Routing / Prod Version - Issue

I have one doubt or may be i am not fully clear about it......
We have materials which are externally procured i.e. F & so there is no routing for them. But while doing settlement; we get error that "cannot find master recipe / routing for the order"......Why is it so? Was there some mistake while costing or how to rectify this
Seconly we have few materials with type E which have 2 BOM's & 2 routings but there was no production versions and while settlement it gave same error "cannot find master recipe / routing for the order"......
We have already settled and closed it but how will this impact from finance point of view & how to resolve them for future

During settlement the cost which are stored in production order should be settled to the FI account. It should be either Credit Or debit account.
For which we have to selecte the appropriate Receivers in settlement profile.
For externally procured items. It should be settled to material account not to the cost center account. Please check.
for your second question please in change mode CO02 . look your prod order details in operation over view and component over view whether BOM and Routing is selected.
Because it cannot tell in final settlement " cannot find master recipe / routing" Error should be in the beginning itself while creating prod order.
Please check again the settlement receivers.

Hi Suresh,
Production Order is attached with WBS element. Confirmation and goods issue from project stock (Movement Type 261Q) has performed. Then it is not possible to change the existing WBS element for the order. For release order it is possible in standard SAP.

FR Studio 11.1.1.3 : You're not authorized to use this function...

Hi,
we have FR Studio (client, v. 11.1.1.3.0238 and Report Server v. 11.1.1.3.0.0301) distributed on Citrix terminal server (windows 2003 32-bit) and on latest 2 prod servers we have this error "You're not authorized to use this function. Contact your administrator." appearing.
On QA server FR Studio works fine, we had an issue there when we forgot to set ports
8295-8299 to "listening mode" = they were not defined on FR server's FR_servp.properties config files.
This is also fixed on Prod FR servers and we have double checked firewalls are open.
After adding them to QA FR servers we had no issues with FR Studio on QA, but on PROD the issue still exists.
We have also checked that this shouldn' have anything to do with authentication.
Odd thing is that we get at least partially same sort of error messages on both working and non-working FRClient.log files.
On FRClient.log there are for example following records:

I noticed that apparently no configuration was run neither in QA or in PROD, not sure though if FR Studio even requires that? HFM Admin Client does work on all environments Citrix servers.
But in Dev and LAB where FR Studio is working fine - FRClient logs absolutely no recods at all and there we did run configuration to tell which SQL db is on background.
Not sure though whether that config run has any significance for FR Studio.
Sorry for extremely long story, but just in case if anybody has faced similar issues and whether there could be something with Windows server settings I should go and check?
Btw... even adding this fr_configcache.properties manually (to try to highlight FR server name and port) it seems FR Client can't find the file.

EDI Output ZB00 not getting determined in case of Split Deliveries.

A very Good Morning to you,
Hope you are doing good,
We have come across one critical Issue where the EDI Output ZB00 Dispatch Advice is not getting determined in case of few Split Deliveries in PROD.
Issue : On a daily basis our Client is generating Split Delivery Process used for some specific customers only.
These specific customers we are maintaining in ZPARAMS Table. The Flow of the Process is as below.
Sales Order -->Parent Delivery ZLF--> Split Delivery ZLS--> Invoice ZF2.
First the Sales Order ZOR is created through VA01 or EDI.
This ZOR is processed via ZVL10A to create parent delivery ZLF.
Once the parent delivery ZLF is created an Outbound IDoc SHPOD gets triggered which goes to the Distribution Centre Technicolor UK to check the confirmed qty and materials that needs to be delivered.
Once the Quantity is verified and confirmed from DC an Inbound IDoc SHCON interface SAP.
This Inbound SHPCON IDoc checks the entry in ZPARAMS for that customer. If the entry is found it creates one more Split Delivery ZLS doing picking and post Goods Issue in one step. This is the point where the ZB00 output is determined automatically in ZLS Delivery and processed successfully immediately.
After that the Normal Invoice ZF2 is created.
We have given the process flow details in the attachment along with Functional Modules used by the EDI Team.
Now the Issue we are currently facing on a daily basis in PRD Out of the Total Count of ZLS Deliveries in few of ZLS Deliveries ZB00 Output is not getting determined at all which is causing a huge revenue loss. For remaining ZLS Deliveries it is getting determined correctly and processed.For Split Delivery we have only 2 Customers.
We would like to know why this is happening in case of only few ZLS Deliveries.
As a work around we have just write one program for these disputed deliveries where it will go in VL02N of these deliveries and save it without doing any changes. This will make ZB00 determined and processed immediately.
We have even check the scenario in Quality Client no Issues at all. It is getting determined and processed successfully for all the test cases we created.
Please could you help us on this so that we can fix this critical Issue.

