Request: U100 1.0G Bios with OC on startup

Hi Svet,
I would like the lastest 1.0G modded bios, except the following:
- Regular Ctrl-Fn keys
- Regular logo
- OC is set by default when on AC. When I start it or when back from standby it's ON and I can turn it off only if *not* needed.
- Would it be possible to have Turbo mode on battery instead of eco mode ? So I would not need to run the OC Tool every time. (But startup in standard mode by default, not turbo)
I made a table so it's more clear
               START/DEFAULT     BUTTON
AC                   OC                  REG
BATTERY          REG                  OC
Also, do you have any control over led colors in bios ?
Many thanks  :D

Is there room for sharing? :D
I've been digging around the last couple days trying to get up to date and also solve a minor problem on my U100, where in XP Turbo mode would simply freeze the machine (no BSOD, et al). It works in Windows 7 though, so I figure dodging the problem is OK.
Anyways, no need to ponder that one too hard, just wanted to grab this as it's exactly what I was hoping for amongst the myriad of BIOS tweaks.
Svet, you are pretty much a saint. I've never seen anyone so charitably contribute on an OEM forum with the exception of Toshiba's Jerry Lippey.
If MSI hasn't sent you a trophy, they definitely should, and I'll start the petition for it.
Cheers!
Al
Thanks for kind of word, nope i don't have any trophy from MSI and i'm not paid by MSI

  • REQUEST: U100 1.0G Bios with WIFI on startup

    Hello Svet,
Is it possible to make a bios with the wireless card on at startup? My f11 key is broken so I just want to have it on all the time. Also Fn + Ctrl swap. Also have OC on by default when on AC power, but not on by default when running on battery. One more thing (I think this is standard.. can't remember) but when plugging into AC power brightness jumps up to 100% and can be reduced after.
If you need to know right now I'm running your 1.09 bios with fn + ctrl swap.. and have not tried the 1.0G but assume it should work fine.
    Donation sent.
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • Toshiba Satellite A300-129 Crisis Recovery Mode Phoenix BIOS with USB drive

When flashing my BIOS back from v4.20 to a v3.90 I found on the net, everything went alright in windows, but as soon as I rebooted, the laptop showed the symptoms of a failed BIOS.
I'm now trying to repair the BIOS using the crisis recovery tool. I used the following procedure to create the USB stick and recover the BIOS
-Run the WINCRIS.Exe file in administrator and compatibility mode (Windows XP SP2)
-Select the USB drive (1GB Kingston), and format it with the tool
-Reinsert the drive and format again with the tool without restarting it to be sure that the disk is properly formatted
-Take the BL5S3D57.WPH file from the toshiba BIOS update and rename it to BIOS.WPH, and copy to the Crisdisk directory
-Copy the files BIOS.WPH (the one from toshiba I renamed), minidos.sys and winphlash16.exe to the drive in windows
    -Take the drive out
-Plug battery out, plug AC out of laptop, hold the power button for a few seconds to make sure no remaining current is in the laptop
    -Plug the USB Drive in
-Hold Fn+Esc in my case, this is the key combination where the laptop tries to read the USB drive the moment it boots up. It has something to do with enabling a boot block in the BIOS with that key combination.
-Plug AC in while still holding the F button
The F button does not nescessarily need to be held while plugging in AC, the laptop also tries to read from the drive if I hold it after plugging AC in, and before pushing the power button.
    -Press the power button
I need to push the button twice, because the first time after plugging in AC the power button doesn't do a thing. When holding the power button for around 10 seconds after right after plugging AC in, the laptop boots sometimes, didn't find a pattern yet here.
The easy thing however is to just push the button 2 or 3 times, then it boots, and the booting procedure seems exactly the same as when holding the power button
-Wait for the LED to flash on the USB Drive. Very important: it seems to only flash ONCE for me, so it means it tries to access the drive, but I think it doesn't contain the right files or isn't formatted correctly. If I keep holding the F button while the laptop is on, the LED flashes once every 10-20 seconds.
From here on out the laptop is supposed to be reading the BIOS files from the USB drive, but apparently I'm doing something wrong. So here comes my question:
What could I be doing wrong in formatting the drive or writing the files to it?
Do I have the wrong CRISDISK? Is it normal that the files arent copied by CRISDISK to the USB Drive and that I have to do it myself?
Am I using the wrong WinPhlash? Or should I use the files that are supplied in the official BIOS rar from toshiba?
I have tried different versions of CRISDISK, different USB Drives (one 4GB would not be read by the broken laptop, and another 1GB would not be read by CRISDISK when trying to format the drive)
Tried different files on the USB Drive, tried bios.wph instead of capitals, tried BIOS.FD,...
I'm kind of running out of options here to try. Is there anyone who has experience with this recovery mode flashing that could tell me what I might be doing wrong? Or that has any suggestions on which other CRISDISK or toshiba updates to use?
Thanks anyways to people who read this and try to help!

