Putting Image on a Frame Called From an Applet

I currently have an applet that opens up a JFrame when you click on a button. I am trying to figure out how I would put an image on the frame. When I try using ImageIcon image = new ImageIcon("image.jpg") I get an error when I run the applet in the web browser, and if I use getImage( getCodeBase(), "image.jpg") then I get an error.

Single FRAME called from non-frame FORM?

I know FRAMES are so yesterday, but can I include a frameset in a template and have the submit button above the frameset in the same template? Or does the form and submit button have to be in a seperate frame/ABAP subscreen?

I have seen this thread when I was searching for some help on creating web transaction for a module pool program which has tow sub screes and one main screen. As mentioned in the thread I have used <iframe> tag to create a sub screen area in the web.But I am not getting the subscreen required in the frame area. I am getting " 400 session timed out and session not found " error in the WEB. I have given more detail of my problem in another thread. you can access that through this link:

WebService call from signed applet and MS Vista

Hi.
I'M developing a system that needs to call web services from a signed applet.
I have made the solution like this.
The applet starts by checking that the 12 needed libs is present under the <java home>\lib\ext folder. if not it will download the files automatically and restart the browser.
This works fine in Windows XP because the signed applet gives me read/write access to the whole machine, but in Vista this isn't possible anymore (as i understand it).
My question: Is it possible to put these libs in another folder that the ext lib? I have tried to define the "archive" tag in my Object tag but i get the class not found exception thrown in my face.
If there is a solution to this i would very much like some pointers!
If not what can i do to get access to the <java home>\lib\ext folder under Vista?

When invokin applet methods via javascript, you are accessing privileged actions from an unsafe source.
Depending on your needs, you could either load the system variables in applet init into class variables and return the information contained in the class variables to javascript or wrap the method calls inside AccessController.doPrivileged() calls.

Unix script call from java applet

In perl you can use the system command to call a unix command like mv or ls. How do run a unix command from a java applet?

normaly java applets are not allowed to execute any code. But there is a possibility to ask the user to be allowed to..
in Netscpae you can use the following:

then the user can press 'grant' or 'deni'. If he pressed grant, you can do the following:

Saving to the Server from an Applet

Hi all, I've posted a message similar to this before, but didn't get too far. I need to get an applet to be able to open a new browser window and display a web page containing two images from the applet, and several strings from the applet. I need the user to be able to save the images to their hard drive, and I need to be able to use them in email forms from the web page. I assume I would have to somehow save the images and a text file from the applet to the server. I have sucessfully converted my objects of type Image to .gif files (with help from these forums) now all I need to do is find some way to save them or somehow get them onto the web page. I have looked into using a servlet, and using sockets, with little sucess either way. With sockets I keep getting IOExceptions and it says Connection refused. Here's the code I'm using for sockets.

smg123: Well, I've tried modding my policy file on my local machine, I simply gave All Permissions to the directy that contains the applet on my local machine, with no luck. Not sure about signing the applet, if I understand it correctly it seems like that's a bit overkill making the user accept it and such, when all it really needs to do is server side.
FelipeGaucho: I've looked at the servlet tutorial before, but I'll give it another shot. I can't ditch the applet approach entirely though, there's a ton of work put into the applet already.

I think that may be a consequence of the email provider she is using. Some services (AOL is one example) inspect and modify email attachments, particularly photos, resulting in reduced resolution compared to the email that was sent.
The iPod does not do this. The resolution of the picture in the email she receives will be identical to what is imported.

You might not have enough space on your phone.
Look on iTunes and see how much space the photos you copied over is consuming.

Putting images into frames

FCP 10.1.3 multiple graphic images into one frame

Hi - How do I put multiple graphic images into one frame? - so it kind of looks like a video wall - except these are still images. I can do it manually but it's not precise. Anyone found a way other than this? Thanks.

