Report Action from SSAS to Report(SSAS or SSRS)

Hello,
I am struggling to pass a parameter from SSAS cube to SSAS or SSRS report from Report Action window.
I am trying like below
condition:[PRODUCT DIM].[PRODUCT].currentmember.Level is [PRODUCT DIM].[PRODUCT].[PRODUCT]
parameter:UrlEscapeFragment([PRODUCT DIM].[PRODUCT].CurrentMember.MemberValue)
or
UrlEscapeFragment([PRODUCT DIM].[PRODUCT].CurrentMember.UniqueName)
or
UrlEscapeFragment(MEMBERTOSTR([PRODUCT DIM].[PRODUCT].CurrentMember))
My problem is,it is opening up the detail report but not passing the parameter value,i tried detail report by keeping
dropdown list or empty box i.e user has to enter value in detail report.Problem is SSAS is picking the right value from
my excel but it is not highlighting the value in detail report.It is been two days i am struggling with this,any help is greatly appreciated!!
thanks

Hi,
In the BW universe connection we are hardcoding the BW System, Client, SID etc. So in DEV universe we'll have some values for these fields and while moving these to QA we need to change these parameters. Is this done in Mappings under LCM.
>>those capabilities are available in the Lifecycle Manager - suggest you download the software and product documentation to learn more about it.
One more question is, Can we change the universe connection by creating a connection to point to QA and using that in universe using UNIVERSE DESIGNER. If we do so, i suppose we need to refresh the universe to see whether there is any change that can happne to the query. Is this recommended?
>> if you are unsure if the queries / sources are identical then you would have to refresh

    There are two dashboards ‘Chart’ and ‘Transaction details’ . I am trying to link from one report(dashboard called 'Chart') to another dashboard(Transaction details).
    In first dashboard (screenshot 1) there is a column called ‘Day’ which is like date., I have set the navigate properties and pointed out the second dashboard as the target ( screenshot3).
    In the second dashboard (screenshot 2) , the request has an prompt on the date column.
    Requirement, Once I click on particular value on ‘Day’ column in first dashboard, it has redirect to the second dashboard. Having said that, it is not only enough to navigate but also pass the value as a parameter to the second dashboard.
    Currently, it is successfully navigating to the second dashboard, but not passing the parameter. Is there any particular step that I have take care here.
    By the way, the column which has prompt has be defined as ‘as prompted’ in its report.
    Any inputs, ideas are appreciated.

    For some reason, I couldn't able to upload the screenshots that I took now in oracle forums.

    Hi Saicand,
    Thanks for you reply. What should I need to check at fx section of the column. Do you mean that the format of the date format should be the same for both the reports.

  • Issues passing drillthrough parameters from a multi-level tablix in SSRS 2008 R2

    Hello,
    I am really struggling with trying creating a drillthrough report that starts with a matrix (tablix)  and passing those  parameters. I am using SSRS 2008 R2.
    Here's my scenario:
    I have a matrix that has mulitple levels where you can drill down. Here an example with all the levels open:
    Active
    Term
    Leave

    I want to drillthrough to another report - Detail Report. As I understand it, I would click the 65 for New York and I would see the detail for the 65 Active people. If I click the 2 under Blois, I would see the 2 terminated people in Blois. My understanding
    for this to work, the Detail Report would need a a parameter for each of the level possibilities in the matrix that I could click: Country, State, City as well as the Status (Active, Term, Leave).
    While I understand about passing parameters, what I don't understand is how to pass the parameters if they are blank. Let's say I clicked 65 for New York, I would need to pass State = New York  Status = Active. But the remaining parameters (Country
    and City  would be null). I know Country doesn't need to be Null in this case.
    My Detail Report has the parameters defaulted to Null, but whether I put the parameters in a Filter for the dataset or in the query itself, I cannot get it to ignore the Nulls.
    As a crazy work-around (I think) I can put in the Where of the query  something along the lines of: this:
            and (a.Country in (@paramCountryCode) or NULL  in (@paramCountryCode) )
    and I would need to do that for each parameter. Usually I have to use 'ALL' instead of NULL, I'm note sure why.
    Additionally, in the Report Action of the Main Report, I need to pass those parameters for each level and their Status. I am also not clear whether or not I need to put in all the parameters on each of the levels (Country, State, City) of the matrix. And if
    I do, do I need to make the expressions an IIF statement stating whether or not they are In Scope?
    All the examples I was able to find, only showed one or maybe two parameters being passed. Doing the way I am trying, seems convoluted, error-prone and tedious. I really hope that I am wrong.
    Is there a better way to approach drilltrough reports from a matrix when there are multiple levels?
    Thank you for the help.
    ~J

