Hello Gurus,
I would like to check what requirements I need, enable to execute the Product Heuristic in the Product View.
I have maintained in the Product Master, under the PP/DS tab the Product Heuristic: SAP_PP_002 Planning of Standard Lots. I have created Forecast Requirement (Planned Independent Requirement) from R/3 and been transferred to APO, however when I tried executing the Product Heuristic button it specifies:Product Heuristic Finished on 05/17/2007 at 15:30:40 but no Planned Orders has been created against the FC Req.

As Mark says, you will need to check those items. Also the following may help:
In transaction /sapapo/mvm do you have anything in the setting "No order without source of supply" for PP/DS?
Do you have valid planning file entries? (transaction /sapapo/RRP_NETCH and ensure "create pegging areas" is set)
Do you have a value in PP/DS Production Horizon on the product location master, it will only create PP/DS orders within this period.

Scheduling Lines not deleted during Product Heuristic

Hi All
During Planning run in PPDS, Surlplus Schedule lines are not getting deleted. The Heuristic using is Planning of Standard lots in 3 horizons. Earlier these schedule line were created based on Dependant demand. Since the dependant demand is deleted, we were expecting that the surplus schedule lines gets deleted during Planning run. But it is not happening.
Please note that the surplus schedule lines are well with in the Horizons defind in the heuristic.
Interesting point here is, in RRP3 view, if we execute variable heuristic using heuristic Planning of standard lots, it is perfectly deleting Excess Schedule lines
whereas it is not with heuristics Planning of standard lots in 3 horizons
Am I missing any settings here?

Dependent requirement grouping in SCM Product heuristic

How to group dependent requirement?
Example - SFG (Semifinished) order created with Lot size =1
dependent demand created - for child part with lot = 1
Purchase requisition created for child part with lot size >1 (periodic lot size)
are any method to aggregate dependent requirent?

Other method to aggregate dependent requirement is to have minimum
and maximum lot size.
When you are using period lot size, you need to put check against
"start of lot size grouping" indicator in procedure tab of Lotsize
in material master of APO

Delivery creation/change triggers heuristic run

Hi all
We use planning procedure '3' "Cover Dependent Requirements Immediately" for finished goods in our distribuition centers. In the event: "Create or Change a Sales Order", we have the action: "Start Product Heuristic Immediately" which leads to my two questions:
1. When a sales order delivery is created/changed, heuristic is also triggered. Is there anyway to avoid this for deliveries (should still work for sales orders)?
2. When heuristic is triggered due to sales order creation/changes, new stock transport requisitions created by heuristics are automatically ATP checked and confirmed in the supplying plant. When heuristic is triggered due to sales order delivery creation/change, new stock transport requisitions are not ATP checked... How come?

Hi Dan,
If you are using MTS scenario, then Sales Order is business event "A" while Delivery is business event "B". In case of MTO, these will be AE and BE. For check instruction of your Check mode and Business event for delivery (B or BE), remove production. Use option "Availability check only, No Production" in Check Instruction.
This will solve your first problem.
Again, for solving 2nd issue, check Product Availability Check for ATP group and business event for Delivery. Check Control and Scope of check decide which receipts and requirements should be considered.
Both these settings are in GATP customizing.

Plor not generated for components during Heuristic planning run

Hi experts,
i had run planning run PP_02 run in PPDS and i am able to see dependent requirment for componenets but my question is its not generating planned order for my components. Please let me know if i had missed any config.
Second point is i am planning to run 1. Infinit planning runa nd then finit planning run ( PP-02 and MRP_02).please suggest.
Third is when i run planning run (Product heuristic its giving me an error saying it space constrains.Please suugest me.

Hi,
With the heuristics SAP_MRP_002: Product planning (plan comp. immediately) , components that are defined as being planned automatically and immediately are planned using a simple lot-sizing heuristic.
SAP_PP_001 is for Changing orders manually. Better choice may be to use SAP_PP_002: Planning standard lots. We use this heuristic to create new receipt elements in order to cover product requirements

I will second Marian here, just make sure your Flash and/or Acrobat/Acrobat Reader are kept up-to-date, as well as your AV Security Suite, and your OS of course, with security updates. No system is 100% secure, not Mac, not Windows, not Linux etc, but by making sure you install all relevant security updates, have your AV products "Heuristic scanning" mode running, and carry out regular full system scans, you'll have done all that you can to keep the nasty stuff out!

Supply shortage, after heuristic run

hi guru s,
i run heuristic (for loc. product). then i c planning book, i c that for every product heuristic has planned, except one loc-product combination (say product A loc B). analysis .... i found that for that product (A), no planning object found(err msg). then i run consistency check, again run heuristic, and faced the same problem, e.g, no planning for 'A', showing supply shortage in the planning book at loc 'B', but demand was their.and this time no err msg.
there are valid transportation lane for tht (A) product . procurement type at source loc is 'E' , at desti loc. "F (loc B).
any help will be highly appreciated.

