RDS user CALS expired after 60 days but still active

Hello Technet,
I have installed 15 RDS user CALs on my server. 3 of them haven't been used for 60 days and expired yesterday.
But they are still listed as "active" what mens they are not available for other users.
What can I do to "free" those expired RDS user CALs?

OK, the question answered itself:
Server 2012R2 RDS User CALs expire after 60 days if they are not used. They get "free" and can be reassigned exactly
24 hours after the expiration time!

I have a Wireless LAN running CWA mit ISE (Version 1.2.0.899).
Selfregistration is enabled for guest user. I build a new Timeprofile with 90 days for these guest accounts and attached this time Profile to the Guest Portal Policy.
But the accounts expire after 5 days.
Any Hint what is missing or where I have to adjust a default value?

Please follow below
Step 1 Choose Administration > Web Portal Management > Settings > Guest > Time Profiles.
Step 2 Click Add .
Step 3 Assign a name and description to the time profile. This name will display to sponsors when creating guest accounts.
Step 4 Choose a time zone to be used for the time restrictions.
Step 5 Choose an account type and duration.
Step 6 Enter the day of the week and “from” and “to” times for the restriction times to prevent guest users from accessing the network or to log them off during these times.
Step 7 Click the settings icon to add additional restrictions.
Step 8 Click Submit .
Check the Time zone and system time

Adobe Trial Software expires after one day if launched in June 2008

A large majority of Adobe Trial Software Packages, including After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Illustrator, contain a time-out bug which will affect people who launch the trial for the first time in June 2008. Users who launch a trial application for the first time in June 2008 will be given only one day, rather than 30 days, to trial the software.
When you open the trial version of an Adobe program, you are warned that the trial will expire after one day. When you open the trial after that day, the trial has expired.
If you decide to purchase the product in June, instead of having 30 days to activate your product, you only have one day to activate.
Users who first launched their trial before June 2008 are not affected.

No. Get used to it. It's called progress. No offense, but generally I get the impression that you are looking for something that nobody realyl will be able to help you with. If your whole workflow is based on outdated trial versions (and that includes your old AutoCAD), it begins to smell like you have done that for a while now and only now it doesn't work and then we are quickly approaching the sign that says "Piracy town, next crossing left". Either that, ore you are stuck with a 10 year old computer, in which case you will have to straighten out that first.

Visio Trail expired after 9 days when supposed to get 60 days?

i installed this on a few clients computers while they waited to make a decision on how to pay for it but the trial that is supposed to last 60 days has expired after 9 days on all computers?

2008 RDS user cal License moving to 2012 server

Hello ,
We have moved the 2008 RDS User Cal Volume License to the 2012 server .
In the RDS license Manager it is showing usage is showing as Zero even though users are using the service.
It is issuing the temporary license.
Does anyone have document how to follow the migrations process from 2008 RDS User Cal Volume License to the 2012 server.
please provide the resolutions.

Please describe in more detail you current server configuration and what steps you have performed so far.
1. Are the users logging on to a Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH) server, or Server 2012/2012 R2 RDSH server? If the RDSH server is 2012/2012 R2 then 2012 RDS CALs are required. Additionally you need to configure the
licensing mode of the 2012 RDSH server to be Per User. From your description it sounds like it is set to Per Device. The licensing mode is set in the RDS deployment properties: Server Manager -- RDS -- Overview -- Deployment Overview -- Tasks --
Edit Deployment Properties -- RD Licensing tab.
2. If the users are logging on to a Server 2008 R2 RDSH server, did you set its licensing mode to Per User and point it to the new 2012 RD Licensing server? You can do this by logging on to the RDSH as an admin and opening RD Session Host Configuration
(tsconfig.msc) or by setting the appropriate group policy.

I am sure you are using BLOB cache. Try to disable it and check. I have seen this issue with BLOB cache.
Do we see some error in ULS logs and Event viewer
Use fiddler and check if there is something like 404.

Cisco WCS guest user expires after few days

1) Hardware we are using:
WCS version 6.0.196.
WLC version 6.0
2) Configuration steps we carried out:
We have created guest user using Lobby admin account having for accessing WLC which we are having in network. it works fine for some days but after that we have observed the particular guest user account status showing expired on WCS. Wanted to mention we have used Unlimited tab for life time while creating guest user account. The Account life time for guest user at the point of configuration was showing ( status -- Active, Account Lifetime -- Never Expire)

During the point of problem from WCS logs I observed the "Guestuser Service" is giving problem, below is the error. The detailed log is attached herewith.
14:11:39.488 ERROR[general] [24] [GuestUserService] User does not belong to group 'Lobby Ambassador' or defaults are not set COMMON-11,LobbyAmbDefaults

Symptom:
WCS deletes the Guest User Template when trying to de-provision it from a controller. Instead of deleting the guest user from the selected controllers, the user is removed from all controllers and the template deleted from WCS.
Conditions:
Using the delete functionality on the Guest User Template Page

How to assign RDS 2012 R2 temporary license per RDS user CAL

we have setup two RDS servers of 2012 r2 runnning with both RDSH roles, RDP-1 is the license server and in RDP-2 its pointed to RDP-1 to take license and licensing mode is set as per user. users are getting license in per user mode of 60 days validity.
Question is how to get temporary license assigned for users in per user mode, this is requirement for testing the license in our company as it is setup just now.So i have removed the pointing of license server in RDP-2 using Group policy, but still cannot
see a temporary license in RDP-1 -> License Manager.
Pls help to solve this issue.

Hi,
As per my research by default there are 2 remote session available for administrative purpose only. Once you want more than 2 remote session for user to connect we need to purchase RDS CAL (as you know), activate the license server and then configure the purchased
RDS CAL with the help of MS Clearing house. There is no way to assign the temporary license, but when you install the RD License server, activate it and once user will get login by default will get user temporary license for specified days such as 60. Within
that time you need to purchase the CAL and complete rest process. You can get more information from following article.

Allow PDF for one user and expire after 1 year?

My company produces ~300 page medical reports that we deliver in PDF form. We feel we are losing money because some companys purchase one report under a single license (instead of a corporate/multiuser license) to save money and share it with their entire company anyway.
Is it possible to have both of these features:
1) Have a PDF be locked to whatever computer opens the file for the first time, so it can not be opened from another computer?
2) Have the PDF expire after one year so it can not be opened?
I currently own Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional and Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional. If there is additonal software/addons that can be purchased to acheive both these features I will pay for it. Please advise!

What you're asking for goes beyond what a document-based feature can deliver. Items like audit trails, document expiration, etc. usually require a server in the workflow. LiveCycle provides those features.
As far as document locking goes, in order to lock it you need to provide the end user with a key. You still need to end up trusting the end user with that key whether it's a certificate (for sig workflows), passwords (for encryption workflows), and so on.
I'm not up to date on what Adobe is offering in the Cloud, but perhaps there's a way to store the doc online behind a password and with no download capability but with a set expiration date. Still, if your clients are not trustworthy, then . . .

Even though I have confirmed the message by pressing ok the message window is not closing anymore, hence can't use anz other program of the I-Pad 2 anymore. Does anzbody in the forum experienced anything similar? If yes what is the solution to it?

Quit all apps and restart the iPad. Then try the video in the video app.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If by some chance you cannot go to the home screen, force quit iTunes by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears. Let go of the sleep button and then press and hold down on the home button until iTunes closes. Then restart the iPad as described above.