I hope that Russian service provider will be as honest as the European one and won't solder something out as a souvenir :)
They said, it will take approximately a week.
Serviceman said that L30 has no built-in crisis recovery routine.
So I wasted money by buying an USB floppy disk drive and risked to burn something in my laptop by frequent powering it on and off (and may be burnt, will see).
The lesson I learnt is never flash BIOS if everything works and if even flash then not from Windows (btw. I flashed successfully my Satellite A300 from Windows without any problems).
Phoenix makes its BIOSes since 2001 with a crisis recovery boot block, but Toshiba locks this feature in many laptops, I think, not without a reason. Service providers want money too :)

  • Windows 8.1-No UEFI firmware setting in advance option. Can't access BIOS with F2-Lenovo B575

There was Windows 7 Home Premium on my machine before (Lenovo B575)and I could access the BIOS and Boot Menu pressing F2 and F12. I installed Windows 8 Enterprise version first and lost the ability to go into the BIOS. I upgraded this version to 8.1 with
same results. In advanced option I don't have UEFI firmware setting tile. So I can't choose to get to the BIOS with this method. I have tried to go into the BIOS at the boot pressing F2 and many other keys with no result. The OS in both cases 8 and 8.1 hung
several times during the installation process. I had to manually reboot machine during installation several times. After the windows were installed the system still can't shut down or restart normally and I have played with different settings in power / shutdown
option. Please help. I need to be able to access my BIOS at boot or Windows level. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi,
The method to enter into advanced boot option in Windows 8\8.1 is different from Windows 7, pressing F12 during boot may not work because the booting process in Windows 8\8.1 is too fast. Here's an document from Lenovo website:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en/documents/ht081446

Please Note the sentence at the end:  Lenovo preloaded Windows 8/8.1 is set up with UEFI boot. If your computer is not fitted with UEFI boot, you can only enter BIOS setup or UEFI firmware via  the traditional method.
that means If you installed Windows 8\8.1 the U/EFI way you should be able to access UEFI options,
To check if you boot UEFI way, run in admin command prompt:
    bcdedit
    for example:
    If path ends in
.efi - you boot U/EFI way, and path ends in .exe - you boot normal BIOS way.

    Hi
If there are 2 QA clients and requests need to be tranported to both clients at the same time,
    can SolMan ChaRM handle this?
    Transport route is as follows.
    DEV_______QA_______PRD
    200___->__300___->_100
    ______--->__500
    Anybody has experience?
My version is SolMan 7.0 SP16
    Thank you

    hello,
I have the same behaviour in my landscape. Only the systems in the main path is available in SDHF task list
I would say this is normal.
    Why is this normal ?
Because the ur.gent correction is to be considered like an emergency process that doesn't superseed the normal maintenance but that complement it to have a faster change in place.
That means the ur.gent transport will follow the normal maintance process anyway
If you miss the ur.gent transport in the other QA client you may schedule the following task in your project tasklist
    /TMWFLOW/SCMA_BTCH_SYNC_TEST or online
    /TMWFLOW/SCMA_TRIMP_SYNC_TEST
This is not obvious how this is working and I am currently evaluating this solution in another thread

  • A55-G35 bios with Win8 support

    Hi!
MSI's site has BIOS v3.0 for A55-G35, with note "Support Windows 8". (previos bios is v1.7).
    there is also note:
    Quote
Please download and execute the file in USB pen drive only.
System will restart several times to update system BIOS with NVRAM & ROMHOLE.
Please DO NOT remove the USB pen drive until BIOS updated successfully.
    * Please make sure you have read the SOP before you update the BIOS.
    * MSI recommend you to update BIOS only if you are using Windows8.
    * There is no way to reflash back to BIOS version 1xx if you already updated to version 3xx.
About how to flash the BIOS, please refer to BIOS flash SOP
What does this "Support Windows 8" mean? And why it required such a major bios changes? And no way to rollback?

