Raw Material Cost Estimate - No split between cost component

Dears,
I need to execute a material cost estimate considering the Purchasing Info Record (PIR) where 3 different conditions are present:
1) PB00
2) FRB1
3) RUC1
The scope is:
- linking PB00 to cost component 1
- linking FRB1 to cost component 2
- linking RUC1 to cost component 3
Cost components are already created.
I did following steps:
- creation PIR with these 3 conditions (transaction ME11)
PB00  10,00 EUR @ 1 KG
FRB1   2,00 EUR @ 1 KG
RUC1   3,00 EUR @ 1 KG
- link condition types to origin groups (transaction OKYO)
FRB1 linked to FRB1
RUC1 linked to RUC1
- link origin groups to cost component (transaction OKTZ)
PB00, is linked to cost component 1 without origin group, but using only account coming from T030 table
FRB1 is linked to cost component 2 using origin group FRB1 and the same acocunt used for condition PB00 coming from T030 table
RUC1 is linked to cost component 3 using origin group RUC1 and the same acocunt used for condition PB00 coming from T030 table
At this moment, when I try to execute the cost estimate with transaction CK11N, the split is not done, and all condition types (all amounts) are linked to cost component 1. The set-up done in OKYO is not considered by the system.
In the material master there's any origin group, if I try to fill in origin group FRB1 all condition types (all amounts) are linked to component 2, and if I try to change the origin group in the material master from FRB1 to RUC1, all condition types (all amounts) are linked to component 3 --> this means that the set-up done OKTZ is correctly considered by the system to link the origin group to the cost components.
The problem is that the system reads the origin group from the material master, instead of transaction OKYO.
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks and Regards,
Jody

Pl verify following two things -
Check valuation variant.
Strategy sequence should have 'L - Price from purchasing info-record' and Sub-strategy should be 'A Quotation price via condition table' or 'B PO price via condition table'.
OKYO setting should have valuation variant associated with your costing variant, along with other details (dont leave that field blank).
Let us know if that works.

Subodh

  • Default Raw material valuation type consideration for st. cost esti. of FG

    Dear SAP gurus,
For Raw materials we have split valuation (DOMESTIC, IMPORT).
During standard cost estimate of finished product, system is considering always DOMESTIC valuation for raw material component. why system is behaving like this.
But we need to consider the header price(Moving average header price updated in Material master). Where we can maintain the relevant configuration settings.
    Thanks and regards
    Venkat V

    Hi Venkat
I have never seen this.. It always takes the header price from the costing view....
Check in OMWC is you have specified DOMESTIC as the mandatory val type for external procurement

  • Raw material costing - Valuation strategy with info-rec. "L" - Consignment

    Hi all,
I want to implement raw material costing for all our raw material.
I created a new costing variant which use strategy "L"  (price from purchasing info-record).  My sub-strategy is 9 - Effective Price from PO followed by 5 - Effective price from info-record.
Everything works well except for consignment with vendor.
I have a raw that is procured from a vendor. The price for the raw is stored in the purchasing info-record and has condition types associated with it. This PIR is of CONSIGNMENT type. However, When costing the raw in CK11N the price for this consignment material is not pulled into the estimate.
I have seen in note 552486 that "For the valuation with a price from the info record, the system can basically only consider info records with category 'N' (normal) and 'L' (subcontracting). "
Have any of you come accross this situation? if yes, how did you resolve it?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
any other idea about this ?  I want to use strategy "L" but want to know if I can make it work with consignment.
    Thanks

  • Split the material cost into labor and overhead costs

    Hello Experts,
We get Finished Goods from another plant and that plant is not on SAP. So we load these materials as Finished Goods and enter the price in the costing tab and we do run cost estimates. In the cost estimate we see this price as material cost. How can we split this material cost into material + labor + over head costs? Is there anywhere we can enter the percentages that would split the total price into material and labor and overhead prices? I appreciate your time and response.
    Thanks In Advance

    HI Venkat,
You can only split material cost using origin groups and not into material, labour & OH as you may know the cost components are grouping of cost elements (with an option to use origin groups).
If this is too important for you to maintain that cost component split, then I see the only way is to consider maintaining quantity structure in SAP for the finished product, so that cost roll up happens with cost components.
    Hope this helps.

