Reports 6i Error descriptions
Does anyone know where I can get a list of errors, descriptions and possible causes/solutions for Oracle Reports 6i?
I am having some technical difficulties that this may assist in.
Many thanks

Crystal Reports XI - ERROR closes Crystal Reports Entirely
Post Author: crdev
CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
Our company recently purchased Crystal Reports XI. We had previously used Crystal Reports 8 and had great success using it. Our problem is that when creating a new report using CR XI after selecting our ODBC datasource and inputing our username and password crystal reports generates an error and closes entirely. There is not an error code or error description either. Our datasource connects to a secured Access database with a database password set. This same datasource worked great using CR 8. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, did you find a solution?Tim,
If you have previous versions of Crystal Reports try removing them. As well check that there are no Business Objects or Crystal Decisions folders under C:\Program Files and that there are no Registry keys for Business Objects or Crystal Decisions in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software. (*Back up the Registry before editing)
If you are trying to install from a CD or network drive copy the contents of the install package to the local machine.
Ensure you are logged on as Administrator and that Antivirus and AntiSpam ware are disabled. -

Crystal Reports 2008 - Report Load error - Memory Leak Error?
Hello
<br>
We have a problem with Crystal Reports 2008 with .NET 2.0.
<br>
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine, Version=12.0.2000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304
<br>
The problem is that during high amount of report producing, errors in eventlog pops up and the production of reports using <br>
Crystal Reports stops.
<br>
Below are examples of the three most common event logs.
<br>
We have tried to implement a cleanup method both as a destructor (with a global ReportDocument rdoc variable) and using direct call to cleanUpDoc() method when finished with loading doc:
<br>
~IOServerClass()
<br>
<br>
cleanupDoc();
<br>
<br>
<br>
private void cleanupDoc()
<br>
<br>
try
<br>
<br>
if (rdoc != null)
<br>
<br>
rdoc.Close();
<br>
rdoc.Dispose();
<br>
rdoc = null;
<br>
<br>
this.CleanGlobalEvents();
<br>
System.GC.Collect();
<br>
<br>
<br>
<br>
The doc is loading using the "normal" method (in-process).
<br>
<br>
try
<br>
<br>
rdoc = new ReportDocument();
<br>
rdoc.Load(fullpathandreport);
<br>
<br>
catch (Exception ex)
<br>
<br>
cleanupDoc();
<br>
<br>
...process doc....
<br>
cleanupDoc();
<br>
<br>
Furthermore we have tried during Scalable tests of the system - but cannot produce the below errors ourselves. Only the customer can.
<br>
Please help with solving this problem.
Is the above advisable to do?
Should the document be loaded in another way?
Is it a memory leak?
<br>
Regards
Kristian

First, ensure you have the latest service pack / hot fix for your version of Crystal Reports, and that the client has the same updates as well. Fix Pack 2.4 is the current latest, and can be downloaded from our downloads section.
One of the errors is the Background Processing error, so have a look at the following article:
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/50a6f5e8-8164-2b10-7ca4-b5089df76b33&overridelayout=true

Where do I see the errors descriptions????
First I deploy a Mapping in the Deployment Manager (all its OK) and then I execute it.
The mapping collects data from a table and put it in a flat file.
In the Execution results I see in the Summary:
Completion Status Completed with errors.
Row Activity
Mapping1 Inserted 0, Updated 0, Deleted 0, Merged 0.
Where do I see the errors descriptions????Claudio,
You can use the runtime audit browser to see the descriptions:
From the program menu, Warehouse Builder:
- invoke Start OWB OC4J instance
- invoke OWB Runtime Audit browser
- connect to your runtime repository, using the access user credentials, and click 'view execution report'
- drill down to the details of the execution
Hope this helps,
Mark. -
Error 80043ac1 - An external object raised an error. No Error Description
Hello,
After installing Crystal Reports runtime XI R2, I've been having the error:
Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer error 80043ac1 -
An external object raised an error. No Error Description.
This same runtime package have already been successfully installed in other server (Windows 2003 as well).
I have already tried to give permission to IUSR user (full control) in Windows temp folder.
Does anybody have any information on this issue?
Thanks in advance,
BrunoThank a lot for replying Don.
I have tried to use Process Monitor, and found out that I had to give permission for IUSR to the root drive.
I gave some permissions, and the error message changed:
"Create object failed
An error occured while creating "oCrystal". error '8007007e'"
oCrystal is an application variable that I created in global.asa it contains:
<object runat="server" scope="application" id="oCrystal" progid="CrystalRuntime.Application.11"></object>
I run Process Manager again, and found another process with "access denied" for user IWAM, so I gave again permissions for it and finally worked.
Thanks!

