Replacement case? Specific model number?

I am looking to replace both the bottom and top case (Parts 922-8117 and 922-8103) of my Macbook Pro A1229. My question is - can I use the bottom tray from a different model? i.e. the A1212 bottom tray or the A1261 top tray or do they HAVE to be the same? Both these models are also 17" Macbook ones.

I have never attempted such a procedure so I cannot say with any certainty that it will or will not work. Each model of each Mac is different, sometimes the ports are different, wiring may be different and power requirements may be different. iFixit works with all models and would best be equipped to respond to your query.

S10e comes with 10,1" some with 1024x576 , some with 1024x600 ... doesnt matter..
a named in the table S10 is S10-4329 or S10-4333 use same 10,1" as above
but the first S10 - 4321 comes with 10,2" that one wont fit, keep that in mind..

Replacing Broken Screen. Screen Model Number? L300 04P

I am trying to order a new screen for a Toshiba Satellite L300 04P. It was bought at a future shop in canada, needless to say it isnt easy finding the info about it i need. So my question is...
Will an LCD screen for say a L300 11M or L300 14C or other L300 model work for this laptop as long as the screen size of 15.4", and specs 1280x800, WXGA, Glossy, all match the original screen??
I am not sure where to find the screen model number besides the back of the actual screen but I don't feel comfortable takingthe laptop apart myself.

E: Not easy to say why or what happened. Its a physical damage. In this case I assume the notebook was dropped or something likes that.

I replaced my internal hard drive with a brand new drive. My computer is a IMAC G5 Model Number A1076.
When I insert Leopard Install Disk 1 and boot, I get to the point where I am asked to select a drive. Nothing is showing. My hard drive is not recognized.
I Inserted the Mac OS X Leopard Install disc then restarted the computer while holding the C key. When the computer finished starting up from the disc, I chose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. after selecting the language. I did not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer.
My hard drive will not show up in the disk utility menu. What am I missing?

Does it show up in Disk Utility? Is it Formatted for Mac?

HP pavillion 14-n232tu,H/W Parts' CT Number Mismatch Always During Replacement Case

Dear Sir/Mam.
My laptop is HP pavillion 14-n232tu, Windows 8.1
The laptop is under warranty for 3 years including one year accidental damage protection. We paid in advance for extended warranty to three years from Hp Holiday Offers.
Within 3-4 months the display started troubling and i filed a complaint at the customer care. Engineer visited and told that DISPLAY will be replaced. Instead of directly getting the display replaced i faced another problem from your side that, CT. NUMBER DIDN'T MATCH. I had to wait for two week for the resolution of the same from Bangalore office. Somehow, the case got accepted and it got changed.
Case of HARD DISK FAILURE, CT. NUMBER DIDN'T MATCH, Uninformed closing of complaint
Within 3-4 months of the previous complaint, i had to again face boot issues of the laptop. I filed the complaint, engineer visited and told that HARD DISK will be replaced. I thought this time the hard disk will get replaced without any trouble but again the problem came from your side that, CT NUMBER DIDN'T MATCH. The complaint got transferred to Bangalore office and this time it got rejected causing more trouble and UNINFORMED CLOSING of the complaint without even contacting me beforehand. And i had to file another complaint for the same issue
Case of CT number mismatch of hard disk drive, Rejected Case carry forwarded. Not resolved till date, stalled for more than 20 days and still going on.
I has been 7-8 months and already two parts are defected. Above than than i am not provided smooth flow of replacement, every case i have to wait for two weeks to get the previous part replaced. And this case it has been more than 20 days!!
There is problem with this laptop's part and regarding the database of the parts' CT NUMBERS too from your side which is causing even more problem than the defected parts. I expect you to replace my product assuring best of your service as always. Please look forward to my complaint. I have all the case Ids of the above mentioned complaints.

No, if you got a replacement iPhone from Apple it is a refurbished iPhone, hence a special model number.

