Tahnks a lot for your help
Caterina

I have a Linksys E3000 router and using Cisco Connect. When I go to Parental controls I see network device a few times but I do not know what theyu are. Is there a way to remove device from there or is there a way to find what the mac address is of the device and then is there a way to rename it???

  • Cannot remove books from iTunes after moving to iBooks

I'm not sure if this question belongs to iTunes or iBooks category but since it's related to books I think here is more relevant.
I moved to iBooks long ago and I do not have a "Books" section on iTunes.
But when I plug my iPhone and go to "Sync Books" section, I see a list of books that does not exist in iBooks nor iTunes.
To make sure, I backed up the files and deleted all the books in iBooks but still i see those "ghost" books on "Sync Books" of iPhone.
When I try to sync them, I get the error message saying that those files do not exists hence they can not be synced.
How can I get rid of them?

    Hi Judy,
    Problem solved.
Go into Mail/Acounts and delete you iCloud account.
Now add a new account and type in your details for MobileMe/iCloud.
It should now work. O noticed the default server name is different.
    Hope this helps.
    Yours,
    Charlie

my iPad mini cannot download books from iTunes - help

    Hi, debikay45.
Test to see if you can download a free application from the App Store.  If this was successful, test downloading the book again.  Try closing all open applications and power cycling the device, test the results.  Make sure you have an active Internet connection.  If these results were unsuccessful, see the steps in the article below that refer to iOS.
Isolate the issue: (Mac OS X, Windows, iOS)
Make sure the issue is with the iTunes Store only. (You need an Internet connection to access the iTunes Store).Open a secure website to test if you are online as is necessary for the iTunes Store. This also tests if the main ports 80 and 443 are accessible. If the website works but the iTunes Store does not, it is most likely a firewall blocking the iTunes software or servers. If this is the case, follow the steps in the "Blocked by software firewall" section below.
Test using another device. If possible, another device, ideally on a different network, would help troubleshooting any iTunes Store issues most efficiently. If another device on another network has issues, the iTunes Store may be undergoing maintenance, and will be available soon.
    Test using another network.
Connect your computer or device to another network and testing helps determine the next step. This is also helpful if multiple devices are affected.
If your device can connect to Wi-Fi and a cellular network, larger downloads may not be possible over the cellular network.
If the issue disappears while connected to another network, you may need to work with your support options to open access to:
    itunes.apple.com
    ax.itunes.apple.com
    ax.init.itunes.apple.com
    albert.apple.com
    gs.apple.com
    ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net
    mzstatic.com
Note: iTunes may use the fully qualified version of these addresses for additional security.
iTunes uses well known ports and these ports may need to be opened for iTunes: 80, 443, 3689, 5297, 5298, 5353, 8000-8999, and 42000-42999.
It is critical that your date, time, and time zone be correct:Windows:
Click Start and then click Control Panel.
Click "Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options" and then click Date and Time.
Click the Date & Time tab.
Make sure that the date and time settings are configured to use the current date and time and then click OK.
    Mac OS X:
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
In System Preferences, click Date & Time.
Enable the option to "Set date and time automatically" if it is not.
Click the Time Zone tab and adjust the time zone to match your current location.
    iOS:
From the home screen, tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
If the option exists, turn off Set Automatically.
Verify the time zone and time (in the status bar) are correct for where you are currently.
If not, adjust the incorrect setting accordingly.
If everything was correct and the option exists, turn on Set Automatically.
Remove any restrictions that may be causing the issue:
    Windows:
It is recommended you use iTunes from an administrator account.
Refer to the Help documentation from Microsoft, contact your IT department, or visitsupport.microsoft.com for more information.
You can also check using iTunes Diagnostics if you are recognized as an administrator by iTunes.
    Mac OS X:
It is recommended you use iTunes from an administrator account. To become an administrator account, from the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
    In System Preferences, click Accounts.
You may need to unlock the lock in the bottom-left corner of the window to make changes. If you can unlock the lock, you are already an admin user.
Under the account you are using, it may say "Standard." Enable the option to "Allow user to administer this computer" to make the user an admin account user.
From the Apple () menu, choose Log Out.
Log back in and return to using iTunes. Test to see if the issue is resolved.
iOS: Restrictions can limit your ability to purchase some content. Check restrictions via Settings> General > Restrictions if you're unsure about those settings.
After isolating the issue to iTunes by following the above steps:
If the issue still occurs and iTunes displays an alert message with a specific code, please see the section below titled "Specific Conditions and Alert Messages" for additional troubleshooting steps.
If the issue is still not resolved and there is no specific code or alert message, you can visit the iTunes Store Discussion Board to try to find additional information for help resolving your issue:
You can also contact AppleCare to discuss your support options. Depending on your product’s coverage status, you may need to pay for support.
    iTunes Store Discussion Board (Mac)
    iTunes Store Discussion Board (Windows)
New routers or a new Internet Service Provider (ISP) may limit your ability to connect to iTunes Store. Let your router manufacturer or your ISP know about the ports and servers in this article and confirm that they are compatible.

  • I purchased audio books from iTunes, but they will not sync and play on my iPad.

I purchased several new audio books from iTunes and they will not download to my iPad so I can listen to them How can this be?

