Regarding Rework (by inserting Ref oper set)

hello sap gurus,
i am confused regarding rework ,If we do the rework by inserting the ref oper set in the last in the operation overview of the production order itself than whole component qty reqd for producing the order header material will pass through that ref oper set but the fact is that for only rework qtys we require that ref oper set(but it will charge activity cost to all component qtys). So there would be improper costing(improper target cost) and scheduling.
And while doing confirmation through co11n,for ref oper set which we have inserted in operation sequence at last there we have to confirm only rework qty and for the last oper you have to goods receipt for whole qyt.Am i correct?

Hi
1. Create a production order confirmation of original order with rework qty+yield qty = confirmation qty,Do GR  for only yield qty
2. For the rework qty create  Rework order using reference operation set.
3. In the Settlement rule for rework order , assigned with settlement receiver as original order.
4.Carry out goods issue for components of rework order..
5   Confirm rework order using  co11n
6.   Do GR for original order with rework qty ., teco both orders.
7. Settle first the rework order
8 settle original order
As settlement is doing for orginal order,  there is no problem in costs,, costs of the rework qty will also capture.
Please come back still if you have any doubts..
Otherwise close the thread by rewarding the points,

  • Insert Ref Operation Set when routing already in Prod Order

    Dear exeperts,
Is is possible to insert a Ref Operation Set after a routing has been inserted in a prod order? I am getting the error Message no. CO892 which I can't resolve. I know for service orders there is not such constraint.
Thanks in advance to share your wisdom!

Ref. operation set 50000148 is not valid according to the selection conditions
Check why the reference operation set does not meet the selection conditions:
    1. Is it valid on 2010/07/16?                   OK
    2. Is lot size  within its validity area?     OK
    3. Is the selection ID for routing selection (Customizing: order type- dependent parameters) of a type that allows reference operation sets to be selected?              OK parameter routing selection = 5
    4. If the reference operation set has a change number, is it valid for production on 2010/07/16? OK

All right, just found what I was missing: a record in config OPEB.

    Friends,
I m doing Trigger points in CO11N. Production Order quantity is 10. While confirmation yield qty. 7 & rework qty is 3. After saving trigger point function pop up but after pop up of ref. operation set, i m selecting Group and Task list type, system displayed *Ref. operation set ********** is not valid according to selection conditions.*
In CA02 change  routing I hav done all settings of trigger points and created Ref. op. set by CA11.

  • Rework using reference operation set

    Dear Gurus,
Am working in an ECC 6.0 environment.
Want to create rework order using reference operation set.
    Master data created:
    BoM
Reference Operation set to which the header material is assigned to which a BoM is assigned.
The settings in OPL8 for order type ZXXX are:
    Production version :  manual selection
    Routing:
    Application: Routing
Selection Id: RW (priority 01, task list type 'S', and usage 1)
    Task list type: S
    Routing Selection: 4
    BoM:
    Application: PP01
Create a production order (CO01), with order type ZXXX. The system asks to select the task list group once the order quantity and dates are entered. On selection of the Group for the reference operation set system generates an error 'No valid BoM exsists for Material xxxxx Plant xxxx'.
SAP helps says - A reference operation set cannot be used directly in production.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Your expert advice please.
    Tarang

Dear first create a reference operation set go to CA11 just press enter without entering anything then enter plant, usage, status and lot size in component allocation you can select the required BOM and assign with the operation.
and create the order in CO07 enter the plant and order type in next screen don't give any material code give description rework and give the quantity to be reworked and in components give the required components for consumption during rework before this you need to give the reference operation set group and task list in the popup and in settlement rule maintain the category and settlement receiver and save the order.
You can confirm the order in CO15 by providing the order number and enter the yield quantity to confirm and save.
Please note that during this rework order confirmation, only Goods issue will happen based on the input given in the components tab rework order and NO GOODS RECIEPT will happen.
    Cheers

  • Routing & Reference Operation Set

    Hi All,
Could you guys please help me to understand the following will be grateful
What is the difference between Routing & Reference Operation Set?
When the Routing will be used?
When Reference Operation Set will be used?
What are all the advantages and disadvantages behind using Routing & Reference Operation Set in prodution?
At which Scenario Reference Operation Set is must?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
Routing defines the sequence of operations that should be carried at a work center to make up a product.
In the operation you define the values for setting the machine and the machine time to prodduce a finished product for a particular base qty.
Routing is one of task list in PP module to carry out the production of finished and semi finished parts. it consists operation sequence which requires for manufacture finsihed and semi finished parts like operation 10. 20, 30...
Ref operation sets is use as template to create routing , rework order.
    These are four types...
    1) Routing and Ref operation sets (used is discreate manufacturing).
    2) Rate routing and Ref rate routings (used in repetative manufacturing).
    3) Recipe (used in process manufacturing)
Ref operation sets are repeated operations can be use for several products. you have use these always in rotuings.
For documents and PDF files you can download from the below link
    http://mysapbi.blogspot.com/2007/01/sap-help-in-pdf-files.html
    CA01 = Standard Routings
    CA11 = Reference Operation Sets
CA21 = Rate Routings (used in Repetitive manufacturing only)
CA31 = Reference Rate Routing (used in Repetitive manufacturing)

