Response from Apple ?

Is there any response from apple regarding the new ibrick 4.0 update?
Would really like to know what, if anything they are planning to do.

I highly doubt the error rate is anywhere near 30%
There's nearly 100 million iPhone OS devices sold. Let's go conservative and say 5% of those are being updated, so 5 million updates. It's probably higher, but we'll go with that.
30% would would be 1.5 million bricked iPhones. Trust me, that would be big news. Apple would be even more slammed than they are and it'd be in USA Today, New York Times, etc. Kind of like how the pre-order overload was, when 600,000 preorders were taken in a day, and probably at least one million people tried.
Now, a more realistic, but still high failure rate is about 1%, which would be about 50,000 failed updates. I could buy that number, although it's probably still a bit higher than the true rate of failure, but it's at least in the right order of magnitude.
You're getting some heavy sample bias by looking at the Apple support forum. No company will ever get this process to be 100% failproof. Over millions of devices (with varying computers to back them and app/data configurations), there's no way to test all the possible permutations. Especially on a release to old hardware that's not getting the primary focus of Apple's attention.
I agree... Apple should've done this release better than they did, but let's not get ahead of ourselves and think this is a catastrophic meltdown, unless there's really numbers and proof to back up that bold of a claim.
This is fairly regular upgrade hiccups, probably slightly worse than Apple would've modeled internally, but not excessively so. On top of that, Apple will care a lot more about the 3GS upgrades over the 3G upgrades. There just aren't enough 3G units still under AppleCare to warrant the extra concern.

I have over 40 Itunes purchases and they all play back fine, But my last purchase Ip Man2 keeps freezing on play, I know it's not my PC because all my other itunes movies play fine, wasn't able to get a helpful response from APPLE, How can I get a refund on that purchase or a better copy.

I own the movies and I want them to stay in my iTunes library basically forever.
But in both cases the file name no longer shows in the movie list, so I don't know how to re-download it from the Cloud.
iTunes prefs > Store > Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
This will show all your iTunes purchases in your library with a cloud icon down arrow. Click the icon to redownload or click on Play to stream without downloading.
Also see this , -> Download past purchases
and techncially, you don't "own" the movie, You simply have a license to use it.
Yet the first thing iTunes does when you hit the delete key is tell you that it will remove the movie forever from all devices and the library.
Actually, no it does not tell you that.
FYI: You should keep copies of all yoru iTnue spurahses as the labels/movie studios/copyright owners can pull their product at anytime and it won't be available to redownload.

  • App testing phase: Push notifications are not getting delivered to certain devices (iphone 4S/ios7.0.4 and ios7.0.3 - Push never worked for these two devices for this app). Received OK responses from Apple PUSH services, but notifications not delivered

We are testing an app at work and Push notifications are not getting delivered to certain devices (iphone 4S/ios7.0.4 and ios7.0.3 - Push never worked for these two devices for this app). Received OK responses from Apple PUSH services, but notifications not delivered to these tow devices.
PUSH notification were delivered to some of the other iOS devices: (iPhone5 / iOS 6.1.4 and iPhone5 / iOS 7.0.3)

Sounds like you have a battry issue but don't want to believe it.
If a car was running fine on one tank of gas, then you filled it up with another tank of gas and it began to run funny, one might suspect that tank of gas. But let's just say coincidence blew a valve-- would you think the new tank of gas was the culprit?
BUT WAIT!! It just might have been! The gas could have been of higher octane and put more more strain on the valves; you know, like going from 87 octane (OS6) to 93 octane (OS7) and showing you the engine was on the edge of compromise.
Sometimes you have to go with common sense. If everything else is ruled out, it must be the battery. And if it runs fine one moment in OS6 but immediately ***** in OS7, I'd believe my battery was suspect-- though comfy-- in OS6 but the OS7 showed its true power.
Moreover, if you had the answer-- or didn't want to believe someone's more competent advice-- why did you even call?  You've already shown that you don't know much when you asked if you could go backwards after setting up the new OS as a new phone.
Additonally, if you're such the know-it-all, but yourself the $29 battery and put it in yourself. It's a piece of cake.

  • Why hasn't my problem from 10/26 received a response from Apple tech support as of a month later?

Back on 10/26, I began a discussion about an iPhone iOS 7 glitch which was an issue for my work.  It has been a month and there has been no response from anybody representing Apple.  Are Apple Support Communities merely manned by non-staff, volunteer effort or has some staffer missed my post?  Could someone from Apple Support in the iPhone department please answer my post from 10/26?  Our campus of nearly all Apple products of which I am in charge is at the end of our campus-wide AT&T phone contracts.  It's getting pretty hard to convince our board that Apple is "the way to go" when the user-focused philosophy is waning so significantly that it's led to constantly increasing IT time & $$.  If you want a more detailed list of issues we've got concerns about check out my follow-up reply to the post https://discussions.apple.com/message/23530965#23530965 shown in my image below.  I'd love to ask about those issues, too, but Apple Support Communities won't even respond to a mere iOS7 phone glitch post.  I'm disappointed.  Apple has been phenomonal in the past and we've been very appreciative.  Please help me and give me some relief as I fight the board to keep our organization Apple-based.