    Hi Jenna_Fire,
    According to your description, you have a matrix contains total for each group on each level. Now your requirement is, when you click on any number (data field or total), it will go to the detail report which returns all the detail information of the people
    within the group scope. For example, if you click on the total of Active users in United States, it will return the detail information of Active users in New York and Texas. Right?
    In this scenario, we should set the parameter (@Country, @State, @City) allow multiple values in both main and detail report. And in Default Value (@Country, @State, @City), query out all distinct values. In the textbox which contains
    those total values, when set use these parameters to run the report, we only need to pass the parameters of parent groups. For example, if we click on the total of Active users in New York, we only need to pass Country, State, Status to detail report, and
    in the detail report, the City parameter will use all distinct values (Default Values) because we don't pass the City parameter. We have tested this case with sample data in our local environment. Here are steps and screenshots for your reference:
    1. Create parameter Country, State, City and Status in both main report and detail report. Set both Available Value and Default Value get values from query (Create a dataset for each parameter, use "select distinct [column] from [table]" as query). Set allow
    multiple values for parameter Country, State and City in both reports.
    2. In corresponding textbox, pass appropriate parameters in go to report Action.
    4. Filter data in detail report (in where clause or using filters).
    5. Save and preview. It looks like below:

  • SSAS report action to pass multi-value list of dimention key values to a SSRS report parameter