  • Split valuation Cost estimate

What is the impact when we execute cost estimate using Split valuation materials ?

Std cost estiatme would impact the Split valuation which would have the material with "S" Standard price to update the price when you release std cost estimate.

  • Split valuation-Preliminary Cost estimate

    Hello,
Is it possible to create a Prelimnary cost estimate for split valuated material.Relevant Proc alternaitves crtd
    Pls help

    Hi,
In the case of split valuation only header and not the valuation
    type is costed.
If one material has split valuation, standard price will be released
only for header segment (valution type blank). You have the possibility
to release standard price for in-house production segment, if you set
the 'Default'-flag in the customizing transaction for splitted val.
(OMWC) for the val. category 'X'.
Please check the note 552486 that contains information about
    this context. (Question 10).
Alternatively you might created mixed cost estimate to release prices
for each procurement alternative that is associated with an val. type.
The only way to mark and release a standard costing per valuation type
is by using the functionality of mixed costing. That means that you
have to define a quantity structure category and define a
procurement alternative based on a valuation type of your material.
Afterwards you have define a mixing ratio for your material and the
    defined quantity structure category.
Based on this mastr data (procurement alternatives and mixing ratios)
it is possible to carry out a mixed costing, one part of this
mixed costing should be a cost estimate based on your valuation type.
If you mark and release the mixed cost estimate the system will
set the standard price on valuation type level (prerequisite:
you have the define the procurement alternative based on the
    valuation level)
For more details please have a look in the R/3 documentation for
mixed costing or contact your consultant.
Please refer to NOTE 552486 (FAQ):
"Question 10: In the case of a split valuation, why can the prices only
be updated in the internal segment?
Answer:In the initial standard SAP System, only the header segment is
calculated and the price is updated only here. However, if the "Valuation
type 'in-house production' mandatory" flag is set for the categories in
Customizing (Transaction OMWC), it is also possible to update the price
in an internal segment. For external segments (procured externally) this
does not make any sense in general. However, mixed costings can also be created and updated for several segments via procurement alternatives."
Setting this flag will take impact on materials WITH split valuation
in the future. New prices will be released for the in-house segment
in addition to header segment in TA CK24.

    Hi,
As note 351835 explains, calculation needs an inforecord to calculate prices from purchasing. Prices from outline agreements are generally not taken into account. According to note 499699, the system may consider entries in the source but it will ignore entered agreements (before this correction, any source list entries with agreement were ignored).
Prices from agreements could only be considered either via a modification or by using the user exit for material valuation (COPCP005).
This unfortuntely is a restriction resulting as a side-effect from note 499699. As soon as an agreement is entered in the source list, the fixed indicator will not be considered anymore.
You therefore have two options to overcome this.
    1) You create a second source list entry without an agreement; then the fix indicator will be reflected; report Z_CREATE_EORD from note  409960 could be used to do this automatically
    2) You are using user-exit EXIT_SAPLMEQR_001 in order to 'overrule'   the standard search for source of supply (enhancement LMEQR001)

  • How SAP use transfer control or material cost estimate

    Hello!
I have strategy "3-Previous standard cost estimate" in transfer control material cost estimate.
I have cost estimate for product AAA with status KA and costing date from 01.01.2014.
Product AAA produced from component BBB.
Component BBB has two cost estimates with costing date from 01.01.2014 and 01.02.2014.
I run cost estimate for product AAA with costing date from 06.03.2014.
Cost estimate not use existing cost estimate for component and create new cost estimate.
In help.sap.com contains next information about transfer strategy 3 - The system searches for existing previous cost estimate.
why my system does not use the existing cost estimate for component?
    Thanks for attention.

    Thanks, Szymon!
I use russian interface and read russian help. Where stragegy 3 has name "Прошедшая плановая калькуляция" which means "The last planned cost estimate".
    This led me astray.
In english help i read next:
    Previous standard cost estimates
The system searches for an existing previous standard cost estimate.
    You are completely right!
    two more questions:
    - We can not use strategy 3 if we not realesed cost estimate as standard price?
    - What strategy we should use for transfer material cost estimate with status KA?

