Problem packaging AIR app with NativeProcess support!?

My AIR packaged AIR app doent work with NativeProcess
when I package it like
<supportedProfiles>extendedDesktop desktop<supportedProfiles>
or
<supportedProfiles>desktop extendedDesktop<supportedProfiles>
But when I use just <supportedProfiles>extendedDesktop<supportedProfiles>
Packager complains with Error 306!!
What is that suppose to mean?
Help please
I'm using FB4,SDK 4.1

Are you packaging your application as a native application (.exe or .dmg)? I believe applications with extendedDesktop support (and nativeprocesses) can only be packaged as native applications.

  • Browser inside a Flash/FLex/Air-App with WebGL-Support?

    Hello,
I´m using Adobe Air/Flex to build a Desktop App. Inside the App the user should be able to access an Internet Browser. This part is actually working so far.
BUT:   THE ADOBE AIR BROWSER IS NOT SUPPORTING WEBGL.
Is there any method to activate the WebGL Support so I could open WebGL-Dependent URLs from Inside my Desktop App?
Sure, I could tell the User he should Alt+Tab to switch to an WebGL-Compatible Browser, but it would so much better if this all would work from inside my Application.
    Thanks for answering!
    Stefan

The syntax for the update is incorrect, you can use the update statement as
    sqls.text = "UPDATE videos SET thumb = 'ram' + '''s' where id = 2";
Let me know if this worked.

  • Is there a way to generate air apps with hidden or "insided" swf?

The swf file is very very easy to be decompiled after installed...
Why adobe air doesn't include swf into the executable file?
    I have to protect it.

but it will be complicated for Android and iOS
You don't need any setup mangers for this. Adobe Air for iOS use embedded runtime into package (captive) and you can't build it separately. For Android there two options. Make it built-in (captive) or shared. So don't worry about mobile devices. Just use captive for Android.
and there is another problem with the Air Security Certificate and Digital signature.
I don't understand your issue. When you developing and publish app for iOS/Android - you must use Developer certificate that you must buy from Apple or Android/Azamon. iOS don't allow packaging without certificates. Android allow with self-signed.
, just after the manifest document (xml) was extracted or with personal package.
Adobe Air very flexible. You can use different techniques. For example I use visualization software to create from Adobe Air bunch of files just single one executable file. It's like packaging you app with all external files inside another app.

  • HTML based AIR app with transparent background (PNG)

    Hi guys,
I have been developing a VERY simple HTML / JavaScript AIR app with Dreamweaver CS3 and Photoshop CS3.
I have skinned the app with a simple transparent PNG file (Photoshop > Save for Web and Devices). I have set the PNG as the <body> background-image via CSS and the body background-color is undefined. I have also set the app to:
        <systemChrome>none</systemChrome>
        <transparent>true</transparent>
My problem is that I get a white opaque background showing through behind / around the PNG.
Q: Is it possible for HTML / JavaScript AIR apps to have transparent backgrounds (I have seen lots of info about how to do this in Flash / Flex but not HTML)?
Q: What do I need to change or do to make it work?
    Many, many thanks,
    B

    Oops, sorry.
I was using the BluePrint CSS Framework and it turns out that that was setting a background color.
    Please ignore this thread!

  • Publishing air apps with native extension with Flash CS6 on Windows

    Hi all,
is there any trick to publish air apps with Flash CS6 on Windows?
I tried all native extensions from devnet, but nothing work to me.
I read on Mac is possibility to specify the iOS SDK folder in publish
settings, but on Windows it´s missing.
Is there anybody who has some experiences with publishing apps
with native extensions for iOS and Android with windows Flash CS6?
    Thanks for all advices.

I sympathize. I recently found a native alert for iOS and Android that's working with Flash CS6 on Windows with AIR 3.2.0.2070 but not AIR 3.2.0.2060. You can get the ANE here:
    http://www.jampot.ie/ane/
Haven't tried the other ones. Let us know if you decide to try them.
The sample code they have on the page doesn't work with the native alert. Here's the code I created - it's a document class for a .fla that has one dynamic TextField and one Button component on the stage :

  • Air apps with outside elements

    Hello,
First of all i'm a newbie to air.
my question is : is it possible to create an desktop Air apps
with the "core components" of the apps (in my case .air file and
swf, xml) and as the full application will use flv give the
possibility to download those flv to folder (inside the
installation folder) or to use them from a server online.
The final purpose of my question is that i'd like that my
apps could look if there's updated flv available.
Hope that my question is clear enough bcause of my poor
    english ;)
    Thanks

    Hi,
AIR has APIs that let you download files from the internet
and store it on your local filesystem (though not in the
application installation directory, but a different location: the
application storage directory). You should be able to play those
    flv's from your AIR app.
Using the same API's you can also download a file that lets
your app know if there is an updated flv available.