  • Selection problem of Ref op set while converting plnd to prod order

    Hi PP Professionals,
Even though we have maintained 'manual slection (4)'  for Tast list type- S (ref operation set), we are getting error  'Ref Op set is not valid' and in error help 'error in reading PP master data'.
Since the Routing is same for all the finished products, we want to assign Ref Op Set directly while creating production order.
We have already maintained parameters in 'order-type dependant parameters' and in 'task list selections's default and automatic selection'

    Hi Senthilkumar,
I really appreciate for your kind Hint of SEL ID.
I created and assigned new 'Sel Priority' to the SEL ID same as for Routing.
Now while converting Planned order to Production order system is asking for Reference operation set as there is no such need of Routing as I already mentioned in previous post.

  • Prod.Order Creation- Using Reference Operation set.

    Hi
While creating a production order of particular order type, after entering the quantity and order finish date as today's date(05.06.2007),backward scehduling,it's showing no routing found for the material (as we are using REM-Repetitive manufacturing,we are having rate routing) ,and in the same mesaage box itself I choosed the Reference operation set(that I have created today) and entered the  group no,and after entering its showing me an error as <b>Ref. operation set 50000008 is not valid according to the selection conditions</b>,
So I created a routing for the same material nd in MRP4 view of the same material under for selection method i kept blank(Selection by order qunatity) and tried to create Prod.order, and there was no problem, but if the same i'm trying to create using Reference operation set I'm not able to create the Production order.
Kindly give me a solution for this,Is there anything to do with order type dependent parameters of the particular order type?
    Thanks & Regards
    Raj

    Hi,
    Is your problem solved ?
One more solution to create a order with reference operation set,is to use a trigger point.
Once you create a reference operation set.
Use T.code co31 to create a trigger point, chosoe create order with reference & choose a system status eg: PCNF. & click the user parameter tab.
The system will aks for the reference operation set no & group counter.
Then assign this reference operation set to the routing operation.
When you do partial confirmation of this operation, this will trigger the generation of a order.

    Hi Fendy,
could you look inside the audit trail in the enterprise manager to see if the transformations is really working?  For what I see, I think there is an error in your xslt. It should be like this:

  • Reference Operation Sets

    Hello Everybody,
Can someone tell what is meant by a Reference Operation Set?
Where can we create it and how can we assign it to the Routing?
What are the important feilds to be passed to it?
    Please help. Its urgent.
    Thanks,
    Shashi Devi.

    Hi,
A Reference operation set can be created using transaction CA11.
Here we can enter a set of operations needed.
Then in CA01 (create routing) from the operations screen we can add the reference operation set & all the operations from the reference operation set will be copied to this routing.
Hence whenever we need to create a routing with similar set of operations we can use reference operation set.
Also to create a rework order we can use reference operation set with the help of trigger point.

    Senthilkumar

  • Assignment of Reference Operation set to routing.

    Dear Experts,
This is regarding the assignment of a reference operation set to a routing. We have one ref. op. set which is applicable for some 30 variants of our products. Now, we need to assign this ref. op. set to the existing routing. The follwoing points are to be taken care of:
    1. Set up, m/c time, etc are allocated based on the operation number.
    2. Change in the operation number leads to the change in these values. This is not acceptable.
Now when assigning the ref.  op. set to the routing using the t. code. CA02, the systems asks for operation increment  say 0010 (mandatory field). If we accept this value, the operation number  follows a different sequence. Consequently, the setup, m/c times gets upset. This is due to upsetting of the operation number sequence.
How can we assign the ref. op. set to the routing without upsetting the operation number sequence i.e., copying the operations as it is in the ref. op. set.
    Pl. suggest.
    Regards,
    Pradeep Santara

    Dear Sharavan,
Probably, i have not been able to explain the issue. I will give it another try..
Say for the ref. Op. Set the operation sequence is 12, 14, 19...so on
But when we assign the Ref. Op. set to the routing CA02, the at the intial screen we come across one mandatory field "operation srl. no. increment", if we use 0010 in that field . The system copies the ref. Op. set with operation serial nos. starting 00,0010,0020 onwards and not in the order of 12, 14, 19....so on...
If still not clear pl. revert