    Hello Rex225
The best way to resolve the issue is to remove the music from the iPhone and then download the purchase again using the steps in the following article.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

I bought a book from itunes with my ipad.  after syncing my ipad and iphone the book did not transfer to my iphone.  Any suggestions?  I might add that I an technically handicaped

If the book isn't on your computer's iTunes then you should be able to copy it from the iPad by connecting the iPad to your computer and in iTunes doing File > Transfer Purchases and you can then sync it to the iPhone (connect the iPhone to your computer, select it on the left-hand side of iTunes, and use the Books tab on the right-hand side to select and sync that book). Or you can re-download it directly on the iPhone : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
Another option, if you always want ibooks to download on both devices, is to turn 'automatic downloads' for books 'on' on both : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT453

  • Removing books from library

How do I remove books from my library? I know how to remove books from my purchase.

If you selected to keep the files, they have to be somewhere.
They don't have to be in your iTunes folder though.
That depends of the settings in your preferences.
    Look at the Preferences>Advanced>General.
The 'iTunes Music folder location' is default set to ~/Users/YourUsername/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music.
Music you import from CDs will always be stored in that folder.
Music you've already ripped from CDs (or downloaded from the web) and add to the library later, will only be stored in the 'iTunes Music folder location' if you ticked the checkbox 'Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library'
So if you didn't have that checkbox ticked, your music can be anywhere on the HD.

In the past 6 years I have purchased many books from iTunes. I lost one of them and would like to download it again, however it is not showing up in my purchased screen. All of my music, movies, and shows are showing but none of my books. They do show up in my purchase history, how can I get them back? Help!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
So far as I am aware, books haven't been available for 6 years, so I'm wondering if you mean audiobooks.
Audiobooks are not currently part of the content that can be re-downloaded.

  • Removing songs from itunes without removing them from ipod

Is it possible to remove songs from iTunes without removing them from iPod? When I attempt to delete songs from iTunes I get a warning that they'll be deleted from iPod as well. I've got Manually manage music and videos checked under Options in the Summary window.

You can delete songs from your iTunes/computer hard drive after transferring them to the iPod, and for this you need to set your iPod to manage the iPod content manually.
However, this is an extremely risky option because when (and not if) there comes a time to restore your iPod, which is a very common fix for iPod problems, then all the music would be erased. If you no longer have the music in iTunes (or any other back up), then all that music would be lost.
What if the iPod were lost/stolen/needed repair? Again, the music would lost. I strongly recommend a back up, and if computer hard drive space is in short supply, you should seriously consider an external hard drive. They are not expensive, and the cost is well worth it when compared to the loss of all your precious music.
At the very least back up your music to either cd or dvd before deleting it, particularly any purchased music/videos, as this would have to be bought again if it were lost. See these about backing up media.
How to back up your media in iTunes.
    Buegie's complete back up strategy.
To move music from iPod to computer, check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
There is also CopyPod. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.
If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.

  • I purchased a book from itunes and cannot figure out how to get it on my ipod nano 7.  I cannot find an answer that works.

I purchased an audio book from itunes and cannot figure out how to get it on my nano 7.  I have tried everything.

Have you double checked to make sure these Audiobooks are configured to sync to your iPod from under the iPod's Books configuration tab in iTunes?  This is assuming that the audiobooks are already stored in your iTunes library and appear under the Books category.
To access this configuration tab, plug in your iPod and select it from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes to bring yourself to the iPod's Summary tab. Now locate the Books tab across the top in the main iTunes window and select it. Here you can configure what and how audiobooks are synced to the device.
If you make any changes to this tab, make sure to hit the Apply button on in the lower right hand corner. This will sync the updated changes to your device.

  • I have just download a book from itunes store but, i don't have an iPad to read it. Can anybody help me? Can i convert it? Thanks.

i have just download a book from itunes store but, since i don't have an iPad, i can´t read it or even see it. Can anybody help me? Can i convert it? Thanks.

Every purchase page for an ebook has a section that says "Requirements".  What does that say for your particular book?  That should give you the answer to your question.  Conversion is normally not possible.
But there are some exceptions.  Please provide the Title of the book if you want further help.

I purchased an audio book from iTunes store. It successfully downloaded to my iTunes library< but will not upload to my ipod Touch, even though my computer is authorized. Any suggestions? Any and all are greatly appreciated.

If your iTunes is set on manual sync, then you have to manually drag and drop. Otherwise every time yousyncyou'll get all changes even if you don't want it.

I had purchased an audio book from itunes on my iPad and when I synced my iPad with my computer, my audiobook disappeared. I have already purchased this audiobook, so now I just need to know how to get it back because it is not on iPad anymore. I don't think the audiobook was backed up to icloud but I have the receipt to prove I purchased it. Is there anyway I can get it back?

"If I purchase an audio book in iTunes on my iPad why can't I listen to it on my Mac? "
You can.  Why do you think you cannot?
If you purchased it on your ipad, then you would have to transfer it to your computer. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.
You can then listen to it on your computer.

I purchased audio books from Itunes and they aren't showing up on the purchased list so I can't down load them to my new computer. I have authorized my computer. So any suggestions?

You cannot redownload audiobooks at all.
They will only be where you put them.

  • I have downloaded a Audio Book from Itunes Store, but rencently i have had to reinstall windows, is there any way to re-download the audio book from Itunes, i know that the audio books are one time downloads, but is there any way to get the audio book

If you haven't got a backup copy and if it's still in the store then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download (there is no guarantee that they will) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
