running.
CB

I have encoutered this problem in two occaisions. I have ships that fire bullets. When the bullets are created they are not in the same position as the ship that fired them even though they have the same translation vector.
Here is the constructor for the Bullet--------------------------------
The transform3D passed in is the transform3D from the ship------------
public Bullet(Transform3D temp3d, BoundingSphere bounds) {
     // Create the root of the branch graph
     root = new BranchGroup();
// Create a Transformgroup to scale
tScale = new TransformGroup();
tempTrans = new Transform3D();
tempTrans.setScale(0.2);
tScale.setTransform(tempTrans);
     //create the main transform and attach the shape
transRoot = new TransformGroup();
transRoot.setCapability(TransformGroup.ALLOW_TRANSFORM_WRITE);
     transRoot.setCapability(TransformGroup.ALLOW_TRANSFORM_READ);
     transRoot.addChild(new ColorCube(0.4));
trans3d = new Transform3D(temp3d);
transRoot.setTransform(trans3d);
     //setup behaviour
BulletBehaviour myBehavior = new BulletBehaviour(transRoot, trans3d);
myBehavior.setSchedulingBounds(bounds);
transRoot.addChild(myBehavior);
     // Connect up graph
     tScale.addChild(transRoot);
     root.addChild(tScale);
     //root.addChild(transRoot);
root.compile();
} // end of Cube (constructor)
The other occaision when I find this problem is when comparing the position of two objects a target and a ship.
Check out this web page for pictures and debuging output.

  • System object with same credentials for all users?

    Hi everyone
    I would like to create a system object in Portal, which can be used by users in a specific group. However, I want all users to use the same credentials for this system. Is this possible?
    I've tried creating systems, but they all seem to require user mapping to work correctly. Is there some way I can create a system object with the credentials as part of the object, and then just assign permissions to it as required?
    Please let me know if this raises any questions.
    Thanks
    Stuart

    i dont think it is possible to create a system object for all the users with same credentials.anyways you are trying to create system object for some users who belong to a particular group.so you need to do only one time user mapping for that group
    go to user administration-search for the group-go to user mapping tab-give username and password..

  • How to reference objects with same name?

    Probably another easy one, but again, couldn't find the answer in old discussions...
    I have some objects with the same name on my form. Designer has made them unique by making an array out of them...object[0], object[1], object[2] etc. How can I reference the individual objects in javascript?  I tried the obvious by referencing them as an array, but to no avail.  I suppose it'd be just as easy, if not better, to just have unique names, but in this case, the objects are related and having them in an array would be handy.

    You can try like below.
         var oObject = xfa.resolveNode("Object[1]");
         xfa.host.messageBox("" + oObject.rawValue);

  • Multiple objects with same name when rebuilding index online

    I am looking for advice on how to handle a race-condition in sql server, related to reading metadata while an online index rebuild is being performed.
    The problem is as follows:
    At some point we execute the following statement:
    SELECT
    obj.object_id AS id,
    scm.name AS scm,
    obj.name AS name,
    obj.type AS type,
    ds.name AS dataspace_name,
    prop.value AS description,
    part.data_compression_desc as compression_desc
    FROM sys.objects AS obj
    INNER JOIN sys.schemas AS scm ON obj.schema_id = scm.schema_id
    INNER JOIN sys.indexes AS idx ON obj.object_id = idx.object_id AND idx.type IN (0,1)
    INNER JOIN sys.data_spaces AS ds ON idx.data_space_id = ds.data_space_id
    INNER JOIN (SELECT object_id, data_compression_desc FROM sys.partitions WHERE index_id IN (0,1) /*Heap, Clustered*/) AS part ON part.object_id = obj.object_id
    LEFT OUTER JOIN sys.extended_properties AS prop ON obj.object_id = prop.major_id AND prop.minor_id = 0 AND prop.class = 1 AND prop.name = 'Description'
    WHERE obj.type = 'U' OR obj.type = 'S'";
    The statement returns some metadata for indexes (indices?), the purpose of wich is not the subject.
    When executed while an online index rebuild is running, a race condition occurs: When the rebuilding enters the final phase, the new index, which have the same name, becomes visible and thus results in two rows with the same name (from sys.object). I am unaware
    if this only occurs for clustered index (which is what we have observed).
    We became aware of this behaviour, as we added the metadata to a .Net Dictionary using name as key, and received a duplicate key exception. We have, hoewever, not been able to reproduce the situation, due to the nature of the race condition, and we found very
    little documentation on the subject.
    What we would like to do now, is to differentiate between the two. We see two options:
    1) We could just use the first of the rows and ignore the second. This solution would require that the metadata for both rows are identical.
    2) We could discern the "real" index from the "rebuilding" index. This requires some kind of extension of the Where-part.
    We have not been able to determine if the requirements for either option is present, as we havent found any documentation, nor have we been able to test for differences, as we cannot reproduce the situation.
    We would also like some way of reproducing the situation, so ideas as to how to do that is welcome.
    Can anyone direct me to relevant documentation, or alternate solutions.
    HRP

