Proxy server with user/password

Hello,
I'm trying to use Jdev behind a firewall with ip + port + USERNAME + PASSWORD
How configure Jdev to work with this firewall
Option Preference Proxy does not give the choice of login/password preference...
Is there a config file where I can set my preferences?
Thank you

It is possible to configure the proxy host, port and exclude list via system properties, but not the authentication information.
To implement proxy authentication, you must add code to each place in your application where you use a URLConnection. In response to a status 407 response (Proxy Authentication Required), you must resend the request with a Proxy-Authorization header.
This is not trivial, since the content of the Proxy-Authorization header is dependent on the authentication scheme being used by the proxy. There are a number of different authentication schemes used by popular proxy servers. For instance, many people use a Microsoft proxy server which uses a proprietary authentication encoding mechanism known as NTLM to support authentication using Windows domain username / password combinations.
Anyway, this is why it's pretty hard to support username/password proxy authentication in Java applications, and hence why it's frequently not supported in apps like JDeveloper. Support for this is logged as an enhancement request, and we will eventually implement a solution.
Thanks,
Brian

  • Use port 50013 (Management Console) with User/password

    Hello,
I have a problem. We had a security auditory of SAP systems. They have seen that the port 50013 (Management Console) has not any security with user /password.
Is there a way to put a security before the information?
    Best Regards.
    Pablo Mortera.

    Hi Pablo
The SAP Managment Console is a UI (Applet) to access the functionality of the sapstartsrv process, This process is used for montioring and administration of SAP instances and listens on port 5nn13 (or 5nn14 for https)
It is expected that you can access the UI without authentication but to carry out administrative functions (which are sapstartsrv webservice method calls) , such as shutting down an instance for example, authentication is required.
By default only the most critical of these web service methods require authentication but the list of protected webmethods can be modified. Please see note 927637 for more details

  • How do I specify a particular Proxy Server, port, user-ID and password for file downloads

We are attempting to deploy Creative Cloud trial applications to a couple of users for testing purposes.
This is a corporate environment where we need to specify a particular proxy server by IP address, and port with a User-ID and password for identification in order to download files.
The Creative Cloud app appears to be ignoring the proxy settings in the browsers installed on the machine used to attempt a download. The Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition wants you to already have the files available.  All technical support had is a white list, no help on how to specify a particular proxy server.  Do we have to obtain media from Adobe, or is there a way to download these?
    Thanks

  • Webclipping via proxy server with autorization

I am using a proxy server that requires authorization to access web pages. How can I configure the web clipping tool to use username and password during the authorization with the proxy server? The wireless portal configuration page has an option to define this username/pwd pair but it seems not to be used by the web clipping tool according to the application logs (DEBUG WcsTxLiaison: setupProxyAuthorization host = *******, user = null, scheme = null). I tried to access the web clipping tool by logging in on the hostname/webtools/login.uix page with both the orcladmin or my private username and navigating to the "services" tab and clicking on the "web clipping" tool link.

  • Unable to use proxy server with MAC OS X Anyconnect client

    Hi All,
I have a VPN setup thru a Cisco 5520, Windows clients connect just find and the end users configure there browser to use our internal proxy servers.   Users with the MAC OS X Anyconnect client can connect, they configure their Mac to use our proxy server, but the broswers will not work, clients can reach networks and resources behind the VPN gateway and have access to the Proxy(Tried a telnet to that hostname/port).  Anyone run into this issue before?  I am running ASA 8.3(2), Anyconnect(OS X) 3.1.01065.
    Thank You

    We had the same problem.
We are behind government firewall so I don't know which Cisco firewall is used but we are using AnyConnect to establish VPN from internet to LAN behind firewall. We have no problems with Windows. With Mac OS X connection through proxy didn't work with Safari and Chrome (both are using system Proxy setting), but it did work with Firefox (which has it's own Proxy).
Finally we found out that ethernet MTU size was the culprit. When we set it to manual, with size being 1347 (or less), proxy started to work.

  • Configuring a proxy server with username and passw...

    Dear All,
There is one thing which I have found in all the Nokia phones I have had until now which I find very disappointing:
A proxy server can be set BUT a username and password for it cannot.
In the case of trying to connect to the Internet outside a corporate network normally a proxy connection with username and password has to be entered.
I can enter the proxy server on my Nokia phone but there is no place to enter a username and password in order to authenticate in front of the proxy server.
Does Nokia think about adding this functionality, which, if I may say, has been in Windows Mobile since quite some time.
If not for all phones, at least for the E series which are intended to be used in secure business networks.
In the current situation I can use the corporate Wi-Fi to check my Exchange email which is great, but when I need to access something outside the corporate network I have to use the 3G network.
So two question arise from the above:
    1. Will Nokia at some point implement Proxy Server Authentication? (Or maybe I'm not able to find it)
    2. Is there any application which allows Proxy Server Authentication to be used when connecting to the Internet?
Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hi,
    You can do:
    username:password@proxyservername

  • Server & Messages User Passwords / jabber:hosts

    Hello,
I have previously changed my virtual host name, and am trying to reconfigure the local server on a Macbook Pro
Although I currently don't have any users connecting using Jabber, I would like to check some of the related settings.
Currently in Server 4.0.3 my current settings show:
    Host Name: jmzxmbp.jamoosi
    Computer Name: JMZXMBP
Could anyone describe what these two values should typically be?
    jabber:hostsCommaDelimitedString = "jmzxmbp2.local"
    jabber:hosts:_array_index:0 = "jmzxmbp2.local"
Would these settings still include 'local' as part of the string if 'local' was previously part of the host name, after changing from '.local' to a domain name)?

