Reversal of Transport

Hi ,
Can anybody let me know if there is any way of reversal of Transport request .
Actually due to some schedule job in the Rev trac ( transport tool ) around 150 transport requestsa are moved to produciton overnight .
I dont think any reversal of transprot is possible unless done manually by undoing the changes done by each transport .
If still there is any way , please let me know .
Thanks in advance.
Dhaval Raje.

Hi Raje,
There is no short cut unfortunately, you have to do it manually only. There is one more option, restoring previous day backup and recover till that time(before your transport moved). This way your data may go inconsistant and if your DB size is large, it's better not use this method.

Hari.

  • How to reverse the transport from Production

    Hi all,
by mistake I have transported the wrong order type to production. now I want to reverse it , how it can be done. my other question is what will be the effect if I directly delete that order type from production.
    Regards
    Kumar

    Hello Akumar,
    basically you have 2 options:
    1) restore your system to a point in time just prior to the import of the request;
    2) goto your DEV system, correct the order type change, create a new transport request and transport it to production. It'll overwrite the defective one. (you can also retrieve a previous version of this object via Version Management and create a change request from it)
It's highly not recommended to perform any kind of alteration directly on production (like deleting these orders) since you have a control mechanism (via TMS) to control de modifications and adjustments. Moreover you can have unpredictable behavior if this objects are used by other objects. Please don't do it to avoid making thins even worse.
    I hope this helps.

  • Transports:  Best practice in reversing old transports not moved to PRD

    Hello Guru's,
I have a lot of old transports moved from DEV to QAS that don't work or are irrelevant that need to be reversed.  These transports were made by a consultant no longer with the company and there is no documentation of what was changed.
What is the best method in reversing these changes?
    I appreciate your help!

Next time, don't ask for the best practice. You would likely get more response if you simply ask "What would you do..?"

  • Reverse a Transport

    Hi,
We accidentally reimported a customization transport from last year (May 2010) for Payroll to our PRD system. Our Payroll system has been running since July 2010. This transport contained different objects like forms and tables.
What is the best way to fix this issue? Will creating a new transport based from the old transport work?
I appreciate all your help. Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Mark

    Hi,
You will have to transport again with the old settings but make sure to use the OVERWRITE option. For details you can refer to the following thread also:

  • How to reverse Transport requests from sand box to development client

    Dear all,
I am doing some testing on Sand box, I made some transport requests from development to sandbox, which effected some settings in sandbox.
Now I want to reverse those transport request from sand box to development, unfortunately I didn't make any note of transport requests which I transported from Development to Sandbox.
Please educate me how to reverse transport requests from sand box to development.
    your suggestions are highly appreciated
    thank you
    Venu Gopal

There is no reverse, you have to create a new transport with the original settings.
Programs keep track of their versions and are easier to pull a previous version, configuration can be tougher, open all the folders in SE10 to see if you can determine the configuration changes.

  • How to reverse transport request

    Hi Experts,
We transported some changes from quality to development. Now we realized that, we dont want those changes in Development.
Plz suggest me, Is there any procedure to reverse this transport request?
    Thanx in advance.
    Rgds,
    Ram

    Hi Reddy,
    You can't Reverse transport request.
But there is a work around to get back your old changes or format.
For EX: if you have transported any infoobject or any cube .. there is a chance of getting back the old changes through the Version comparison.

  • Reversing changes in a transport

Hi,  is there a faster and easier way of reversing all the changes you have did under a particular transport?

    Hi Evie,
I dont think standard SAP functionality has such facility. But FYI, at my client we use one software for our transport management which releases the transports for us and if we dont find the relevant changes then you can reverse the transport and changes gets reversed automatically.

  • Transport of unwanted config.

    Hi gurus,
In our ECC 6.0 development system, we have 100 as the customising client and 200 as the unit test client.
There is some SAP standard configuration around company codes in structure V_T001 that has found its way to client 200. This is anything that falls outside of the company range 1101 to 1119 (e.g. 0001, AR01 etc). I am not sure whether these entries have been transported from 100 or if they were in client 200 in the first instance prior to transports? Can you please look into this for me and advise how we can reverse these entries from 200?
Any suggestions will surely be rewarded.
    Thanks in advance,
    Abdul

    Hi Abdul,
You can use SE03 to search for the transport that did the changes...
Anyhow, there no way to reverse a transport you'll need to reverse the changes manually or restore from backup.

  • How to delete or cancel a transport order already released to PRD?

    Hi guys.
I am not a System Administrator / Basis Consultant, but I comitted a serious mistake and I want to get repair ideas. I am an ABAP consultant. A FI Consultant was creating a query, but she left the project. My customer told me they needed more changes in the query. But I noticed a transport request was left by the FI consultant at QAS, not moved to PRD yet. I proved it, and I thought it could be nice to be transported to PRD since it solved an aspect of the customer's complaints. But my customer got angry and told me the change caused by the transport order delivered at PRD had ruined some fields and it set them like blanks. So, I am in truble. Since I was not the original developer of the query, I have to analyze the query's infoset, but it contains 9 tables, and someone set ABAP code. It is going to take time to get fixed, and my customer needs it as soon as possible. Is there a fast way to delete the changes generated by a transport order moved to PRD? The old version (moved with the subsequent older transport) had an acceptable performance, but the ultimate version that I asked to be moved was an error. Can be transported the contents of the penultimate transport order again at PRD to neutralize the wrong transport? Thank you!