Apple will not respond, as this site is indeed supported by other Apple product users. To comment to Apple directly use the link below.

  • Static lines problem and bad response from Apple employee

I first saw the static lines in my iphone5's keyboard and then again while opening a folder. It was only after 3 days from my purchase. The very next day I went to the Apple store of Shibuya (JAPAN) with my Japanese friend and talked the problem with Apple's employee but the response was really cold(rude, not like that of Apple store employee) Without listening to the whole thing he asked us to consult with Apple's technician in 2nd floor if we have any hardware issues and then leaved us without a single more word. It felt like an insult and then we returned back home with some bad images of Apple's employee in our mind. That was not our first visit there but definitely was first to get such a rude response.
Today once again I saw the same problem  in my iPhone5. I am not sure if they will take my problem seriously or not if I visit there again. There in Silicon valley, Tim cook talks about the best customer experience in Apple store, but here in Japan we had a worst customer experience.
Tim, better provide normal customer service first than only talking about best customer experience.

ok...  just an FYI, this is a user to user forum... therefore no one from Apple will ever see your complaint.  You can file your complaint at www.apple.com/feedback.  In the situation with your phone, you can also contact your carrier and see if they will swap the device for you.  In the USA I have Sprint, and had a similar issue when the 4S was released.  Apple claimed they had no fix for it.  Then I went to Sprint, and they swapped the phone for me and the issue was resolved.  I haven't read anything about this issue with the 5 though.

  • Response from apple re: connecting to MUSIC STORE

I got an email today from Apple apologising for my inconvience with my not being able to connect to the ITMS. They said there was an issue with the music store that has now been resovled and assured me I would have no more issues connecting to it, but alas, I have just tried and STILL same error message I have been getting for 3 weeks now!
    Anyone else get this reply?

    This is the actual email:
I'm sorry you ran into an error when you tried to use the Music Store. This error was caused by a temporary issue with the iTunes Music Store that should be
resolved now. Please check the Music Store again. All features should be working well.

  • IOS A2DP in 4.0.1. Users need a response from Apple

I have sent several emails to Apple and they never answered me, I have not seen that in the forum thread has received positive feedback from the company.
I've been waiting two months and at least one answer, because my Pioneer DEH600BT not connect with my iPhone since I updated.
I think the minimum should have been a response by the company.
APPLE me two months ago that I can hear music in my car!
    Sorry for my English.
    An angry user.

If you can follow this forum thread "http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2469559&tstart=0" you will see that problem is not only pioneer equipment.
I would say that any bluetooth headset is concerned.
But and I say, if Apple engineers do not see the forums or reply to emails, then how can we let them know that there is this problem?
That unfortunately I can not go up to 3.1.3
I do not know English, I'm using the google translator, of all I would call apple, and I doubt if I call Support Spanish can do something.

  • Can anyone tell me or give me a link to the latest response from Apple regarding very real weak wifi signal on what seems to be a batch of both the new ipad and the earlier Ipad2. I have just bought a 2nd hand ipad2 and it has a very weak wifi signal

Over the last week or so I have been trawling the internet looking for references to weak wifi signals on the Ipad2 and was staggered by the sheer quantity of people who seem to have identical issues, not just with the ipad2 but also with the new ipad. What annoyed me most from reading the reams upon reams of comments made on the Apple community forum is the fairly large number of people who seemed to believe that 'these' people were either just moaners and wingers or else they must have something wrong with their router set-up rather than a serious fault with their ipad and it seems all because there ipad in question works like a dream.
Obviously I can only speak from my experience, and that is, I have an ipad2 32GB with wifi, purchased about 6 months ago and it works like dream with a good 2-3 bar wifi signal through 2 thick stone walls over 30 feet away. My router is a standard one supplied by my broadband supplier compatible with all 'g','b' and 'n' equipment. However, over a week ago now I bought second hand genuine ipad2 16GB with wifi from a close friend who has just purchased a new ipad3 to replace his old ipad2 (had it for over a year so no longer under warranty). When I started it up downstairs from my router, where I always use my other ipad2 which has a very strong wifi signal, I discovered that the new secondhand ipad2 I had purchased couldnt find a network signal at all. So after doing network resets and all other 'fixes' on the device recommended, I took it upstairs to my office where the router is based and found that the device could now locate the network, but the signal was lost over only 12 feet from the router!
I quizzed my good friend about this issue and he informed me that it has always been like this since he first purchased it and he never thought that it was a fault, it was just the way it was. When he first aquired the device he did think at the time that this distance was poor, but thought nothing of it as he didnt have any other ipad to measur ethe signal strength against, and as his router was in his living room anyway he nothing of it. Fair enough.
So, there we have it. One ipad2 with a very good wifi signal and another ipad2  with a very poor wifi signal running off the same router, both with the same IOS 5.0. ?
As well as all of the other isues that customers have picked up on, such as 'death grip' (which I must say does appear to happen, but personally i dont think that this is a serious issue if you are aware of this issue and have a strong signal anyway), my experience seems to be a good  example of a 'duff' wifi ipad versus a 'great' wifi ipad', an issue confirmed by complaints from a fairly large number of customers who have also reported the same or similar weak wifi signals with both the ipad2 and the ipad3. So, as this shows the weak wifi signal is a very real issue it seems on a batch of ipad2 and 3's, which to my logic is obviously a hardware issue on a batch of early ipad2's and not a software one, otherwise all ipad's would suffer this problem! So, is it a faulty antenna or a faukty network card in an early batch?
So, the bottom line now is, of course, firstly,  how can I get Apple to fix my other ipad2 when the warranty has run out? Any suggestions anyone?
Personally I think good Apple customer service should offer a recall with a replacement on this apparent batch of ipads, dont you?