Macbook Pro3,1 - LCD Replacement - What is the Model Number?

had an accident with my LCD tonight, in which I closed my macbook - with a USB stick still sitting on the keyboard!!!
So, new screen it is, and need to source another screen. I've seen some of the videos on replacing the screen and might be prepared to give it a go - but I'm confused as to what the model number is of the LCD that I am replacing. How can I find this out? Will probably buy from ebay.
I've connected the laptop to a monitor to access the Apple info, but cannot see a model type for the LCD.
I'm pretty sure that it is a backlight LED model that I have. It's a 2.2GHz Intel Core Duo, with a glossy screen. Bought it in September 2007.

i have a dv9000 entertainment PC that had a non charging issue. in doing my own research i discovered this was a mobo problem. i proceeded to remove the mobo to locate the model number and found out that the sticker was missing . is there an alternate way to find out which mobo i have. also when i reassembled the unit it no longer works on the power supply as it used to. would like any feedback on this problem also thanks

Use the dv9000 series Service & Maintenence guide. You will have to peruse the guide to see which one for your series has all of the features yours had. The part numbers are listed. Some are bare bones entry models and others are full featured. Be certain to note which one work with which CPU.
Another way to do it is to use the p/n fom the barcoded sticker , go to the web support portal for your notebook and use the order parts link. Pay close attention to the details in the parts listing.

Satellite Pro A300D - What is the model number for the keyboard?

My husband managed to dislodge a keycap on my keyboard, and broke the white scissor clip that holds hit on...(don't ask me how)
He spoke to the authorised service centre here in Norway, and they sent us replacement scissor clips (actually they sent an old non-functioning keyboard) but the clips are of a different design to the ones on my laptop.
I was wondering if anyone has an idea of the model/serial number of the keyboard used in the Satellite Pro A300D-151 (PSAK9E) so I can get the correct replacement part.
I really don't want to have to replace the whole keyboard when it's just 1 of the scissor clips that is broken...the laptop is only 5 months old.

Sorry buddy but its not possible to exchange some single keys on a keyboard so in this case you must replace the complete keyboard. But normally this should not be so difficult.
Either you exchange the keyboard yourself or you sent the notebook to the authorized service provider.
The model number for the keyboard is not known to me but contact your ASP!! They can order all Toshiba parts and they should know the right part number.

Trying to purchase some additional RAM for my daughters iMac on the stealth. I have the model number #A1174 and the basics - like it's a 20", 2.0GHZ, and that it came with 512 MB installed - can anyone tell me by looking at the model number if this is one of the new Intel Duo Core machines? I want to be sure and order the correct RAM.

For the money, right now there are tons of the 512MB modules of 667MHz SO-DIMM memory being offered on eBay by individual owners who are upgrading their Intel-based iMacs, MacBooks, MacBook Pros and minis, any of which RAM will work in your iMac. Due to the quantity being offered, one can be purchased for a fraction of the amount as new, usually no more than $35 total, including shipping. Many of them have even been removed prior to ever being used.
There are not too many similar 1GB modules available, although some MacBook Pro owners of the new Core 2 Duo are replacing one of two of their base 1GB modules with a 2GB module (the result being 3GB of memory). Those modules will work problem free in a Core Duo.
For quick purchase of best quality, in fact, one of the best current prices appears to be a sale price with free shipping from one of the four main memory suppliers to Apple - U.S. based Micron, whose fully owned subsidiary Crucial retails their memory to the public at crucial.com. I just checked and their # CT500622 is 132.29 plus sales tax. You get a warrranty, which isn't the case with an eBay purchase. I've bought a lot from both of the sources I've recommended, and haven't had a problem with either, so haven't yet needed a warranty.

Where can I get a replacement case fan for a HP Pavillion 180t

The case fan on my 5 year old HP Pavillion 180t has begun to make noise when running. This is the fan mounted to the back of the case, drawing air over the CPU cooling stack. From what I can gather from the HP support site, this model is no longer supported. I need to know the specifics for the fan in order to find a replacement. I would hate to have to purchase another PC because a $20.00 fan was failing. Thanks

The rear mounted fan is commonly called the System Fan. As a reference, it's model number and pic can be found here. The fan is a 3 wire 92mm x 92mm x25mm case can. Amazon price is lower.

If the battery fits, it's the right model.
Any battery that fits into the battery bay is compatible with the iBook (although the color may differ from the color of the iBook's case).

How do I find the model number to my 15" Mac Book Pro?

I have a 15" Mac Book Pro (the one with the keyboard that matches the outer uni-body and track-pad). I am having difficulty in finding the actual model number that is associated with this machine ( as it is second hand). I found the serial number and all the other essential specifications to wit I would have interest for scheduled up-keep. The model number, however, escapes me? Could someone shed some light on this? Apologies in advance for appearing thick headed on the matter. I'm sure it is right in front of me.