    This was originally posted on StackOverflow and suggested I try here as well.
    I want to create a report action in an SSAS OLAP cube that generates a list of formatted values to pass into an SSRS report parameter that accepts a multi-valued parameter list.  This would be applied at the
    cell level in the SSAS action.  I have found a solution that gets me most of the way:
    How to Pass Multiple Values from an SSAS Report Drill Through Action to an SSRS Multi-Value Parameter, but not quite.  The action does appear in Excel and works
    if I run the action from a cell that is at or below the dimension attribute I am generating the list for, in this case,
    Account Key.
    Below is a link to a screen capture (unable to embed it due to lack of reputation) showing the action and dimension structure in Excel.  The action works as long as I run it at the
    Account Key level or below.  I want to be able to run it at higher levels, such as
    Account Major and still have it generate all then related Account Key values for the SSRS report parameter.  Running it at the higher
    Account Major level does not trigger the report to run.
    Excel Action Screen Shot:
    http://i.stack.imgur.com/QCGSp.png
    Below is the MDX I am using to generate the value for the report parameter:
    UrlEscapeFragment(
    GENERATE(
    DESCENDANTS(
    [Account].[Account Key].CurrentMember,
    [Account].[Account Key].[Account Key]
    [Account].[Account Key].CURRENTMEMBER.Name,
    "&rp:Account="
    I am hoping that I can somehow modify the MDX above to make it return all the
    Account Keys for any attribute of the Account dimension when ran from any measure cell, not just when ran at self and children of
    Account Key in the pivot table.
    Also, if it helps, I can execute the following MDX query on the cube and get the results I am looking for.
    WITH MEMBER [Measures].[Account Key List] as
    GENERATE(
    DESCENDANTS([Account].[Account].CurrentMember, [Account].[Account].[Account]),
    [Account].[Account].CURRENTMEMBER.NAME,
    "&rp:Account=")
    SELECT {[Measures].[Account Key List]} on 0,
    ([Account].[Account Company Number].[Account Company Number],[Account].[Account Major].[Account Major]
    ) on 1
    FROM [Company 10 Action Demo]
    Below are partial results:
    10.116&rp:Account=10.116.010
    10.117&rp:Account=10.117.010&rp:Account=10.117.020
    10.120&rp:Account=10.120.005&rp:Account=10.120.006&rp:Account=10.120.010&rp:Account=10.120.020&rp:Account=10.120.030&rp:Account=10.120.040&rp:Account=10.120.050&rp:Account=10.120.060&rp:Account=10.120.380&rp:Account=10.120.999
    10.123
    Questions
    Any ideas what I might need to do to get Account Key to be returned for any attribute of the
    Account dimension?
    Would I possibly have to alter my Account dimension in the cube to get this to work?
    Thanks in advance.
    Edit 1 - Adventure Works Cube Version
    I was unable to get the suggested answer with the "Exists" function to work.  To better demonstrate this issue, I have recreated it using the Adventure Works Cube.
    I will focus on the Customer dimension, specifically the Customer and
    Education attributes.  I created a report action called Test Report Action.  Below is the XML created for it in the cube.
    <Action xsi:type="ReportAction" dwd:design-time-name="f35ad5ee-5167-4fb8-a0e0-0a74cc6e81c6">
    <ID>Report Action 1</ID>
    <Name>Test Report Action</Name>
    <TargetType>Cells</TargetType>
    <Target></Target>
    <Type>Report</Type>
    <ReportServer>SQLSERVER</ReportServer>
    <Path>ReportServer?/Test Report</Path>
    <ReportParameters>
    <ReportParameter>
    <Name>Test Customer Existing</Name>
    <Value>UrlEscapeFragment(
    GENERATE(
    EXISTING DESCENDANTS(
    [Customer].[Customer].CurrentMember,
    [Customer].[Customer].[Customer]
    [Customer].[Customer].CURRENTMEMBER.Name,
    "&amp;rp:Customer="
    )</Value>
    </ReportParameter>
    </ReportParameters>
    <ReportFormatParameters>
    <ReportFormatParameter>
    <Name>rs:Command</Name>
    <Value>Render</Value>
    </ReportFormatParameter>
    <ReportFormatParameter>
    <Name>rs:Renderer</Name>
    <Value>HTML5</Value>
    </ReportFormatParameter>
    </ReportFormatParameters>
    </Action>
    Below are the steps to re-create the issue.
    Connect to the cube in Excel
    Add dimension Customer -> More Fields -> Customer
    Add measure Internet Sales -> Internet Sales Amount
    Right-click Internet Sales Amount cell, select "Additional Actions" -> "Test Report Action" and see customer values created for URL
    When the action is ran at this point with Customer, I see the values created in the URL shown message box (since there is no SSRS report server at location specified).
    Now the part I'm unable to resolve
    Remove the Customer dimension and add Customer -> Demographic -> Education
    Right-click Internet Sales Amount cell, select "Additional Actions" -> "Test Report Action"
    Nothing happens. If I ran the action on the cell next to "Bachelors", I would want it to build up all the list of all the "Customers"  that make up the "Bachelors" in the
    Customer dimension as part of the report parameter.  If no attributes where used in the cube from the
    Customer dimension for that cell, then I would like it to return "All Customers", or something similar to show that all customers are included in the aggregations.
    I am not too MDX savvy, thus far.  I think I need to somehow join the
    Customers to Internet Sales Amount in the Generate function portion.  I have tried several different combinations of the
    Customer dimension and Internet Sales Amount, along with various functions to see if I could get this to work with no success.  I am hoping that someone more knowledgeable the me will have a solution.   If you need more details,
    please ask and I will provide them.

