Problem in workflow with WF-BATCH

Hi All,
we have a problem in the workflow user WF-BATCH where the validity was expired and the workflow stopped working. we found the problem after a day and extended the validity and the workflow started working again. But all the interfaces related with this workflow stopped receiving the data when workflow was not working. now we want to restore the data which was not sent.
Is there any standard process where in we can retrigger all the data that was not sent during the time the workflow stopped working.
If anyone faced similar scenarios please suggest me what can be done...

Hi,
May bee some one have locked that material using workflow in the background and had not unlocked it. If we are using workflow in background user WF_BATCH will execute the function.
You should unlock that material and than use it.

  • Problem using workflow with ess leave requests

    Hello, I have been experiencing some problems using wf for approval with leave request in ess.
    I customized ws12300111 for request approval and it is working fine. But when we try to cancel a request in ess, there are strange things happening:
    - If the request is in status sent: the workflow gets in error.
    - If the request is already in db: it starts a new workflow (ws12300111).
    We don't want this because we have customized ws12300111 only for new requests. I have tried to customize absences in SPRO so that onlu new requests start the WS12300111, Onlu new requests have the workflow field filled with 12300111, but even like that, the WS12300111 starts whenever that is a cancelling or modification of a request.
    I have also tried using a different workflow for canceliing (WS12400007), but in this case there is an error in ess when we try to submit.
    This is really annoying, I have tried everything...

    You first have to find out how this is done. Look in SWEL, it's probably via some sort of CHANGED event.

  • User change attribute workflow with approval  problem

    Hello,
    I have a requirement to add account numbers to user entry through workflow with approval process. and also same user can have multiple account numbers. when approver approves the User request then it's account number will be added into the user entity in ldap.
    So, i have created a Change Attribute workflow for that account number with these steps as : initiate, Approval, Commit, Error_report
    this workflow i am able to invoke through IdentityXML call and from OIM interfaces approvers able to approve and that account number is persisting under the User entity.
    Problem is: Actually above request is staging system. when user requests, it is in initiate step, when approver approves the request then only commits the info. so, there are 2 stages here.
    When i am requesting two consecutive account number requests then both requests are in initial stage. Then approver approves the 1st request then it is persisting into User entity. after that approver approves the 2nd request then this account number is overwriting the previous one. so, here is the problem i am finding. worflow is not adding the new account number.. instead its replacing the last value in the list of account numbers for an User entity.

    Thanks for the help. Having reinstalled OID/OAM a bunch of times to properly add our custom user object, nothing seems absurd. I tried running through your steps, but I'm still not getting the workflow button. I've customized create and delete workflows properly, but the change attribute is a mystery.
    I did the following:
    1) Selected a custom attribute in Attribute Access Control
    2) Changed its read access to Anyone
    3) Saved
    4) Changed its modify access to Anyone
    5) Saved
    6) Added a new Change Attribute workflow for the custom attribute
    7) Action #1: Request, added Anyone as participant and saved
    8) Action #2: External Action, selected attribute is the custom one
    9) Action #3: Commit
    10) Saved and enabled the workflow
    11) Restarted the Identity server
    12) Picked a user
    13) Opened his user profile
    14) Clicked Modify
    The custom attribute is still editable and has no Request a Change button.

    The file WFLDAPB.pls should be used to recreate the package body for WF_LDAP (this file is in the wf/sql directory).

  • Problem starting a workflow with a timed event.

    I am trying to start a workflow with a timed event this way,
    Start Date Expression: StringToDate("20:09", "HH:mm")
    Reschedule: 1 day
    I save the workflow at 20:07, but nothing happens at 20:09.
    Any hints?

    Wf-XML was implemented when XI wasn't even a glint in SAP's eye. The message arrives in the SAP Web AS and triggers a workflow directly (or responds to an incoming workflow request message).
    Exception: prior to the 6.10 release of the Web AS the incoming messages are received in an ITS.

  • RAW editing workflow with Photoshop Elements 6

    I have been using the following workflow with RAW images in iPhoto and editing them in Photoshop Elements 6. It seems to be working fine. Does anyone see a problem with my workflow???
    I choose to edit in external editor (Elements 6), and the image opens in Camera Raw. I make my edits here because I really like the editing power of Camera Raw. After I am finished, I chose Save As and choose jpeg. The save dialog tries to save back to the Originals folder in the iPhoto Library that the RAW file came from, so I simply choose the appropriate event in the Modified folder and save it there. It replaces the jpeg that iPhoto had created when the original RAW file was imported. When I go back to iPhoto the changes are applied.
    Now I realize that I can't reopen the original RAW file again in Elements without reverting to original, but that is usually not an issue. I also realize that messing with the iPhoto Library outside of iPhoto can be dangerous. Another drawback is that I haven't been able to open multiple RAW photos from iPhoto into Camera Raw so I can apply changes all at once.
    But I can't see anything wrong with the workflow. Am I on the right track, or am I missing something?

