Problem Management

Is their an add on that will allow me to manage reported problems with SAP (Help Desk Function)? I would like to capture, track and resolve user reported problems. I am aware their is a service call function in SAP B1, has anyone effectively used that as a help desk function?

Service call within service module fits help desk function very well.  It could be used more efficiently if you have complete service process including service contract.
Thanks,
Gordon

  • Problem managing keys/certificates with SunPKCS11

    Hi:
    I am trying to create a small applet to manage certificates stored on a smart card using SunPKCS11. I can successfully import a key/certificate from a P12 file, however I have some problems managing keys and certificates that appears to be related.
    First, creating a KeyStore entry creates one object with one alias. But reading the card from another application such as safesign, I see a public object with the chosen alias but the private key appears with no alias specified. if I import the whole certificate chain, only the certificate will have the chosen alias the others will have no defined alias.
    Everything works ok, I can sign with the certificate on the card. But managing certificates and keys becomes incompatible with other applications, if multiple keys . Is there some way I can specify the alias so it will show for the private object?
    Secondly, I cannot get the installed certificate from my java application without authenticating. Other applications can read the certificate, authentication is required only to access the private object.
    I see further that if I delete the private object with safesign but let the certificates remain, I no longer get any certificates or keys when listing from SunPKCS11, while safesign still lists the certificates. Also, I can't access the card read only to list certificates.
    I think these things are related: SunPKCS11 creates and sees only one object which is protected if it has been created with SetKeyEntry.
    Is there any way to gain more fine grained control over the key store with SunPKCS11?
    Thanks, Erik

    i came up with the same problem. Can you tell me your way to deal with it ?
    thanks!

  • CCMS & Problem Management

    1.  Referring to the CCMS (Client Centre Management System) and reviewing tcodes SCC4 and SE06 for client setting objects. As we know, the tcode SCC4 helps us to review the client setting on whether the objects are modifiable or not, controls on the 1st layer. As reviewing the tcode SE06 we can review the client setting on the 2nd layer. Basing on the client we are handling now, in their SE06 settings, the spaces are specified-cannot be modified. Now the question is, is there such a thing as-by specifying a certain value to enable all spaces to be set- cannot be modified? And when the client sets spaces cannot be modified to certain spaces what happens to the other spaces? Does it take on the setting in the 1st layer-SCC4?
    2.  Secondly is on Problem Management. If lets say the client outsourced its SAP support. Is there a Service Level Standard available? – not to be confused with service level agreement.
    Thanks and I truly appreciate the knowledge sharing from you guys!

    Hello,
    There is some information about confirming alerts.
    Once an alert is confirmed it should disappear.  I think it is possible to auto-confirm alerts after a certain amount of time.

  • Problem managing apps

    In iTunes 11.0.4.4, I have a problem managing apps of my two devices (iPad and iPhone).
    In the iTunes menu, the Apps didn't show up in the left part of the box (iPad->Apps). In the right part, when I delete or move Apps and then synchronise the device, the Apps didn't disappear into the device.

    - You can only delete apps that were installed on the iPod. If the app came with the iPod/iOS then there is no X and you can't delete the app.
    - A Restriction can be set in Settings>General>Restrictions that prevent deleting apps.

    Hi experts
    I am mainly SCOM Admin and working on SCSM from last one year . I have pretty good experience in configuring SCSM using the standard default template/configurations available out of the box . Recently I have being asked to create a new template/form for
    problem management . I haven't done authoring in my life and is looking for some good documentation or video for authoring in SCSM , or if some can provide me a template/form which they created so that I can open and learn ..

  • Problem Managing Custom Paper Size Using Epson RX500

    Since updating my Mac to the latest version Yosemite, when I now try to Manage Custom Paper Size in the Epson print box via my Photoshop Elements 11, Photoshop crashes. Has anyone experienced this problem? If so have you found a solution please?

