Problem attaching scanned documents to email.

After scanning and saving a document, I use the Attach function to attach it to an email.  That appears to work, but the document then cannot be opened and an error message appears that says an erroc occurred in opening.  As an alternative, I close Reader and open a new email, then use the Insert function to attach the saved scan.  That works, but doing it directly from rReader would be a lot handier.

  • I am having problems attaching files to my email using the latest Firefox 13.0.1, Comcast is my internet provider, but I did not have problem with Safari.

Why am I having problems attaching files to my email using Firefox 13.0.1.?
I am using a MAC, OS 10.6.8, and have Comcast as my internet provider. I noticed after I upgraded to Firefox 13.0.1 that I am having problems attaching files to my email. I do not experience the same problem with Safari, but I prefer to use Firefox, as all of my bookmarks and passwords are saved there. I just like the way Firefox works better than Safari.
I am a free-lance graphic designer and rely on my internet connection to my customers. I need this resolved ASAP!

Could you start by resetting the zoom level on the page? To do that, you can either:
    * Press Ctrl+0 (that's a zero) on the keyboard
    * View menu > Zoom > Reset
You also can use zoom to increase/decrease the size from there. This article describes the various mouse, keyboard, and menu methods: [[Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages]].
    Any luck?

  • I try sending an email and Firefox disrupts the connection and I have to reload the page. Also, cannot attach any documents to emails.

I try sending an email and Firefox disrupts the connection and I always have to re-load the page. Also, I cannot attach any documents to emails.

Try one or more of the following:
    > Restart Your Computer
    > Uninstall and Reinstall iTunes
    > Reset iPod (nothing will get deleted)
    > Look in My Computer (Windows 98, XP) OR Computer (Windows Vista or 7) and see if your iPod is in there.
In some cases (and this happened to me before) plug your iPod in and out your computer a few times. It should get it going. If not, then I strongly recommend starting your computer.

Paste this into Terminal and hit return. If this attachment is text, it should work. Not sure about jpegs.

I do backup with iCloud.  I can't wait until the new iMac is available so that I can once again have my files in more than 1 location without needing to rely solely on the cloud.
I also rely on iTunes and my MacBook and Time Machine as well as backing up to iCloud. I know many users know have gone totally PC free, but I chose to use iCloud merely as my third backup.
I assume that the restore would result in my ability to open Pages and Numbers and fix the problem with deleting apps, but this would also mean that if my Numbers documents still exist solely within the app and are just not on iCloud for some reason that they would be gone forever.  Is that right?
In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

  • I want to attached scanned documents as an attachment.  So far in PDF and Jpeg the entire document appears

Summary: Sending scanned documents as an attachment.  In PDF and JPEG the entire document is displayed rather than an Icon

As long as you used the paper-clip Attach icon, that should be fine.
The entire document appears to you because your Mac recognizes the document type, and displays it for you, saving you from having to mouse around and find a Reader for it. You can still use the Save icon to save a copy of only the attachment.
To avoid problems with other email readers, be sure the checkbox [√] send windows-friendly attachments is checked.
I addition, some email readers cannot cope with any attachments positioned at any place in the document other than at the very end. So make sure you move the cursor to the absolute end of the document before clicking "Attach".
If all else fails, send an email that says, "attachment to follow", then send the attachment right away in a separate email, with nothing else in the body of the message. Some use the Subject abbreviation (nt) to indicate "no text", that is, no words typed in the message portion.

  • Scanning documents for email attachments.

When I scan a document with Preview, and I want to attach it to an email, it will not let the attachment show just as a PDF file.  It always opens the document in the email.  Can this be changed?

It is a pdf file when the receiver gets the email.

  • Blank scanned document when emailed

I have adobe reader Xl.  When I scan documents to my computer, I can view them as a pdf file.  When I email them to someone, the attachments are on the email but are blank on their end.  If they have an older version of adobe reader, is that causing the document to be blank.  I can I solve the problem.

Maybe the document was damaged during the email transmission?  Email is not a 100% safe method; sharing documents is better done using a file sharing service, such as Acrobat Workspaces, Dropbox, or Google Drive.

  • Problems sending scanned documents

I have no idea if this is the correct are to post, but hear goes.  I have scanned some documents and saved them to a folder.  But when I send them as an attachment the recipient cannot open them.  They are showing as pdf documents when I open them on my computer, unti I send them and then they turn into a zip folder can anybody help me please, as I have to send lots of scanned documents at the moment.

Try compressing the folder, and sending the compressed file as an attachment to the email.
To compress: select the folder , then in Finder. File / Compress ...
You will end up with another file with the same name.zip
The reciepient only has to double click on the attachment for it to "uncompress".
(You can trash the zip file at any time - the original remains intact.)

  • Requirement: Attach scanned document (PDF) to a batch

    Hi All,
The client has the requirement to attach the scanned document (PDF) to a specific batch for documentation and legal audit purpose. Is this possible in SAP?
I did some research, but I could not find any place in MSC2N (batch) to attach the document. I know that it is possible to attach the document in Material Master and BOM but not in batch.
The option that I am considering is to create a batch characteristics to house the SAP document number. Then we would have to create some custom program where-in user can search batch info and simply click on the link for document number and see the scanned document.
Please help to provide some suggestions on this requirement.
    Regards,
    Swapnil

I found the config (t-code:ODOC) by which we can activate document management for batches.

  • Problem attaching numbers to an email

When I try to attach a Numbers Document in Gmail and Yahoo mail instead of letting me attach a numbers file it shows two folders for QuickLook and Contents and a Zip file.  Why do they do this.  All I want to do is attach the document I created???

    Hi Jimmeybobway,
I remember tne new numbers files being a problem for Gmail a while ago. It would see the file as a package/folder.
I think some people actually did make zip files of their Numbers docs for both gmail and dropbox. You might try mailing the zip file to yourself and unpacking it to see if your doc is contained there. Sending a Numbers doc thru gmail using Apple's Mail does work fine for me.

  • Is there an app or an email server that will allow me to attach Office documents to emails I send from my iPad? Thanks. me to

I thought I could do it through Gmail, but I can't attach files to an email when using my iPad2. Thanks.

QuickOffice can definitely send emails with its documents as attachments. (Or at least QuickOffice Connect can, which is the version I was testing on) just tap the email icon at the bottom of the page and select the documents you want to send.
In case this helps anyone: note that QuickOffice is one of the few apps we know of that cannot send emails to email groups created using our "MailShot" app. To use it with MailShot you need to use a workaround- send a mail to yourself and then forward it to your MailShot group from Mail, the attachments will all be preserved.

  • How to attach scanned doc to email? (iPad 1)

I would like to email docs scanned in from HP AIO.  How do I do that? Note: iPad 1, with no camera or camera roll)

Start in the Photos app and use the icon top right of the box with the arrow coming out of it to select the photo and attach it to an email - if you are in thumbnail view in the Photos app you can use the same icon to select up to 5 photos to attach to an email via the Share button at the top left of the screen