    No, I don't believe you can do that with RAW editing. By manually replacing the first modified version with your RAW edited version iPhoto will not update the thumbnail. You will be able to see the edited version if you go to the edit mode or full screen mode. But the thumbnail will not be identical. If that's OK with you then you should be able to go with that workflow.
    If the edits are significant enough you might want to save the new file to the desktop and import as a new file.
    You can try this on a copy of the iPhoto Library. Open the library package and move the contents of the Data folder to the trash along with the Thumb32Segment.data, Thumb642Segment.data and ThumbJPGSegment.data files. Then launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options. This will rebuild the thumbnail files and my reflect your edited versions. Again, make a backup copy of the library before trying this.
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
    Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Export PDF Workflow with Applescript and CS3

    I am setting up some PDF workflow with Applescript.
    On a given moment, as my script runs and after getting some user-input answers to questions in some dialogs, my script tells InDesign CS3 to open the Export Adobe PDF window for the current document. I copied and pasted that small part of the script:

    export format PDF type to "Macintosh_HD:Test01.pdf" using "somePreset" with showing options

    When you run this small part of my Applescript, InDesign opens the Export Adobe PDF window (as expected) waiting for me to click on "Export". That is exactly what I want, since the user is given here a last opportunity to change some values (for example page range, or spreads). When all is set, the user can click on Export to close the dialog and finish the script.
    Problem: I was hoping that the Adobe PDF Preset "somePreset" would be selected in the first pull-down menu of the Export Adobe PDF window when this window is opened by the script. Unfortunately the last used preset is always selected by default. Anyone suggestions or help?

    My operators enter the page range and filename into a dialog box. Then I set those in the script. I use the Press Quality preset to start with and then set the changes I want into a export variable. I set things like bleed, marks, page range, etc.
    Here is an example:

    Please go through the wiki. There are plenty of instructions. Also, this is commonly discussed topic, so try to search first. The key for your problem is that there are function modules to tirgger workflows (either directly or with an event).

  • Using workflow with Oracle InterConnect

    Has anybody had any experience using Oracle WorkFlow with Oracle InterConnect? I have created events deployed by iStudio to Oracle Workflow but when I try to send the message, the activity/function that I create (both PL/SQL or External Java) using Oracle Workflow Builder never get executed. Am I missing something? Are there any procedure I need to run with iStudio and Oracle Workflow?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    When you say that the function never gets executed, do you mean that nothing in the workflow is running, or just this step?
    Is the system status set correctly? Have the event definitions been deployed from iStudio to BES? Have you completed the post installation steps for InterConnect for workflow development?
    Is it just the workflow component that you are having problems with? Since the workflow adapter is essentially a customized AQ adapter, this should run fine out of the box.

    Hi,
    When workflow has been installed, it should definitely say that it was installed successfully.
    Also for WF to integrate with files successfully there are several additional languages that need to be installed.

  • Putaway Strategy I, not allowing second material with different batch

    Can someone please help me to understand where is the problem
    My config is
    Strg Typ 401
    Putaway Strategy I
    Capacity check - 4
    Mixed storage: X
    Addition to existing stock: X
    Storage section check -active
    Storage bin created for the storage section in the storage type 401
    Maximum capacity maintained in Storage bin
    In material master WM view 1- maintained capacity.
    When system is correctly finding Bin for First material / Batch combination
    But when I am trying to create TO for same material with different batch it does not find storage bin - even the storage bin capacity is still remaining
    Also it is not accepting second material in same bin.
    The only requirement to have startegy I is that same materials can be placed in same Bins (sorry but dont need fixed bin)

    You are correct I forgot to mention that in my earlier reply. Actually with out storage unit you can store only one quant in a Bin. So it can add stock to the same quant if we use addition to existing sock feature. If the material batch combination changes it cannot use the same quant, so it wont be able to add the stock to existing quant. If a new quant is to be stored in the same BIN it has to be storage unit managed. To in nutshell multi material multi batch your scenario can be achieved with storage unit managed storage type.

