Pse 11 download

I am trying to download pse 11 on mac I keep getting the following error at install.  Installer failed to initiate.  Please download adobe support advisor to detect the problem.

Do you mean "download" or "install"? To download is to get something from the internet, so is the problem in downloading the file or running the installer? If you meant "install", is this from a disc or a download version? What files are you double clicking to start the installation and what version of OS X are you running?

  • PSE7 Newbie - Sorting and Renaming using the PSE Downloader

Somewhere along the lines of installing PSE7 and playing with Elements, whenever I plug a camera memory card reader into my computer, one of the options that now appears is a PSE Downloader option (I have always used Windows Explorer for that operation up until now).
I like the options of creating new folders and file names on importing, but have a couple of problems.
#1 - I have both JPEGs and RAW images on the memory card.  On my wife's laptop, I just want to import the JPEGs.  Although you can select the pictures you want to import with little check marks, the Importer does not seem to allow me to sort the JPEGs all together.  I obviously don't want to go through the list of photos, to select maybe 200 individual JPEGS.  So is there any way to sort the displayed pictures so that I can easily select all of the JPEGs all at once.
#2 - I am saving the RAWs on my desktop.  It seems to me that it is easier to keep track of the pictures if I just use the original DSC.... name, but I like the option of adding the Date Shot to the file name.  However, there seems to be no option for Date + Original Name.  Is there any way to do this, get the Original name plus the Date as the file name.
As kind of a side question, is the original picture name (the DSC. . . .) saved with the picture, no matter what (i.e. buried somewhere in the EXIF information) or is the name gone forever if I rename the picture.  And if it is still there, is there a way to get at it, easily.
What I am getting at here is if my wife has one name of the JPEG on her computer and we want to locate the same RAW picture on my computer, is there an easy way to do that.  I am worried about being able to link these pictures together -- is there an easy way to do this.

  • PSE download for Mac?

I have used the cd for Windows. I would like to install same on Mac but Mac does not have CD player. Is there a download available so I don't have to purchase CD player for this?

Yes, if this is PSE 12, just download the trial and enter the serial number into that. (Save the download in case you need to reinstall it sometime.)

  • PSE Downloader/Organizer Crashes on iMac

Recently downloaded PE 12; installed after PE 12 disk failed to install properly on my iMac (mid-2010 version running OSX 10.9.4.  Downloader crashes when downloading Nikon RAW 14 bit files (D7100) except when very few on SDHC card.  Thumbnails are there on restart but then can't delete files from card with Downloader.  Organizer slow to load and also crashes frequently.  PSE 9 & 11 both ran without difficulty on this computer.  Is there a remedy?

First go to the editor>help>updates and update to 12.1. if you don't have it yet. Then I would start the organizer while holding down the shift key to bring up the catalog manager and repair and optimize your catalog.

  • Help with PSE Downloader

Help...my Get Photos button is down too low.  It is below my lower tool bar.  I have tried everything, including open full screen, reduce and try to shrink the size of the window, drag the reduced window higher..none work.
I have close my lower tool bar.. move the window up to where the top strip of it is under the upper tool bar and then I can get to my button.  It has not always been this way..I think it started after I enlarged my display once for something I was working on and now it won't work properly.
Like I said, I can make it work, but it a royal pain to do.  Any ideas?

You don't say which version of PSE.  But if you have 6 or 7, try reseting the Organizer's preferences (which save various window positions):

  • Auto Downloader - PSE 7.0

I see that the Auto Downloader issue (where it went wild downloading everything when a card or other device was plugged in with previous versions) is fixed in PSE 7.0. It now only works automatically if you ask it to and that's great! If you set it up to work automatically and you no longer want that, how do you turn it off?
    Thanks!
    Beverly

    Beverly,
    > If you set it up to work automatically and you no longer want that, how do you turn it off?
Im not sure what you mean by automatically.
You can tell Windows Autoplay to always invoke the PSE downloader when you connect your card or camera. If you want to undo that, then on Vista you can go to Windows Control Panel > Autoplay. I think its somewhat different on XP, but I dont remember the details. (I always find Autoplay confusing, and Microsoft cant ever seem to get it right).
Once Autoplay has started the downloader, it has an option to starting downloading photos automatically using your current settings. You can change that option by connecting your camera or card reader, doing File > Get Photos > From Camera Or Card Reader, select your camera/card in the menu Get Photos From, and then setting/unsetting the Automatic Download option.

  • Can't get PSE 10 Downloader to Open for ALL CF Cards

I have 4 identical CF cards. Two of them when plugged into the card reader on the computer open PSE downloader just fine. The other two when plugged into the card reader do NOTHING. The downloader does not open. If I place these two cards in my camera or a external card reader then connect thru a USB port the PSE downloader opens just fine.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how I can fix it so I am able to plud all the cards into the computer's card reader directly? Is it a problem with the cards, the card reader on the computer or maybe settings?

