Pull other attributes into the report

Hi,
I am customizing the user reports,where I need some other attributes.
I am trying to get some other resource attributes from LDAP,These attributes are mapped in the resource schema.If you try to create a user report,then u will see some attributes that can be displayed,
How can I add other attributes to that list.How can I go about this.

to change descriptions dynamically based on some conditions
crtate text variable with replacement path. in context menu of info object u will find properties there beside description field there is one yellow color icon click on that and create one variable with replacement path.
this will replace with some other char variable in ur report.
based on conditions u require create one char var. and replace text var with this char var.

Hi experts,
Currently I try to fugure out how to set up a field into the page header (title) of a report in order to dynamically adapt the title to selected filter criteria. I tried to use the Reprot Filter Summary, but since I do have several sheets in my reports the information given through it is not applicable.
What I would like to achieve is that the end user can select e.g. a category X and Y and the title says: "Report title - categories: X,Y" Somthg like this. I'd appreciate any tips.

thanks so far. I managed to show prompts in the report. But still my problem is nor 100% solved
I would like t achieve that the filtered criteria in the report title is separated through a comma like in the report filter summary - e.g.: {001, 002, 003, 004} followed by just 1chart/table that is including the whole information.
When I however just drag a variable into the report it automatically created different sections, right? Like ........ table, chart, whatever... .......table chart whatever........

Strange bug -- pull a clip into the timeline, now I can't see it!

Has anyone else had this happen, and have they managed to fix it?
After importing video into iMovie 06, when I pull a clip into the timeline I suddenly get only audio, no video. The screen is black. I'm stumped.

this has happened both to an existing project that I had in iMovie 5 and a new one that I started on iMovie 6. The clips look ok in the clip viewer, then in the timeline they become just black squares which play nothing. I have managed to get some of them to work by removing the transitions that I had in on the clips although I am not sure quite why that worked. As well as just black, I have also had just white when I try to play clips.
There seems to be a further problem with the transitions in that the application will not let me progress on to a selected clip (which is not black) while there is a transition in place. It continues just to play the last clip that was successfully selected (or stays on a black clip) regardless of what is highlighted. As soon as the transition is removed, I can then view the selected clip which makes me wonder if the issue is tied to the transitions...If you have transitions in your timeline, it may be worth removing them to see if this helps you get the clip visibility back although it has not worked in all cases for me.

I would like to add an attribute into the request (or session or servletContext) from JSF. Is that possible? If so how? (I want the equivalent of request.addAttribute only the request object is not available in JSF).

you can use <f:param> in combination with the command link component or directly put it with FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequestParameterParm().put(..)

When I import a commercial CD itunes will create 2 identical albums and put all of the songs except one into one album and put the other song into the other album by it self. How can I combine them all into one album and why is itunes doing this?

What I did was to put in the same name for Album Artist in every track. That seemed to do the trick (previously all those fields were empty). It seems like a lot of work for a simple thing.
iTunes knows (or should know) that these tracks were imported from one CD. So why is it relying on incomplete data from the gracenote database?

Querying on a value and using that to pull other data in the same query

I am having some issues pulling the correct data in a query. There is a table that houses application decision data that has a certain decision code in it, WA, for a particular population of applicants. These applicants also may have other records in the same table with different decision codes. Some applicants do NOT have WA as a decision code at all. What I need to do is pull anyone whose maximum sequence number in the table is associated with the WA decision code, then list all other decision codes that are also associated with the same applicant. These do not necessarily need pivoted, so long as I can pull all the records for a person whose highest sequence number is associated with WA and all of the other decision codes for that applicant for the same term code and application number also appear as rows in the output.
I do not have the rights in Oracle to create tables, so please pardon if this code to make the table is incorrect or doesn't show up here as code. This is not the entire SARAPPD table framework, just the pertinent columns, along with some data to put in them.

I have gone into the user front end of the database and verified the information. What is in the output is correct, but it doesn't have other decision codes for that person for the same term and application number.

Are you sure this is what you're actually running? There are errors. such as referencing a column called termcode_entry (starting with an underscore) at the end of the fragment above. Make sure what you post is accurate.

There's an analytic LAST_VALUE function as well as FIRST_VALUE. It's simpler (if less intuitive) to use FIRST_VALUE in this problem because of the default windowing in analytic functions that have an ORDER BY clause.

Data issue with Navigational Attribute in the report

Hi Experts,
We have a report which has Material and Material Group in the report. Material Group is a navigational attribute of 0Material. We have some 31 material groups in the ODS. However, the report is diaplaying only 3 material Groups. If I use Material Group directly( not as an attribute of material) then it is displaying all the 31 material groups correctly.
We have a hierarchy which is loaded through Flat file on Material Group. We need the hierarchy to be displayed for all the material groups in the ODS. Please let me know what could be causing this issue?