    Hi
Archive the LDAP Database, do the upgrade/install to Leopard. Make sure your DNS config is the same as it was when the server was 10.4.11. Spend time on this and test this thoroughly. In fact don’t start any other service until you have this as it should be. Promote to OD Master, use the same details for the Directory Administrator (diradmin) account that you used before and restore the LDAP Database. All Users, Groups, Computer Lists, MCX and passwords should be retained.
The manual is correct in saying that Users passwords are not retained when exporting from WGM. However it should not be a problem (if the first method does not work) to select all relevant users and define a policy forcing users to change their passwords next time they login. Saves you the finger work. You could also inform your users what you wish them to use or the form the passwords should take.
    Hope this helps, Tony

  • How do you stop my iphone keep asking for my works proxy server name and password

how do you stop my iphone keep asking for my works proxy server name and password

Having been in IT for close to 30 years what they actually thought was, "whether you can connect your phone to our network isn't out problem, please go away".
They don't want to troubleshoot it. And, honestly, if it's your personal phone, they shouldn't have to. it's not their problem unless their boss says it is.

  • [solved] Sudo works with user password instead of admin password.

When i do a sudo command, it asks for a password. I enter my normal user password, and it works!
It doesn't work if I enter root password. Is this normal?

  • Proxy settings with user and password

How can I configure the proxy settings if our proxy requests user and password.

We have a proxy configuration that requieres the input of an user and a password. If we try to update the Creator, we get the error 'Unable to connect to the Update Center Server. Check proxy settings ...'.
If I remember well, the first time I tried the update feature, I think I got a pop up window to input the user and the password for the proxy. But now I get always the error message. If we shut down the proxy it works fine.
Today I tried the 'GoogleSearch' demo application and the same problen occures.
    Thanks for information

  • Problems with user passwords

Hello All, I'm learning how to use databases at the moment and came across something that caused many headaches for me. It was enough for me to post this to see what others out there thought about the issue, if it is even an issue at all.
Ill try to be concise but as short as possible.
    Background:
    Installed Oracle 10g XE
Created a new user using the database homepage
    New user details:
    User: dan
Pass: (the password was fairly 'random' it happen to start with @)
When i opened CMD within vista OS and typed sqlplus the application opened successfully.
The username and password were entered and i recieved the text below as the response.
    Enter user-name: dan
    Enter password: @*******
    SP2-0306: Invalid Option
    Usage: blah blah
It turns out that it was my password that was holding me back, i created a new user with u/p dan/dan and it worked fine. The @ symbol is all i could put it down to, but no where at any point during the creation of the user did it complain about the use of @. But perhaps i was using the system wrong? Enter user name, enter password, seems simple enough.
If this is not a bug of sorts then the error message was very confusing and misleading because i believed i had set it up correctly.
    This can be reproduced.
I know there is some really smart dba's out there, what are your thoughts?
    Thanks

No belief necessary. Passwords follow object naming rules.
Nonquoted identifiers must begin with an alphabetic character from your database character set. Quoted identifiers can begin with any character.
Nonquoted identifiers can contain only alphanumeric characters from your database character set and the underscore (_), dollar sign ($), and pound sign (#). Database links can also contain periods (.) and "at" signs (@). Oracle strongly discourages you from using $ and # in nonquoted identifiers.
Quoted identifiers can contain any characters and punctuations marks as well as spaces. However, neither quoted nor nonquoted identifiers can contain double quotation marks or the null character (\0).

  • Can't synch iCal to Server with "Crypt" password

We are using a Mac OS X (Xserve 10.5.1) server for account management, iCal, wiki, mail and files. Because of compatibility reasons to our linux servers, we changed the password type of the User account from "Open Directory" to "Crypt". The first problem after that was to get access to the wiki but we solved this finally by using:
    "serveradmin settings teams:enableClearTextAuth = yes"
But we can't connect to the iCal Server via iCal. That seems to require a kerberos account and we couldn't find any option how to tell calendar to accept clear text auth as well ("serveradmin settings calendar:enableClearTextAuth = yes" didn't worked).
Unfortunately we can't find any detailed information about possible options for serveradmin.
    Any ideas or suggestions?
    Moritz

I found that same thing but had different results. I edited the file ( /etc/caldavd/caldavd.plist ) that holds that information at the command line and restarted but it still wouldn't work. Anyone trying to get this to work should make sure they have a fresh install. I formatted the server, reinstalled 10.5.2 server, and then made the modifications. Voila!!! Also, I will post info on how I got Calendar server working with Fedora Directory Server as the main authentication authority. It has taken me about 2 weeks to get it all working but it works pretty good now. So now I am mostly free from using Open Directory Woo Hoo!!!

  • IPhone can connect to Exchange Server with incorrect password!

I have changed my Active Directory password, but have not entered the new password into the Exchange account settings on my iPhone. Nevertheless, my iPhone can still connect and get mail from Exchange. Thinking that perhaps it was because the iPhone was still working with a connection that had been established before I changed my password, I turned it off and turned it back on again -- and it connected and got new mail!

Don't blame the phone just yet.
The server is where the problem is..... The Exchange Server/IIS front end is the gatekeeper to your email. If the password is sent wrong, the server will reject you. Conversely, if your Exchange server is not authenticating at all, it will let anyone in.
What is probably happening is that your password has not synchronized from AD to Exchange. This is not unheard of, but if it persists you should let your Sys Admin know.
My guess is that you can log into your OWA (Web mail) with your old password as well.