    Simon,
    Thanks for you help with this.  This morning I found a workaround.  Below describes what that is.
    What I ended up doing was getting a list of values from a degenerate dimension that I could use to pass to SSRS to get a list of transactions for a report.  Below is how I did this, in relation to the Adventure Works cube using the degenerate dimension
    Internet Order Details.
    WITH MEMBER [Measures].[Order Param List] AS
    GENERATE(
    EXISTS([Internet Sales Order Details].[Sales Order Number].[Sales Order Number].Members, ,
    "Internet Sales"),
    [Internet Sales Order Details].[Sales Order Number].CurrentMember.Name,
    "&rp:OrderNum=")
    SELECT {[Measures].[Order Param List], [Measures].[Internet Sales Amount]} ON 0
    ,([Date].[Calendar].[Date]) ON 1
    FROM [Adventure Works]
    This will get a list of Sales Order Number in a text string, separated by "&rp:OrderNum=" for each measure of
    Internet Sales. This would allow me to create an SSRS report to bring back detail information for each
    Sales Order Number. Below are some sample results.
    May 16, 2007 SO50493&rp:OrderNum=SO50494&rp:OrderNum=SO50495&rp:OrderNum=SO50496&rp:OrderNum=SO50497&rp:OrderNum=SO50498&rp:OrderNum=SO50499&rp:OrderNum=SO50500 $12,157.80
    May 17, 2007 SO50501&rp:OrderNum=SO50502&rp:OrderNum=SO50503&rp:OrderNum=SO50504&rp:OrderNum=SO50505&rp:OrderNum=SO50506&rp:OrderNum=SO50507&rp:OrderNum=SO50508 $13,231.62
    May 18, 2007 SO50509&rp:OrderNum=SO50510 $4,624.91
    With this, I can then create a Report Action in SSRS with a Parameter Value of
    UrlEscapeFragment(
    GENERATE(
    EXISTS([Internet Sales Order Details].[Sales Order Number].[Sales Order Number].Members, ,
    "Internet Sales"),
    [Internet Sales Order Details].[Sales Order Number].CurrentMember.Name,
    "&rp:OrderNum=")
    The way I was going about it before was flawed, as I was trying to get a list of the granular values from each dimension used to build the measure value and pass each one of those as separate parameters. I just needed to set something unique for each fact
    measure transaction that represents the value and uses that in a query parameter for the SSRS report.

  • Problem with SSAS cube reporting action when using pivot filter with cubevalue function

    Hi everyone,
    I have a quite specific problem when I combine cube actions (Reporting Action SSRS) with Excel's cubevalue() function.
    The problem is when I use a pivot filter as a parameter for the cubevalue() function. The action item does not show up in the context menue.
    The cube action works fine when I do it from a "normal" pivot or if I use the cubevalue() function without the reference to a pivot filter (all the parameters in the function are "hard-coded").
    I use SSAS 2012 and Excel 2010.
    Thanks for yor help.
    Gerhard

    Hi everyone,
    I actually figured out a way to solve this problem. I had to use a detour to solve this bug in Excel (at least I think it's a bug).
    What I needed to do: I had to make Excel belive that the filter is actuall hard-coded and does not come from a pivot filter. This was only possible by adding a new calculated measure to the cube that gives back the MEMBER_Unique_Name to the current member
    passed. This "value" can then be used to go back to the cube and select the cubemember function. Here is a small example.
    This is the cube member:
    CREATE MEMBER CURRENTCUBE.[Measures].[RegCompBranNameKey] AS
    [Company Branch].[Reg - Comp - Bran Name].CurrentMember.Properties("MEMBER_UNIQUE_NAME", TYPED),
    VISIBLE = 0 ;
    And this is then done in a hidden Excel cell:
    =CUBEMEMBER("Metrics";
     IF(RIGHT(CUBEVALUE("Metrics";<PivotFilter>;"[Measures].[RegCompBranNameKey]");5)="[ALL]";"[ALL]";
      RIGHT(CUBEVALUE("Metrics";<PivotFilter>;"[Measures].[RegCompBranNameKey]");LEN(CUBEVALUE("GlobalMetrics";<PivotFilter>;"[Measures].[RegCompBranNameKey]"))-57)
    I had to use the UniqueName property because I have a combined filter. That's also the reason for this truncation and also useing the last part of it. If you just have a straight key you more easily use it.

