Rejection and scrap during production

hi
During production process many child items get wasted and the finished product received is lesser than the planned.in system where we can reduce the child items during receiving?and also the the scrap or rejected items should go in other wharehouse.Please solve it.

Dear Sir,
At the time of Report Completion, instead of complete ,  you can choose the option reject the parent item. Here you can also select different warehouse.

  • Accounting for scrap in production

    Hi all,
    My client produces plastic bags. In the BoM's they have factored in the average quantity of scrap to include in the BoM but have only put in the actual costs (not including the scrap costs). When receipting against a production order at the end of each day, they want to capture good finished goods and also the scrap quantity for the day. The scrap needs to go to the scrap warehouse a zero value so as to leave the production costs in the finished goods warehouse. How would I handle capturing the scrap at zero value into the different warehouse?

  • Milestone confirmation and scrap operation

    Good morning :o)
    I created a new Control Key u2018ZMILu2019 which is a direct copy from our standard control key u2018PP01 u2013 Automatic Goods Receiptu2019 but with the Milestone Confirmation indicator set.
    I then created a new routing for material X, added 2 operations:
    0010 u2013 V1 u2013 PP02 (No Auto GR)
    0030 u2013 V1 u2013 ZMIL (Auto GR + Milestone) (I made a mistake and had to delete 0020, hence 0030)
    I then processed a confirmation against 0030 and all looked fine, it back-flushed the correct material and attracted the correct costs to the MAC/LAB activities assigned against each operation.
    I then processed a scrap confirmation against operation 0010, it correctly issued another 261 for the appropriate back-flush material/qty but it didnu2019t attract any extra activity cost for the quantity posted in the confirmation, do you know why this is? I assume itu2019s likely a setting against control key ZP02?

    OK after some testing I have found the following:
    If I scrap via CO11N everything is updated as required but if I go via the SAP console (LM01) and scrap the product I find the following:
    Running transaction CO14, I see the scrap Qty, if I then go into details I can see the Qty has been updated but the activities have not!!
    If I scrap with CO11N and follow the above process the activities are being updated against the scrap qty value.
    A little lost on this one, any ideas would be appreciated.

    How can we configure the following Business Scenerios :
    1. Material is Transfer to production floor with reference to BOM /  Production Order from main store
    2. During production - Some material is rejected because found faulty
    3. Rejected Material is sent to Quality for inspection ( the same material is inspected by the Quality at the time of GR ,but may be found faulty in production floor)
    4. Quality Department do the inspection and found some quantity may be used after some rework and remaining quantity is rejected and send to Main stores to return to Supplier
    Pl let us know the steps how this can be configure into the system.

    Solution:Here for the rejected material take back that material through reversal movement type.
    3. Rejected Material is sent to Quality for inspection ( the same material is inspected by the Quality at the time of GR ,but may be found faulty in production floor)
    Issue this material to quality through transfer posting (from unrestricted to quality inspection) using movement type 322.
    4. Quality Department do the inspection and found some quantity may be used after some rework and remaining quantity is rejected and send to Main stores to return to Supplier
    Once it's cleared from quality department here create inspection lot & thorugh usage decision clear that stock as unrestricted stock & again issue that material to production.

    Dear Amit,
    Assume in CO01,once after entering the total order quantity the system proposes the scrap quantity field separately,now
    remove this quantity for scrap field and press enter and once again adjust the total quantity and check for what quantity the
    system is proposing the BOM components.
    check whether this works for your requirement.

  • Co products and by products during production process

    hi,
    I have a production scenario where in both co products as well
    by products exists during production process.
    We can maintain co products by choosing the indicator in material master and in BOM but how should i maintain the by products?
    And also, co products and by products produced will undergo further production process with different operations, in this scenario how I can include these operations and products in my production planning? and how the costs are calculated?
    Can any one please help in this regard.

    For Co-product just by choosing the indicator in material master and in BOM.
    So when ever u confirm the production order co- product GR done automatically through 101 movement type.
    For By-product
    1) u have to enter the byproduct code in the BOM with -ve sign if ur by-product is fixed qty.
    2) If ur by-product is varying qty then u have to post the by product qty through MIGO 531 movement type against the production order.

    in SAP point of view of both are same .
    But business process point of view it diiffers according to the industries
    By product:
    To make material A , we have to process material C and D . Apart from A , we get the by product E ,which woud be used for other purpose .
    eg:Chemical ,pharmaceutical industries
    To make SOAP  we have to mix Oil and soda . along with soap ,we gets glycerine as a byproduct.
    Scrap:
    This is mainly in mechanical industries.
    For when you make bolt,you will get some scrap ,this you can sell it.
    SAP point of view
    1.if the scrap/by product known in advance ,it should me maintained as negative in the BOM
    2. if you want to maintain inventory for that scrap/by product  ,use appropriate material type like ROH
    3. if it is non-valuated/non-stock ,maintain it accordingly in the BOM
    Inventory movement
    1.Move type 545 O  used by the system to generate scrap/by prodect and it is still *stock of material provided to vendor *
    2. To get into our plant use move type 542.
    3.Under consumption means in scrap ,it is over generated than in the BOM .system uses mov type 545 O +
    4.over consumption means ,it is less generated compared to BOM qty,system uses move type 546 O -

    As per my undestanding
    If you want to hit different GL for same material type for e.g. GR for PO and GR for Production order.
    you can define split valuation, Suppose material A has two Split valuation External Procurement or Inhouse Production.
    Now For valuation type External Procurement assign valuation class 1000 and for Inhouse Production 2000.
    Now in GBB for valuation modifier BSX assign two separate GL
    Like
    GBB     BSX     1000           120000(External Procurement)
    GBB     BSX      2000           130000(Inhouse Production)
    Solution 2 :-
    Define other movement type for Production create and create a new event key and assign GL to that one.