Hello Kavitha,
Check if the Material Masterdata is having these Material groups. If not then load this Material masterdata and activate it.
As your query is using Material group as Navigational attribute then the data should come from this Material Masterdata.
If your Material has only 3 of th eMat Groups then report will show only 3. Better update this Material masterdata.

Does anyone know if it's possible to display attributes of an InfoObject in the Report Designer? I made a query using several attributes of an InfoObject. This works great when I just run the query but as soon as I use the query as a datasource in the Report Designer the attributes are gone.

you can view the attributes in RD.
which version of RD u r in. previous revisions u r not able to see the Attributes in the RD update ur system to latest revision.
In the Older versions u can select the attribute, After executing the Query, Click on Filter then select infoobject and Edit. In the Selector u can view ur attributes for the Selected Info object

Adding a dynamic weblink that pulls an image into a report

I am trying to create a report that pulls an image from a Sharepoint site (http) based a field value that is also in the report. It is an image of a product that shows based on the product number/unique ID.
I have the dynamic link working within a weblink in the record detail, but now I'd like to pull the image to show within a report. I am not a technical person, so not really sure even where to start. Any assistance is appreciated.

It's an HTML code - you may want to check up with your web development team.
If you need to put an image on an HTML page you put the HTML code <img src="angry.gif" alt="Angry face" />where angry.gif is the file name of the image on your web server and alt is the name you want to show in the background if someone is accessing this image from a place with poor network connection - as you know to download an image it takes more time than showing up text.

Address book print command pulls other info into address

When I set up to print labels from the address book, it pulls other family member names into the first line of the address even tho they are not part of the contacts name. Any way to avoid this?

Dashboard prompt value is not passing into the report

I am using OBIEE 10g. The problem is in Oracle BI Answers
I have a prompt and its related report. In the prompt, in one of the column, I am using sql result. The sql query is a co-related sub query where i have used 2 tables. employee_data and employee_region. The reason for using sub-query is that there is no data_center column in the employee_data table. It has the records for all the data_center e.g USA, UK,IND,AUSTRALIA etc So, I used the sub query with condition which will give the result on a particular data center (here it is USA) and this sub query's output is input for the main query. And the prompts works fine and gives correct result
The sql query used for the column in the prompt (in Oracle BI Answers) as
SELECT EMPLOYEE_DATA.ENAME FROM EMPLOYEE WHERE EMPLOYEE_DATA.ENAME IN (SELECT EMPLOYEE_REGION.ENAME FROM EMPLOYEE WHERE EMPLOYEE_REGION.DATA_CENTER = 'USA')Now in the report, there are 2 coulmns. - EMPLOYEE_DATA.ENAME and EMPLOYEE_REGION.DATA_CENTER
I have used the main column EMPLOYEE_DATA.ENAME for filter as 'prompted'.
The problem is the value from the prompt is not passing from the prompt to the report, what I found. Because, instead of showing the result for 'USA' data_center, It also shows other data_center 's (UK,IND,AUSTRALIA) data.
How filter condition I should use for EMPLOYEE_DATA.ENAME column in the report so that the prompt value will pass to the report properly ?

There are 2 ways of doing it.
1. Nice and good: For the section where the report is put have a condition to display only if it returns rows. For details please refer to :

2. The easy way: Add a "No Result" view to your report and add few spaces in the text.

How can I move photos from other albums into the camera roll

I have synced photos from my computer onto the iPad. There placed in a different album. How can I move them into the camera roll?

You could do it by setting up a Shared Photo Stream. Select the photos in the Photo app then tap the Shared button selecting Photo Stream. Just don't enter any email address and it will appear on your other devices. Only photos can be added and not albums so you will have to re-organize then on the iPhone.
I would recommend getting the photos to the computer as well though. Create a photo library on the computer and sync then over to the iphone with iTunes. The photo library on the computer can be added to a more reliable backup.

Hi,
Create a text variable (for query name, option available in query properties).
Processing Type would be Replacement path, replace with variable.
Give the variable name created for the selection box characteristic in 'Replace with variable' option.
This would replace value of the text variable with the user input value.

Pulling particular attributes from the XML Object

My requirement is onChange of a value from the first drop down, particular values needs to load in the second drop down. Values that needs to pull are designed in XML Object as Map entries Key,Pair Values.
We can pull the first drop down values from the XML Object using Rule library and find the following code snippet ;

u could use removeChild() method of the node interface....get the parent node named 'xxxxxx' from the DOM and perform a removeChild operation on it specifying the senderID, receiverID and dateTimeStamp Nodes as arguments to the method....