  • SSAS SSRS Report Action on Cell Value w/ Embedded Single Quote Not Executing

    I have configured an SSAS 2008 R2 cube SSRS ReportAction. I'm having problems when the member value for a cell has an embedded single quote, e.g. abc's. The action displays on the context menu appropriately, but when I click on the action, nothing happens.
    For member values that do not have the single quote, the action works as designed. I've added a calculated ember to escape the embedded single quote by adding another single quote, e.g. abc''s, with no luck. Is there a resolution or workaround for this?

    Hi Mdccuber,
    According to your description, you create a reporting action in you cube, and it works fine except the members that have embedded single quote, right? In your scenario, it seems that you pass this value to the report as the parameter.
    In SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), when pass values to a report, multi-select parameters have to be placed into IN statement and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) will do single-quote wrapping for string values automatically. In this case, the original
    value that have embedded single quote will be damaged. So this action not work. You can submit a feedback at
    http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback and hope it is resolved in the next release of service pack or product.

  • Back arrow does not work with SQL Server Reporting Services Reports. When one pages back from a sub report the back action appears to skip moving to the previous step. IE 8 works fine?

    I have a SSRS report that has a parameter driven drop down list to select a catagory for a report to run a summary for the category in Report Manager. When the report runs there are links to a sub report with more detailed information about the category summary. Firefox runs everything correctly up to this point.
    When I try to back arrow from the sub report Firefox skips the summary report page and reverts to the initial page where the sub category can be selected to run the summary report.
    Can you help? IE8 works well with this but has severe spped issues with reports that contain multiple selection parameters. Firefox handles the multiple parameters very fast but has the page back issue.

  • Reporting action with a parameter

    Hi,
    I am having an issue setting up a reporting action with a parameter. The report I am trying open
    is non-cube based database report. I tried a few syntax variations for
    the parameter value such as:
    UrlEscapeFragment( [Dimension].[Attribute].CurrentMember.Name)
    UrlEscapeFragment( [Dimension].[Attribute].CurrentMember)
    UrlEscapeFragment( [Dimension].[Attribute].CurrentMember.Value)
    UrlEscapeFragment( [Dimension].[Attribute].CurrentMember.UniqueName)
    But non of them seems to work.
    The action disappears ones I set the
    parameter.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Value: "Delete"
    True Action: Execute Javascript Code: Alert('Here');
    Doesn't seem to be firing...can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance,
    John

    Hi,
    I am not sure if the "equal to" condition applies to a DOM object... after all, a DOM object can be anything (any HTML element) not only a field.
    Try using a javascript expression instead, like this:
    $v('P6_IR_SELECT_LIST')=='Delete'UPDATE: Sorry, I just tested and "equal to" condition works for DOM objects... should have tested before posting!

    [9/10/08 2:51:09 PM] [72379:RT1897433] Completed post-processing actions for request 1897433.
    Anybody have any idea where the error is ?
    Any help will be appreciated