    Hello Bridge. Thanks for the reply. I am not sure where the Elements Print dialogue is but, having come back to answer, I can see the "More like this" box on the right and viewing those posts confirms what you say. It would appear from one of the posts that Apple is aware of the problem and may be working on it. However, one of the posts opposite suggested using Print Preview to set the custom print size and print from there. I found this works for me. So, thanks again for your consideration. Regards. Brian.

  • Problems managing Messages in ios 8

    My wife is using an iPhone 5C 32Gb, running iOS 8.1.  Apart from calling, she uses her iPhone primarily for Mail and Messages.  She likes to keep those apps clean, so she is constantly deleting unwanted messages, etc.. Ever since we upgraded to iOS 8, however, she has problems cleaning up and managing Messages.  She will mark a bunch of messages, but eventually the trash can icon disappears, and the only option left is to delete the entire conversation.  She then needs to start over, just a few at a time, until that doesn't work either.  Then she quits (swipes off) Messages and opens it again.  If that doesn't work, she shuts off the iPhone and restarts it.  Then she is back to trying to do a few at a time only. This can get very tedious.  I never manage my messages, so I don't have that issue, but for her it is very important.  Any ideas?
    Now a new thing seems to be happening: She goes to add a photo to a Message and the keyboard does not go away, so she presses cancel and then the whole app seems to lock up.  I don't know if this is related to the deleting problem, but it is driving her — and therefore me — a bit crazy.
    Any help is appreciated!

    I just tested this out on my 5S on 8.1.  Open a group message - scrolled all the way to the top, Oct 28 held down on said text - more - then click on said text and then I went down the line and check every message up until today, my trash icon was still there, I delete 120 text conversation in that group message.
    Is that how your wife is deleting the message?

  • EJB3: JNDI connection problem managed server

    Hi all,
    In a JUnit test, I tried to look up a Session EJB from a remote managed server:
    Hashtable<String, String> props = new Hashtable<String, String>();
    props.put(javax.naming.Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    props.put(javax.naming.Context.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://server1.ux.yucom.es:1751");
    props.put(javax.naming.Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "userName");
    props.put(javax.naming.Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "pwd");
    props.put(weblogic.jndi.WLContext.ALLOW_EXTERNAL_APP_LOOKUP, "true");
    InitialContext context = new InitialContext(props);
    Command command = (Command) context.lookup(jndiName);
    But the code already fails while instantiating the InitialContext, because of a connection problem:
    Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: t3://server1.ux.yucom.es:1751: Destination unreachable; nested exception is:
         java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect; No available router to destination

         at weblogic.rjvm.RJVMFinder.findOrCreate(RJVMFinder.java:188)
         ... 36 more
    I'm able to connect to the the Admin server... In this case I receive a javax.naming.NameNotFoundException, obviously, since the remote EJB is only targetted on the managed server and not on the admin.
    This is confirmed by following little test on the command line:
    java -cp %WL_HOME%\server\lib\weblogic.jar weblogic.Admin -url t3://server1.ux.yucom.es:1700 -username <user> -password <pwd> PING
    => OK, packets received
    java -cp %WL_HOME%\server\lib\weblogic.jar weblogic.Admin -url t3://server1.ux.yucom.es:1751 -username <user> -password <pwd> PING
    => Failure:
    Failed to connect to server1.ux.yucom.es:1751: Destination unreachable; nested exception is:
    java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect; No available router to destination
    Does anyone has an idea why the connection to the managed server fails??
    Is it a configuration problem in WebLogic?
    Thx a lot!
    Wim.

