  • Please update the functional specifications for Vendor Balance Report

    Dear All,
Please update the functional specifications for Vendor Balance Report with
    proper descriptions.
    Please include
    1. How your selection screen should look like..
    2. Output format ( in an excel sheet)
    3. Logic for every field in the output format (viz. .. how do link the
vendors from the selection screen to the BKPf and BSEG tables, how do you
find open and closed items in BSEG , etc.)
Please avoid statements like 'The total value of all the break-up should
tally with the balance as shown in FBL1N for a given vendor for the given
    day.'
You need to give the logic for the FBL1N, in that case.

    Rama Mohan

    Hello again,
Regarding having them update the specs, one can dream. Dreams are free. LOL. Hopefully the memory makers will update their specs as more makers start supporting a large memory configuration.
The 4GB sticks I am using are http://shop.kingston.com/partsinfo.asp?ktcpartno=KTL-TP667/4G
I did not do an extended test of the sticks in my MBP. Their home is in the ThinkPad I have because it is running Windows Server 2008 with Hyper-V.
As you can see from the link above, these little suckers are pricey. But consider the price of 2GB SoDIMMs were $950 when they entered the market a couple of years ago. The price will drop.
I asked the Kingston rep that sent these to me if online sites like newegg.com would have them soon. She indicated no, but the corporate buying sites like CDW and Zone would. So check around. They just started shipped a couple of weeks ago so be patient.
If you have any other questions, please stop by http://blogs.technet.com/keithcombs/archive/2008/07/05/testing-my-apple-macbook- pro-with-8gb-of-ram.aspx and ask there. I'll see them much more quickly.

We are planning to adopt for ABAP program to transfer data from Time Recording System to SAP. Can anyone provide me with the functional specifications I should be providing to the ABAP consultants. Also please provide the Standard format we should follow to give Functional Specs to the ABAP consultants.

    Dear Christopher,
Our customer has existing Time Recording terminals(TRT). These TRT's do not have an interface with SAP. The data is downloaded in "text" format from the TRT. We are planning to develop a BDC for the data transfer. I am required to give the Functional Specs for this purpose. If possible please give me a  copy of the functional specs prepared for data transfer from TRT to SAP.

  • Preparing Functional Specifications

    Hi Gurus,
How can we write functional specifications for any functionality to be implemented in CRM.
For example I want to prepare functional specification for making "External reference field" read only in crmd_order transaction.
Please let me know. Also if anybody has a template for the same please fwd me the same.
    Regards
    Yogesh

    hi Deepa,
this field is not in master data. It tells to the system, when you press save, how many assets has to be created (by default 1). If you enter 10 for example, than 10 assets will be created (you can enter different decriptions and serial numbers, but the rest will be the same)
    hope this helps

  • Functional Specifications for Reports

    Hi All,
Can anybody pls. share with me any helpful material which will direct me create Technical Specifications from Functional Specifications
    Thanks In Advance
    Regards
    PPMM

    Hi,
When you convert the Functional requirement into technical Requirement you have to prepare the following document.
    1) Data Staging (Transfomation and Update Rule)
    2) Data Modelling (MDM and ERM Model)
    3) Data Flow
    4) Infoobject List (Compare with datasource fields)
    5) Reporting Requirement.
You can used the Top Down Approach or bootom down approach for Modelling.
From Reporting Perspective come to cube and infoobject List.Top Down approach.
Or from the datasource Fields design the Infoobject List and start from there..
    this document can be useful...
    http://help.sap.com/bp_biv335/BI_EN/documentation/SolutionScope_EN.doc
In BW Technical means the person involved in the configuration part i.e design and functional means the person working after the design level that means Production.
Functional specs would be normally prepared by the client or functional guys and the technical specs are the ones prepared by you that is what are the infoobjects, cubes to be used etc..
System specifiactions are technical settings of BW GUI and other system related aspects.
In production support normally you see functional specs on which you'll be given tickets for any issues.
I hope it will help you.
    thanks

  • Functional specifications on F-32 residual payment

    Hello,
I need Functional specifications on F-32 residual payment. If some one has that then please share it with me.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rajesh Kumar Mantri.
Moderator: This is standard core SAP transaction with no 'functional specifications'.

    Hi,
What exactly do you need to know about F-32?
When you do residual clearing, it clears the original document and opens a new line item for that customer for the remaining value.

  • Request  for sample Functional Specification for BDC to upload PA40 or PA30

    Hi Experts
I need to Write a Functional specification to Guide My ABAP team member to write a BDC for uploading data in PA40.
It would be great if somebody could spare me one .
    Thanks in advance

    <u>[email protected]</u>

    Hi Rajeev,
Your company might be having standard format of FS.
Writing a FS for a BDC is not that tough job. You need to provide some basic information such as the file structure to be used in BDC, Number of fields in the file, which fields on the screen need to be populated (you can get the fields technical name by doing F1 on the field).
I think you can use this as a guideline to write your own FS.

  • Inputs for  reveiwing Functional specification to prepare TS document

    Hello Gurus
Good day to you. Now i have  a requirement for reviewing the functional specification. I have few FS documents and i want to review them and let my manager know whether those FS documents are having the required information to start up to write a TS document or not. if it is not having sufficient information or if i require more information or lack of information in FS to start up TS preparation, i need to inform my lead. This is my requirement.
Here i require your suggestions or inputs which i should take care while reviewing the existing Functional specification. Please provide your inputs as per your experience.
This is going to help me a lot.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Raj

    Hi Raj,
While reviewing the FS below are the key points which you note:
    1. FS contains explanation of the functionality.
Functionality which you are trying to convey to the technical team to build
    2. Details of the mapping tables if any
Mapping tables from legacy - SAP or SAP - upstream if any with the table info and applicability
    3. Validity of specific values or length -
Validation if specific dates/char/numbers for fields required in SAP.
    4. Analysis of any additional dependency for the FS
Any open clarification, requirements which would be a dependency for the FS (Example Input file)
Do let me know if you need any further info.
    Regards,
    MKS

  • External function specification

    Hi All!
    (Envs: Centos 5.2, Oracle 10.2.0.4)
According to documentation a developer should provide RETURN clause in the external function parameters declaration.
But I faced a conflict with additional extproc specific parameters , INDICATOR for example...
Option 1 (no INDICATOR variable in specification)
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION MyTest(Lang IN VARCHAR2, Form IN VARCHAR2) RETURN VARCHAR2
    AS EXTERNAL
    LIBRARY Lemma_Ext
    NAME "MyExtTest"
    LANGUAGE "C"
    WITH CONTEXT
PARAMETERS(CONTEXT,Lang string, Form string, RETURN string)
and it works OK with it's "C" prototype
    +char * MyExtTest (char Lang, char Form);+
Option 2 (with INDICATOR, doesn't work):
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION MyTest(Lang IN VARCHAR2, Form IN VARCHAR2) RETURN VARCHAR2
    AS EXTERNAL
    LIBRARY Lemma_Ext
    NAME "MyExtTest"
    LANGUAGE "C"
    WITH CONTEXT
PARAMETERS(CONTEXT, Lang string, Form string, RETURN INDICATOR short, RETURN string)
and it is not works with following "C" prototype:
+char * MyExtTest (char Lang, char Form, short *return_ind);+
    Option 3 (with INDICATOR, works!):
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION MyTest(Lang IN VARCHAR2, Form IN VARCHAR2) RETURN VARCHAR2
    AS EXTERNAL
    LIBRARY Lemma_Ext
    NAME "MyExtTest"
    LANGUAGE "C"
    WITH CONTEXT
PARAMETERS(CONTEXT, Lang string, Form string, RETURN INDICATOR short)
and it works like a charm with the same "C" prototype as in the Option 2:
+char * MyExtTest (char Lang, char Form, short *return_ind);+
Just removing "RETURN string" was a correct solution!
And I found a couple of examples of successful external functions (with extra parameters) from Metalink. All these examples don't contain RETURN <type> in function specification.
So, where is the source of misunderstanding?
    Regards,
    Andrew.

    Hi AndresG,
Are you using O2A cartridges or not?
If you are not, by default, the fulfillment states are in the following location --
    a) external fulfillment state -- /ControlData/Functions/<Function>/orderItem/ExternalFulfillmentState
    b) composite fulfillment state (i.e. output of FS composition) -- /ControlData/OrderItem/OrderItemFulfillmentState for order items, and /ControlData/OrderFulfillmentState for overall order.
Note that mapped fulfillment states are not persisted.
These defaults are configurable by creating FulfillmentStateModule.xquery file, and have XML catalog include the file. In fact, this is how O2A cartridges override these defaults; the fulfillment states are stored in /OrderLifeCycleManagement area.
Yes, you can update the external fulfillment state during function execution -- in your automation of the function, simply return the external fulfillment state in your xquery automator.
To send composite fulfillment state to CRM, yes, you need to create a Data Changed Event Notification -- set it to trigger by Composite Fulfillment State change.