    1. Use the index with the lower fragmentation to identify the newly rebuilt index (as it almost always will have lower fragmentation)
    2. To reproduce, block the online index rebuild process by trying to alter the table's definition in a transaction (and don't commit, which will place schema lock on the table)

    I'm trying to put a hidden time stamp field on the bottom of all pages of a thousand page document, yet when I duplicate the field, the reproduced fields appear at different positions on different pages. • Requesting license for two different ssystem with same SID

    Hello,
    Is it possible to request 2 license for two systems with same SID. The systems are on different machines and their HW key are different but both have same SID. While requesting license, will it permit to create 2 different license with SAME SID.
    Regards
    Deb

    Hi Anil,
    The one for which the license is already requested is the main development portal with SID EP2. I have installed one local version of SAP EP with the same SID EP2. Now we need a license for the second system.
    If we change the HW key of the original license which is already applied in the main development portal under SMP and apply for a new license for the new local version, can it have any future implications, if any.
    What is the best way to deal with the situation. Is there a full proof way to change the SID of the EP system, which I can try in the local EP system.

  • Merging Log Files with same name

    Hello,
    I have log files with same name 00000000.jdb (because created at different machines). I would like to merge data stored in these two files.
    I tried below approaches which do not work:
    1. rename one of the files -> doesn't work as file header has file name info which doesn't match with renamed value
    2. db dump/load -> dump and load works without error. (i have to dump Entity related Database and Format related Database -- from -l option) However when i try to read the file, it gives error.
    Exception in thread "main" com.sleepycat.je.EnvironmentFailureException: (JE 5.0.103) Catalog could not be refreshed, may indicate corruption, errorFormatId=52 nFormats=51, . UNEXPECTED_EXCEPTION: Unexpected internal Exception, may have side effects.
    I am using EntityStore and thus Annotated Entities.
    Does any one has any insights?
    Thanks.

    Yuvaraj,
    As you discovered, it is not possible to use .jdb files from one environment in a different environment.  The .jdb files use an internal format with relationships between files that form the Btree.
    I'm glad to hear you were able to use DbDump and DbLoad successfully.

  • Two records with same  key (Infocube)

    Hi,
    I was trying to do, in a update rule, an "IF" condition with two key figures.
    IF Kf1 > Kf2. result = Kf1 else result = Kf2.
    But the data in the source (datamart Infocube to infocube) have tow records with the same characteristics combination (the same keys)and different amount in the keyfigures, then the result of my "if" condition is not the expected because I understood in the infocube only exists one characteristics combination. :S
    I was seeing those records in the manage transaction of the infocube.
    Some reason for this?
    Thanks and regards
    Victoria Leó

    This can happen with parallel loads.  Two rows with same set of Char values but in different packets of the same Request, being loaded at the same time.
    It really shouldn't be an issue - your update rule will make the KF change as desired.  Your queries aggregate KFs based characteristic values, not Dim IDs, so you'll get the totals you expect.
    Here's some more info:
    There is an RSRV Test that lets you check a dimension for a cube to see if multiple DIM IDs exist for the same combination of Chars - <b>Multiple Entries in Dimensions of a (Basis) InfoCube</b>
    Output looks like:
    12:02:24 o'clock on 08/25/2006: Start test run for user PIZZAMAN:)
    Dimension ZFM_C521: DIMID 61,215 and 61,214 have same characteristic values
    Dimension ZFM_C521: DIMID 61,880 and 61,879 have same characteristic values
    Dimension ZFM_C521: DIMID 61,366 and 61,365 have same characteristic values
    Dimension ZFM_C521: DIMID 61,368 and 61,367 have same characteristic values
    12:02:24 on 08/25/2006: Test run for user PIZZAMAN:) completed
    You can run the Correct Error option to have it update fact rows to use one of the DimIDs if you want, but unless you have lots of them, I even wouldn't bother.
    Here's the description of the test:
    <u>Description</u>
    This elementary test recognizes whether there are several lines that have different DIMIDs(dimension table key), but have the same SIDs for the selected dimension table for the InfoCube specified. (This can occur by using parallel loading jobs). This has nothing to do with an inconsistency. However, unnecessary storage space is occupied in the database.
    <u>Repairs</u>
    Since the different DIMIDs with the same SIDs are normally used in the fact tables, they cannot simply be deleted. Therefore, all of the different DIMIDS in the fact tables are replaced by one DIMID that is randomly selected from the equivalent ones. Before a change can be made to the database, the consent of the user is requested.
    DIMIDs that have become unnecessary are deleted in the connection. In doing so, not only are the DIMDs deleted that were released in the first part of the repair, but so are all of those that are no longer used in the fact tables (including aggregates). The consent of the user is again requested before this change is made.