  • Packaging AIR runtime with app?

Would it be possible to have an option to package the AIR runtime with the APKs
created through Flash Builder?  Say, a ride-along package that would detect if the
given or higher runtime of AIR is installed, and if not, install it before launching the
    app.
For the foreseeable future (the next year, at least), most new users of any given app
created this way will not already have the AIR runtime on their phone.  This would
spare them having to initiate another download when they thought they were about
to enjoy the product.  (No matter how you disclaim it, many customers are going to
think you can start an app right away after downloading it from the Market, because
this is how practically all non-AIR apps work.)  Waiting for an install is okay if the app
automatically launches afterward: this will not take nearly as long, and (importantly!)
requires no further customer action to actually launch the app.

I'm sure it would possible, but consider that as soon as someone downloads
an AIR Android app, they've already got the runtime, and with notifications
for updates already a common thing, they'll be notified from the Market
whenever there's an app update (runtime or your app).
I think it would be nice as an option, but just today I got an email from
the Android Market explaining important changes to the store, and
specifically they say no .apk larger than 50 mb. So I'd rather not have the
runtime packaged with the app, as that adds to the overall filesize. We
already have to deal with that on iOS devices, since Apple won't let us
download compiled code. So you get an automatic 3-4 mg overhead with all iOS
apps. Luckily there's no real limit on iOS app sizes.
I do agree though it'd be nice to have the install process worked out so the
app prompts for the runtime if needed (as it works now) but have the runtime
know to launch the app again once it's installed.

  • Unresolved std lib methods when packaging mobile app with ANE ios7, mavericks, air sdk 3.9

After converting from ios6.1 / mountain lion to ios 7 / mavericks, my Flash builder mobile actionscript application gets the following unresolved std lib methods when it tries to package the appluication for my ios7 device.  These symbols come from code written from within my native extension (ane) that was created and added in the properties configuration.
This packaged and ran fine on ios6.1 / mountain lion...is there some way that I need to link in the standard library in this scenario (that I didn't have to do before)?
Error occurred while packaging the application:

I solved my issue by setting the _JAVA_OPTIONS environment variable. (Note: there are two underscores)
I added the following line to my .bash_profile:
    export _JAVA_OPTIONS="-Xms1024m -Xmx4096m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m"
Now everytime a Java program is launched from the command line, I see the following message:
    Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Xms1024m -Xmx4096m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m
And my application packaging runs just fine now.
I still have an issue though: this trick solved the problem for packaging the app from the command line, but the _JAVA_OPTIONS are not picked up when packaging from Flash Builder, so it still crashes there.
Note that my Adobe Flash Builder 4.6.ini contains the following options:
    -Xms512m
    -Xmx1676m
    -XX:MaxPermSize=512m
    -XX:PermSize=64m
1676m is the highest number I can put before Flash Builder refuses to launch. I'm not sure if these parameters are actually passed to the VM that runs de dx.jar program, or if it's just for the ActionScript compiler. But anyway my app packaging still crashes in Flash Builder.
If someone knows a way to force Flash Builder to pickup the _JAVA_OPTIONS set in the command line, let me know :-)
    Thanks

  • Packaging AIR application with ant fails, Packaging AIR application inside IntelliJ works

    Hi,
I can package AIR application (package type ad-hoc distribution) inside IntelliJ (from Build menu)

You may want to try using the settings used by Flash Builder to package the application, more details of which can be found at:http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/compilation-results-flex-buil der-flex.html
Update your ANT script with these, and try again.

  • Multiple AIR apps with the same local cache?

    Hi guys,
Is it possible to create multiple AIR apps (for mobile & desktop) that can use the same local cache?
For example: 2 apps for iPad will use the same data store (local cache). If we synchronize (with LCDS) and get all the data for 1 application, if we open the second application, can we access the data set from the other application?
    Thx!