To install it, unzip the file and place the folder inside /Users/yourname/Movies/Motion Templates/Generators
It will look like this in FCP X. You just have to click each drop zone icon in the inspector and then select the desired clip from the browser. Use the Pan and Scale controls in the inspector to select which part of each image you want to use. Note: this was done in the hope that it may be helpful, but it is no more than a quick thing. You can also control-click the generator in the generator browser and choose open in motion (if you have it) to see how it was done and to modify it.

1- put your images in a directory under the web app directory. Example: app/images/
2- in your jsp, use: String file = application.getRealPath("/images/"); to get the images directory. See http://java.sun.com/j2ee/sdk_1.3/techdocs/api/javax/servlet/ServletContext.html#getRealPath(java.lang.String)

JTextField update problem when called from PropertyChangeEvent

Hi,
I'm trying to create forms that can be dynamically loaded with Class.forname(formName).
Those forms should always inherit some methods that make it easy to pass data to
them and receive data from them. The idea is that the data comes from a table which
sends a hashmap (String column/JTextField-name + String Value pairs) with firePropertyChanged
as soon as a new row is seleceted. The JTextFields in the form are marked with setName("FieldName") that has to correspond to the name of the columns of the table.
My problem is that I can't update the fields in my form when I'm calling getRow(HashMap)
from within propertyChangeEvent but that's necessary to keep the forms flexible.
JTextFieldName.setText(newText) just won't work. But it works when I call getRow(HashMap)
from the constructor. SwingWorker and threads to update the form didn't help.
I don't need to call pack() / update() / repaint() on the JFrame, do I ??
update() / validate() / repaint() etc. didn't work on the JTextField themselves.
Below is the code for one of the test-forms (just a JPanel that is inserted in a frame)
with all of it's methods. Does anybody have a solution to this problem ??

The problem of the change in the form not being comitted is that
I forgot SwingUtilities.invokeLater(makeChanges); in the bottom
part in public void propertyChange(java.beans.PropertyChangeEvent evt)
after having created a new Runnable.
Changes to the UI often have to be comitted by SwingUtitlities.invokeLater()
though I don't know that much about Swing yet.

Trying to link a thumbnail in one frame to a larger image in another frame GOLIVE 9...

Hi.
I am using Adobe Golive 9.
I found a tutorial on the internet that allows you to create an image gallery with clickable thumbnails

However, the tutorial is designed for a page without frames.
I want to be able to do this using frames.
I want to link a thumbnail on a page in one frame to a larger image on another page, so that when your mouse is over the thumbnail,
the larger version appears in the other frame.
This is what my frames look like so you get an idea of what I'm trying to do
And here is a picture of the thumbnail in the lower frame and the larger image in the frame above it.
Could someone please give me STEP BY STEP instructions on how to do this? I'm new to Golive, using version GOLIVE 9, and I know this can be accomplished using "Set Image URL" but have no idea how to do it.

A link in one frame is designed to call another page into some other frame, not an image. You can't use SetImageUrl across different pages. You'd probably have to put each of your large images on a page, and call each page each time. I'm not sure why you're so set on using frames, they have many disadvantages.

This is the operation that will be performed when a file is read.
LogicalDirectory = This is the property you have specified to identify the directory to poll. This is best practice, if you do this then you need to specify a name in the bpel.xml file. This also means you can change the directory on the fly within the BPEL console. If you right-click on the recieve for the partner link there is a property tab add the property inputTriggerDir and give the value of the directory on the server.
ActivationSpec = This is just a pointer to the java code, this is defaulted and should not be changed.
IncludesFiles = in your case you are looking for files with the extension of .trg
PollingFrequency = in your case 10 second interval
MinimumAge = This allows you to put a buffer so if a file takes some time to load you can put a wait until you get the full file.
DeleteFile = Once read it will delete
OpaqueSchema = If true means that you have specified no schema and is read in as binary. This is used for pass through, what you read in is what comes out the other side. Manly used for pdf and images.