Thank you for your answer. No i didnt create planned order in rrp3, coz, i dont have setting for ppds, so i m not so confident to create planned order in rrp3 (actually i dont have much idea on apo), thinking that it might change the requirment. we r very near to go-live and on final testing.
no the all other products dont have PPMs in the model, but some of the products have PPMs.
And one thing what is special procurement type?.. I hve planned order setting -'apo order type' 31 (that is 'in-house production' ) for heuristic run (to genarate Planned order), in the destination loc. (plant). 'Model consys check' completed before.

Purchase Requisition not getting generated in APO

Hi,
I am facing an issue in APO. Once I confirm a sales order, I have to run the Product Heuristic in APO to generate the purchase requisition through rrp3. The problem is the purchase requisition is getting generated without the PR number. The line does not show the number and also the purchase req is not reflecting in ECC. Please refer the screenshot. Kindly help me with this.

Sorry for the delayed response. Now got another issue. My CIF model for a Sales Order is not getting activated. I also cleared the queue in APO through /sapapo/cq and then start running the CIF. But it runs for a long period.
What could be the other possible issues with CIF model activation?
I am getting a message box like the below when try to activate the CIF. I keep ignoring the message and trying to run the CIF. But still I am unable to resolve. Kindly help

Automatic creation of planned order in APO

Dear Gurus,
I originally posted this in PP and SD, however, it does now seem to be APO related.
Hence my posting here. Can you help? This is the question:
"How can we prevent that APO immediately creates a planned order when the purchase requisition is put in the system.
(apparently they set up the system as such that a flow then starts and automatically transforms the planned order into a production order).
We want to prevent APO to automatically create a planned order from the purchase req, we only want a planned order at a later stage, i.e. the finalised purchase order.
If a setting like this exists, can we activate this per plant?"

Hello there,
The control that you mentioned can be maintained at a product level, which is more granular than what you have asked for. Refer to the PP/DS tab of the product master and you will find a filed for PP planning procedure, which determines various actions that PP/DS executes for a specifi type of event. There are standard planning procedures (procedures 1-9) and ofcourse you can configure your own procedures as well.
The configurations here define if your dependents requirements have to created immediately or just a planning file entry has to be created or a product heuristic has to be started immediately or no action has to be taken!

How can a planning version be frozen and unfrozen?
A Planning Version can be frozen and unfrozen using Function Module /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_VERSIO_FREEZE so that no further changes to the planning version can be done.
What is Release Profile?
Release Profile is used to release timeseries data from DP to SNP/PPDS. You need to define the DP Planning Area and timeseries keyfigure the data in which is released and the SNP Category Type (typically FA) to which data is released. You may maintain a Daily Buckets Profile it will define the number of working days (working days determined based on Shipping Calendar maintained for the location master) starting on and from the From Date if released online/ interactively or that many workdays of the planning horizon when release is carried out in background. The Period Split (blank, 1 and 2) field in the SNP2 tab of location-product master determines how demand plan is released to SNP from DP (how bucketed data is disaggregated to the workdays).
What is the usage of Period Factor?
Period Factor maintained in the SNP PPM or Transportation Lane determines the Availability Date of a Receipt element within a time bucket (period). The system determines the exact availability date/time of the receipt elements within a period, by adding a time interval (that it gets by multiplying the period factor with the period length) to the start time of the period. You can enter a factor between 0 and 1, where 0 is the start of the period, 0.5 the middle, and 1 the end of the period. When calculating the availability date/time, the system takes into consideration all weekdays, meaning that it does not take into consideration any days that have been defined as non-workdays in the calendars.
Period Factor used is .71 = 7x0.71 = 4.97 or 5 days from ptimizer of weekly bucket resulting in a Friday.
If Period Factor is not maintained in PPM or Transportation Lane then the User Period Factor indicator and the Period Factor value maintained in the Lot Size tab of the location-product combination is used. If this is not maintained a default value of 0.5 is used.
What determines stock categories displayed in Stock on Hand keyfigure?
The categories defined in Category Group ST1 (can be maintained in table /SAPAPO/APOCGC) determine the stock categories that are displayed in the Initial bucket in the Stock on Hand keyfigure. Subsequent buckets are dynamically computed.
Does dynamic alerts show up in Alert Monitor?

How sales order number generated in the SAP R/3 is transferred to SAP APO

During the creation of the Sales order in SAP R/3 an Purchase requisition is created in SAP APO and assigned with temporary sales order and when we save the sales order in R/3 the corresponding sales order number is attached with the purchase requisition in SAP APO. Is there any exits or BADI available while this Sales order detail transferred to APO or during this sales order details attached to Purchase requisition in APO side.