You can't reverse a transport... but you could use version management to undo changes in DEV and transport accross. Also If there was a previous version that worked ok then you could reimport that transport accross. Always test an make sure everything is Ok in QA before going to PRD

  • 1811 as a terminal server?

I've heard that you can configure an 1811 router as a terminal server for remote console work.
I have several of them in the lab and would love to try it out.
    Has anyone done this?
    Thanks!
    Ven

Easy to do.. just use the AUX port (BTW, this can be done using any Cisco IOS router that has an AUX port).  For the 1811, I suggest the following (this is how I normally do it):
! presume you have aaa new-model configured
    aaa new-model
! suggest making a "none" type of method for login
    aaa authentication login my-none none
    ! configure the aux port
    line aux 0
! this is just a sanity setting to force a port release every 60 mins.  remove this if you want long lived
!  terminal server sessions, or adjust as needed
    session-timeout 3600
! this will prevent the 1811 itself from soliciting a login on the reverse telnet session.  if you want the 1811
!  to enforce a login (aka if you want to protect the attached device via an 1811 based login sequence),
!  then adjust this to a different aaa login method.  In my case, I enforce login on the attached serial device
!  and find having the IOS 1811 doing a login to be a nusiance.
    login authentication my-none
! subtle but important step here.. turn off the aux line "exec" processing.  if you do not do this, it will still work
!  but when you connect, do not be surprised to find a ton of junk coming out... as if the exec is on, the anytime
!  the attached device output.. aka inputs to the aux.. then the "exec" will try to process it like an IOS CLI command.
    no exec
! at minimum, one has to allow telnet (as that is really the only thing that can attach via reverse telnet)
    transport input telnet
! adjust this if needed, note 9600 baud is the default so it will not show up
    speed 9600
    Also suggest the following:
! putting this at the top of the global config will help prevent "hung" sessions.  basically if
!  someone abruptly disconnects, within 5 mins the reverse-telnet session will be released on the
!  1811.  aka, prevents one from having to do tedious "clear line" on the 1811 for a hung reverse-telnet
    service tcp-keepalives-in
Once you have this in place.. do a "show line"
    1811#show line
Tty Typ     Tx/Rx    A Modem  Roty AccO AccI   Uses   Noise  Overruns   Int
          0 CTY              -    -      -    -    -      0       0     0/0       -
          1 TTY              - inout     -    -    -      0       0     0/0       -
          5 AUX   9600/9600  -    -      -    -    -      3       0     0/0       -
The AUX port should be line "5" on an 1811.  As such, the reverse-telnet port to use for this port is "2005" (aka 2000 + line#).  Thus do a telnet to your 1811, but change the TCP port from 23 to 2005.

  • Transports reversal..

    Hi,
I would like to know if we do a sequence bulk  transport  request and  later on if there is any problem during transport..
We would like how to do the reversal of the Transports and will there be any impact in such case..
    Regds,
    Satyanarayana .

    Hello  Satya,
If the bulk transport is to production then normally you would have tested this in some test system. Now these transports would be sitting in your production import buffer in the  same sequence as they were imported to quality. Now if the trnsports to quality were successful and testing was also successful then you can be assured that the sequence is already correctly set in production unless of course you are using QA approval and have already approved some transports out of sequence. If nothing of this sort is done sequence will be taken care of by SAP.
However if transports are yet to be released and you are nnot sure abt the release sequence and the number of transports is not very large and  say around 10-20 then may to be you can create a new transport (workbench) and merge the object list of the the orginal transport in  this new transport and move the single new transport.

  • RSA1 query transport reversal

in RSA1, I select some reports developed by query designer, after that, the report is moved to collected objects, but now I realized that I have selected the wrong query, how to reverse? i.e. move query from right pane(collected objects)l to left panel?
also every time I select a query, the info-provider /infocube /infoarea also moved to right panel, do we need to transport them besides query element? thanks

    Hi,
If you have not given any transport req  no to the wrong objects , then just close that window and open new RSA1 window.
Please note that if you have entered transport req no for the worng objects follow below steps:
For removing the Objects from Transport request :
    1) Go to SE01 , give your transport req no , click on tools , click on unlock objects ,give your req no, come back to SE01 main screen , Double click your request ,Select All Objects and delete all rows.
For collecting only required objects :
    1) Select Transport Connection -> Query - > Select Objects -> Slect your query - > once all the objects comes on right side , Select Display Mode - > List , Now you would see different objects related to that query ,
    2) Now Left click on each type of object and select "Do Not transport any below"
    3) For Query elements select "Transport all below"

  • Reversing transport request (Changes)

I have made changes to a program and transported to quality. Test has failed. How can i reverse all the changes in one go. Is there way to reverse the TR.
    Thanks

    Hi,
until yet reverse transports are not provided by SAP.
Sometime it is much manual work getting back to previous state.
You have to retrieve old version for each software component in the development system. For SAP Script there is no versioning at all!
Sometimes I prepare a reverse transport to face problems going live.
Additionally we built up a transport way from SAP live system to our development system. So we can bring systems in front of the live system closer to it. This is a good deal especially for the development system, which normally will not be renewed.
