Project Costing for Creating Quotations and Man power planning

Hi All,
I need advice about the following issues:
1.I need to do costing for projects so that i can create quotations.
Some times i have Sales Enquiry and some times there is no enquiry.Also sometimes they create PRs rest they are directly issuing POs.
Pls suggust which cost planning i should do.if i am doing Network costing by assging the material componnets to various activitites,but if they dont prefer PR generation then what should i do.
2.The project are turnkey so lot of departments are involved so how i plan manower as lot of cost centers are involved but they want to plan the total manpower seperately,

1. Costing for the Quotation: For you I recommend to go for the Easy cost planning option.

2. For the workforce planning: you can carry out in SAP via capacity planning and if you wish to do it outside SAP then only the cost can be captured for the labour cost via activities in Project System.

BAPI KPF6 POST PLAN COST FOR INTERNAL ORDER AND COST ELEMENT

Hi all gurus,
I would like to use in a custom report a BAPI/Function Module that help me to simulate KPF6 in order to post planning costs for internal order and cost element (layout 1-401).
So the input should be:
1) Version
2) period from
3) periodo to
4) year
5) internal order n.
6) cost element n.
7) value
I found a lot of BAPI but don't know the correct one and how to use it (example how to fill the input value).
Can anyone help me on that?

In additio to the previous I found the BAPI_COSTACTPLN_POSTPRIMCOST but don't know if it's the correct one and how to use it (some example fitting the my case will be very appreciated).

Problem with FM for creating quotations

Hello,
we are trying to use the FM BS01_MM_QUOTATION_CREATE for creating quotations in an ECC6.0.
Following failure keeps reappearing:
" In programme "SAPLBOS04 " in include "LBOS04F01 " in line 711
following syntaxerror occurs: "The data object "IESLL" does not have a component called "EXTDES". "
Any options for this?

To install Acrobat 11 on to 6 computers you can purchase Volume License.
But since you want it for only a month you need to purchase Acrobat subscription.
A single subscription is good for 2 computers and the same Adobe ID cannot be used to buy multiple subscription copies of Acrobat.
You can however opt for Creative Cloud for Team license such that you can become the Admin and grant access to the 6 users who wish to install Acrobat on their machines.

Bug with currently selected and customised power plan.

I have reproduced this twice now. I customised my power plans (the balanced and power saver but not
the high performance). My personal settings are to never sleep and for sleep not to be an option. On two occasions I have returned to the PC and found it "shut down". The only way to reboot was via the main power on/off switch (its a laptop).
Checking the power plans shows that the "sleep after" settings have reverted to the Windows default on the in use and active power plan. The inactive plan retains its custom settings as can be seen.

From your description, my understanding is that you want to change the power plan setting to high performance, right?
The benefit to set the server power plan setting to high performance is for SQL Server to have consistent, predictable and high performance.
According to the test in this article:
Windows Server Power Management Effect on SQL Server, when the Windows Server power plan is changed to High Performance, CPU core speed ramp
up, SQL Server parse and compile time and SQL Server execution time reduce, which will make SQL Server queries run
faster.
However, if power savings are more important than fast, predictable performance, then you might leave the power plan as Balanced.

Delete materials and add new materials for creating quotation

Hi All,
I am using BAPI_CUSTOMERQUOTATION_CHANGE for changing a quotation.
i have 5 materials in an internal table i_matnr.
M1
M2
M3
M4
M5.
i have to delete the existing materials from the Quotation and insert all the five materials of i_matnr.
How to achieve this.
Any help will be deeply appreciated.

To delete the existing items in quotation pass the item number and material in structure QUOTATION_ITEM_IN and set the update flag as 'D' to delete in structure QUOTATION_ITEM_INX.
For quotation change u can also use -- BAPI_QUOTATION_CHANGEBOS

Planned cost for int labour and non stockable material not visible

Hey gurus,
While creating an order with a material, ext service, non stock material, I am able to see the planned cost for materials in stock and ext services procured. But i'm not able to see the planned cost for non stock material and int labour. However i'm able to see the actual cost for all the items. I think I have missed some config. Please help.

Hi,
As said by Pithan there is a problem in costing variant for planned cost which you have assigned to prder type at plant level.
Problem underlies within valuation variant assigned to costing variant.PM01 is your costing variant here.Check diiferent heads within valuation variant for this costing variant.There under activities tab what is calculation parameter you have selected.If it is blank you will not get any internal activity cost.You need to select at least one from dropdown like cost from previous period or avaerage cost etc.Then you will get planned cost for internal activities.SAmething applies to non stock material.
Check in OKP6 for all these and make sure that you have selected at least one cost calculation schema there for activities and material and external.

Create quotation and contact person

Hello Experts,
I have an <removed by moderator> requirement mentioned below:
Our client will send some Quotation information along with Contact Person data from a E-commerce portal to ECC using Webservice. And then I have to:
1) Create a Contact Person for Bill To Party Customer.
2) And when Contact Person gets created then assign this Contact Person to Bill To Party
3) create Quotation assigning this contact person.
All this processing has to be done in background mode.

To create quotation, use the BAPI - 'BAPI_QUOTATION_CREATEFROMDATA2'.

Is XS Project right for Database Schema and tables

Hi Friends
1.As per OpenSAP video it is suggesting to use XS Project for Database objects.
In my case I am planning to do AO Reporting and not creating any UI , is XS project still the right project type.
There is an option for General ->Project - would that be the right one.
2. Also in my UI I am not able to see the Prefrences->SAP Hana Development ->Repository Access to set the regit.exe. I did see couple of post mentioned about it but the response was not very clear , hence asking the question again.