    You are right !!
    The problem is inside the report generated by Oracle Reports
    The XML code, which I retrieve running the report request is the following:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="&Encoding"?>
    - <!-- Generated by Oracle Reports version 6.0.8.20.2
    -->
    - <MODULE1>
    - <LIST_G_MANAGER_NO>
    - <G_MANAGER_NO>
    <MANAGER_NO>1000</MANAGER_NO>
    <MANAGER_NAME>Anil Passi</MANAGER_NAME>
    </G_MANAGER_NO>
    - <G_MANAGER_NO>
    <MANAGER_NO>1001</MANAGER_NO>
    <MANAGER_NAME>Martin</MANAGER_NAME>
    </G_MANAGER_NO>
    </LIST_G_MANAGER_NO>
    </MODULE1>
    and the problem is the "&" !!!
    So, inside Oracle Reports, when I try to generate the XML code from a preexisting report, the encoding variable is not set.
    Now, I'm trying to understand how to set it, but I didn't find nothing....
    Somebody knows where can I find a Report's configuration file in order to set this "encoding" ?
    Thanks

  • SSRS 2008 R2 - Using Action to call a report with MultiValue Parameters

    I have a report uses project names as parameter(Multi value) and display some data. I want to call this report from some other report on a click (drill down). This report has a program row where it aggregates the data, underneath Programs, I have
    list of projects(group). When I use Action on the individual projects, it takes me to the appropriate project ( I used
    Fields!ProjectName.Value). However, when user clicks on the program, it should pass the group of projects within that program to the called report. With expression,  Fields!ProjectName.Value, it only select one random project (may be first/last from
    the query) and display records. I tried Join(Fields!ProjectName.Value, ",") and Fields!ProjectName.Value(0) but now it doesn't select a sengle project. Can someone help please?

  • SSRS Reports migration from 2005 to 2008R2

    Hi ..
    I have couple of questions.. looking for answers
    Am new to report migration. We have 1000+ of reports in 2005 which we need to migrate to 2008R2. After googling theweb i got to know that we have an third party utility RSScripter which is used to move the reports from 2005 to 2008.
    Question 1:
    By using the above tool i was able to migrate the reports from 2005 to 2008. However, i am not able to redeploy the reports to sub folder in 2008..
    Example  i have some reports in 2005 at Dev_reports\Reports\.. when i want to copy these reports to Dev_reports\Reports folder they are not moved to sub folder Reports on destination server, but rather they are copied to root folder. Is there any why
    that i can copy the reports to particular folder in destination server.
    Question 2:
    When moved the reports from 2005 to 2008 are all the reports are automatically upgraded and copied to new server(2008)? or we need to explicitly open each and every report in 2008 and deploy to the new report server(2008)?
    And my third requirement is to create couple(2) solution for the above said reports and check in them to TFS as a reporting project.
    one report project with all the reports from 2005 and another with all reports from 2008.
    Appreciate your responses at the earliest. As this is on top priority.. Thanks in Advance
    Sri

    Hi Sri,
    Per my understanding that you are using the RSScripter to move the reports from SSRS 2005 from SSRS 2008 R2, now your first problem is you don't know how to move the reports from the sub folder of 2005 to an specify folder on SSRS 2008 R2, right?
    I have tested on my locak enviroment and can reproduce the issue, by default, when you execute the .cmd file the report will move to the new server's root folder, for example, you have an rdl report in SSRS 2005 which path is "/Test/report1.rdl"
    , when you move to the SSRS 2008 R2 using the tool it will move to the path "home/Test/report1.rdl".
    If you want to move this rdl to the specify folder "home/Test0323/Test/Report1.rdl" you should do the action as below:
    Create the specify folder on the SSRS 2005 but not SSRS 2008 R2, move the subfolder and the rdl in it "/Test/report1.rdl" to the specify folder
    find and check the "/Test0323/Test/Report1.rdl" in the RSScripter:
    the Output will have the path like "Test0323/Test/Report1.rdl",after move to the SSRS 2008 R2, it will also create the path like "/Test0323/Test/Report1.rdl"

    Migrating SQL Reporting Services to a new server
    For the second question, Generally, reports are not upgraded when you upload a report definition file directly to the report server or SharePoint site. The report is automatically upgraded the first time it is viewed, but the stored report definition file
    remains unchanged. Upgrading a report definition in SQL Server Data Tools is the only way to upgrade the .rdl file.