The only other suggestion is to check your preference settings.
    From the organizer menu click:
Edit >> Preferences >> Camera or Card Reader
Highlight the current generic setting and click the edit button.
There are three choices. Try experimenting with each setting.
On the Mac use the Photoshop Elements menu rather than the Edit menu.
If that makes no difference then I suspect the problem could be down to different card/camera manufacturers. Some devices identify themselves as a fixed drive (same as a hard drive) instead of removable media. Adobe Photo Downloader isn't compatible with fixed drives. In that case you will need to copy the files directly to a folder on the hard drive and use:
Choose File >> Get Photos & Videos >> From Files and Folders.

After all, I have 2 other PSE downloads. Why wouldn't it work now? Always something. Thanks in advance

  • Photoshop Elements 9 Downloader crash with video clips on memory card

I have a Canon SX30IS. When I use PSE9 to download from memory card, if there are any videos present on the card, the Photo Downloader crashes.
I believe that it is something to do with Apple Quicktime. When I uninstall Quicktime , PSE downloader does not crash while importing media form this camera,  but cannot play video clips. On reinstalling Quicktime , the PSE downloader crashes while searching the memory card for media.
I have not upgraded PSE twice now because of this crash. What makes it worse is that Apple Quicktime is a very poor media player, managing about 2FPS on the video clips from this camera when both the Canon and the VLC video codecs can manage 30FPS.
I would much prefer if I could choose to use a video renderer, like using any available Windows codecs rather than insisting on using annoying Apple software.

Please let  me know the mode in which camera/card reader is connected to the system (USB/PTP/MTP). This can be determined from camera.
    Please try to follow:
    1. Navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 9 Organizer\PhotoDownloader.exe.
    2. Right click on 'PhotoDownloader.exe' and select 'Properties'.
    3. Naviage to 'compatability' tab and click on 'Run this program in comptability mode for' and select 'win xp service pack 3'.
    4. In the same dialog, click on 'Run this program as an admin' under 'privelage level'.
    5. Now run the: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 9 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe as an administrator.
Please let me know if you face any issues in following the steps.

  • PSE 9 Nightmare

Sorry Adobe but downloading and installing PSE 9 has been a freaking nightmare. I needed two chat sessions to get the program downloaded. Then I find that it's a 7-Zip file that I had to get a program to extract the files. Now that I have the files extracted "setup.exe" starts and then quits without installing the program. It used to be so simple. Buy PSE, download PSE, install PSE. Why does it have to be so convoluted a process now?

Good question. If I had to guess, I'd guess it has something to do with security, but why it has to do with security is a mystery to me. I'm with you, why can't it be simple: buy PSE, download PSE, and then use PSE?

  • The File Menu options is missing in PSE v9?

I called support a year or more ago and they provided a fix.  This was after i first upgraded.  Now I have had to reinstall the OS on my PC and re-install PSE downloaded from site.
No File menu!  Can you Help?

Lots of information.  But it noe of it provided a solution to my problem.  In fact I had the problem of no File menu when I first bought PSE 9.
As a new customer for that version, I was eligble for support via a live person.
They gave me a fix and voila!  There was the file menue with about a dozen menu options including seach, get photos from camera, import, export, create new catalog, and more.
I did not forsee that my system would eventually crash and require a re-image.  And new install of PSE.  When I did so the file functionality was missing again but I did not save the instructions.  Been a little over a year.

  • Photo Downloader and .nef files

I can no loner import .nef files via the Photo Downloader. It is only importing .jpg which I rarely shoot. How can I change this?
    Thank you

Several users have reported problems with NEF files. This is often due to usage in Nikon software e.g. older versions of Nikon Transfer which can corrupt the raw files. I assume this is not the case and you are simply using the PSE downloader? I can only suggest you copy to a folder and then to try importing directly. PSE11 is certainly compatible with your camera; so I'm glad you got the update to work.

  • Licensing for PSE has stopped working

Hallo dear Adobe Team, before I bought "Photoshopelement" and at the moment I cannot open it anymore. The Error shows"150:30". Can you please tell me what I can do? Besides, I cannot find the disk for this software anymore...
    Thank you in advance!

Here are links where you can find the PSE downloads Adobe provides:
    PSE 12 Trial - http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_elements
    PSE 10, 11 - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-10-11-downloads.html
    PSE 7, 8, 9 - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-7-8-9-downloads.html
You also need your serial number to activate the installation.  If you lost the disc and did not keep a record of it then your only other hope of finding it will be to check your Adobe account online.
Yo can try getting Adobe support to help with the serial number, but if you have no proof of ownership they will likely not be able to do anything to help you.