Planned orders created at APO side are not coming to the ECC

I am not getting the planned orders generated in the APO in to the ECC side after running the Product Heuristic. Many times I refreshed the stock requirements at ECC side and also APO side but still the planned orders generate has not come to the ECC. I am just new to APO. It would be great help if somebody can help me can guide/advice me on this.

As well as Sajeev's reply, you also need to ensure that the Products and Plants you are planning are in an active integration model and that the transactional data you are expecting is also in an active integration model
You can check this by using the transaction CFM5 in ECC, enter your products and plants in the general selection options then tick the checkboxes for Materials, Plants and Planned Orders. On execution the system will tell you if they are in an active model or not.

Need Help : Native SQL ABAP dump "DBIF_DSQL2_SQL_ERROR" on procedure "APS_ORDER_CHANGE".

We are facing an issue and want to check if you have seen it in past and can help us in resolving it. Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Issue:
While executing product heuristic on few product/location combinations in product view, we encounter native SQL ABAP dump “DBIF_DSQL2_SQL_ERROR” on
procedure “APS_ORDER_CHANGE”.
We were debugging for one particular product/location combination, this combination has 2 planned orders, and the Internal order number of these planned orders are
given as input to this procedure “APS_ORDER_CHANGE”. These 2 internal order numbers are the only inputs given to this procedure.
When we try to delete those planned orders we again encounter same ABAP dump. There are many product/location having the same issue.
We also checked variable duration maintained on the PPM of this product/location, and was fine.

What liveCache version/build/patch are you on? What is the database error text shown in this dump?
If it is exactly the one below
Database error text........: "POS(1) Work rolled back: tExcept 30730 in
APS_ORDER_CHAN"
You can try running report SLCA_EMERGENCY_SWITCH, then turning off the option "Verify that all input table records have been read" and saving the results. If that solves the issue, you can use this as a workaround until the next time you upgrade your liveCache build.
To get a clear root cause, you may need to create an OSS incident under BC-DB-LCA component providing a reproducible example.

Resource selection in pland Order

in PDS the '01' resource mode is on proirity 'A' but in the product heuristic run system is selecting the Mode 02 that is with the priority 'B'. system should assign the resorce '01' as its on higher priority.

The mode priority feature was designed to be more of a way to restrict the modes which can be used in an operation than a way of prioritization.
The mode selection itself is made in LiveCache during order scheduling. LiveCache sorts the possible modes according to the availability dates and only after that according to mode priorities
When the "Lowest Mode Priority" setting is not defined in the strategy profile, the system selects for the operation the mode with higher priority when the operation:
ends as early as possible at the forward scheduling
starts as late as possible at the backward scheduling

PO doesn't create STO in SNP

Hi All,
When the FC Req is entered, APO generates PReq in the Receiving SAP R/3 and in Interactive Production Planning (Product view) on the Supplaying Location there is Stock Transport Requsition. After Product Heuristic run a Planned Order is created on Supp. R/3 system.
The problem is when PReq is manually converted to POin Recv R/3 system . Stock Transport Req. is deleted and by running Product Heuristic on Supp. Location a Planned Order is also deleted! So, it seems as there is no more demand for production when PR is converted to PO?!
Can you please suggest what should be done to get STO generated and Planned Order not deleted.

Hello Søren,
Good news! I've finally got STO! Actualy, it is not by way I think it should be, but at least there is STO :).
So, I coulnd't get STO out of SO. Then I've got idea to create PO in APO (by setting conversion indicator). And it works! PO was created and STO apperared also.I created SO manually and put wrong PO number (by intention), SO was transfered to APO and at the same time STO and SO existed in APO. Then I've changed PO number in SO and when transfered to APO it causes STO to be deleted. So, it's a normal behaviour. Unfortunately, if Planned Order wasn't firmed or at least conv. ind wasn't set , after Product Heuristic run at Product view Planned Order would be deleted. Is it regular behaviour?
Additionally, when I 've just changed PO number in the header of SO, no change transfer sent to APO ( I should change also some other data in SO to be caught from integration model). Also, when I've changed availability check for SO (to include Planned Orders in scope, just for testing ) I could confirmed whole quantity in SO (not just available stock at that moment), but then this SO wasn't transfered to APO. Do you know why? I'm not sure what will be the moment when PO (and SO) will be created by business. What if they will be created when production of FG is already done? Then no SO will be transfered to APO and the planning situation will be totaly wrong. Am I right?
Btw,what is the way you're using to create PO (in APO or in R/3)? I'm wondering is it possible to have PO created in R/3 and at the same time to get STO in APO?