  • Cost component in cost estimate

    Hi all,
In cost estimate with quantity structure, costs assigned to one of my cost components do not appear in the correct group.
This only happens for a group that should include semi-finished costs. The correspondance in the customizing is correctly made between the cost element and the cost component and when looking at itemization, the correct cost element is displayed but no cost component is shown.
I assume the problem may arise from the fact that my finish product use elements from other cost component, e.g. raw material, packaging,...
Would someone have any idea on this issue?
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Target sost calculation not considered Current cost estimate in KKBC_ORD

    Hi All,
We have an case wherein it observed that target cost calculation on SFG is wrong
in KKBC_ORD where system does not considered the current cost estimate.
We have all the necessayry customisation in place for Target cost version 0 for current cost estimate.
    Below is detailsed case.
1 Process Order created in Dec 2011
2 Price Released to Mat master  on 01.01.2012
3 Goods movement,Operation confirmad Material Issues, FG qty delivered @ std cost 0n 04.01.2012
    4 Order Technically completed (TECO)
5 KKS1/KKS2 will be done at month end.
We know that In Process order, after deliver of FG the target cost on FG is not getting calculated, target cost will be updated only after calculating variance. it does
not calculate after delivery of finished goods, On Execution of KKS1/KKS2  variance will be calculated the target cost on FG and will be updated.
In process  order (COR3 --> Cost analysis) Target cost ,Actual cost and Planned cost are calculated based on the following:
Total Plan Cost = Std Cost the material required to Produce X Planned Qty of the required material
Target Cost = Std Cost the material planned to Produce X Std Qty of material required to produce, for Produced Actual Qty
Actual Cost = Std Cost the material planned to Produce X Actual Qty of material consumed, for Produced Actual Qty
The variance is calculated on SFG and assemblies based on the difference between actual and target cost in KKBC_ORD. During creation of process order, the plan cost
will be updated with the valid standard cost upon the creation.
The target cost on SFG and Assemblies is only generated when there is good receipt from production order into inventory.
The target cost is generated using the valid / recent costing run for the correspondence SFG in KKBc_ORD.
All other target costs showed in COR3 (Menu Go to > Costs > Analysis) or KKBC_ORD before doing KKS1/2 is only statistical- However in our case Traget cost calculated
on SFG in KKBC_ORD not relevant with current cost estimate.
However Actual cost and Planned cost Calculated correctly.
Actual Cost= Current Standard costof the materilal(5.624,88)X Actual Qty (13.693)=77.021,48
Planned cost= Std Cost the material required to Produce (6.572,12) X Planned Qty (12.415)= 81.592,87
However Target cost is not considering the current cost estimate; It should be - Current Standard cost of the materilal(5.624,88)X Target Qty(13.958,124)=78512.07.
But Errorneously Target cost is showing 67.383,59 which causing unfavorable variance to standard.
It should be 78512.07-77.021,48= 1490.59 favourable var to standard in KKBC_ORD.
Any help, suggestion and input would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks with Regards
    Subrata

    hi
target cost is your standard cost* actual confirmed quantity, not the standard quantity required
the variance calculated will be always  the actual debit to the production order- actual credit of the production order
your actual credit  for the process order is  std cost* actual quantity delivered to the inventory= Current Standard costof the materilal(5.624,88)X Actual Qty (13.693)=77.021,48
actual debit to the process order is total actual cost which you can see in COR3 report .
By the way for which period you have calculated variance, target cost will be calculated based on that months standard cost

  • Reorganization of Cost estimates

    Dear All,
Please help in knowing the difference between "Reorganization of Cost Estimates" & "Revaluation" of a product having standard price in material master.
In a nutshell, why "Reorganization of Cost Estimation"(CKR1) is to be done before "Price change" (MR21).
Hope that my query is clear.
    Thanks
    Nikesh Patel

    Nikesh,
    1. Reorganization of cost estimate means deletion of cost estimate, by using the transaction code CKR1 you can delete the current cost estimate, marked (future) cost estimate. It is advisable to do the CKR1 before any goods movements for that material.
Generally this will perform when the business realized that released cost estimate is wrong.
    2. MR21 will use to update the standard price for the materials. when you update the price as per the new standard price your inventory will evaluates at that time there is an accounting entry if your new standard price is greater than old standard price.
Inventory dr to Revaluation inventory cr.
The above GL accounts will trigger as per the OBYC--> UMB settings.
Please let me know if you need any further help.