Remember Ultra Fast Boot is only usable with Win8. The new bios will also work with legacy OS but of course just in legacy mode. If using Win8 with UEFI booting you'd have to switch in bios between legacy and UEFI booting anytime you switch between legacy OS and Win8 if you are not using Win8 in legacy mode also (what makes a Win8 bios quite pointless).
What and if some settings are limited after flashing depends on the individual components used. There is no general limitation.

  • Can I flash BIOS with 5.6?

    Hi!
I've been running my KT3-Utra2 for a year with a XP1700+ an BIOS 5.5 and 5.6. Two weeks ago I upgraded to a XP2500+ Barton, before I installed that CPU I flashed the BIOS with 5.7. Well now I have alot of problems with the stability og my computer... So can I flash back to 5.6? Does 5.6 support 2500+ (Barton)?
I've sold my 1700+ so unfortunatly I can not use this if 5.6 doesn't support my CPU.
Hope someone can answer my question.
    Regards
    Anders

Well, that was my question in the first place.
In order to flash it I have to put the CPU in, turn on teh computer and then flash it. If the CPU won't work on the mobo until I flash it, how can I flash it?
I hope I'm not missing something, here.

  • Restore the BIOS with the backup built (bridges).

    Hi.
My PC had a problem, i have to recover it using the Backup BIOS build, but ¿how i do that?. My laptop is a Compaq CQ 42 124LA Notebook. I think that the bridges are like the jumpers in a desktop computer right?.
    Thanks for your support.

Please describe the problem exactly. You can roll back the BIOS but you have to have an image of the original BIOS with which to flash.

  • Satellite M40 - How to reflash BIOS with the same version?

Hey guys been reading the forums trying to find a fix for my problem. After I reformatted hardrive with the original CD everytime you reboot computer the wifi will drop even though the switch is in "on" position and won't come on untill you manually switch off and back on again.
Last time I fixed it by updating BIOS to 1.70 (newest) this time I cant reflash BIOS as it's window based flash and it checks that I already have 1.70. I reinstalled newest drivers and software for everything. I also searche a lot for older BIOS files if anyone mind sending over older 1.60, 1.50, for this computer would be greatrly apriciated it's M40 (PSM40E) it's the model with Nvidia 6600 video card.
Or any idea how I can reflash 1.70 again?
    Thanks Daniel

    Hi!
Reflashing the BIOS with the same or older version is not possible. Therefore you must go to an authorized service provider.
The technicians can relfash it with the same or older version.
If you dont know where is the nearest ASP you should look on the Toshiba website. There you can search for it.
    Bye

  • GTX 670 PE OC - need BIOS with reduced dust removal fan speed

    Hi,
I'm looking for someone who will be pleased to reduce or stop dust removal fan speed after restart.
Would like to modify latest BIOS with UEFI support.
There was a BIOS which was removed from German MSI site.
I can provide it if necessary.
I'm willing to give some reward for the effort.
    Thanks.

  • Will MSI Z87 MPOWER Motherboard boot into Bios with Devils Canyon?

    Hey guys !
I decided to take the plunge and update to a Devils Canyon i5 4690k and purchased a MSI Z87 MPOWER motherboard which was on special. I know I need to update the bios for this cpu.
I forgot to check something crucial !
Will i be able to boot into UEFI Bios and update the Bios with this CPU ???? I have only used ASUS Mobo's and they have the bios flashback feature. I'm worried i'll have this great mobo and cpu and not be able to update !!! I don't have a standard haswell cpu to use just to update the bios to support Devils Canyon.
Could someone confirm if it will boot allowing me to update via the MSI Bios flash method.
I still have time to cancel the order if need be.
    Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not quite automatically. It will recognise the CPU but may not properly work or boot. You can try booting into Windows/other OS, but you might need to update BIOS.
Once you have the updated BIOS prepared on the USB stick, you just boot from the USB stick and it will give you some instructions etc to follow, and that's all about updating.
As last resort if it won't let you do it, you can take motherboard to some PC repair center where they have SPI programming tool and they'll update BIOS even without the CPU inside