    I am working on payment batches et I have a problem with one batch.
    Usually, when I want to confirm my payment batches, it works et the status of the batch switch from " formatted" to "confirmed".
    The problem is, that I wented to confirm one of my payment batches, but instead of ths status "confirmed", I found "confirming" status et I have only one option: cancel the batch, and I don't want to cancel this one but I want to confirm it.
    This is my problem, thank you foryou help.

    This seems to be known issue of AP patchset level N or below in 11.5.10. Raise SR and Oracle support should be able to provide your patch.

  • Hyperion Financial Reporting server 9.3.1 - Performance with Large batches

    I have not been able to find any help yet, so hopefully someone here can help.
    We have several financial reporting servers so that we can schedule reports and have users on seperate servers so that they do not interfere with each other.
    The problem is that when bursted batch reports that select 100 - +1000 members from the bursting dimension run, the resources are maxing out memory and if multiple batches with the same large number of (but different members) are run at the same time, we start having failures on the services where they hang or worse the server crashes (one server crashed early this morning).
    The Windows 2003 servers are Dell 2950 1x intel core 2 duo 3GHz with 8GB of RAM.
    We found that if we set the java memory parms at anything higher than 1.5GB the services do not start, so all 8GB available is hardly being used by the server since the FR services (batch scheduler, print server, reports, RMI) are the only things running.
    The batches are bursting the report for each member to a network folder for users to access and for archival purposes.
    We may need to get Oracle involved, but if anyone here has insight I'd appreciate the assistance.

    I have come across similar issues where the reports take much longer to run as part of a batch than it does when accessed direct via the workspace. Our issue was that Financial Reporting was not dropping the connection to Essbase. We were using windows os and had to add a few DWORDs to the registry:
    1. Open the registry and navigate to Local Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPIP\Parameters
    2. Add new DWORD Value named TcpTimedWaitDelay, right click and select Modify. Select decimal radio button, type in 30 (this is the number of seconds that TCP/IP will hold on to a connection before it is released and made available again, the default is 120 seconds)
    3. Add new DWORD Value named MaxUserPort, right click and select Modify. Select decimal radio button, type in 65534 (this determines the highest port number TCP can assign when an application requests an available user port from the system, the default is 5000)
    4. Add new DWORD Value named MaxFreeTcbs, right click and select Modify. Select decimal radio button, type in 6250 (this determines the number of TCP control blocks (TCBs) the system creates to support active connections, the default is 2000. As each connection requires a control block, this value determines how many active connections TCP can support simultaneously. If all control blocks are used and more connection requests arrive, TCP can prematurely release connections in the TIME_WAIT state in order to free a control block for a new connection)
    I think we did this to both our essbase and application server and rebooted both afterwards, it made a dramatic improvement to batch times!!
    As a personal note I try not to have too many batches running at once as they can interfere with each other and it can lead to failures. Where I have done this before we tend to use windows batch (.bat) files to launch the FR batches from the command line, if time allows I run a few batches to get a reasonable estimate of the time to complete and in my .bat file I add a pause of around that amount of time in between sending the batch requrests to the scheduler. Admittedly I've not done it yet where the number of reports in a bursting batch is as many as 1000.

    Hello friends, needing some help pls.
    I am using a WF combined with the Organizational Structure form HR to get the agents for each task.  There you go the doubts:
    1.     What can I do or how could I avoid a task for the workflow with no agents on the run time when   the position of the Org. Struct. belonging to this task doesnu2019t have any SAP user (infotype 105) linked to it? Or linked to the respective position , person or employee  because there is a vacancy for this position?
    2.     in a workflow which uses role 168 (Manager ofu2026) generate errors when the respective position has no SAP User linked by (infotype 105),u2026u2026Because there is a vacancy for this one or whatever,u2026  how can avoid it and control this errors or look for the next level in the Organizational Structure.
    3.     Which could be a best  practice to model when somebody goes out from the enterprise and thereu2019s no replacement for this guy for some days but the user have to be removed anyway  and there is no chance to assign substitutes to this user because the only thing that remains in the workflow is the position,  the agent for the task in the workflow makes reference to this position.
    4.     Can I assign substitute to a position from the Organizational Structure? and not to the user.

    This is a good solution but our situation right now is:u2026there is a vacancy in one position in the Organizational Structure and there is no sap user linked to this position and the company has the policy to donu2019t assign a sap user if there is nobody doing this job but there is a release strategy pointing to this position, so We have to assign a substitute for this position. The problem is that I need the user on this position to assign a substitute (position or SAP user), is that right?, but because the policy of the company, I canu2019t assign a user.
    I donu2019t know if I was clear explaining  my problem, I hope so, but If I donu2019t, Iu2019ll try again.