Seagate Crystal Reports: Database Error
I am using Crystal reports Version 8 and frequently get the error 'Seagate Crystal Reports: Database Error' when I try to open a previously working crystal report file. The error occurs when I click on the Database menu. Every time I get this error I end up redesigning the report as the I have not yet found a solution and I cant run the report.
The error is a message box with the title 'Seagate Crystal Reports: Database Error' and an ok button - nothing else.
Its very frustrating!
Please help.
Thanks.Hi,
What database are you using and how are you connecting to it?
What are you clicking in the Database menu: Set Location, Verify Database, Show SQL Query?
Before opening the report, can you connect to the database first then open the report?
I would have expected an error code or a more descriptive error to follow.
Thanks,
Brian -

No current report server error
Using Report Builder 3.0, I get no current report server error and when I run the report I get no data. Does anyone know how I can remedy this problem?
sukaiHi sukai,
Based on your description, it seems that you have not connect report server when you run a report in Report Builder. In this scenario, I suggest that you should click the Connect option with “No current report server” in the lower-left corner.
If you have access to the machine where SSRS is installed, you can open up the Reporting Services Configuration Manager. Then you can see the Report Server Web Service URLs in the Web Service URL tab. Another option is directly type the following URL in
the popup window:
http://<machine name>/ReportServer_<SQL Server instance name>
If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks,
Katherine Xiong

Reporting Services Error after Interactive sorting and drill down in pps
Hi
i have a report that has a drill down option that shows all workgroups within a specific parent group and an interactive sorting ass well on both columns parent group & workgroup
This is displayed in pps combined with a SharePoint
---the problem is that after sorting the parent group column by name i then press the drill through icon (+) next to it hopping to see all workgroups related to each parent group
- but instead
i receive this Reporting Services Error :
The value for parameter 'SortItem' is not specified. It is either missing from the function call, or it is set to null. (rsMissingParameter) Get
Online Help
If I don't press the sorting and just drill through it works fine. the sorting itself also works fine.
any suggestions ?
Hi Hyaron,
I am unable to reproduce the issue in my test environment. How did you add the drilldown feature? Were you doing that by setting visibility of the column or of the group? Please ensure to add the drilldown functionality by set the visibility of the workgroup
from the Grouping Pane in the Report Designer.
How did you add the Interactive Sorting on the headers of the two columns? Based on the drilldown functionality, the Interactive Sorting on the second column doesn’t work. So, you can move the Interactive Sorting on the second column. When configuring the
Interactive sorting on the first column, you should set the parent group to sort, and sort by the field that the parent group groups by.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Mike Yin

EPSON Workforce 310 "scanner reported an error" when using document feeder
I'm having trouble using my EPSON Workforce 310 printer/scanner with my new MacBook Pro (late 2012, 2.5 GHz i5, OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2).
Using the flatbed I can scan without a problem. But when I try to use the document feeder, I get the following error right after I click Scan and before the scanner has done anything (at least I don't hear anything moving inside the EPSON):
Scanner reported an error
An error occured during scanning
The EPSON's display doesn't show any error or special message.
This is repeated whether I use Image Capture, Preview's Import from Scanner, or the printer's native app (PrinterProxy, the one that shows up in the doc whenever the printer is printing or scanning).
I have no problem doing the scanning from my old iMac (2006, 2GHz Core Duo, Snow Leopard). After scanning to the MacBook fails I can walk over to the iMac and scan from there without problem and without resetting anything on the EPSON.
The EPSON is connected the home network via ethernet to a Time Capsule. Both computers are connected to the network via WiFi.Syd,
My wife's iMac with 10.6.6 stopped working with her Epson 2480 Photo scanner. Get the error message "SCANNER reported an error. An error has occurred during scanning" I am trying to use it from the Image Capture App or from the print/fax option in Settings which opens Image Capture. I ran the uninstall program and then reinstalled the ICA 13969 .dmg but get the same error. Not sure what else I can do. -
I first tried downloading Safari when the 5.0 update came out last year. When I choose the app in the dock, I get the blue top bar (Safari, File, etc) but nothing else loads. I uninstalled the app and tried again several times, but no success. For over a year now I've used Firefox as a result. Today I thought I'd try again, but same results. When I choose "new window" in the file menu, I get a small gray window with my bookmarks on top, then in a few seconds, the app quits unexpectedly and the report an error screen appears. I've unchecked all the languages in the information area for the app, cleared all history, cookies, and cache. Still the extensions tab in the preferences area has "LOCALIZED STRING NOT FOUND" in 4 places. It won't show what that means when I click the "?". Will I ever be able to use Safari again?
Perform the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:
* [[Firefox is already running but is not responding]]
-> Profile in use
* [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_in_use]
Check and tell if its working.

Best Solution for Contiguous TrackingNumber
One way to generate contiguous TrackingNumber is using SELECT MAX(TrackingNumber) +1 computation. This method (used before IDENTITY/SEQUENCE was invented) is processing intensive and can cause blocking or even deadlocks. Is there a better way? Than