  • Order confirmation and scrap gene in SL

    In Production Process - Two type sof scrap generate
    1. planned - which is maintained in BOm and update with 531 mvt type
    2. Unplanned - which is booked in scrap field while doing Confirmation. Suppose my Order material Y broke on the way/while doing maching etc , it is booked in the field Scrap while doing confirmation. ( No where found in Inventory)
    here case 2 , that scrap mat F(physically happned during prod process) is also sold . So an alternative method mentioned was with 501 will update scrap material F and ref made as Prd Order Number(order mat Y).
    It is fine , some how it meets the business req.BUt now they want with ref to confirmation But confrimation field is not avilable in Display screen for 501.
    I know 501 is not for this , but for the business [purpose it was mapped like this .
    551 will update o cost centre and not in INV
    So kindly help me to upload the scrap with 501 with Production confirmation and not with Production Order

    Dear,
         Raise Dummy production order i.e with out material in CO07 T-code, put total qty as 1,if u want to settle the order put settlement rule if not simply come back and go to Component over view and put Material (Srap Material ) and give required qty in minus sign
    EX:-10qty. put item categery as L
    save the order and do conformation in co11n the stock will build in inventary

  • Inspection during production

    Hi All,
    Please clarify  my doubt on Quality inspection during production.
    We are using inspection type - "04 - Goods receipt inspection from production" for inspection during production.
    Once after inspection if we reject a sub assembly for rework and move the part to block stock, we raise a notification to the concern department.
    Now after production does a rework, how can we receive the sub assembly back to unrestricted used through Quality route and reflect the same in my notification.
    If there is some other standard process of inspection during production and rework then please throw some light on it.

    QM>Qualty Notif.>Notif. processing>Additional notif. Functions>Define Action Box
    In the next pop-up screen select Define functions for the Action box
    To research this I would look at notification Q1.  Select Q1.  Double Click on Activities.
    Double click on 0035 - post goods movement.
    you will see this action uses FM QM06_FM_TASK_GOODS_MOVEMENT_2.  It is configured to run a second module upon saving called QM06_FM_TASK_GOODS_MOVEMENT_STEP2.
    Click on the blue information button to read more about these FM's.
    Copy these FM's and have an APAB'er modify them for your use.  Add an action to your particular notification using these the new Z FM's.

  • Use a different movement type for Scrap in Production Order Confirmation

    Hello gurus. I have the following question.
    Is it possible to have the "Scrap" quantity during Production confirmation in a separate movement type?
    Currently, when I type in the "Yield" and "Scrap" quantities, both of them are summarized into one backflush line under Movement Type 261. So for example: Yield: 10 pieces and Scrap 5 pieces; I only get one Goods Movement for 15 pieces with MvT 261.
    The requirement is that whatever is typed under "Scrap" goes on a different movement type (e.g. 551), because then it will be easy to follow (inventory-wise) how many pieces were used in production and how many were scrapped.
    Is it possible?

    Well, I notice that when I type a quantity in the "Scrap" field, the difference with "Yield" is that I simply don't get the produced material on stock (in the case of the last operation with a GR for instance). I just get the backflushed quantity.
    But yes, I guess in this transaction, I'm scrapping the produced material, the components are still issued. I was just wondering if perhaps they could be split in 261 for normal backflush and 551 for backflush that didn't generate any finished assembly.

  • Quality samples during production

    Hi gurus,
    I have 2 quires so please help.
    1. I have a requirement that my customer (for costing reasons) wants to monitor the samples taken during production.
    How can we monitor this....I tried to confirm scrap quantity @ the phase of quality, but confirming scrap is not allowed, beside, he needs to know the quality samples separately from the production scrap.
    2. Another problem is the sample size in the inspection lot, lets say it was planned to take 3 samples but actually we took 4 samples, how can we update this number in the inspection lot.

    The exit depends on what you want to actually do and when.  You may find that you need the exit to just kick off a program that runs in batch a few minutes later to do what you want it to to avoid locks.  You could use and of the following possibly.

      QPAP0003      Conversion of sample unit of measure to material unit

    Once the sample size is calculated I don't think there is a way to update it once resutls recordings have started.

  • Scraps during PP Order confirmations

    Hi Gurus
    I need to un-connect movement 261 from Scrap declaration during PP Order confirmation.
    This becuase my PP Department produces little plastic components and scraps are only a lettle part of row materials consumed during PP Operation. We want to declare the scrap during confirmation only for statistic purpose, but we don't want that this declaration will post automatically 261 movements. Is it possible ???

    I'll try to explain better my needs.
    We use the backflashing mode for post autopmatically consumptions (M.Type 261) during PP Order confirmations (CO11N).
    During the production (we mould little plastic components) we have:
    a) Fine Products (Yelds using AFRUD-LMNGA)
    b) Bad Products (Scraps using AFRUD-XMNGA)
    c) Other residues of plastic material
    Now we're confirming a) and b) quantities, and the system post automatically 261 movements for Backflushing consumptions.
    We wolud like to post:
    a) Fine products (and reletive 261 consumptions)
    b) Scraps (WITHOUIT 261 consuptions)
    c) Residues + Weight of Scraps (manually at the end of production with MIGO and 261 movement).
    Therefore I'd like to declare scraps during confirmation, without posting (automatycally) the correspondent consumptions (261).
    There's a way to solve my issue ???