  • Cost estimate issue (Urgent!!!!)

    Hello,
While doing the Cost estimate i am getting below error message for Material 'A':
It was showing me cost estimate earlier , but we wanted that for a particular Cost element (already existing in CCS) planning needs to be done and needs to be included in Std cost of material.
I have not touched Cost component strcuture nor the Splitting structure. Everything is in place.
I have added Planning in KP06 for Costcenter and Cost element (non activity related)
Then i did KSS4 - Splitting allocation to activity types
and then KSPI - Price calculation.
After that i am performing the cost estimate it is giving me below error. Can u please help. Even if i have undone what i have done it is giving the same message.
    Points would be rewarded imm.
Cost center 1045262000, activity type M_RUN: Actvty price differs fr. cost comp splt
    Message no. CK687
    Diagnosis
For cost center 1045262000/activity type M_RUN, the activity price calculated for price strategy 2 is different from the corresponding primary cost component split.
    Possible causes:
You are working in Cost Center Accounting with manually-set activity prices that are included in the iterative activity price calculation.
Rounding error (in this case, notify your system administrator).
    System response
Costing ignores the primary cost component split from Cost Center Accounting, and assigns the costs to the product cost estimate through the allocation cost element of the cost component split.

    Hi rajeshwari,
have u got a solution? if not, then go to T-code KSBT. Check there must not be a rate calculated for the Cost center 1045262000, activity type M_RUN.
For the sake of removing the error message, go to T-code KP26, key in activity as 1 & fixed rate also as Rs 1 . Save this & again execute  cost estimate .
Aslo check Tcode KSV3 if u have a distribution cycle in place. Then check  splitting.
    Hope this helps

  • Product cost estimate

    Hi Experts,
Can somebody explain me the theoritical point of need for product cost estimate.  From my know somepeople say we need to enter the standard price in the cost estimate tab of the material master, but sometime i see that when we run the CK11n the price automatically updated in the standard price field of the material master when we mark and relese the std cost estimate.
Do we need to enter price in the material master before the cost estimate for the materials or if we do the cost estimate do we do cost estimate only for the finished products so that all the cost under that product will be calcualted or do we need to do cost estimate for all material raw material, HALB & FERT?
what is the purpose of cost estimate and the result of cost estimate?
    Thank you
Edited by: Nivi ram on Dec 29, 2009 9:52 PM

    Hi Nivi,
Partly I agree with Pradeep, but I would to add more information regarding product cost estimate concept.
Maintaining material master on Accounting view or Costing view is mandatory prior to run Product Costing. It is true, by maintain price manually you cannot get cost breakdown or what so called as cost component structure. It is initial price which then later can be updated by "process Marking and Release" product cost estimatel.
How the system get the value of material costs and process costs are defined by Costing Variant. Costing variant control how the system find the BOM and routing to calculate the material costing and the production costing. System will access the material  and activity cost based on Valuation variant in the Costing variant. I am sure you can costing variant use in the CK11N.
When the product cost are free of error then, you can go to the process to utilize the product cost estimate to update the material master with CK24 ( update material master indivdually). You can also use mass costing using CK40N - Edit Costing Run to maintain the costing and update material master. So product cost estimate can be run either for finished product (FERT), semi finished product (HALB) or other components
    Hope this help.

  • Primary cost estimate/ stad. cost estimate

    Hi gurus,
Please advise in REM, what is the difference between std cost estimate and preliminary cost estimate. when we should go for preliminary cost estimate and in which scenario should we go for std? please advise.

    Hi
To make things simple, please note the below difference.
    Standard cost estimate: -
If you select this in REM profile, then if u make any changes in routing or BOM which could have impact in material cost, then the costing run and updating the assembly with new cost is mandatory beofre MFBF could be done.
    Preliminary cost estimate: -
Here once Preliminary cost estimate is done then the back flush could be done with preliminary cost and costing run is not mandatory.
The scenario depends on situation where company does chnages in routing or BOM frequently but it has no or negligible impact in final costing of material.
