QM Inspection in production

My client has this scenario
For raw materials
10% of the samples is inspected during procurement at goods receipt.
then 100% inspection of the same is done during production. Some times rejections happen at the shop floor.
First scenario is easy .Please advice me on how to conceive the second scenario.

Hi..
To achieve this requirement there are some developments are required.
e.g.:- One different movement type should be there for handling vendor rejection from production line to transit store.
One different transit store should be there for handling the rejections.
Now you can do the transfer posting thru MIGO from production line to transit store. and can select supplier from partner tab.
Different movement type and storage location would be very helpful for reporting part. And maintain discipline.

Vivek.

  • Inspection during production

    Hi All,
Please clarify  my doubt on Quality inspection during production.
We are using inspection type - "04 - Goods receipt inspection from production" for inspection during production.
Once after inspection if we reject a sub assembly for rework and move the part to block stock, we raise a notification to the concern department.
Now after production does a rework, how can we receive the sub assembly back to unrestricted used through Quality route and reflect the same in my notification.
If there is some other standard process of inspection during production and rework then please throw some light on it.
    Thanks & Regds,
    Ritesh

    QM>Qualty Notif.>Notif. processing>Additional notif. Functions>Define Action Box
In the next pop-up screen select Define functions for the Action box
To research this I would look at notification Q1.  Select Q1.  Double Click on Activities.
Double click on 0035 - post goods movement.
you will see this action uses FM QM06_FM_TASK_GOODS_MOVEMENT_2.  It is configured to run a second module upon saving called QM06_FM_TASK_GOODS_MOVEMENT_STEP2.
Click on the blue information button to read more about these FM's.
Copy these FM's and have an APAB'er modify them for your use.  Add an action to your particular notification using these the new Z FM's.

  • Stock Type X Quality Inspection in Production Orders

    Hello,
I have the material 123EDFXXX that the Production order has set the Stock Type =X (Quality Inspection)...
We don´t know how was that set!! since that material has not active the QM Views in the material master.
There is another master data (prod version, route) or something else that is coping that value??

    Hi Marco,
1.Pl check if QM was active before the creation of order. If so you need to delete all Material and accounting documents
    2. Check in the work scheduling view in material master if the inspection stock is active box is active.then this could be the reason.

  • Quality Inspection before Production

    Hi All,
We are using Production resource tools(PRT) in Production Order. We want to do the quality inspection of the PRT before one day of Production.
How can we map the following scenario so that Quality check can be done for PRT before Production??
    Thanks,
    Sanjay

    Dear
    1) Create Equipment under the category Test Equipment (Q)
    2) Go to inspection plan and assign the PRT in the opertion overview. When you click on PRT normaly it will ask for material, you can choose equipment and then add the Equipment there. You can assign multiple PRTs
    3) In inspection characteristic - make sure that Test Equip is ticked in the control indicator of the mic
    4) In inspection charactertistic overview for each mic you can select and the PRTs maintained in the operation view is visible here and you select the one which is require

  • Unit to Be Inspected Tab during Inspection of Production Order

    Dear experts,
During result recording of inspection lot from GR (QE01), there is a tab named " Unit to be Inspected" whereby users can record characteristics per serial no.. During result recording of inspection lot created during production order, the tab "Unit to be inspected" does not appear. Is there any way to make the particular tab appear in result recording for production order?
    Thanks in advance

    Dear,
Please check your inspection plan (QP02) ---> Operation --> Select Inspection characteristics ---> click on control indicators --> select Single result in Result Confirmation. --> Save it.
It is also depend on your sampling procedure. If you take the 10 sample in your sampling procedure then it will appeare for 10 times in result recording.

  • Inspection for production order

    hi all,
While I tried to generate inspction lot for production order automatically, i get an error message : inspction lot create fail. I've done these steps, is there any mistake here :
    1. in material master, i set inpection type 03 and choose prefered inspect type and active options.
    2. I've create an inspction plan with usage '1'(Produc) and status '4'(Release) and inspect operations with control key 'QM01', also aign MICs into them.
    3. when i create product order with TCode 'CO01' and release this order, it can't create any inspection lot automatically, when i try to do this manually with menu, i get that error message.
    Did i missing any setting?
    thank u very much.

    Dear,
In Material master, QM view in the insp type 03 details
    check box-insp with material specification
    Check box-insp with task list
In the above check box, which one ticked?
If both are ticked then you need to maintian material specification in QS61, or remove this tick from check box-insp with material specification in material master
So for inspection type 03 use routing with usage as 1 and status as 4 and control key as PP04 to specify the inspection characteristics.
when u cofirm that perticular operation it will ask to record the results. Inspection lot get genarated during order release this we can see in the order header data assignment tab. PP04 assignement says this operation is relevent for inprocess inspection and we need to assign MIC's for this which are relevent created in QS21 for this also sampling procedure created in QDV1

    Hope it will help you.