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • My maps app has suddenly gone BLANK, no longer displays anything but a creamy brown background and a blue dot, I've see other issues on other devices also, but not a single response from apple explaining how to resolve it.  Anyone else?

Before I left for Thailand, I didn't have a single problem with my maps app, however on return, I've found that it no longer displays anything in the main map screen, hybrid and sattelite still show something (but aren't accurate), but in maps itself, all there is is a blank screen. This not only affects maps, but all my other programs that are obviously linked somehow to apple maps are now doing the same thing... Nike Running, iSmoothRun, Argus, all now show my route, but it's overlaid over a BLANK map area.
Anyone see this? and know how to fix it?

I've done soft and hard resets, power off resets, I've deleted the three apps that are associated with maps and reinstalled them, the only thing I haven't done is a full restore, which from other peoples experiences I've see hasn't fixed the issue. So, I've avoided that because I don't want the 7.0.5 update (my 5S is a China coded model)

  • Apple ID disabled, no response from Apple support for 5 days...

My itunes account was hacked and drained by "Kingdom Conquest" last week.  I sent an email and got no response, even though the support form says I'll get one within 24 hours.  I called apple support and was transferred back and forth before someone finally said they could help, and the said they had to disable my accont for 2 days as part of the refund process.
It's been a lot longer than 2 days, now, and I still get an error saying "your apple id has been disabled" every time i try to access itunes.  I've tried resetting my password numerous times.   I've tried calling apple again and everyone just keeps telling me to email support, as itunes apparently doesnt offer phone support (???).  The last person i spoke to could barely speak english, which just added to the aggravation.
Why am i being punished for Apples horrible security?  Re-enable my **** account or transfer my past purchases to a new one!  This is ridiculous!

I also sent a support webform because 79,99 euro's worth of Pokerchips were bought by someone using my Apple ID.. I sent it 2,5 days ago, but still no reply.. My Apple ID is also disabled, but I managed to reset it and enter a new password. If Apple does not reply by tomorrow morning (GMT+2) I think I will send them an email. I hoped the Apple support would be somewhat faster than this..

  • No Response from Apple TV

I had not used my Apple TV for 2 months due to travel. Now I get absolutely no response (flash) even with new remote battery, no blockages, and cleaned connections. Any ideas?

Sounds like a hardware issue.  May well be the remote - occasionally the IR sensor in an AppleTV can be out of line with the aperture in the case so it can't actually see the remote signal too - rare but not impossible.
Is the AppleTV under warranty still - if so the remote should be covered for the 12 months too.  They're not expensive but if under warranty use it.
    Good luck.
Remote app will probably not work if you've restored as your Home Sharing credentials won't be on AppleTV anymore.

  • "Buy a new MAC" or "Pay dearly for us to help you hopefully fix something we broke!" Where is the intelligence in that kind of a response from Apple? Are you intentionally leaving all the people that made you billions on our own?

    So, My Dear Apple Inc,
At this time, you are earning billions of dollars due to "our" belief in your products. Most of us had pretty good luck. But the flip answers the phone support people give the people that have problems are sickening. We are the Human User side of the business. We spend money to support you. We have the power to collapse the entire Apple Empire if you do not support and answer us in a civil manner. We "very much" would like to support the growth of Apple and whatever subsidiaries. But you must deliver and stand behind your products and services. Most of us are not Techs. We are end users with crazy busy lives and we require you to work along side of us to create a more sustainable computer environment for home and business. Gee whiz guys. Crashes and freezes after we keep upgrading. I am new here. Sorry. I have not even learned how to answer your comment.

    Hey MacSurvivor!
Please give us a rundown of what exactly you are expereincing so we can further assist you. There are so many configurations out there, it's hard to help with so little to work off of.
    I understand you are upset.
    1) How old is your HDD
    2) how did you install ML (clean or over top)
    3) what are you doing before you see crashes or freezes?
    4) how can we reproduce them?
The better you can describe what you are seeing (and not feeling) the better we can help.