  • Migration from PE 8 (Windows) to PE 11 - What steps?? (MAC)

I am planning to migrate from PE 8 (Windows) to PE 11 (Mac). I will continue to use the PE catalog in PE 11 to organize my library of 16,000+ photos.  Although I had considered moving to Aperture for my Digital Asset Manager (in order to more seamlessly work in an Apple environment), I have instead decided to stay with PE since I am familiar with it and happy with its functionality.
I am hoping that this forum can help me: I need to know what steps to follow to perform this migration.  (I am a non-technical user.  All I know thus far is  that I need buy a boxed version or PE11 -  NOT download it from the Apple app site - in order to get the cataloging function.)  I would like the process to enable me to port both my photos AND my hierarchical keyword tagging structure.
(Some background on why I am asking this question proactively: I was severely burned in a previous upgrade from PE 5 to PE 8 (Windows XP to  Windows 7) where ALL of my tagging got lost in the move. This, despite hours of work with the Adobe support team who had me write the keywords into metadata and re-backup, re-port, etc, etc.  It was a nightmare of many hours spent.  All unsuccessful.  I ended up manually re-tagging each of my photos.  Needless to say, I do not want to go through that again,)
Thanks in advance for your help.  Amy

Elements Downloader doesn't auto run on a mac. It's set up so that you always have to launch it from organizer.
If you know you won't use iphoto, then it's a good idea to go to the iphoto preferences>General>When a camera is connected, and choose No Application, in which case the card will mount like a drive on your desktop and you can drag the photos from it or launch PSE Downloader, or choose Image Capture, in which case apple's own OS X downloader/scanner utility launches and you can use that, then File>Get Photos>From Files and Folders to bring them into Organizer.
For moving the catalog, the most important thing is to be sure the catalog is okay in windows first, so do go to manage catalogs>repair, and then optimize before backing up. The transfer is very easy when it works.

  • How do files end up spread around an account?

My elderly mother uses Elements 6 on Vista to manage her several thousand photos.  She is not very computer literate, but manages well enough, editing photos and putting them in mails and documents (word/publisher).  Photos are added normally by connecting the camera via USB and letting Elements import them.  Sometime she scans documents into Elements too.   She not infrequently complains of photos disappearing altogether or of them becoming 'missing' ie. Elements cannot find the underlying file.
I maintain the computer remotely (from a different continent) using LogMeIn and know little of Elements. On trying to help look for missing photos, I noticed that rather than all photos being in her 'Pictures' directory, there are also photos spread around in other 'Documents' subdirecories. There are even one or two that seem to be in the 'Recycle Bin'.  When I ask Elements to look for missing photos it searches all over the place, even going so far as the Guest account!
As my mother does not know enough to have decided to spread the photos around like this, I guess it must be Elements.  The only thing that I can think of is that dragging a photo from Elements to, say a Word document, manages to move the underlying files in Elements. But that seems an odd thing for the program to do on purpose.
Can anyone shed any light on this puzzle please?  How does it happen? How can it be stopped?
I understand that there is a newer version of Elements but am reluctant to upgrade for fear of losing all of the tags/albums etc that are associated with the photos.  Can anyone offer any advise on the likelyhood of an upgrade going smoothly?

First, let's see how the files are imported in your drives:
    - You want to be in charge of that task and download the files where you want. Organizer simply notes where you have put them when you 'get photos from files or folders'
    - The files are written on your disk via another software (mail attachments for instance). Same as above.
    - You are using the PSE downloader to get 'files from camera or card reader' (not compulsory). That's where the Organizer puts the files somewhere. There is a default folder you can specify in the menu preferences. You can always choose an option (advanced) to create subfolders by date in the downloader advanced dialog;  you can always control and change the default by the time of import.
    - Another possibility is getting files by scanning : there is also a default folder to set in the preferences. Same as above, you can control and change it when you scan;
For files in the 'Recycle bin', see that faq:
    http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshop-elements-faq.htm#_Photos_appear_in
In short : you are in control. Start with choosing the right defaults when using the downloader or scanner. Then think about how to organize yourself the files imported externally.

  • Unable to transfer photos-Digital camera to P/Shop Starter Edition

Ihave Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0.1. I run AMD Athlon 3500 CPU,
2GB Memory, 2x160GB H/Drive,Px6600 GT Graphics Card with Windows XP Pro. SP2.
My Camera is Kodak EasyShare CX6330.When I plug the Camera in the USB Port it takes a fair while before thwe photo appears on the PSE Download Window and when I click on Get Photos, Up comes Notice " Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 3.0 cannot obtain files from this device. Please ensure the device is connected, properly, or that the battery is charged, and try again. "
The battery is charged and the connections are ok. The same Camera and connecting cable connects and works perfectly with a nearly the same setup on my other computer.I cannot find the cause of this failure.

Related problem. Mother has an Easyshare camera. I uninstalled her Kodak Software, loaded it again allowing for other programs to download images. I think I did not install the docking portion of the software because I wanted her to use a USB cable and download directly to the PC through Adobe. It worked and defaulted to Adobe when she connected the camera. SHOULD HAVE LEFT WELL ENOUGH ALONE. I tried to do the same for her partner using the same Adobe license...mistake!!! It now saw his camera, but not hers. I uninstalled and reinstalled both software and eventually just the Adobe PS ASE. Her camer neither opens a sa drive or camera. It just does not see it, but does see a scanner connected to the PC. I know other ways to capture the photos, but I wanted an easy system for her. I am thinking I need to uninstall Adobe AND go into the registry and clean up Adobe PS ASE registry keys that are not being cleaned.
Any way to reestablish ASE as the default SIMPLY?