  • Inspection per production version

    Dear all
My customer would like to activate quality inspection for good receipt from production but according to the workcenter on which the material has been  produced. Which means that depending of the workcenter on which it is produced, the quality inspection will be active or not.
Do you havean idea on how to handle that?
I have activated inspection type 04 in material master but an inspection lot will be created for all production orders
    Thanksa lot

    Hi,
Similar requirement for inspection lot based on W/c was once discussed here and I think this should be helpful to you. You would need to go for customization and User exits to achieve this. Pl refer following thread for more details.
For same material need different Insp. Plans at different workcenters

  • Result recording inprocess inspection for production order!

    Hi,
I have a scenario in for prod order in process inspection.
I have an operation to machine the shaft for 3 hrs. And every hour I need to take an reading and note down in the inspection. For the same reason I created master data of MIC Quantitative, Sampling procedure with sample size 1
On routing for the same material, Usage 1 and status 4 Released for general, Inspection point 200 and sapmle drawing procedure with fixed qty 3.
Generated a prod order and released, got inspection lot for lot origin 03. But when I try to enter 3 different readings per hour could not able to achieve this.
    Kindly help me out.
    Regards,
    N. Nagaraju

Are u using physical samples? If not, I wouldn't use the sample drawing procedure.
Set your characteristic to individual results recording in your control indicators.  Set the sampling procedure to be a fixed sample size of three.
You should be able enter three results then for the characteristic.

  • Add inspection characteristics to production order created via CO07

    Hi, all.
We're creating production orders to perform production rework on assemblies using transaction CO07.
We have a requirement to inspect and make a usage decision on the reworked assembly.
Since there is no material at the header level for CO07 orders, the system isn't allowing us to do an inspection because it has no material master QA view to reference.  Although the control key is marked for in-process inspection, the production order still won't allow it.
I can't add "unplanned inspection characteristics", not can I manually create an inspection lot using QA01.
Is there a way to manually force in an inspection for an operation on a CO07 order?
    Thanks.
    Sarah

    Hi,
We cannot do a inspection for a production order unless it has material assigned to it and the material got QM inspection type relevant to that.

  • QM inspection at various quality gates during production

    Hi All,
We need clarification on how to plan inspection during production at various stages.
    1. How to trigger and use inspection point planning at various inspection stages??
    2. How will the characteristic be activated, processed and closed at various inspection stages??
    3. How to define different characteristic at different inspection stages?
    4. Will a single inspection lot be generated for entire production of a machine or separate lot will be generated at all the inspection stages??
If possible, please provide the process flow.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ritesh

    First questions
    1. How to trigger and use inspection point planning at various inspection stages??
.. QCC0 > Quality Planning > Inspection Planning > General > Define Identifier for Inspection Points
    2. How will the characteristic be activated, processed and closed at various inspection stages??
.. When user define new inspection point at result recording, system activates the characteristics automatically based on inspection plan.
    3. How to define different characteristic at different inspection stages?
.. Not possible with inspection point function in SAP standard
.. You have to define all characteristics at inspection plan or use add characteristic function at result recording.
    4. Will a single inspection lot be generated for entire production of a machine or separate lot will be generated at all the inspection stages??
.. It depends on production order process because inspection lot for production is generated based on production order.
    Second questions
    1. How can we define partial inspection points within production processes?
.. QCC0 > Quality Planning > Inspection Planning > General > Define Identifier for Inspection Points
    2. Process to activate and process characteristics at every inspection points?
    .. Yes
    3. Is it possible to allot score against those characteristics during inspection?
.. Allocation is not possible, only add is possible.
    4. How is partial check points processed and closed?
.. You can define it in operation header detail of inspection plan.
    5. Is defect recording done at every inspection point or at the end?
    .. Every inspection point
    5. How to summarize the result and close the inspection lot finally??
.. System summarize the result automatically when you execute usage decision transaction.

  • Inspection for Co-product

    Dear All,
We have defined a process like this.
We have a material A,  in which will have B & C as other product (Co- product) . we will confirm material A only.
Now my requirement is i  want  to have inspection in production for the material B&C as individual lots
    Kindly give your suggestions.
    Selvam

    Dear Craig,
I dont want inspection for the finished materal (i.e  for Material A ), i want the material B & C  to be inspected. I have assigned inspection type as 03 in the material master and created different task list for each material. but when iam doing GR for  the material  B&C (co-product)  inspection lot is not created.
But lot is created for the same material for the inspection type 04.
Kindly guide me which is best practice.

  • Inspection in the Production Process.