PA30 - Personnel Number field greyed out - No input help available.

Hi Experts,
In our System in DEV, & Quality in PA30, we are unable to select employees either by directly giving the number (greyed out) or by selecting through F4 (No input help is available).
But in Production System we can directly give Pernr or select through F4.
Any body tell me what is the reason behind this.

It is not the issue with NUMKR, The number Ranges are already maintained, and are defaulted in NUMKR feature.
This is showing same in DEV / QA/ Prod.
Issue is in DEV / QA, The Personnel Number Field is Greyed out, and not able to select any number.
For that we are going to PA20, open the personnel number first, and open PA30 in another window, then we are changing the data of the employee.
But we want to give Personnel Number in PA30 itself as per SAP Standard.
Any Idea, why it is like this.

Workspace ID and single page exports

Hi,
We have DEV and UAT workspace id's that are the same however PROD has a different Id. This seems to stop page by page export / imports from UAT to PROD. Can I replace DEV and UAT with PROD (no issues with concurrent development or testing at the moment) ??? If so , how ??

Thanks for the advice. Yes they are 3 separate databases. I exported the wokspace from PROD using the admin pages and when I import into DEV it fails with :-

Batch determination in production order automatically for component

Please understand the scenario and conclude the results
Few of RM is having Batch management where Stock are lying into different production shop floor location XXXX and those RM is used into one production order of Finished Goods where System will not picking batch into production order , that we are putting by checking availability and than putting correct Shop floor Storage location and correct Batch in which stock is lying.
now the above activity i want to perform through automatic batch determination which will system pick by default in which stock is exist in shop floor location. please suggest me step by step procedures for the same. few idea i have but i need clear guidelines....

Pankaj,
You can define the production storage location in BOM component details under Status/Lng Text or in MRP2 production storage location so that system will do the reservation by default for this production storage location and also good issue will be from same storage location.
Against this reservation you can transfer the stock from stores to shopfloor.

Serial Number History is wiped off after GR from Rework PO is done

We have an issue where Serial number history gets wiped off.let me explain with an example.
Here say a serialized part is received from vendor thru 101 movement on 01/01/2009 and later it some internal goods movemets happened on this serial number like moving from QI ti unrestricted, goods issue to production order, later a problem is found on this part and it is sent to vendor thru 541 movement type for subcontracting rework.
Here there is a bug in Standard SAP program which will throw error for the serial number status while trying to recieve that part thru 101 movement agaisnt a rework PO. so we manualy change the serial number status to allow the 101 movement say on 04/01/2009. when we do 101movemtn all the hostory before this 101 movemnt is wiped off. that means history shows as if this serial number is created on 04/01/2009 when this is recieved thru 101 movement.
This doesnt happen on all serial numbers though we do change the serial number status manualy to recieve the parts from subcon vendor.
can anybody help if you have come accross simiralr issue

This problem can be avoided by maintaining a User Status Profile.
Apart form System Status we can maintain User Status profile for business functons.
Refer T.CODE - BS02.
Maintain a user status profile for the serial number profile, thro equipment category.
For every movement of material statuskeeps on changing.
like for example
1.Initial GR to UR Stock: "Received"
2.Quality inspected "QC OK"
3.Issued to Prod Order "Issued"
4.Sent for rework "Rework Required"
5.Gr after Rework "Received After Rework"
You need not change status manually, it can be configured in status profile accordingly. If you do this you can get rid of this issue.

yes, DRM service runs under this account the the passwrod was chang COM+ apps etc). we restarted IIS and even reboot machine. event viewer doesnt say much. not sure what went wrong.

Hi Arif,
These are storage bins created in interim storage areas. E.g. when goods enter a warehouse, usually they are not directly sent to the final storage bins, since they need to be unpacked, checked etc. So they are temporarily stored on some table e.g. for unpacking etc. Once everything is done, the material is moved to the final storage bins in the shelves etc.
The bins you have mentioned are these temporary bins. For every different process (goods receipt from sales, GR from prod, goods issue to customer etc), the is a different bin (in standard SAP).