  • RE: multiple named objects with the same name andinterface

    David,
    First I will start by saying that this can be done by using named anchored
    objects and registering them yourself in the name service. There is
    documentation on how to do this. And by default you will get most of the
    behavior you desire. When you do a lookup in the name service (BindObject
    method) it will first look in the local partition and see if there is a
    local copy and give you that copy. By anchoring the object and manually
    registering it in the name service you are programmatically creating your
    own SO without defining it as such in the development environment. BTW in
    response to your item number 1. This should be the case there as well. If
    your "mobile" object is in the same partition where the service object he is
    calling resides, you should get a handle to the local instance of the
    service object.
    Here is the catch, if you make a bind object call and there is no local copy
    you will get a handle to a remote copy but you can not be sure which one!
    It end ups as more or less a random selection. Off the top of my head and
    without going to the doc, I am pretty sure that when you register an
    anchored object you can not limit it's visibility to "User".

    Subject: multiple named objects with the same name and interface
    All,
    More than once, I have wished that Forte allowed you to place named
    objects with the same name in more than one partition. There are two
    situations in which this seems desirable:
    1) Objects that are not distributed, but are mobile (passed by value to
    remote objects), cannot safely reference a Service Object unless it has
    environment visibility, but this forces the overhead of a remote method
    call when it might not otherwise be necessary. If it were possible to
    place a copy of the same Service Object (with user visibility) in each
    partition, the overhead of a remote method call could be avoided. This
    would only be useful for a service object whose state could be safely
    replicated.
    2) My second scenario also involves mobile objects referencing a Service
    Object, but this time I would like the behavior of the called Service
    Object to differ with the partition from which it is called.
    This could be accomplished by placing Service Objects with the same name
    and the same interface in each partition, but varying the implementation
    with the partition.
    Does anyone have any thoughts about why this would be a good thing or a
    bad thing?

  • Problem in ADF Tree When I use 2 Tree in a Page with same View Object !

    Hi everybody,
    I use JDeveloper 11.1.1.5 and ADF Faces in UI . I have 2 tree in a page that they are from same Updatable View Object but diffrent instances in application module . When I change an attribute value from one of them in manage Bean programmatically , both of them change??!! in my case I put a checkbox in nodeStamp, when user click on checkbox, title of row must change but title in both of them change?????
    I think it is a bug.
    please help me. Thanks

    >
    so what is diffrent to use same view object instances in page or multiple instances when we need ??
    >
    Actually, this depends on your use case. suppose you have a view object with a bind variable, and you want to display to tables on the same page but with different query result depending on the bind variable, in this case you have to create two view instances.

  • Unable to position objects with x y coordinates

    Every time I try to type in a new value for x or y coordinate, the original value replaces the new one automatically. I can move the object with the arrows but only by large increments. Anyone have an idea on how to solve that?

    Your description is not clear but I guess that you are trying to set coordinates when the unit is set to centimeters.
    Due to the fact that this unit is not a multiple of 72 (the default resolution) we can't use all values with two decimal digits.
    But it seems that it was a problem of the past.
    I made tests with the version 4.0.1 and every values with two decimals are now correctly applied and kept.

    Dear All,
    I have a common entity entity object, that i am using in 4 different vo(only the where clause is different),
    I have created 4 af:table from corrosponding vos, when i am inserting some records in any of the vo then all the vo is showing the same records.. even through each vo is having separate where clause,
    But when i do this with separate eo for each vo then it works fine..
    Here i just want to do with the single eo being shared by different vo of same kind.. except where clause, Also i want to know why this issue is comming on insert? is it normal expected behaviour ? If yes then how to overcome this problem..? Pls provide any good suggestions if you have..
    Thanks & Regards.

    Hi Sacha,
    Thanks.. i read it and found following
    You can globally disable this feature by setting the jbo.viewlink.consistent to the value false in your configuration. Conversely, you could globally enable this >feature by setting jbo.viewlink.consistent to the value true, but Oracle does not recommend doing this. Doing so would force view link consistency to be set >on for view objects with secondary entity usages that are not marked as a reference which presently do not support the view link consistency feature well.Now i am thinking to set it false.. but as doc says but Oracle does not recommend doing this. Doing so would force view link consistency to be set on for view objects with secondary entity usages that are not marked as a reference which presently do not support the view link consistency feature well,
    With what option should i go...?
    go with separate eo and vo..?

    Diagnosis
    Object ZX NX was already classified with the same characteristic values. In class maintenance, you define whether a warning message or error message is displayed in these circumstances. This message draws your attention to the possibility of data redundancy.
    Procedure
    Change the assigned characteristic values, so that you do not have redundancy in your system.
    Perhaps the object you are classifying is not necessary, because it can be replaced by the object found by the system.