    Hi Experts!
I'm Work in a company that have inspection in production process (inspection type 03). In customizing about PP confirmation parameters, was defined to stop confirmation if not have inspection results in inspection lot. However, if entered a result to only one inspection characteristic, even if out of specification, no usage decision, the system allows the operation confirmation with quality inspection.
I want that the system not allow the confirmation if the inspection is out of specification, and if not all characteristics of the operation are evalueted and done. Other issue that is allowed enter values for inspection characteristics of the operation 0040 before enter values to inspection characteristics 0010, when i have more then one operations with inspection. The system show the message QE264, but is only a warning. I want that is a error, but not have configuration for this.
I read all documentation for inspection in production, and in accordance with the texts, is correct the behavior, is the concept. I do not agree.
    Any sugestion?
    Best Regards,
    Richard

    Hi Richard
To block confirmation if without inspection result
    Go to t code:OPK4
select your plant and order type click details
Under the tab of general valid setting
select:Error message if no inspection result exist form result record QM
    And check the scenario
Reg with out of specification of QM RR
i don't think that it is possible inn standard SAP
just wait other expert comments of this subject

  • For a Production order - Operation wise Inspection Lot

    Hi Experts,
Please help me out to resolve the following problems.
    1. How can we create inspection lot for each operation for a production order?
If a production order has 10 operations, I will have to have 10 inspection lots for that order.
    2. I have a final assembly called A with components B & C. Some other material called D has similar characteristics of B.
But sometimes, for A, instead of B (if stock is not available), i want to use D also. Please note that, if B is not available, then
only, I will use D. Otherwise always B only, so we cannot go with probability.
How can we map this scenario? and MRP run also should consider D if B is not there.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Vijay.

    Dear
    Answer Q1 : Go to SPRO > Production> Shop floor control> operations > confirmation> define confirmation parameters
    Maintain
1)Operation sequence u2013 error when operation sequence is not adhered to
    2) Over delivery u2013 Error when over delivery tolerance is exceeded
    3) Results Rec. (QM)- Error message if no Insp results exist
So what these setting helps is that  :
1)All operation has to be confirmed operation wise means 0010 has to be confirmed for confirming 0020 operation. SO production guys can only confirm 0040 operations only after 0030 operations is confirmed by quality personal.
2)Over delivery is not allowed means of in 0030 operation if only 50 quantity is confirmed in 0040 operation only 50 can be confirmed. Production people cannot confirm more than 50 quantities
    3) Also PP personal cannot confirm operation 0030 through C011N till the result recording of that operation is done through QA32.
4)Maintain Operation Control Key -PP01 with marked Inspection Character Marked -OPJ8  and maintain this Control Key for   those operation which are required for Inspection Lot .
Now For QM stand point , activate inspection type 03 and 04 in material master. For 03 type of inspection, you have to make routing in CA01. So when you release your production order, an inspection lot will be generated. This lot will not be stock relevant. This is just to check that you production is in accordance with quality norms. Only after clearing this lot from quality you can do your order confirmation, otherwise system will give hard error due to 3rd point of prev post.
For 04 type of inspections, prepare inspection plan in QP01. Now when order is confirmed, an inspection lot of 04 origin will be created in quality, and this is stock relevant and for final inspection of production order material.
If you need you can set for early inspection as well. That will give you another intermediate stage before final inspection. Inspection points are also an option if suites your requirement.
If you need more inspections, I suggest go for manual inspection lots of 04 origins, they are created in ref to order and are not stock relevant.
Q2 : Please explore this thread for options explained for Alternative Item selection .
    Alternate Item in BOM

  • Inspection plan has been deleted- GR from production

    Hi,
We are doing a goods receipt inspection from production - origin 04.
The inspection plan group counter that was assigned to the inspection lot has been deleted.
is there a way to assign another valid inspection plan group counter to the inspection lot so that we can do GR with 04 origin.
    Thanks in advance,
    Manohar

    Hi
is there a way to assign another valid inspection plan group counter to the inspection lot so that we can do GR with 04 origin.
Even if the Inspection plan is deleted...you can create a back dated inspection plan with another group counter.system automatically propose next group counter.
Now lets say that your lot is already created & you want to assign the new inspection plan..
    then go to QA02
    click on reset sample
    save.
now again go to QA02--->Inspection specification  >click on Inspection specification>click on sample.
    save.
check the status as REL for inspection lot.
    Now take UD
    I hope you understood

  • Inspection Lot Creation after GR

    Dear PP/QM Masters,
I have question regarding inspection lot creation after goods receipt.
There will be GR once at the end of the shift with batch number. As batch generated during shift will be different, there will be multiple GR entry. But for every material only one result recording per shift is required and not for all batches generated. So, how to avoid creation of so many inspection lot? Automatic Inspection lot creation is required hence no question of manual creation of inspection lot.
I checked function module ‘QAPP_CUST_IP_CREATE’ for inspection point functionality but its description “You can use the available function module to generate inspection points for the inspection during production already when the inspection lot is created.” Can I use function module ‘QAPP_CUST_IP_CREATE’ for restricting creation of inspection lot after GR?
Request all Masters to help me in solving this.
    Thanks and regards,
    Devang

    Dear All,
First of all thanks a lot for your response.
I checked ‘Control Inspection Lot’ setting but even that can not solve my problem as in our case though GR with confirmation will be once in a shift (though in system shift is not defined) but batches will be different and hence material document will be separate. And requirement is to have single inspection lot per shift even if batches and material documents are separate.
One option is to have multiple line items for GR in MB31 or MIGO or in COR6N. But all this transaction allows only one line item for GR against process order. So, can you suggest any function module or option to have multiple line items for GR.
    Thanks and regards,
    Devang