An assembly in plant 0001 contains two components. Component 2 in plant 0001 has the special procurement key Withdrawal from alternative plant with the issuing plant 0002. This defines that this component is to be withdrawn from plant 0002. Therefore, when producing the assembly in plant 0001, component 2 is withdrawn from the plant 0002 but the other components are withdrawn from plant 0001.
   i am getting dependend requirements in isuuing plant 0001and 0002 by mrp run
   but when iam raising production order manually order reservations are not getting generated in plant002 .
why this happens ,whats the diiference between PIR ,dependent requirements and order reservations.
why only PIR dependent requirements are getting transferd and why order reservations are not getting transfered in plant 0002

Hi sasiaknth,
Order reservation will be created in issuing plant for components if u create production order manually.
Plese check the "Plant"assigned in for the 2component in the "Component Overview" of the Prodution order.if it is 0002, order reservation will be created in at 0002 .
When u Run MRP Based "PIR" (Demand) for Header Material, Planned order will be created with net requirement qty for Header Material, and "Dependent requirements "will be created for BOM components.
If u convert the planned order to prod order , Dep requiremenst of component will be converted to "order reservation"
when convert planned order to prod order. issuing plant (0002) will be copied from planned order results in MRP.

What issues we may face in installing a new Prod portal with same SID as existing one

Hello All -
We found some vbs script files in the host of EP Prod system. On confirmation from SAP we deleted those files without any harm to our prod EP system. But customer is still concerned about the security of the system and wanted us build the new EP prod system with same SID.
We approached SAP and they suggested to install a new EP system and do customization rather than performing system copy from existing prod EP system because that may still bring those security threat changes to new EP prod system. (we ll decommission the old EP if everything works fine in new EP)
Now I would like to list all the issues we may face in building a new EP system with same SID as that of already existing one and then doing entire customization again in new EP from Basis team point of view. The following are very few i could think of. Could you please add some other concerns you could think of.
1) Keeping in mind that this EP system is in use for more than 6 years, some of the customization could have been done on lower versions. So could those changes be again exported from Dev and imported into new version of EP we are building now ?
2) Can't add two hosts with same name in DNS Server
3) Can't add two systems with same SID in Solution Manager for calculation of SPS to upgrade new EP

You would have to run ipsinstall and install the new gateway. Make sure to follow the installation instruction for installing a gateway.
After you install the gateway you follow the steps in the link you posted to let the server know there is a new gateway.
Then make sure to restart the gateway and server.

Java proxy client logical port transport to Q and prod issue in target addr

Hi All,
I have a java proxy client having a logical port (configured using NWDS) to consume a web service in the provider system.
In the logical port, I have given target address, and logical port name. While moving this client proxy NWDI dev track to Q and prod,
how do I change this target address to point to Q and prod respectively. In other words, even though I am using Visual admin to configure the destination url for the logical port, to point to Q and prod, its still referring to the dev environment provider service after moving the proxy client to Q and prod. What is the suggested approach to take care of this issue

Single-Tier in Dev / Multi-Tier in Prod - BPC5.1 - are there any issues?

Background: We are a new install of SAP BPC 5.1 and initially planned to have both Dev and Prod as a single tier install. In the Blueprint design review, the recommendation was made and accepted to have production as a Multi-Tier landscape. Due to tight timelines, the customer will go-live on the Production Multi-tier landscape and Dev in a Single Tier configuration. As soon as possible, we will move Dev to a Multi-Tier install as well to synchronise Dev to Prod.
Question: Other than being uncommon, is there any know issues with having this current dissimilar landscape?

There's nothing uncommon about having a development environment that isn't an exact macth to production. Many clients that have large mutli-server configurations don't invest that much money and resources in thier development environment. The downside is that when you do things such as stress testing, user acceptance testing and other configurations in development, you really have to do them again in production if you want a fully tested environement.
Also, if you have different software components (e.g. 64bit OS in production and 32bit in development) you are dealing with different service packs and other components that can have different issues. I've also run into differences in authentication issues between a simple and more complex environment depending on how the components are arranged.
These should all be issues the technical consultant that is doing the server configurations can discuss with you. The bottom line is you'll want to make sure you have the production environment setup with enough time to do a through testing before go-live. As far as moving the application from development to production, going from a single server to mutli-server shouldn't be an issues as long as you're using server mananger to do the backup and restore.