  • OSB 10gR3 Error handling and reporting action approach

    My use case:
    Simple Proxy service routes to an external web service created as Business service in OSB
    Whenever there is transport error/soap fault from the external web service, that error needs to be reported along with the original request received by the proxy service.
    What I have tried so far?
    Created a error handler/stage in the route node of my proxy service. Within that stage, added a report action to report $body which contains the error received from the external service. I created a report index key/value to report for this request, I used a specific element in the body of the original request sent to the proxy service.
    Within the route error handling stage, I realized that $body which had my original request to the proxy service lost its content and replaced by the fault from external WS. So I made a copy of $body in my request pipeline and tried to use an element from that copy to index my failed request. But the copied variable always seem to be empty within the error handling stage.
    So, my questions to the experts,
    1)What variables are visible within the error handling stage/scope?
    2)What is the best way(less overhead) to preserve my original request as $body context variable is already changed with fault by the time error handler is invoked? Remember I wanted to report the original request only incase of error, for success cases I don't care/I don't want to un-necessarily add an overhead of copying to a vairbale.
    3)Is there another proper way to simply report the original request received by proxy and fault received from external service for a given key in the request, say orderId
    Sample proxy request:
    <MyData>
    <OrderId>123</OrderId>
    </MyData>

    1)What variables are visible within the error handling stage/scope? $fault - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/userguide/context.html#wp1051816
    $body - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/userguide/context.html#wp1103311
    2)What is the best way(less overhead) to preserve my original request as $body context variable is already changed with fault by the time error handler is invoked? Remember I wanted to report the original request only incase of error, for success cases I don't care/I don't want to un-necessarily add an overhead of copying to a variable.Can you print $body and $fault variables in your error handler?. Are they different ? What I'm suspecting is the back-end webservice is faulting (returning soap-fault and http response =5xx). There is no other way I can think of than copying the contents of $body to a separate variable.
    Thanks

  • Link column - populating a form from an interactive report?

    Hi
    I have an interactive report which works great. I have now added a link column which leads to a form in my application,
    How can I link the records in the interactive report with the form, so when a user clicks on the link column the form is populated with the details of that record from the interactive report?
    Hope this makes sense

    Hi,
    The easiest way is to create it using wizard when you create a page:
    Create Page -> Form -> Form on a Table with Report
    The link will be created automaticaly on the base of the table Primary key or Rowid.
    Otherwise: On the created Form there should be a page process called similar "Fetch Row from TABLE" (it is automated row fetch process)
    There should be defined the primary key Item.
    Now you can fill this item in report link attribute:
    Link to Page -> your Form
    Set the item Name and Item Value parameters:
    FORM_ITEM_PK #REPORT_ITEM_PK#
    If the Form is based on another table -> just use
    Link to Page -> your Form
    Set the item Name and Item Value parameters(here you can populate more fields - but there will be good to use some dynamic action instead):
    FORM_ITEM_1 #REPORT_ITEM_1#
    FORM_ITEM_2 #REPORT_ITEM_5#
    FORM_ITEM_3 #REPORT_ITEM_3#

  • Report Action in JMS Proxy gets rolled back

    I am using the report action to do auditing in my proxies. To date this has worked well for both successful and error transactions.
    However when using a jms proy the report actions get rolled back. They actually didn't get rolled back when I was using the test console, but when the data comes from the queue they do.
    Is there a way to change this behaviour so that the report is always separate from the main transaction?
    Could this be a pointbase issue and will it have a differnt result using Oracle?
    Thanks,
    Ryan

    You can always write your own implementation of a reporting provider, overriding teh default report action. I once made a post about this: http://forums.bea.com/thread.jspa?threadID=400001303
    By using a custom implementation you can meet your own company's specific reporting requirements.
    If you want to stick with out-of-box report action:
    - Pointbase can be tricky, best to test with oracle.
    - It depends on the jdbc driver used, ie XA or non-XA.