  • Phantom, Assembly, Reference Operation Set

    Hi All,
I am always having a little confusion with follwoings, so could you please help me to understand clearly will be grateful.
    What is Phantom ?
    What is Assembly ?
What is the difference between Phantom & Assembly ?
What is Reference Operation Set ?
What is the difference between Routing and Reference Operation Set ?
At which situation Reference Operation Set is used instead of Routing in SAP?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Madhan,
    Phantom
Phantom assembly is a logical grouping of material.
Design point of view it is assembled.
Physically not assembled, but logically it is assembled.
    Ex: CAR
    BOM Header: CAR
    Item: ENGINE
For ENGINE: Items are cylinder, piston, crankshaft....Here engine is phantom... while manufacturing car, engine is mandatory so if u assign engine as phantom it won't create planned order for engine. We can direct issue the materials (such as cylinder, Piston, CS) to car; by that time it reduces the work of issue and receiving goods to engine assembly.
But if u want engine as spare parts that time u can create planned independent requirement for engine and u can stock as ordinary processes...
In material master of MRP 2 view spl. procurement key - 50.
or Assign in BOM item - make tick mark in phantom assmbly.
If you create in material master wherever the material, system consider as a phantom.
If you mark in BOM, only that particular BOM, system consider as a phantom.
There is no stocking of phantom material

  • WRT160N - LELA FAILED - ERROR - MSG_100_000_003 & Object ref not set to an instance of an object

First of all I would like to say I'm very disappointed with Cisco/Linksys support. I made 6 phone calls and spent about 3 hours on hold and being connected to someone else over the course of about two weeks. The Tech supportin this particular case was the worst I have ever experienced. Regarding the problem - make sure that you do not have any items in the start up such as Linksys EasyLink Advisor and in particular nmctxth unchecked. Also, check that your Anti-Virus does not have the app blocked. I was instructed to uninstall and reinstall about six different times - which I did. This never solved anything. Then I notice a program named "Pure Networks", this appears to be app associated with LELA. The best I could tell this does not get uninstalled and reinstalled like the rest of the program. So I chased the app down to Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Pure Networks\Setup\PlatformSetupInstaller_0.msi . Executed this program which initiated an install program for the same and selected the REPAIR option from the three options (Repair\Modify\Uninstall). After about two or three minutes the program indicated the Repair had completed and the PC needed to be rebooted. Which I did and now the program (LELA) works with no issues. I think when you uninstall and reinstall the LELA program this never gets executed. So when you manually run the program it actually gets executed. I performed this Repair when the file: PlatformSetupInstaller_0.msi was selected and actually executed. The following error messages were indicated before the issue was resolved:
    Error
    MSG_100_000_003
Cannot find Platform service, make sure that the service is correctly installed on your machine.
    Error
Object ref not set to an instance of an object.
    Error
    1628
These errors occured when various items were selected in LELA and after reboot on reinstall. And by the way LELA would be blank with no Network Map present. If you go through the log files under the Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Pure Networks and C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Linksys\Lela, then search for the word fail, you will turn up these errors in bits and parts. The registry key:  4CDCB1A1-87EE-49AB-9A9F-E270FC5DB823 led me to the Pure Networks program or I might not have figured it all out.
All of these error messages are related to the log files in either folder indicated above.
I hope this helps everyone - again the support was pitiful and I really expected more.

The Linksys Link Network Advisor (LELA) sometimes works, most of the times does not on our "House-PC"; we have to install the disk again when it gets stuck to make it work. Also, in order to make changes to our network, we can do it easily on its web site, but the LELA will not synchronize it sometimes; so we have to go again and put the disk in to re-install LELA and "synchronize" it; though in reality, it is as if we are installing LELA for the first time, everytime we want to make changes to our network, by the way, a real pain!! After reading the advice above, I also installed Sisco's (the Linksys parent company) Network Magic software and now all my computers in my network work seamessly, and perfectly well. I can even share my printers now!! Thanks for this advice; very helpful indeed.
    a happy network administrator

  • Oracle 11g: Oracle insert/update operation is taking more time.

    Hello All,
In Oracle 11g (Windows 2008 32 bit environment) we are facing following issue.
    1) We are inserting/updating data on some tables (4-5 tables and we are firing query with very high rate).
    2) After sometime (say 15 days with same load) we are feeling that the Oracle operation (insert/update) is taking more time.

Query2: How to rectify the problem.

    Hi Nicolas,
    Just a short explanation:
If you have a table with 1 column (let's say a number). The table is empty and you have an index on the column.
When you insert a row, the value of the column will be inserted to the index. To insert 1 value to an index with 10 values in it will be fast. It will take longer to insert 1 value to an index with 1 million values in it.
My second example was if I take the same table and let's say I insert 10 rows and delete the previous 10 from the table. I always have 10 rows in the table so the index should be small. But this is not correct. If I insert values 1-10 and then delete 1-10 and insert 11-20, then delete 11-20 and insert 21-30 and so on, because the index is sorted, where 1-10 were stored I'll now have empty spots. Oracle will not fill them up. So the index will become larger and larger as I insert more rows (even though I delete the old ones).
The solution here is simply revuild the index once in a while.
    Hope it is clear.

This is a misconception of how indexes are working.
I would suggest the reading of the following interasting doc, they are a lot of nice examples (including index space reuse) to understand, and in conclusion :