    Hi,
    Are you able to Remotely Access any Simple Web Application deployed on "server1.ux.yucom.es:1751".
    Example: http://server1.ux.yucom.es:1751/TestApp/index.jsp
    If NOT: Means Some where there is a problem with the Port...Just for testing Try Changin Manged Server port to Default HTTP Port (80).
    If Yes: Then there are chances that Your Box is not allowing any t3-Protocol Traffic on 1751 Port. Just for Testing Enable HTTP Tunneling on this Server from Admin Console
    AdminConsole --> Home-->Summary Of Servers --->ManagedServer1 ---> Protocol (Tab) ---> HTTP (SubTab) --->Enable Tunneling (Check This Check Box)    Save the changes.
    And then After restarting your Server ... Try to ping your Server using:
    java -cp %WL_HOME%\server\lib\weblogic.jar weblogic.Admin -url http://server1.ux.yucom.es:1751 -username <user> -password <pwd> PING
    In the Above command Use HTTP protocol instead of T3. If Now u are able to Ping the Server means Your Port 1751 was not allowing any other Protocol except HTTP.
    Thanks

  • Problem managing keepalive with sockets

    Hello friends, I am finding difficulty to manage keepalives in my socket-based client/server app. Please help.
    I want to set a socket timeout so that the connection is closed by server after a set inactivity time. Theoretically, this is a cakewalk, because I can setSoTimeout on the socket. I set it to 30 min. This works fine in my local machine. But after I deploy the server on the remote machine (OS Linux Redhat), the soTimeout setting doesn't work. Client stops responding after about 5 minutes of inactivity. My problem is why this is happening and how can I solve this.
    The code I am using is like this:
    Socket  socket = ...;//obtain socket somehow
    InputStream in = socket.getInputStream();
    try{
      socket.setSoTimeout(30*60*1000);
      String fromClient = in.readLine();//blocking read
      //..do something with the message
    catch(Exception e){
      System.out.println(e);
    }When the connection goes dead (after about 5 min), no exception is caught at the above catch clause, why?
    My guess is that a socket timeout of 5 min is set somewhere in the host machine, but if it is so, I have no idea where to check and how to reset. If the solution lies on the Linux side rather than on the Java side, ideally I would like to set a timeout value per socket (per app basis) so that my setting would not mess with other apps.
    As an alternative, the client can be programmed (but have not tried yet) to send a dummy message every 2 or 3 min to keep the connection alive. But doing so would keep connection alive for ever, which I don't want.
    What options are available to me?

    the socket get disconnected once when there is no reply from the client ,so your time out won't work in case there is no reply from client , program such a way that a dummy conversation occurs between the client and server ,when there is no actual conversation ,then the timeout could work for you.

  • Oracle VM Server 2.2 Install Problems (Management Info Screen Skipped)?

    Hi,
    I am new to Oracle VM Server and I basically following the install guide to install the server on a spare machine we have in the office (a relatively new Dell with an i7 processor and 8gb memory) so we can evaluate it and play with it a bit.
    When running the install from a bootable CD everything goes as expected and documented in the install guide up to point number "11. The Oracle VM Management Interface screen is displayed." - when we install it skips these screens and jumps directly to step "15. TimeZone Selection."
    We continued with the install but when the VM Server comes up we have no network enabled?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Bren

    Hi BOF,
    if the network screen is not displayed during installation, the network card could not correctly be identified, and it may be that the network drivers are not installed.
    If you are lucky, the network is still detected and working, but not with the correct drivers.
    Did you use OVM Server 2.2. or the latest 2.2.1 (which includes some more network card detections?).
    Otherwise I recommended getting the correct network drivers for the card and installing them after the server is running.
    Keep in mind, that OVM Server 2.2 is based on OEL 5.3 (respectivly RHEL 5.3) if you are looking for the correct drivers.
    Maybe this thread on realtek network cards can give you some more information:

  • Problems Managing User Access Rights for Web Gallery

    Has anyone else had issues changing the user access rights for a web gallery? It seems like the access is everyone or no one. Are the user rights handled per event in the gallery? I had issues adding events to the user's view/download rights in the publish settings.
    Also, can these settings only be set when an event is first published? Attempting to change the user access rights after the event is published seems to require a re-upload of the images.
    Any thoughts?

    Problem solved.
    I had to put the following lines in the specified "0000_any_80.my.website.conf" file:

    Hello bertoydvm,
    It sounds like your iTunes application is becoming unresponsive when it tries accessing the library on your server. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article to help you out there, named:
