Required Field labels

Is there any reason why only text field labels carry the required "*" asterisk field (and incidentally, the "!" exclamation error on the field", when set to required?
I cannot get my checkboxes and radiobuttons to do it.
I dropped a checkbox, set a label on the checkbox, and set it to required. No asterisk by the label. Also, when no value is given when running the app, the cool "!" exclamation beside the label is not there.
Only on text boxes does this work. Bug?

I believe we have a bug filed for this, but it is scheduled to be fixed for a future release. I'll post back shortly once I find the reported CR.

  • Error: The following required field is missing from the launch file: jnlp

    PLEASE help me.
    I was at Starbuck's today trying to install new software for my new wireless internet card and when I finished I could no longer access any of my applications that require java... I have a macbook pro dual platform computer. When I try to access www.bayphoto.com to download my application it says: (see below) (which I think is strange because it's all about Starbuck's and it should be my java code- I think...). Like I said - I have no idea what's going on or how to fix this. Please help me or at least tell me whom to call- I feel so stupid- I just need help- ATT? Starbuck's? Sun?

  • Any method to remove the required field option in the runtime process

    I've added the required actions n callable objects for the design time and when i run it in the runtime, there are actually required field that we need to fill in before the interactive form appear. Is there any way that I can remove the required field and fill in the interactive form?
    Can anyone help me answer my qn?
    Thanks.

    Just access the total textfield and make it visible = false;
    oForm.Items.Item("29").Visible = false; //The field
    oForm.Items.Item("30").Visible = false; //The label
    If that doesn't work try setting the left property to something that will never come into view no matter how large you make the window... Something like this
    oForm.Items.Item("29").Left = 5000; //The field
    oForm.Items.Item("30").Visible = 5000; //The label

  • Dynamic field labels in table control

    Hi experts,
        My requirement is to display dynamic field labels in table control can we do this. I am much aware
    that we can do it in alv_grid. Please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.
    Sri

    Hi Anubhab,
         Thanks. With your help i could able to solve the problem. Let me put this in some
    more detail.
    When we are pulling the field from a table to table control we need to make sure the fields should have a data elements. After pulling all the fields to a table control ,we need to drag out  and delete the current table control column headings and then drop in the (new) I/O fields into their place.  I then set the text on these new fields within the PBO.  If we try to drop the (new) I/O fields on top of the existing ones with out deleting it won't work.
    Thanks & Regards.

  • View Criteria non required field

    Hello,
    I have a view object with a viewCriteria with the following condition: No between no1_prm and no2_prm, the condition for required is optional and I checked ignore null values.
    The bind variables of the view object are not required.
    I made a page with a search form (af:query) but I want that even I complete only one field (no1_prm or no2_prm) to receive the result for that parameter. Now I receive error that the filed is required.
    How can I make :
    - when I complete one value for the parameter to receive exact value for that parameter
    - when I complete the two values for the parameters to receive all the numbers between the two parameters.
    Thank you in advance.

    I set only that condition : No between no1_prm and no2_prm with validation optional and ignore null values checked.
    The all view object where clause is :
    ( ( NR BETWEEN :nr_prm1 AND :nr_prm2 ) OR ( :nr_prm1 IS NULL AND :nr_prm2 IS NULL ) )
    I mention that in my page I must to have only : No label : input text for no1_prm - input text for no2_prm. If I complete only input text for no1_prm I receive the error for required field.
    Thank you.

  • Bug in forms- Won't submit because required field is empty but it is not...

    Hello,
    I have the same bug in both our corporate and French website.
    When someone fill in the form, it says that one of the required field is empty, even when it is not:
    I put the form in a test page at www2.smasolutions.it/test.html
    Please, help me as quickly as you can as the websites are live. We put the simple form for now as it is the only one that is working but we need to grab more info !
    Thanks
    Esther

    Esther,
    The field with the label 'Société*' is actually the email field, so it requires a valid email address.
    I suspect you changed the label name in Muse from 'Email' to 'Société*'. Change the name of the label back to 'Email' so it's clear to the user what they need to enter in the field...

  • Issue - Hiding summary field labels in cross tab.

    Hi,
    I have a cross tab displaying two summarised value(say revenue and qty sold) and an embedded summary based on two dimension  (say City and year).
    I have a requirement to hide a particular city (Say Dallas)  in my cross tab.  But I am using the summarised value pertaining to Dallas in my embeded summary calculation.  So I cannot use the specified order in the group option to discard it.
    If I use the suppress option.  I am able to suppress all the values except the summarised fields label.  I used the following formula to suppress it.
    Gridlabelat(City,currentrowindex)= "Dallas" then true else false
    Gridlabelat function is not working for label since it text.  How to hide the label in my case.  Please guide me.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Subbu S.

    Hi,
    As I said earlier the labels are considered as Text and not as fields.  So its not allowing me to use any of the grid functions.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Subbu S.

  • Label - Field -Label layout

    Hello everyone,
    JDev 11.1.1.5.0 & 11.1.1.6.0
    We want to build a layout where we have a label, the field and then a label again.
    Ex: Max Duration <field> years
    You have to see this in a form layout, where we have different fields. Some of them have this second label, others don't.
    The closes I can get is using a panellabelandmessage tag to include the second label.
              <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="Max Duration" id="plam1" showRequired="true">
                <af:inputText id="it5" required="true" showRequired="false"/>
                <f:facet name="end">
                  <af:outputLabel value="years" id="ol1"/>
                </f:facet>
              </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
            </af:panelFormLayout>The problem arise with the required fields. We can set the showRequired attribute of the panellabelandmessage to true and the one of the inputText to false.
    But whenever the required property of the inputText is set to true, the required icon is always shown, even if the showRequired is set to false.
    This makes that the required icon is shown twice.
    How can we hide the required icon from the inputText field?
    What are possible solutions for this situation?
    Thank you in advance.
    Filip Huysmans.

    Filip,
    the following custom skin entry removes the required icon from all input text labels so they are set on the panelLabelMessage component only
    af|inputText::label .AFRequiredIconStyle{display:none}
    If you need to have more control, you can add a styleClass property as shown below
    <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="Max Duration" id="plam1" showRequired="true">
                <af:inputText id="it5" required="true" showRequired="false" styleClass="noRequiredIcon"/>
                <f:facet name="end">
                  <af:outputLabel value="years" id="ol1"/>
                </f:facet>
              </af:panelLabelAndMessage>In which case the following skin only removes this
    .noRequiredIcon af|inputText::label .AFRequiredIconStyle{display:none}
    If you need this event more dynamic, use EL to set the styleClass value.
    Frank
    Ps.: The question you may ask is: Why do I need to add the af|inputText::label to the skin if the style class determines the instance? The benefit you get from this is that it is the longets match, which means that if there are other components (non input text) that have similar requirements, you can handle them individually

  • How to show asterisk for required fields in a table row?

    Hi Folks,
    For showing the asterisk (*) for required fields in a form, I used to give required="true" for the component and surround the component with a af:panelLabelAndMessage for which I set showRequired="true". How to do this for a component in a table row. For a component in a table, there is no label per se. The required=true flag in the component shows proper error message saying that it is required but there is no (*) for that component.
    Thanks
    Vishal

    Table does not have any required attribute.But column has showRequired property .You can used this.If column has input text then also you put required true on this component.And set your required messages there .
    It will resolve your problem
    Thanks