Project is used to group all the required development artifacts and the libraries required for them. So based on your requirement you can choose. I think "General" project would suffice your requirement if it is only to create schemas and tables.
But on the other hand if you choose to build an application using XS related libraries you can either choose to import those libraries later or create using a XS project now.

Firstly from SP7, it is not required to setup regi.exe file. This file resides in hdbclient folder. So you need to check where you have installed hdbclient to see if you have that regi.exe file and configure it accordingly in the Path ( Preferences --> SAP HANA Development --> Repository Access ) you mentioned.

Need OS for old G4 and G5 Power PC

Hey guys, i was able to get a great deal on 4 used Apple G5 Mac Pros and 3 G4's
All of which did not come with a OS installed on them, I got new Hard Drives and there ready to go
I am wondering what you recomend is the best way or my options to make these computers useable,
With my quick reading i found Power PC Leopard 10.5 is the best i can do with these non Intel Desktops
but it my only option to buy an old Leopard OS for $90 and install it on each one?

Am doing fine. Doing a bunch of film scanning and retouching for a rock photographer and helping him get his collection published and back into circulation. Guy's name is Joe Stevens. Was big in the UK in the 70's and New York through the punk movement in the 80's. Came to our town in late 80's to visit, liked it and decided to "..retire, drink and get frisky with the girlfriend.." as he put it. He drives me crazy sometimes but I love him to bits, just a wonderful person to know and of course his pictures are spectacular. I've got that G4 in the living room with a bunch of salvage PCI cards, and of course a real film scanner that runs under OS9, so I have to stick to a machine that boots that natively. A few years ago I decided that since it was in the living room, it needed a stand so built a table out of a wooden box and put the original G3 w/ a Sonnet in it, into that. Ran for a while until it died - so I parted that out and dumpster-dove a digital Audio and swapped up the processor to the 733. It had a GeForce 4 Ti card which wasn't acting nice - loud fan that intermittently stopped working, so video was more off than on.
Not too long ago the thing got to where it was crashing the system, so I hit ebay and picked up a Radeon 9600 Pro for Mac and PC - which was supported for MDD's and G5's, OSX and above only. The firmware apparently was compatible (!!) with the logic board and after I installed the card it booted straight into 4-bit mode! I forgot the drivers (whoops) and used the last ATI universal installer I could find. Works like a dream and now Core Image and Quartz Extreme are enabled. That made ALL the difference in the video. the app to run the youtube vids is called YouView and it automatically scales for the speed of the CPU. Can handle standard def *just fine*. Nifty bit is, by throwing out the old ATI Rom Extender, in the OS9 extensions, it runs in OS9 as well on the display-native resolution, so I CAN do the scanning on that side, and reboot into Tiger and send the scans across the network to the MacPro to retouch with Photoshop!
Recently got my hands on my little brother's old MDD G4 dual 1.0ghz machine. Has a blown piower supply but am goint to crack it open and see what is fried and fix it. Still working out just how I'm going to fit that beast into the table-top.. will need more fans. Obviously a fall project, for sure.

The best practice for creating reports and dashboard

Hello guys
I am trying to put together a list of best practice on how to create reports and dashboards using OBIEE presentation service. I know a lot of those dos and donts are just corporate words that don't apply consistantly in real world environment, but still I'd like to know if Oracle has any officially defined best practice or not.
the only best practice I can think of when it comes to building reports and dashboards is:
Each subject area should contain only one star schema that holds data for a specific business information
Is there anything else?

App for creating complex and data-enclosed forms

This may be a wrong place to ask this but hey i don't know where to go, so here goes:
I'm looking for an app (OSX) with which i can create quite complex forms, and with that i mean the following example:
Like in Acrobat Reader Pro you can create forms, you can leave some text that is considered basic text and non-changeable and some fields in which users can fill up their own data. Better yet i'm looking to allow the user to only fill in the particular fields with only a few options.
For example: Let's say i want to create a mailing form in which the 'TO' field can only be filled up by a pop-up of selectable choices. I've seen this in some PDFs but i'm not sure Acrobat can do that. A friend of mine recommended SQL but that's a pain to install in OSX. So back to the example, when the user selects the TO field to fill up the destination of the letter, i would like to allow him to only fill up let's say one of 10 destinations (with complete address). So the 10 options pop-up in a menu from the field and he selects the destination and then the app does the rest by filling the street name, number etc...
How can i do that? In what program?

Ok here is what i want to do:
I want to simplify and optimize the work in my office. Most of the times we have to create reports or letters which share a common body text. That body text should remain unchanged but there are fields that i want to create to allow all the employees to fill up them depending on their needs. BUT not just fill up by typing because that would be the same as if it would have opened the document (.doc or .pages) delete and type what they want.
I want to create fields but with options poping out of them when the user clicks on it. For example: let's say an employee wants to do a report about a company, and he already has the data in other documents about the company name, identification codes, address etc...Usually you work with multiple opened documents and copy/paste the required contents from one document to another. But i figured there has to be an easier way if a system can be implemented when the user can work on directly made templates for each task and type only the fields that need to be changed. I vision the process as a user completes some fields in a browser. When you type in the address bar of your browser "you" it automatically pops out a list of possible sites from which i can mention youtube.com and others. Now i understand that there has to be created a database first so that my employees and colleagues can fill 'from' but i'm willing to do that if on the long term it speeds up the work flow.
Another example is body text that need to be changed only by two values (words) much like numeric values 1 and 0. For example yes or no. Click on the field, pops up yes or no option. Click on the desired option and you're done. Print it, email it and job well done.
Is this a bit more clear about what i'm trying to achieve?