    Hi Vikram,
Eventhough I think it is techincally not possible, even if it was I would not recommend doing this. I think this is asking for problems and you can wait for the day that somebody messes up your production system, thinking it is DEV.
I would use names like DEV_Oracle_BI_DW_Base and PRD_Oracle_BI_DW_Base, to clearly distinguish between the environments. But then again, I think Informatica forces you to use different names.
    Regards,
    Toin.

  • Package AIR app as Appx for Windows Store

Has anyone successfully packaged as AIR app as an Appx (or similar) to submit to the Windows Play Store?
The process looks relatively straight forward (To make a Metro Appx Package from scratch, you must first …), but not so fast...
The first step is creating an AppxManifest.xml file, and here I get stuck:
    <Applications>
      <Application Id="MyAppId"
      Executable="MyApp.exe"
      EntryPoint="MyApp.App">
I've created my app as signed application with native runtime.  The value for Executable is my app's executable.  But what should I put as the EntryPoint?  Does an AIR app even have an EntryPoint?  MakeAppx.exe will not run if EntryPoint is left out or left blank.
    Thanks!

this is an old post, but any luck? i know on android there's an appentry, so maybe it's the same?

  • How do I associate a captive-runtime AIR app with a filetype on OSX, without breaking codesigning?

The documentation from both Adobe and Apple says that it is required to change the Info.plist file in order to associate an app with a filetype
However, one is also required to codesign the app in order to pass through OSX's Gatekeeper security restrictions.
How can I get pass this problem? If I codesign from within AIR, and then change the Info.plist in the exported bundle, won't it break the codesigning?

Have you tried using NativeApplication.nativeApplication.setAsDefaultApplication(extension:String) method?
    According to the documentation:
"Sets this application as the default application for opening files with the specified extension.
Note: This method can only be used with file types declared in the fileTypes statement in the application descriptor."
I used it successfully in the past when creating a video player app for Mac/Windows that became the default for FLVs and F4Vs, but it was before captive runtime was available so Im not sure if that makes a difference or not. Also not sure how this affects code-signing but might as well give it a shot if you havent tried it or if you know it wont break anything. If you are using Flash CS6 or CC, just remember to add the file extension(s) you want to associate under AIR Settings -> Advance -> Associated file types. Not sure how Flash Builder handles those settings.

  • Problem starting AIR app from windows server 2003

    Hello,
I have an AIR app that I am trying to run using a c#
    webservice under Win 2003.
I am starting the application process (air .exe file) as the
"Network Service" user which has full-rights on the app-folder and
app-working folder. The problem is that once with the applications
the "Adobe AIR Updater.exe" process is starting to (using the same
user N.S.) and both of the processes stop responding.
I have tried to start the process as "Local Service" with
"Desktop Interaction" too but unfortunately with no result.
I must tell you that under XP and Vista it runs perfect...
Is there any security issue related to win 2003 or any way i
can start an air app from command line.
Also i am interested why "Adobe Air Updater.exe" is starting
    ?

Not sure about  copying eulaAccepted file from one location to another - that would really depend on which user account your service is running under.
A better approach (IMHO), is to open the services window (My Computer | <right-click> | Manage, then navigate to Services and expand the tree) so you can see your service on the RHS.
Stop your service, then inspect it's properties, select the 'Log on' tab, then check the checkbox which says "Allow system to interact with desktop". Apply the change, then restart your service.
next time the AIR runtime prompts you to accept the EULA, the window will appear on the screen, so you can click "I accept".
After accepting, reverse the procedure which allowed the service to interact with the desktop, and make sure that you have modified the registry to prevent AIR from updating as mentioned in:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AIR/1.5/air_admin/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3 d11c0f59823a-7ff0.html
    You should be all set.

  • Problem running AIR app on windows server 2003

    Hello,
I have an AIR app that I am trying to run from a Java program under Windows 2003. (It runs perfect on XP and Vista.)
The problem is whenever I try to run the AIR app, it runs "Adobe AIR Updater.exe" which causes the app to not run. And both the process stop responding. I can see them both in Task Manager. I disabled the AIR automatic updates using the Settings Manager application but it still runs the Adobe AIR Updater.exe file.
Any help to resolve this problem would be highly appreciated.
